    Gyoza & Teriyaki Chicken
    Anthony S.

I was driving home last night looking for somewhere that would be about 20 mins from where I was at the time and on a whim found this place on Yelp and decided to preorder it and pick it up so I could keep driving. The man on the phone was very polite and when I picked up the phone was super friendly! I still had over an hour left in my drive and when I got home it was still decently warm and looked delicious! The extra teriyaki sauce I ordered had pretty much settled down to the rice (which is why my white rice looks brown) but that gave the rice a great flavor! And I had gotten an extra teriyaki sauce and yum yum sauce on the side so it was easy to enjoy the more saucy feel still. The gyoza was delicious and packed well. Also all of this was $14 and change and it was SO much food! Would definitely go back if I ever drive by that area again!

Stopped in to pick up an easy meal last night and try somewhere new. The interior is small, but has a few tables for dine in if you decide to stay, but we ordered ours to go. Their menu is pretty straight forward for a hibachi Service was friendly and decently quick, as food was ready in about 10 minute We both ordered hibachi chicken, which comes with a good portion of rice and grill vegetables. I had upgraded to fried rice, but seemed to only get brown rice, so that was a little disappointing. The portions were a good size. Though I finished mine, my girlfriend had some left for a lunch today. I'll probably give them another chance at some point, and would recommend

They have changed a few things since my last visit. They have added a few tables. This is still more of a take out spot. I was greeted pleasantly and it wasn't crowded when I entered. The crowd started to come in after I placed my order. Great timing! Since there really isn't much room to stand or sit, I noticed some people go outside as they ordered. You could pump some gas while you wait. There isn't a public bathroom. Drinks are in a cooler to the right as you walk in. If you want a drink in a cup, you have to order something like a bubble tea drink. I ordered a steak and shrimp combo. The steak was cooked as I requested. The shrimp were a very good size. The vegetables were so tasty. I chose a salad versus the soup. It is a fancy box of lettuce. I've tried their soup before and it is really good so I wanted to switch it up. I asked for ginger dressing with my salad, but she gave me ranch. I didn't mind because either was ok, but next time I'll check. They have lunch specials. There is a big sign to the right of the counter. Take a look at the lunch menu if you stop in for lunch. Their takeout is well packaged. The boxes are cute and fancier than those boring styrofoam containers. I like that some of their packaging is paper versus plastic.

Yummy food, excellent service, and reasonable prices! One of my favorite lunch special spots. They also have smoothies!

I always drive by this place and never looked at it twice. Just seemed ok. After finally deciding to give it a try, I learned their food is actually very delicious. Their entrees are where it's at. Thier hibachi and udon plates are very tasty. Their gyoza was delicious too! But there was a few let downs. I'm not picky and love to try everything once, but the shumai just wasn't very good. And when it comes to their drinks, I felt like they were watered down, and definitely wouldn't go back for the bubble tea. Could of been my drinks and or something but was disappointed. But overall, a good experience and I'm glad I got to try it. 8/10 just wouldn't be my first choice!

Listen, just go!!! It's very good...nice soft and fresh vegetables, sticky rice, good grilled chicken!!! Nice flavors to the spicy teriyaki!! This will be my new go to hibachi place!!!

I placed an order for 2 shrimp hibachI plates each with fried rice and teriyaki sauce. When I received my order one of my orders had fried rice while the other had white rice. I went to the restaurant to have this corrected and he stated my receipt expressed that I wanted white rice. There is a dollar upcharge for both fried rice and teriyaki. I explained the price would not be $34.00 for white rice and no where on my receipt does it say white rice. The manager refused to correct the restaurants mistake. The food is ok but the customer service and the incompetence of there employees will send me to jail. I do not recommend!

The portions were plenty big. We had the combo chicken and shrimp and just teriyaki chicken. I will go back to eat here again it was great for leftovers. I had the coffee milk tea with boba and it was decent.

I've tried Hibachi Grill and Bubble Tea twice now. Teriyaki chicken is a favorite of mine so its the only thing I've tried, but I was impressed! The chicken was grilled, seasoned, and sauced perfectly. I wouldn't have minded more veggies because they were great too. A unique option they offer is the choice of brown rice. I wasn't sure what to expect when I opted for the brown rice but I really enjoyed it. It wasn't like the normal fried rice you may be used to with veggies, but it was nice to have the choice for a 'healthier' option. The only reason I gave 4 stars is the price. It was more expensive than most places I've been that offer the same menu, but I'll still be back.

My…read morebest friend and I were on a road trip from Richmond, VA to Asheville and this was the halfway point. We were heading to AVL for my bachelorette and throughout the weekend we kept going "GOD THAT RAMEN WAS SO GOOD!" We came on a Wednesday evening. It took a little to get seated and service was on the slower side, but it was worth it. There was a lot of indoor seating and we were seated at a booth. They have mens and womens restrooms at this restaurant. And a lot of free parking out front in their parking lot. We started off with an Alaska roll as an appetizer. This was really delicious! We knew we were off to a great start. I got the black garlic ramen and my best friend got the red spicy oil ramen. We were in heaven. This ramen is beyond delicious. The rich garlicy broth of mine was perfection. Each element was so yummy. I would drive the 3.5 hours back just to get this ramen again. I highly recommend going.

He (an African American male) was treated terribly from the moment he went inside. First, the receptionist acted funny toward him and non-friendly, as if he was stealing someone else's order. That was strike number 1. Then, when he got home, we realized our order was absolutely wrong. We were missing the Spider Rolls and the yellow tail. We spent almost $70 so of course, this was irritating. He called the restaurant on his way to get the missing items and once again, the receptionist was rude. She questioned if he knew what yellow tail and spider rolls looked like. Questioning and insulting his intelligence as a grown man. That was strike number 2. He asked to speak to a manager and he said there wasn't one and he would need to come tomorrow to speak to one....yeah ok. He told her that wouldn't be necessary because he was pulling up to the restaurant in about a minute. When he came in she continued to argue with him about his order and told him, he needed to bring it back...why would he bring back the items that were right in the order, when he was there for the MISSING ITEMS?! Not to mention, that's extremely unsanitary! She would not help him but instead argued so badly with him that the chef had to come out of the kitchen. The receptionist spoke to my husband as if he was a child. She talked to him as if he was a thief and a liar. Strike number 3. The chef then told my husband, he would take care of the missing items for him and to not worry. Now, why couldn't the receptions in treat him with the same respect and dignity that the chef did? I'll tell you why. She racially profiled him because of the demographics of the city where the restaurant is located. She treated him as if he was uncultured, ignorant, and a liar. We will never be back and will be sure to write every single person that matters and leave reviews all over the internet exposing this racist establishment. I will be sure that everyone knows exactly what happens when a black person enters the restaurant.

No. Seriously. 5 adults and 2 high chairs. I was hoping to slip in with a group and have fun. This seating is depressing. Oh let me not forget I waited 10 minutes at least to be seated. That wasn't so bad as I figured u had to wait on an odd numbered party to show up. I shoulda just waited into 4pm when the spot I really wanted to visit opened up. Our drinks & app service was decent. Never got our severs names but my Coke Zero was refilled without asking. Listening to the family at the table beside us chat and eat has been enjoyable while we sit here looking crazy. I've been here many times throughout the years. This has been the shortest wait to be seated. The longest wait to eat. And the most fumbled I've seen. Like who turns the table off? Loads of people in here. Plenty of people in the lobby waiting. But almost an hour between my arrival and the chef isn't even cooking? Nah. I'm good on Kabuto. Update! My medium ribeye was over cooked. I had medium. The people beside me ordered medium well. We are not together. This is why I don't order the filet because more often than not the steak gets overcooked. I typically order medium because I know the carry over will make it medium well. If you have a large group 6-10 then yes. Give this a whirl at least once. Solo dining night? Meh. Totally kid friendly too. I wanted to give this 4 stars but overcooked steak and the extra long wait took the fun out of it for me.

Kabuto is a pretty run of the mill hibachi steakhouse. The food is as good as the next place, and I…read morereally don't have too much to say about that. The rice will be fried, the meats will be cooked, and in the end, I will smother everything in enough of a mayonnaise-based white sauce that the finer variations from one hibachi place to the next don't really matter. What I do care about is the service and the entertainment. If someone is cooking in front of me, I expect them to be on their a-game. And, on my recent visit for dinner, our chef absolutely was. Though it was around 4:30 pm, so pretty early for dinner (and with smaller, quieter crowds), our chef pulled out all the tricks and was funny and engaging. Sometimes you get the sense that a chef hates his job and is just going through the motions, making you feel guilty for wanting to see an onion volcano -- that was not the case here. He was a total pro. Our waiter was also great, and struck the perfect balance between attentiveness and giving me space to enjoy my food and conversation. My drink stayed full and I never had to wait for something I needed, but I also didn't have to pause my conversation to speak to the waiter every 30 seconds, between mouthfuls of food. Like the chef, he was a total pro. I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 only because my dessert bananas at the end were cold and not even caramelized, which was super disappointing. I think the chef was in a rush to get out of there, because our table took longer than the average for him to cook the food... a couple people we were seated with kept throwing food back on the grill (ew) and asking him to cook it longer. And I mean every single food they got, not just a steak. So, his timing might have been off in terms of getting to his next table, and ultimately it came at the price of cooking the final item correctly or really at all.

After placing a call to Little Tokyo to confirm they too weren't filled to capacity, we headed there for our sushi fix, and it made me regret not having visited sooner. Little Tokyo boasts a pleasant, relaxing ambiance that made it a welcome refuge from the night's rather intense rain. The menu here is Japanese (sushi, sashimi, hibachi, etc.) albeit with some Korean and Chinese influences. The selection of sushi rolls is extensive, and quite a few of them sounded intriguing. Admittedly, the Italian (a California roll topped with white fish, tomato sauce, and cheese) was a bridge too far even for me. My wife and I came hungry and went with two apps (steamed dumplings and vegetable gyoza), four rolls, and two misos. The food was, across the board, quite good. Whereas some miso can blast you with salt, Little Tokyo's broth benefitted from an underlying richness. Our sushi was beautifully plated and tasted fresh. Of the rolls we tried, the Bulgoki (beef, crab, cucumber, and eel sauce) was my favorite. Prices here are reasonable for the quality of the food (rolls in the low-mid teens, most apps under $10), and severs are polite. The kitchen isn't lightning fast, but we didn't find the wait unreasonable. Based on ratings, I expected "good," and based on hunger levels and a desire to be out of the rain, I would have settled for "OK." Little Tokyo, however, ended up being surprisingly great.
