Went here for lunch, ordered a few different things forgot to take a picture of everything but I enjoyed it all!! The spicy crab roll was possibly my favorite. And the pork bao and honey sesame chicken were also delicious!! We were there kind of early and it was really quiet, not sure if it's normally more busy. But our server was great!! Convenient location at new garden shopping center. I definitely recommend going for lunch because their lunch specials were really good and they do them on the weekends too (Ive noticed some places don't do lunch specials on the weekend). Nothing horrible, but nothing memorable either. We've tried quite a few sushi spots in the area, and this one was lackluster at best. Service was decent, though a bit on the slow side. For appetizers, we had the veggie and shrimp tempura, which lacked flavor and had a softer breading instead of that light, crispy texture you expect. The pork and shrimp dim sum were also underwhelming. A bit dry and lacking depth of flavor. As for the sushi, the rolls and the two piece nigiri were just okay. Fresh enough, but not the highest quality compared to several other spots we've tried around Greensboro and the Triad. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience, just not one that stood out. I am giving four stars because, while the food was great it took quite a while to receive service. The server that originally greeted us walked past us several times while we waited patiently to order. However, what they lacked in service they make up for in the food. So, I order Sushi Sashimi Lunch: #1 Sashimi Regular usually comes with spicy tuna rolls but I don't do spicy. They were very nice to swap with eel & cucumber roll instead for me. The sashimi is over and oval shape of rice. This is a lunch special...it comes with a side salad + ginger dressing or Mico soup. I got the salad+ ginger dressing to go. Let's say she didn't like the eel & cucumber roll...lol. Eel is my favorite sashimi and in most rolls too. She kinda like some the tuna, salmon sashimi. I love sashimi!! Their food is very fresh and delicious. I also got Unagi Don too. It's grilled eel over a bed of rice. All of their sashimi and sushi comes with fresh ginger, wasabi, chopsticks, and container for soy sauce. When you order Sushi or sashimi you get to pick between salad that comes with ginger dressing or miso soup. I got miso soup that was hot but not too hot to eat...just right. They don't have coffee but they do have hot tea. Jasmine or Green tea. I got green tea and it's really green tea. So, good and fresh. The waitress was very friendly, helpful and sweet to help to pick out what to eat for lunch. Especially, because it was my friends first time. They do play music in the background. I have driven past Ichi Sushi a number of times but never stopped in. In search of a dinner spot and on a whim, my husband and I decided to drive around until we passed a place we haven't tried before. We passed Ichi and I was convinced this was the place! We walked in to a half full restaurant and we were immediately greeted and told to take a seat wherever we wanted. We were seated but a minute before the server (the only one on staff), came and took our drink order. Once he returned with our drinks he took our food order. We opted for dumpling soup, sushi rolls including: eel cucumber, Philly, and spicy tuna, and also an order of drunken noodles with chicken. Everything was fresh and had great flavor! My only note would be is they didn't not ask how spicy I wanted the drunken noodles to be, it was more a one size fits all situation. If you don't like spicy I'd ask for mild or no spice, as they were a tad warm LOL which was perfect for me! If you are a noodle snob, these will rock your world as they were the correct thick ones and perfectly cooked. Also the portion was pretty big so I had enough leftover for lunch the next day. I want to just start off saying this place makes the most AMAZING soup dumplings I've had in the triad area. They were perfectly savory and not too runny with a delicious filling that had a perfect texture. The veggie and pork steamed buns were unfortunately a bit tough and the filling left a bit to be desired unfortunately. The waiter was pleasant. The restaurant is small but there's enough room for it not to feel too crowded when there's a lot of people there. Came tonight and there's a shellfish allergy at the table so I asked to substitute a crabmeat roll for a cheaper one already offered in the combo (spicy tuna, spicy crab, and spicy salmon come in the combo so I asked for another spicy tuna instead of crabmeat roll) and was told they'd charge me $2 extra. For a shellfish allergy. What? Lol.. then they came back 5mins saying fried rice is $3 extra when it was ordered with a meal for my fiancé. The other dish was orange chicken and chicken was so grisly and undercooked my fiancé literally spat it out. Tried another piece and had to spit it out as well. When bringing up this issue to server instead no care in the world so I asked for check, paid, left. Still won't ever be back. Nickel and dime you and not allergy friendly. I ordered my food through GrubHub. It was excellent! It's hard to find general tso that's isn't just fried batter and air. It was actually fresh meat, sweet with well enough spice!!!! The sushi is okay, to fulfill a craving every now and then. However, I'd like to rave about their hibachi plates and noodle dishes. My husband usually gets the steak hibachi which he loves, in addition to their sauces. The vegetables could be cooked longer, they tend to be a bit squeaky. Their pad see ew is spot on. I know I'm not a sushi purist. I scan the fancy roll list to see some key words for me: shrimp, lobster, eel, crab. The choice was made and Siri directed us where we needed to go. It's not a fancy place, but it's certainly no dive. Just right for the surrounding shopping area. The bathroom was very clean and there are ample tables and booths to choose from. First up, we ordered crispy calamari. There was a soup accompanying the seafood. The soup was on the spicier side and I thought it was great. My date and I finished it ALL! He had to pause because he thought it was pretty spicy, but I didn't think it was all that hot. Just flavorful and needing just a few sips of water every few bites or so. The calamari, we could have passed on. It was extremely hard and crunchy. The calamari itself was too tough for me to enjoy. I did like the addition of peppers, but after struggling to chew and swallow just one, I didn't want anymore. The sushi (Angry Lobster, Kiss Me, shrimp tempura and a fourth I can't remember) was delicious. The rolls were a great size- none of that all you can eat buffet mini sushi pieces. Well, we tried this new, upscale addition to the Greensboro food scene, and it was definitely a disappointment. This is an upscale restaurant with a variety of Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, and Thai dishes, and of course, Sushi and Sashimi - think Imperial Koi with a little more variety. The prices here are upscale as well, though the Hibachi prices are $5 - $7 less than IK, but overall, it is expensive, and frankly, overpriced. The Roti Canai ($4) is an Indian dish - pancake shaped bread with a Potato & Curry Dipping Sauce. The bread was as good as I've had, and this is a dish (or variations thereof) that I've had a number of times. The dipping sauce was simply awful, and any potato form or taste was long gone. The overwhelming taste was of sweetness, and nothing else could be detected. Would not reorder or recommend. The Shrimp Fried Rice ($11) was passable, but just barely, and at that price, just barely falls way short of acceptable. This fried rice is typical of most Japanese hibachi restaurants, and some Chinese (like PF Chang's) - it is wet, not made from day old rice, and had almost no flavor. Would not reorder or recommend. The Mongolian Beef ($13), was described as "Stir-fried scallions over crispy fried noodles", but the dish was filled with other vegetables, and the noodles were white, tasteless worms suitable for use in packaging. The beef consisted of thin slices of over-cooked steer. The entire dish had none of the spice or flavor of this great dish, when done authentically. Would not reorder or recommend. The Bird Nest with Crispy Potato Basket ($20), another classic dish that was in the form served, completely unrecognizable. If there were any shrimp in this dish, I failed to discover them, same with asparagus - yeap, asparagus. As to the chicken, same general condition as the beef in the above dish. At $20, this is over-valued off the charts. Ditto on reorder or recommend. The Vietnam Noodles ($12), no description given on menu. Best of the mess. Nice broth, tasty noodles, same road kill chicken. Ditto the ditto. The Kung Pao Jalapeno Chicken ($12). Well, by now you can pretty much guess about the state of the chicken. Again, this is a great dish, when authentically done - not handled well here. Jalapenos don't belong in this dish, and luckily I found none. Double ditto the ditto. This was an expensive lesson, but one I've had before - you never know until you try. The food we had was over-priced, and as far from authentic as I've encountered, even in this area where classic Chinese dishes are routinely butchered. The difference here is the price. Can't speak to the sushi, hibachi, etc - but I'd advise caution. read more

I was a 1st-time customer and will not be returning. My guest and I ordered our food and had a good experience when it came to the male server who took our order but when the food came out and wasn't to the liking of my guest, we asked to order something else. An Asian female came to the table and asked what the issue was and we shared how unpleasant the dish was that was ordered (fried rice). She then became argumentative and somewhat combative and said, "There's nothing wrong with this food." I then said in my normal calm voice, "I tasted it and it's not good. Can he order something else?" She didn't want to do that and continued to insist that there was nothing wrong with the food. She took the plate with the food on it and slammed it down on the table across from our table while looking and rolling her eyes. She grabbed a menu and asked what would we want to order instead. She was told and she compared what the new dish cost vs what was being sent back. Now, what I ordered was good but my guest's food just wasn't good and I have never seen a restaurant have issues with making sure a customer was satisfied. Especially since it was our 1st-time ever eating there which we made known. To make a long story short, the new dish was good BUT we are sure they cheated him out of some meat for that dish. Did not disappoint! Got into town late and many places were closing at 9pm on a Thursday. This one was open til 10, and despite the mixed reviews, we decided to give it a try. We are foodies, so we aren't easily pleased. Hostess was a little abrupt at first, but warmed up quickly. She got our drink orders and appetizer right away. Atmosphere was pleasant. Pop music playing in the background, but not loud, thankfully. Dividers had been built between booths (presumably due to the pandemic) which were unfinished wood, but they provided privacy which was nice. ALL food was delicious! Miso soup was tasty. Shrimp shumai (fried) was hot, fresh, lightly crisped, slightly sweet, with a yummy delicate flavor. Dragon roll (eel, avocado & cucumber) was so good we ordered a second one. Escolar (white tuna) sushi was fresh, tender, and delicious. Yellowtail and scallion roll was great. Perfect size...not ridiculously too large to get into your mouth, and it was skillfully rolled.
