This is Delicious's new location on Battleground. Same friendly people and same amazing desserts. The location is situated next to Red Cinema. The location is very parking friendly and it's easy to navigate. The location was a bit busy when I went, but the staff was completely unphased by it. They got us in and out without sacrificing great customer service. This location is spacious and would be great to drop in and work because they have a coffee bar inside. I got a slice of caramel cake and a double chocolate walnut cookie, which didn't even make it out of the parking lot. It was so good in fact, I contemplated going back in to get another one. I have stopped a few times and gotten a variety of items. On one of my stops I got a bacon, egg & cheese puff pastry along with a blueberry croissant. I'm here to tell you, I don't remember ever having any pastry better than these!! If you read my reviews, I'm kind of a pizza, pastry and ice cream connoisseur, so while I don't know much about sea food, I got these handled. Now, every time I go in I look for the BEC pastry, sometimes they have other breakfast items, sometimes they are sold out. So imagine my happiness today when I swung by and they had one left!! Here's to my 2nd visit to Delicious. I'm making my way through the vast selection of bakery goodies one visit at a time. This visit we got the huge sticky pecan buns; loaded with pecan and caramel. You would think it would be overly sweet but not so; it had a nice buttery, sweet balance which I have enjoyed with a cup of morning coffee. The new Delicious Bakery location slams it out of the park! We really liked the old spot, but this one is basically Delicious on steroids. A much larger space inside which is modern and super cozy. The variety here is incredible with endless sweet and savory options. This place has become one of the very best bakeries in Greensboro. We couldn't decide what to order so we grabbed a smorgasbord of goodies. Every single item hit the mark. The twice baked almond croissant was perfect, cruffin out of this world, scone top notch, cheddar chive biscuit a total home run, and the bacon egg and cheese pastry was absolutely superb. Here's the kicker: the prices are shockingly reasonable! We had five pastries and two coffees for just $27 total with tax, about three to four bucks per item. Most bakeries easily charge double if not more. Given the price and the quality, this is by far one of the best in town. Have you been to the new Delicious location?! Or have you even tried this bakery at all? The new location is far more modern but cozy just the same. What hasn't changed, the excellent customer service, affordable prices and mountainess selection of bakery items. I do have to say that the bakery items are just okay. It is nothing like, over the top for a bakery item. So if you expect to come here and find something very different from your normal bakery, you might not find it. What I mean is, when I read the menu before going in and saw a strawberry cream cheese croissant, I pictured a large buttery warm flaky croissant overstuffed with a whipped cream cheese with real strawberries. (That would be more like visiting a patisserie with much higher prices) However, what you get is more like a croissant you would buy at the grocery with fake strawberry filling and not sure what happened to the cream cheese. Next time I will try something different. Also please keep in mind, this is just my experience and always encourage everyone to go try it out for themselves. Everything is very clean and new and I cannot wait for summer to see how the patio does. Would love to meet some yelpies here for a coffee. A couple weeks ago Greensboro experienced snowstorm after snowstorm. I was so grateful that I stopped at delicious the day before the first storm. I can't believe that it's taken me this long to discover what for me is a hidden gym for desserts in Greensboro. I was familiar with this establishment at its own location and probably rode by it 1 million times without stopping. It is my understanding that the new location is much nicer and much bigger and when I walked in, it did not disappoint. First, it is one of the few dessert locations in the area that has ample parking where you're not fighting for your life just to get a sweet treat. Second, when you walk in it is very very inviting with tons of display cabinets, featuring cupcakes, cakes, squares and bars, as well as more savory items like scones, and one of my faves as of today the cheddar and chive biscuit, which is probably two times to three times as large as your normal biscuit. I walked in on a Friday afternoon. There was a few people perusing all the delicious offerings. I was quickly given some assistance and information from the attentive staff learning more about what they had to offer and ultimately landed on a slice of tiramisu, a slice of German chocolate cake, a pecan pie Square, and as I said, one of those famous cheddar and chive biscuits. When I think about what I have paid for similar items at other bakeries in the triad, this place was a steel. After enjoying a quarter of my biscuit, I jumped on yelp to immediately write a review so that anyone looking for a great dessert. This weekend would not pass this place up. It is located on battleground in the plaza right near the former red cinema. They definitely named this place right because everything I saw and tried was definitely delicious. My family and I have been going to Delicious Bakery since we moved here--about 15 years ago--and it's still our go-to spot for all things sweet. They've made my birthday cakes every year, and they always do a great job. I've also ordered wedding shower cakes, countless other birthday cakes, and every time the taste is consistently great. One thing I'd love to see is a little more variety in their flavors--just something different to switch things up now and then. Also, there have been a couple of times when I requested specific design work I saw featured on their website, and I was told they don't do that. That part was confusing and a little disappointing, since obviously it's something they do offer. This past Saturday, my friend and I visited the newer location. I had a caramel macchiato and a red velvet cupcake (sorry, no photo of that one), and my friend got a cheese danish and coffee. I really love the vibe of the new space--it feels more like a coffee shop where you can sit, relax, study, or catch up with friends. It's a big improvement over their previous location. All in all, I'd recommend Delicious Bakery to just about anyone. I honestly think it's better than Maxie B's--I once ordered a cake from them and the icing slid right off. I'm in town to celebrate the life of a family that recently transitioned, and decided to meet up with a friend that I haven't seen in 20 years. She suggested this cute bakery. All I can say is, "Wow! I can remember while in college over 10+ years ago (showing my age here) when my husband and I would go to Delicious' little bakery spot on battleground and get my triple chocolate brownie/pecan bar and a lemon bar for my dad. Not much has changed except a new, bigger, better location for Delicious and my sweet tooth has gotten even more out of control. Lucky for all of you, my sweet tooth has broken me out of my triple chocolate brownie/pecan bar comfort zone and I've been into trying different things I wouldn't normally try. Please check out that bread pudding. NOT something I'd normally get but when I saw it in the pan and they told me it comes with a caramel sauce welllll... ‍ And you guessed it - PHENOMENAL. So moist and rich, it'll take me 4 tries to eat it all! I did opt for my usual oatmeal cream pie which is different from others because they put a whipped icing inside making it not so much of a sugar bomb than some I've tried in the past. My husband being the cookie guy he is tried the classic snickerdoodle which everyone knows - you can't go wrong.
