US Sushi really had it dialed in today. From top to bottom, everything hit the mark. My experience today felt better than the 3.5 Yelp average. And based on price, this place is cheaper than many other sushi places in town. The interior was clean with fun Japanese decor throughout. And my server, Tiu, was fantastic. She was funny, knowledgeable, and attentive the whole time. I stuck with sushi, so I can't speak for the hibachi or bento boxes, but everything I ordered was spot on. Had nigiri: salmon roe, yellowtail, and salmon. All were fresh and high quality. Also tried three specialty rolls: Godzilla, HWY 68, and Crazy. Each one was flavorful, well-balanced, and beautifully presented. Whether you're looking for a quick lunch while shopping or a sit-down dinner with drinks, this place fits the bill. Although U.S. Sushi is not the best in the area, it's convenient when shopping and consistent in terms of food. Service is usually hit or miss. The seating is overdue for a redo, but they also haven't raised prices as much as comparable restaurants. Talk about value this place is quick, fresh, and an amazing bang for your buck. The bento lunch box runs you $10 for chicken hibachi with several sides including a sushi roll. US Sushi at Friendly Center is a solid spot. It was one of my first sushi spot when I moved to Greensboro in 2015. My recent visit, I placed a to-go order and was impressed by how quickly everything was ready and how it all fit together in the takeout box. 4 rolls in one box. The sushi was fresh and flavorful. You can tell they put care into the rolls even for takeout. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is I'd love just a little more variety and that they were open on Tuesday. Dinner with the family at us sushi was a great experience. Service was friendly and fast. We ordered the Godzilla , the extreme, tuna and the big mama rolls. The big mama has a good kick of spicy and we eat hot stuff. The rolls were fresh and tasty. I ordered the udon chicken soup. Not my favorite. It seemed to lack flavor. It was a large portion and served very hot. The restaurant is cute with bamboo decor nice booths and ample amounts of seating. One thing I appreciate about US Sushi is the Chef's consistency. Whether it is from the kitchen or the sushi bar our favorites always deliver with the same quality. I can also always count on a cheerful welcome as we are greeted. The staff here doesn't change often and they are a solid crew, always attentive and very friendly. I almost always ask to altar or substitute an item in my order and they have always been happy to make the change. I do feel that the menu can read a little repetitive with the multiple California Roll topped with options. And the sushi menu needs updating. With the cozy dim lighting of the restaurant itself, paired with the not so clear coloring and font of the menu, it can be hard to read. Considering it is the exact same menu on both sides, lightening up or even just one consistent background color would be nice. Enlarge the various sections and make both sides different giving each section larger font and room for descriptions. I've never needed to read both sides of the same menu. Menu aside US Sushi will remain on my repeat list. read more

We didn't have to wait long to be seated. Our table was a reasonable size to accommodate larger orders of food. As it should for the amount of food we ordered...lol My friend and I both ordered bento boxes. In hindsight sight, we should have ordered one bento box and split it. There is so much food. It comes with onion soup and salad. I ordered the chicken, but added and extra order of shrimp. It has a California roll, shrimp and veggie tempura, rice of your choice and gyoza. I'm getting full again thinking about this meal. You definitely get your monies worth. It was all very good. The shrimp was so tasty. I loved the tempura. It was exciting, because there was one of each type of vegetable...carrot, potato, broccoli and onion. I asked for sauce and our nice waiter brought plenty. Our waiter also visited our table very often for drink refills and to check on us. He was committed to providing great service. The bathroom was clean. There is an interesting layout to the place, but I like it. I love the ambience. I'm really excited about this place. Very conveniently located in Friendly shopping center, so you don't have to worry about parking even during the busier seasons. I've been going to US Sushi for many years and absolutely love their sushi, and in my opinion they have the absolute best white sauce in town! Their prices are also very good in comparison to other sushi joints, and their lunch special are great. I love that you can sit at the sushi bar at either location, and there are plenty of other seating options. I don't have specific names for these rolls as I have tried just about every single roll over the years and loved them all, including the sashimi and nigiri. I also sometimes order their hibachi, and it is pretty great most of the time. Why not 5 stars? The sushi is ALWAYS good. No complaints there. Sometimes the hibachi chicken and rice can be a bit dry, it just depends on the night. I also feel like maybe they could do a few updates to their restaurants, especially the High Point location. I have no complaints on cleanliness, but I can see where others might have concerns based on its physical appearance. A local competitor far surpasses them on this comparison. All in all, US Sushi is my go to sushi spot in Greensboro or High Point (especially HP). It's conveniently located, usually very solid, and the service is quick and efficient. I recommend US all the time and have rarely ever had a complaint from someone I've sent there. read more

I came here for the first time yesterday and I would have to say it's alright, not the best hibachi chicken I've had but definitely not the worst either. The chicken was sort of dry and I was expecting more rice since it was around $18, but the vegetables and soup were amazing. Fast and friendly service. The dining area is chairs are comfortable chairs and the layout is set up where most of the seating is a booth. The miso soup came out immediately after ordering. This is our son's first time having Japanese and he loved the miso soup and kids steak hibachi meal. My wife and I shared a Strip steak and Salmon Hibachi Dinner Box. US Sushi in Friendly Shopping Center has been a staple of mine since I first tried and figured out I like sushi. They're "old faithful" as my husband and I always say. After a day of shopping or any other reason we are in the Friendly area, it's a no brainer that we should stop in for a fabulous, unique roll at US Sushi. Some of our favs include the Godzilla roll, Carolina roll, any sort of sashimi platter (this is the "sushi regular" with a California roll) and can't forget the shrimp hibatchi w/ white rice and miso soup! The service can be hit or miss depending on the day and who we have as our server but it never deters us from enjoying a meal here. One of our favs in Greensboro for sure! read more

Jade was an excellent server and overcame the post Covid world challenges tonight. They were obviously short staffed but I am patient. It took 20 min to greet our table but as busy as she was, we had her complete and undivided attention. Our drinks came out quickly and the food was not far behind. The Spicy Tuna salad was great and the Titanic containing our food pulled up to the table behind that. Oh.... Looking at the menu again I see there is actually a titanic.... I was in the area, wanted sushi and decided to stop here for a bite. They were busy and understaffed, they let me now this up front so this is not a reflection of the server at all, she was very good. I started with a Roy Roger (coke with grenadine) and the miso soup. The soup was alright, nothing to dial home about. The steamed beef gyoza were the best part of my meal, the sweet dipping sauce they're served with was good as well, good portion of filling in the dumplings; I would recommend getting them pan-fried as they were a little too soft steamed. The sushi here is pretty good and will do if you want something quick. I ordered the Hot Night Roll (spicy CA roll topped with spicy tuna, scallion & crunchy) and the Oishi Roll (eel, avocado, cucumber topped with shrimp, crab, crunchy, masago, eel sauce & special sauce). The spicy tuna on top of the hot night roll has a delayed heat but still had good spice. The Oishi roll was as busy as it sounds but good for a cooked roll, had to leave two pieces at the restaurant as I could finish it all. I asked for a low sodium soy sauce but maybe the bottles were filled incorrectly because what I received, although it said low sodium, definitely was not. With the other reviews, I'll probably be back to try to the bento lunch special & may try a few other sushi rolls. read more

The place is very cute, with a nice atmosphere. The decor, the lamps, and some geishas on the top of the booths give it a very traditional look. As for the food, the sushi was delicious my favorite was the Cherry Blossom roll, it was so fresh and I enjoyed every bite of it. Stopped by for a quick dinner. I wasn't super hungry so I only got one roll and two nigiri. Nigiri is my favorite! I also got the onion soup. The soup was hot and fresh with lots of crunchy pieces in it. The nigiri shrimp was perfect, same with the crab. The roll I got was called the Oishi roll--with crunchy, shrimp, and crab on top and eel, avocado, and cucumber inside. It was super filling and very rich! I couldn't finish it. Service was just okay. This was my first time trying US Sushi. I thought that service was very good and attentive, however I didn't really enjoy the food. Some of it was my fault for assuming though. I thought that the entire roll would be fried but it just had two pieces, the first and last, that had the fried, soft shelled crab meat. I tried some of my wife's shrimp and steak hibachi. The steak was not seasoned and very tough. Also, I didn't enjoy the flavor of the shrimp. All in all, this was my experience. Yours may be different. A small little place located in a strip mall. We were lucky that we got there before dinner. When we left it was a wait and a line. The service was fast. They have a nice sushi menu both cooked and not cooked. A lot of different combinations. The prices of the sushi was very reasonable. There were other choices like hibachi, katsu and other Japanese dishes. So many too choose from! The side salad was pretty big for a minimal price. Our shrimp tempura appetizer came out fast and hot!
