As always food and service was amazing from the food truck. Love that they do these pop ups. The tuna and salmon sashimi tasted super fresh and were portioned generously. The seaweed salad might be my favorite thing on the menu it's so simple but so good. I legitimately could eat it every day

Chirashi with salmon from Sushi Empire's Food Truck at the Foothills Brewing Tasting Room.

I caught up with Sushi Empire's food truck at Foothills Brewing Tasting Room in Winston-Salem. A perfect choice that went really well with my tasty beer and my wife's "enhanced" seltzer. Dinner tonight was the chirashi and it was well loaded. Lots of salmon, lots of tasty veggies and a base of perfect light rice. Just tons of texture and flavor, I only lost half of it to my wife. I would definitely choose them again! [Review 1776 of 2024 - 3696 in North Carolina - 22799 overall]

Paradise roll and tempura crunch roll

So happy to see sushi empire in Lexington. This sushi is top notch and some of the best I've had. It blows me away that it's out of a food truck but I think it makes it that much cooler. We got a poke bowl and two rolls and it was all incredibly fresh and absolutely delicious. I'll for sure be on the lookout for where they are going to be week to week.

Friendly service and very knowledgeable. Stopped by for a sample of their sushi. Delicious. I wish them luck in repairing their truck as I would love to try out more of their food. This review is based purely on my experience at the Yelp event.

You HAVE to try this ramen place. I am drooling thinking about how incredible this spot was. My…read morebest friend and I were on a road trip from Richmond, VA to Asheville and this was the halfway point. We were heading to AVL for my bachelorette and throughout the weekend we kept going "GOD THAT RAMEN WAS SO GOOD!" We came on a Wednesday evening. It took a little to get seated and service was on the slower side, but it was worth it. There was a lot of indoor seating and we were seated at a booth. They have mens and womens restrooms at this restaurant. And a lot of free parking out front in their parking lot. We started off with an Alaska roll as an appetizer. This was really delicious! We knew we were off to a great start. I got the black garlic ramen and my best friend got the red spicy oil ramen. We were in heaven. This ramen is beyond delicious. The rich garlicy broth of mine was perfection. Each element was so yummy. I would drive the 3.5 hours back just to get this ramen again. I highly recommend going.

This was the worst food pickup experience my husband and I have ever had. My husband was treated…read moreterribly by this establishment when he went to pick up our dinner order. He (an African American male) was treated terribly from the moment he went inside. First, the receptionist acted funny toward him and non-friendly, as if he was stealing someone else's order. That was strike number 1. Then, when he got home, we realized our order was absolutely wrong. We were missing the Spider Rolls and the yellow tail. We spent almost $70 so of course, this was irritating. He called the restaurant on his way to get the missing items and once again, the receptionist was rude. She questioned if he knew what yellow tail and spider rolls looked like. Questioning and insulting his intelligence as a grown man. That was strike number 2. He asked to speak to a manager and he said there wasn't one and he would need to come tomorrow to speak to one....yeah ok. He told her that wouldn't be necessary because he was pulling up to the restaurant in about a minute. When he came in she continued to argue with him about his order and told him, he needed to bring it back...why would he bring back the items that were right in the order, when he was there for the MISSING ITEMS?! Not to mention, that's extremely unsanitary! She would not help him but instead argued so badly with him that the chef had to come out of the kitchen. The receptionist spoke to my husband as if he was a child. She talked to him as if he was a thief and a liar. Strike number 3. The chef then told my husband, he would take care of the missing items for him and to not worry. Now, why couldn't the receptions in treat him with the same respect and dignity that the chef did? I'll tell you why. She racially profiled him because of the demographics of the city where the restaurant is located. She treated him as if he was uncultured, ignorant, and a liar. We will never be back and will be sure to write every single person that matters and leave reviews all over the internet exposing this racist establishment. I will be sure that everyone knows exactly what happens when a black person enters the restaurant.

The sushi quality is honestly so good for all-you-can-eat, and they have such a huge variety to choose from. I also love that you can try different rolls without feeling limited to just one or two. The service has always been friendly and fast every time I've gone, and the atmosphere is nice whether you're going for a casual lunch or dinner with friends. We aren't big eaters, but the rolls we like are usually pricier than $15.99 so it was a steal for us. We were seated pretty quickly. The space is huge and it was packed for a Monday lunch. We filled out our sushi order cards. Unfortunately, our table and pencils were left a bit sticky from the previous people. My friend's miso soup came out almost immediately. I got an Alaska roll and an eel avocado roll. They were good for the price! My friend enjoyed a spicy tuna roll and Philly roll. The rolls are good, but nothing to write home about. They had women and mens restrooms and plenty of parking out front. There were also a bunch of cute figurine vending machines at the entrance.

However, I finally made it back for AYCE. The first time I came I wasn't super impressed (it's been a while), but this time?! Blew me away! Now let me just say you can expect a wait no matter what day you go. My friend and I came on a Thursday evening right at 5 (when they open) and the line was already down the sidewalk. There's various seating options, including your traditional floor style seating. Personally, I prefer a table so I can comfortably get my gluttonous grub on. And that we did. We had 8 rolls (I know! We felt it, too) plus the pepper tuna (2 orders!) and jalapeno yellowtail. I seriously haven't stopped thinking about this meal, especially the pepper tuna! Must order. Everything was fresh, and the rolls aren't skimpy whatsoever! Keep in mind you could get charged for what you don't eat so be reasonable when ordering. You can't beat the price ($23.99 with no sashimi, $30.99 with sashimi). Highly recommend!
