    Zucchini and onions
    Devon E.

Full transparency, this wasn't our original dinner destination, but honestly so glad the other place fell through and we came here. Inside was very clean, staff super attentive, and the meal delicious. While not as popular as they used to be, I still think a teppanyaki table dining experience is super fun. I like the entertainment and theatrics part of it all. This time since we came closer to closing, our foursome got a table to ourselves which is even better. Our Chef was very entertaining, friendly, and presented us with a very generous portion. To start we ordered some bottles of cold, filtered sake to share. For my Hibachi Dinner Entree, I ordered the Scallops and Chicken Combination. For the proteins themselves, I got my scallops first. They were varying sizes, but had a good sear on them all. Super buttery and yummy. Chicken was the last protein prepared but once received it was very tasty. As standard, the meal comes with the Japanese clear/onion soup which has a few mushrooms, broth, and some little noddles in it. I love soup so I am always happy with this starter. It was warm, flavorful, and a larger sized bowl than you get at similar places. Next is the salad, for which I selected the robust ginger dressing. It's a basic green salad, but the robust ginger is supposed to be a bit spicier and has a deeper color. Not sure there a was major difference from typical ginger, but I liked it. Up next is my personal favorite, the fried rice. We were given so much fried rice, wow. I was glad to see they still include egg even with prices going up. The rice was super fluffy and flavorful. The zucchini and onions were sautéed nicely in soy sauce and again a huge portion, which makes you feel a bit better to eat it with more rice. They still do the 2 appetizer shrimps here which was a nice surprise. Finally, the sauces. It might be the best part of these places. I kinda feel bad saying yes to every sauce they offer, but I love them all. Ginger, White, Hot Sauce, Teriyaki, and Hot Mustard. I don't know what Japanese restaurants do when they make their Hot Mustard sauce, but it is far superior to any bottled option I have tried from a Grocery store (they are just too horseradishy it's so much more balanced here). Wish I could buy it by the bottle. I also like to mix Sriracha in the White sauce, it cuts down on the sweetness a bit. I ate so much and still had a full to-go box to take from for another meal (honestly two). So while an entree price in the $30 and above range may seem high, you are getting appetizer, entree cooked to order, and another full meal. It's a great (and delicious) deal. Fire and Stick is a little bit of a drive from home for me, but I was extremely satisfied with my meal and recommend!

Superb hibachi! :) The wait time to be seated was very short and our server was prompt and friendly. The chef put on a fun show while cooking and the meal itself was delicious! The vegetable medley has an abundant variety of veggies + tofu, which was a nice touch. The ambiance was super fun as well! Clean space with nice themed decor. Also, leftover reheated well. Would definitely visit again!

We wanted to take our granddaughter to experience a Japanese hibachi restaurant. We read the reviews and this looked good and it was close. We made a reservation, arrived on time, and were seated fairly promptly. The waiting area looked a little worn. It was in need of an update as did the rest of the place. It needs a refresh. The noise level was a bit high but the table next to us had a large birthday group. For dinner we ordered the filet mignon and the filet with chicken combo. The Granddaughter got the kids hibachi chicken. The filet on both plates was very good. The meat and the chicken had a great flavor. I noticed the people next to us got ribeye and it was very thin. It's worth the extra money to upgrade to filet mignon. Also I would skip the combo as the portion of meat is less on it. Our chef wasn't as entertaining as I would've liked but he could cook. The waitress was attentive looking after your drinks and other needs. Overall it wasn't bad.

We visited Fire & Sticks on a Saturday night. I would highly recommend making a reservation as they fill up quickly and the wait can be long without one! The food was good & plentiful, and the experience was fun. Definitely recommend this Hibachi experience for your next family night out!

Such a great meal I didn't take pictures. Enjoy the empty plate before they piled my scallops and filet on it.

Great date night. I'm one of those people who can talk to anyone. Luckily the family next to us was likewise. Good food and great service from our chef. I love going here because it's more about the food and less about the shrimp tails flying into the hat or onion volcano. No jokes about the egg roll. Just cook the food. And it was cooked perfectly. Service was meh. I got a glass of wine but finished it and my water well before she came by to fill the water glass. No mention of the second glass.... Did t get it. Never did get any more water. 4 stars for the chef. The server wasn't great but we had a good time.

Had a great Birthday dinner celebration! The chef at our table was extremely entertaining, not just cooking but cracking jokes as well. He had a great personality. The restaurant was abuzz with activity Very fun place for a group dinner. The food was delicious and in abundance. I think everyone in our party took a to go box home. Even the guys! Highly recommend.

We had a table for 12 people so gratuity is included. Our server was very attentive and nice. Our chef was good, not as lively as they can be but he cooked our food and was through. We all really enjoyed our food! We've been quite a bit to Fire and Sticks and we'll go again!

Always enjoy this for a birthday treat! They offer a great bday coupon if you sign up online. The service is entertaining and funny, chatting with you while they cook. And the dining room is spacious with large group seating around the hibachi tables. The portions are very generous and I always leave with plenty of leftovers. The fried rice, teriyaki chicken, and yum yum sauce just mixes so well- I love the taste! And the ginger dressing on the salad is also so good. I have tried to find that at the grocery store but can't seem to find a good substitute. Always a fun time !

This was the first time I have ever been here. I will say the place is beautiful and very clean and laid out very nice. We had a small group of 7 people and we where sat down at a table after all of us had arrived. We all got our soup and salad and then ordered. I had the steak and chicken hibachi and it was cooked to perfection. I had some shrimp as well and they where some of the best I had ever had. The bill really wasn't as bad as I thought for as many people we had. I would recommend this place to anyone who likes hibachi. Only thing I saw that may cause a issue was the don't serve sushi anymore. Other than that everything was great.

We didn't have reservations but were seated right away, which made for an easy start to the evening. The space has a modern, relaxed vibe that feels perfect for a casual dinner or drinks. We started with the Lobster Nachos, which were a fun twist since they're made with crispy potato wedges instead of chips. They were topped with lobster, bacon, scallions, and a creamy sauce: rich, indulgent, and great for sharing. For the main dish, I had the Ribeye steak with a side of cauliflower mash. The steak had a nice sear and great flavor, and the cauliflower mash was smooth, creamy and delicious, making it a great alternative to traditional mashed potatoes. A solid first visit with flavorful dishes and a welcoming atmosphere. Earl's Landing is a great new addition to the downtown High Point dining scene, and I'm looking forward to coming back to try more of the menu. It closed in early February for what were supposed to be renovations, only to reopen months later with a new name and a new concept, trading slightly upscale Southern for more upscale Italian. In some regards, this makes sense - it fills a void created by the closure of Lulu and Blu - but in other ways, it's a massive gamble. My wife and I went for our anniversary dinner, and while it was an overall pleasant experience, it also made us miss Magnolia. The higher price point is the chief culprit. Otto and Blue offers pastas in the $20s and entrees starting in the $30s, bread and olive oil not included. While we were celebrating an occasion that merited such a splurge, it's hard to imagine the restaurant remaining competitive at those prices once the sheen of newness wears off. Look past that, however, and Otto and Blue shines in both ambiance and service. It's classy without being stuffy, and the dark turquoise tones suit it well. Allison, a Magnolia Blue mainstay, was personable and attentive and provided excellent service throughout the meal. Otto and Blue's menu offers apps, salads, pastas, and entrees. It's predominantly Italian albeit with a few options for the steak-and-potatoes crowd. The dishes range from recognizably classic (rigatoni Bolognese) to conspicuously elevated (halibut piccatta). After mulling over several offerings, we went with the bread service, tagliatelle, and duck cacciatore. The food ranged from fairly good to outstanding. While $9 for bread is a tough pill to swallow, they executed it as well as they possibly could have: a hot, fresh ciabatta with tasty herb butter, olive relish, and a quality olive oil-balsamic combo as accompaniments. The cacciatore boasted a pair of duck legs confit, and while I'm usually no fan of dark meat poultry, these were prepared well with crispy skin and plenty of meat. For a typically hearty dish, the sauce seemed light (and a bit subdued), but that could be a consequence of serving atop polenta (more absorbent) rather than pasta. Speaking of pastas and sauces, the tagliatelle hit a nice balance of creamy and zesty without swimming in its white wine lemon sauce. Surprisingly, the highlight of the meal ended up being the dessert that Otto and Blue kindly offered as an anniversary gift. A scoop of vanilla bean gelato came adorned with a Biscoff cookie, a drizzle of olive oil, and a dash of salt. If salt and especially olive oil on ice cream seem vaguely blasphemous, don't knock it until you try it. Each bite was thoroughly delicious. It's a given that good food doesn't come cheap, but even so, Otto and Blue has no margin for error to justify what it charges. On food alone, it was close but not quite there. However, the overall experience made it worthwhile, and I have no regrets about dining here.

I don't know if the ownership has changed or if they just made some decisions to alter things, but either way it changes our opinion of the place. First and most important for us, they used to be the only place we were aware of in NC to get Gluten Free Crab Cakes which was a major reason we frequented Sammy G's. That has apparently changed and the new Gluten Free menu is basically just the meats menu which is a real shame. It looks like they have made some other small changes to the regular menu as well, none of those were all that concerning but the loss of this GF treat is a real blow for us. If you are a celiac and found reviews about the GF crab cakes, please be aware they appear to be gone now. Additionally, the prices across the menu seem to have gone up by a few dollars. When you consider that Sammy G's was never a cheap place to eat, and given the state of the economy these days, that actually does come out to a noticeable change and makes it harder to justify going. However, with the loss of the old GF options, it's unlikely we'll come back anywhere near as often as we used to.

We were greeted by Freya, who had a great personality and provided fantastic service all evening while we were there. Can't speak highly enough of her! They have a comprehensive wine menu and a full bar. I started with a Lemon Drop Martini which was delicious, and later had a glass of Merlot as well which was tasty as well. They had warm fresh bread on the table with butter which was great since we were all very hungry. For my meal, I ordered the Halibut Large Plate. This was a lightly crisp blackened piece of Halibut topped with lump grab and a sauce, then served atop a piece of andouille sausage, asparagus, and creamy grits. There were SO MANY flavors perfectly balanced together here with a variety of textures to enjoy as well. I have nothing but good things to say about this. Blue Water Grille is fairly expensive and not somewhere you would come regularly, but for a special outing or a date night it is a great treat. The menu is seafood heavy and non-seafood items also pack a lot of flavor, so be aware that there are limited options for that picky eater in your party who perhaps wants a more plain chicken dish. As an aside - Someone in my party got the Mac & Cheese small plate and it looked fantastic. Definitely something I'm going to order next time!

Between excellent service, from the host to the kitchen staff, and being a bright, cheery place decorated in a modern farmhouse feel (only complaint is the HARD seating), we love this place. The food is always delicious and seasoned perfectly with FLAVOR. For the appetizer, the Salad Pizza is absolutely scrumptious and was recommended by our server our first visit here last year. Honestly, it keeps bringing us back. The flavors are incredible. It has feta, mozzarella, topped with organic greens, shaved onions, tossed in a lemon/dijon dressing with shaved parmesan. It's a flavor bomb in the mouth. The meatloaf, is to die for. If you're a meatloaf eater this is for you. It's so tender and juicy and perfectly seasoned. Melts in your mouth and the sauce on top is the perfect blend of sweet and savory to top it off. For my two sides this time I chose the fried brussels sprouts and the greens. The greens are always seasoned perfectly and the brussels sprouts were crispy and full of flavor. They tasted even better dipped in my meatloaf sauce so that was a win-win. My boyfriend had the special which was short ribs. For his two sides, he had greens and green beans. The short rib was perfectly tender and absolutely delicious full of flavor and moist for him. The green beans and the greens were also perfect as well full of flavor, just enough fat and butter. It's a great little date spot or a family dinner. They also have outdoor seating covered with umbrellas.
