Ordered Pecan Crusted Chicken with loaded garlic mashed potatoes, Honey Bourbon Beef Tips with loaded baked potato, Shrimp Caesar Salad, and Kids Grilled Cheese with sweet potato mash. Bread (served with whipped butter) was fresh & delicious. Crab & Corn Chowder was tasty but thin like a soup (I expect a chowder to be thick) and very little crab & corn (mostly broth). Husband had Black Bean soup and seemed to enjoyed it. Server was being shadowed and the extra hands were helpful (we enjoyed the extra attention). Food arrived promptly and to temp. Pecan Crusted Chicken was tender and juicy. The bourbon cream sauce was more of a thick glaze (lacked cream?), was thick and very rich (fortunately it was on the side). Husband tips were ordered medium rare and a bit more red than anticipated but he rather have his steak slightly underdone vs overdone (menu has description of various temps for reference). Oldest child demolished her Shrimp Caesar Salad. Youngest child enjoyed her grilled cheese and sweet potato mash. Portions were decent, servers were attentive. Ambience was intimate. Definitely would consider visiting again for special occasion. read more

Took a party of six to dinner, steak wasn't cooked to order, asked the waitress (Amber) to take the steak back to the chef, I knew I was in trouble when I was asked to put my steak on a side plate to be returned to the chef, the rest of my party received their meals and finished eating. After 20 minutes a member of my party got up to ask where the steak was, the baked potato was still on my plate and now cold, the waitress never returned, a manager returned, never apologized said it was the waitress's fault for taking my order when I requested Pittsburgh style, he brought the steak back, at this point my party was done, this is a Steakhouse not a McDonald's, awful service, manager has no level of customer service. Yikes, this place left a ton to be desired. Food was ordered to-go, and the first issue noticed was that they provide extremely flimsy plasticware. You know what I'm talking about. For a steakhouse, imagine trying to eat a steak or chicken with flimsy silverware. For the prices they charge, they could at minimum provide sturdier utensils. Even much cheaper restaurants will provide that. Second, most if not all the food is premade or frozen. Onion rings taste exactly like the frozen kind you get at Walmart. The chicken tenders are $15 and you get 3 measly looking tenders hardly bigger than a chicken nugget. The grilled chicken entrees are so dry and so tough that you literally can't bite through the exterior from how old/dry it is. I will give credit to the sweet potato mash as it was actually pretty tasty. Lastly, the bread pudding is terrible. The inside is completely dry with zero flavor, and it tastes exactly like a prepackaged angel food cake. This can't be made in house as any other bread pudding I've ever had was actually flavorful, moist, and decadent throughout the entire bread. Another gripe is that the restaurant is knowingly practicing fraudulent business practices. Their online menu does not mention anywhere that they will increase all menu prices by 3% if you pay by credit card. Their online menu prices are NOT what you will actually be charged if you use card. Most businesses have to explicitly state this surcharge both on physical and digital menus. The fact that they don't do that here is really misleading and not a business to support. And then on top of that they have the gall to calculate tip percentages on the surcharge price. So if you pay with card, your tip they calculate is also inflated. I don't recommend coming here if you're looking for quality food by an honest business. read more

We went here on a business trip with a group of seven. We were overall disappointed. Everything was way overpriced. Here is a breakdown: The Good: Fried Green Tomatoes appetizer was really good! The brussel sprouts were good. Wine had a heavy pour, and the berry mojito was awesome. Steak was high quality meat. Service was good. The Bad The tiny shrimp in the Grilled Voodoo Shrimp appetizer was a huge letdown. For $18, the shrimp should not look like they came off a shrimp ring from Walmart. Went here for a work event, so I am sorry but this review has no pictures ;(. We got here for lunch on a Monday and it was not busy (almost too quiet) but it was a rainy day. The parking lot is spacious so had no issues witn parking or finidng the location. They service was somewhat slow in getting the food out after the order but before that it was quick. Hot ky drinks order in right away and the menu as well. We got the calamari, gator bites and the salmon with a side of seasonal veggies and it was all pretty good. The calamari came on a bed black and red beans which was a nice touch (i liked the beans more than the calamari itself tbh), then the gator bites were crispy and came with the slaw and finally the salmon was great too. I would say the portion size for the fish compared to most other restaurants but it was down well. The hollandaise sauce and asparagus it cane with was lretty good too, and so were the season veggies i got on the side. The restaurant had a very corp feel to it, with the servers whispering and walking quietly. The seating atleast were we sat was such that we were very isolated from neighbouring tables so did not have any cross talk happening. All in all the ambience was quiet and formal in my kpion. We were a group of 10, and she handled everything with ease, taking the time to explain menu items and offer helpful recommendations. Truly top-notch service. Now that we've got that out of the way. I was not impressed with Steak Street-at all. The Brussels sprouts were undercooked, barely warm, and lacked flavor --definitely a letdown. My salmon was cooked well and had some flavor, but nothing memorable. My husband tried the ribs and while they were fall off the bone good, lacking in sauce. Was a little nervous to start. We were seated and hostess didn't tell server. Server came over, apologized and sent manager. Manager apologized and offered free dessert. That was above and beyond and appreciated. We didn't prompt or ask. Ambiance was great. Live music tonight. We were nervous. Sometimes it's just too loud with live music. The music selection was perfect, volume loud enough to know its live and soft enough not to disrupt the meal. Just right. The food was wonderful. The sprouts were a little overcooked (too crunchy/oily) but good flavor. The steak I ordered was cooked a little more than I ordered but was so full of flavor and tender I still really enjoyed it. I had not been to this upscale restaurant on the far western side of Greensboro in quite awhile, so I decided to have lunch there recently. The interior is nicely appointed with a modernistic theme. My experiences here have been hit or miss, and the misses are a bit painful since this is not an inexpensive spot, and finding a value meal here is hard to, if at all possible. I was quickly seated, menu provided, drink order secured. I decided on a Shrimp Cocktail, and Baby Back Ribs with Onion Rings as a side. The Stella Artois was soon on the table, quickly followed by the Shrimp Cocktail, featuring 5 well sized, very fresh tasting shrimp. The cocktail sauce was excellent with just the right amount of horseradish - sharp but not too much. The Ribs were very nice, as well - very tender, almost falling off the bone. The sauce was a nice combination of sweet and spicy , bring the dish together very well. The Onion Rings were the lesser item in this meal, not bad, just OK! This was a nice meal in a very pleasant environment. The food and service were stars on this trip. This place continues to surprise and confuse a bit - each trip is a package waiting to be opened, the contents unknown. I do gamble some, so I roll the dice again at a later point. read more

Ate here Saturday with a reservation at 5:00. We were taken to our table as soon as we arrived. The waitress was beyond amazing explaining their signature steaks and checking in with us regularly. This is a regular stop for my work dinners. The appetizers win the show for me. It's not the place I order a steak- even though their name steers you otherwise. We have visited Steak Street for a few special occasions and they never disappoint. Recently we had a 10-person celebration for my mom's birthday. Even for small groups and couples, I recommend making a reservation. The hostess wasn't especially welcoming, but we were seated promptly at the time of our reservation. Our waitress was very sweet and quickly took our drink orders. They have a great wine selection as well as several cocktails and beers. I got a classic strawberry daiquiri and it tasted great. For dinner, I choose the grilled salmon paired with sweet potato mash and green beans. I also tried some of my husbands traditional mashed potatoes, I liked his better. Also, my green beans were a little over cooked. Otherwise, my meal was very good. We wrapped up with a chocolate cake that was beautifully decorated with "Happy Birthday" in chocolate (I arranged this when making the reservation). Overall, this was a great visit. My lunch at Steak Street was well deserving of 5 stars and maybe more. From the food and the service, the wait time and the atmosphere, I really had a lovely experience! Some coworkers and I came for lunch and we arrived around 11:45am. We were greeted and seated immediately. Our server was on it the whole time! Kind, and spent just the right about of time checking on us after we ordered. The bread service he offered was just delicious. Our rolls were soft and warm and paired well with the sort of whipped butter. My salmon with vegetables was cooked perfectly. It had the right amount of seasoning. I ate every last bite and could have eaten another piece of that salmon honestly. The only qualm I had at all was the price for lunch, which was a little expensive in my opinion, however the flavor and quality made up for that small bit of doubt or frustration. I can't sing their customer service praises enough! We never went without drink refills and everything was perfectly timely. I will definitely return and perhaps next time try a steak. I am a sucker for ambiance and this is a great choice for a romantic dinner. There is a very talented one man band who sings love songs, we were there on a Saturday night so not sure how many days in the week he does that but I LOVE LOVE LOVE his vibe. The restaurant is covered in little white lights. It has a New Orleans theme which for High Point is different. We had the fried green tomatoes, sprinkled with a little crab on top, they were delicious but I did wish the aioli was a little spicier. I had the house salad with a crab cake and it was great, my sweetie had the bourbon steak tips and they were great, the plate looked a little empty so I think they should have added a couple of sprigs of asparagus to fill that huge plate but no complaints with the meal at all. So I happened to be in the area of an old shipmate from almost 20 years ago. So this occasion calls for a big juicy steak of course. So I find this place called Steak Street. And it was real nice. The atmosphere that was on point. So my guess and I arrived and I was quickly greeted by a big smiling face and some holiday music LOL. The wine list was so big and my friend don't drink anymore so I just stuck with a classic drink a red Sangria. The bartender made it right too. My guess had the Arnold Palmer. We started with their onion rings for our appetizer. Once we figured out what we want it. We went with the house salad and then a medium and a medium well ribeye. With mash sweet potatoes which was extremely good and some asparagus. By the way our waitress with the big smile stayed until we cut our steak to make sure it was perfect and they were. We was asked if we had room for dessert. The answer was yes because on their menu was a bourbon bread pudding homemade. So that was a no-brainer. And it was one of the best desserts I've had in a while. It was so big that I had to take half of it back to the hotel. The staff kept our glasses full while my friend and I talked about old times in the Navy. I enjoyed that they checks on us every 15 minutes and I enjoyed the time spent with my old shipmate. This is a nice steakhouse with an extensive wine selection. Definitely worth checking out. The food tasted great and the portions were a good size. I had a spinach salad with steak. I recommend asking for their bacon balsamic vinaigrette dressing! They have a lot of wines to choose from, several local beers, and one of my favorite ciders - The Cherry Bobbin Trolls. It's not an easy cider to find in this area so I was pleasantly surprised! And I definitely want to go back to try one of their wine flights. The atmosphere was nice and everyone was friendly. A little on the fancy side but there is not a dress code. It was not at all crowded for dinner on a Saturday. But if you are worried about finding a seat, they do take reservations. read more

Is Steak Street under new management? ....cause our experience tonight left much to be desired. It started out wrong, we made a reservation for a birthday party. When we arrived with two balloons, they advised that balloons were not allowed inside the restaurant. So we put the balloons back in the car. We requested a kid's menu for my daughter and the server advised that the kid's menu was for kids 13yrs and under. I said "She's 12yrs old." He paused - looked at my daughter and then sarcastically said, "Ok I'll believe you." I asked him how old she looked to him? He said "She looks about 15yrs old to me but if you say she's 12 then ok." Halfway thru my salad, I found a hair. I alerted the server. The server apologized and then said the manager offered me a free side salad. The manager never came by to apologize or anything. There was no live music either. There might have been one other table seated in that place apart from our party of 15. I am guessing they are under new management because the Steak Street experience has seriously fallen off....or maybe this was an off night but it was far less than what I expected. read more

Would have been 5 stars but the prime rib was just good not great- everything else was wonderful. We had 6p Friday reservations and we're seated promptly by a kind and friendly host. The waitress was prompt to intro herself and take our drink order which arrived quickly. We ordered several apps for the table which all arrived quickly and were excellent. The calamari was particularly good but highly recommend the tips tournedo, voodoo shrimp, fried oysters and Caesar salad. The waitress was attentive throughout our meal while never rushing us through the meal even though the restaurant was full and we were several bottles of wine in. Now for the prime rib... as a Friday and Saturday special, and at $46, I have a presumption it will be an excellent dish. It is labeled a 12oz portion but for the $$ the rib left me wanting more. The mashed sweets were very good, as was the okra. Thankfully my wife ordered the braised short rib which was excellent and a very very generous portion. Overall an excellent dining experience which i will no doubt look to replicate next time we're in town. read more
