I had one of the best bone in steaks in life at this restaurant the other day. It was seasoned just right and cooked to perfection.

So first off the staff, our server lakeisha was phenomenal. She was the sweetest and made the birthday celebration super special. The kitchen staff was awesome as well and came out to say hi to us. The restaurant as a whole is a vibe and the night we went their was live music. The menu is a little steep but delicious, I mean that salad was huge and the chicken seasoned perfectly The crab soup was good but I didn't find much crab meat but the taste was great. This is definitely a great date place or place for a girls night for drinks!

Went to Chophouse for an office lunch and had a really good experience overall. The service was a bit on the slower side, which was noticeable given that we were on a lunch break, but the staff was polite and attentive once they got to us. I ordered the fish with the house salad, and it was excellent--fresh, flavorful, and surprisingly filling. Several of my colleagues tried different items on the menu and everyone seemed pretty happy with their meals. The restaurant itself is very clean, spacious, and has a professional, upscale vibe that makes it perfect for business lunches or more formal gatherings. There's also plenty of seating, so we didn't feel cramped or rushed. One of the highlights was definitely the parking situation--a massive lot with tons of space, which is always a plus when you're coming with a group. I didn't get a drink, but my colleagues tried the tea and said it was really good. I'll probably go for it next time. Overall, while the pace could have been a bit quicker, the food and environment made up for it. I'd definitely come back--maybe for dinner next time when there's less of a time crunch.

When I went to Chop House I had a very pleasant experience. The service was cordial and polished, the atmosphere elegant, and the food well prepared. My filet was a good medium rare, my sides were flavourful. It's unfortunate the other yelp reviews mention poor service or food quality, because I did not have any such experience. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a fine dining steakhouse for a special occasion.

Chop House takes care in their presentation. The tables are formally decorated and the choices for dishes, silverware and napkins were very exquisite. The menu choices were hard to choose from, because everything looked appetizing. The highlight of the evening besides the conversation with my party was the waiter. Every time I almost give up on customer service, I run into a Brian who sets the bar very high. He was a top notch waiter with amazing energy. Yes the meal was delicious, but I would come back in hopes that Brian serves me again. He did a phenomenal job serving our table. My dish had an amazing presentation and it tasted amazing. The wine paired with the dish was perfect. I was able to taste their loaded baked potato and it was divine. This restaurant was definitely a treat.

Must make reservations during the time we went which was market around 630pm. Very busy. Staff friendly and attentive. Very clean bathrooms. Has a separate bar area . Atmosphere dimly lite and perfect for a date. Large portions . Ordered the wagyu priced at $90 that night. It was good but nothing great. Definitely not worth the market price. Appetizers were very good.

Great Ambience, Food, Service! Went for my 21st Birthday dinner, and the server was super helpful with the drink menu and made awesome recs! Food was amazing and got this huge slice of cake and it was amazing (was enough for 6 people to share lol!)

We didn't have reservations but were seated right away, which made for an easy start to the evening. The space has a modern, relaxed vibe that feels perfect for a casual dinner or drinks. We started with the Lobster Nachos, which were a fun twist since they're made with crispy potato wedges instead of chips. They were topped with lobster, bacon, scallions, and a creamy sauce: rich, indulgent, and great for sharing. For the main dish, I had the Ribeye steak with a side of cauliflower mash. The steak had a nice sear and great flavor, and the cauliflower mash was smooth, creamy and delicious, making it a great alternative to traditional mashed potatoes. A solid first visit with flavorful dishes and a welcoming atmosphere. Earl's Landing is a great new addition to the downtown High Point dining scene, and I'm looking forward to coming back to try more of the menu. Try the Lobster Nachos if you want something unique to share, they're a standout starter.

Magnolia Blue was one of my favorite High Point eateries. Whether I went for weekend brunch or New…read moreYear's Eve dinner, I never had a bad meal there. It closed in early February for what were supposed to be renovations, only to reopen months later with a new name and a new concept, trading slightly upscale Southern for more upscale Italian. In some regards, this makes sense - it fills a void created by the closure of Lulu and Blu - but in other ways, it's a massive gamble. My wife and I went for our anniversary dinner, and while it was an overall pleasant experience, it also made us miss Magnolia. The higher price point is the chief culprit. Otto and Blue offers pastas in the $20s and entrees starting in the $30s, bread and olive oil not included. While we were celebrating an occasion that merited such a splurge, it's hard to imagine the restaurant remaining competitive at those prices once the sheen of newness wears off. Look past that, however, and Otto and Blue shines in both ambiance and service. It's classy without being stuffy, and the dark turquoise tones suit it well. Allison, a Magnolia Blue mainstay, was personable and attentive and provided excellent service throughout the meal. Otto and Blue's menu offers apps, salads, pastas, and entrees. It's predominantly Italian albeit with a few options for the steak-and-potatoes crowd. The dishes range from recognizably classic (rigatoni Bolognese) to conspicuously elevated (halibut piccatta). After mulling over several offerings, we went with the bread service, tagliatelle, and duck cacciatore. The food ranged from fairly good to outstanding. While $9 for bread is a tough pill to swallow, they executed it as well as they possibly could have: a hot, fresh ciabatta with tasty herb butter, olive relish, and a quality olive oil-balsamic combo as accompaniments. The cacciatore boasted a pair of duck legs confit, and while I'm usually no fan of dark meat poultry, these were prepared well with crispy skin and plenty of meat. For a typically hearty dish, the sauce seemed light (and a bit subdued), but that could be a consequence of serving atop polenta (more absorbent) rather than pasta. Speaking of pastas and sauces, the tagliatelle hit a nice balance of creamy and zesty without swimming in its white wine lemon sauce. Surprisingly, the highlight of the meal ended up being the dessert that Otto and Blue kindly offered as an anniversary gift. A scoop of vanilla bean gelato came adorned with a Biscoff cookie, a drizzle of olive oil, and a dash of salt. If salt and especially olive oil on ice cream seem vaguely blasphemous, don't knock it until you try it. Each bite was thoroughly delicious. It's a given that good food doesn't come cheap, but even so, Otto and Blue has no margin for error to justify what it charges. On food alone, it was close but not quite there. However, the overall experience made it worthwhile, and I have no regrets about dining here.

Entrées followed in a reasonable time, no real issue there. Sammy G's has been in High Point for years and offers a wide menu with a little bit of everything. They also bring out little yeast rolls that are pretty good and they were warm when served. We started with the thin cut onion rings. My husband said "less than spectacular," and that sums it up. Some were sliced so thin you mostly tasted breading, and they were a bit greasy. I would skip these. He ordered the fish sandwich with Brussels sprouts (premium side with a small upcharge). The sandwich was okay, nothing special. The Brussels sprouts were good, nicely cooked with solid flavor. I had the Fratellis salad with greens, cranberries, feta, mozzarella, Granny Smith apples, and candied pecans, and added sirloin for an upcharge. They forgot the steak at first, but brought it out shortly after in a separate bowl. Not a big deal. The sirloin was cooked medium as requested, a little red inside and tender enough to cut easily. It had good flavor. I chose the apple cider vinaigrette, which worked well with the salad. I also ordered the chef's selection soup, which was supposed to be lobster bisque. If there was any lobster, it was microscopic. The flavor was slightly bitter and just not good. I asked for it to be taken off the bill. Service handled everything well, including the mistake with the steak and the soup. Atmosphere is casual tavern style, relaxed and easy for a weekday lunch. Must order: Fratellis salad with sirloin and apple cider vinaigrette (yummy), Brussels sprouts Heads up: Skip the thin cut onion rings and don't expect much from the bisque. Other soups, I've had here in the past have been great though.

It's hidden away off the main stretch, but easy to get to with parking on-site. When we arrived at 5pm, the restaurant was fairly empty and they were already set up and waiting for our group reservation. We were greeted by Freya, who had a great personality and provided fantastic service all evening while we were there. Can't speak highly enough of her! They have a comprehensive wine menu and a full bar. I started with a Lemon Drop Martini which was delicious, and later had a glass of Merlot as well which was tasty as well. They had warm fresh bread on the table with butter which was great since we were all very hungry. For my meal, I ordered the Halibut Large Plate. This was a lightly crisp blackened piece of Halibut topped with lump grab and a sauce, then served atop a piece of andouille sausage, asparagus, and creamy grits. There were SO MANY flavors perfectly balanced together here with a variety of textures to enjoy as well. I have nothing but good things to say about this. Blue Water Grille is fairly expensive and not somewhere you would come regularly, but for a special outing or a date night it is a great treat. The menu is seafood heavy and non-seafood items also pack a lot of flavor, so be aware that there are limited options for that picky eater in your party who perhaps wants a more plain chicken dish. As an aside - Someone in my party got the Mac & Cheese small plate and it looked fantastic. Definitely something I'm going to order next time!

The steak was cooked perfectly, seasoned right, and you could immediately tell the quality of the cut was there. The potato cakes were honestly the perfect pairing. Crispy, rich, and executed extremely well. Me and my folks ordered the Wagyu meatballs and shrimp as an appetizers and those were outstanding too. Tender, flavorful, and balanced without feeling overly heavy. But the real differentiator here was the service. That's what elevated this from simply being a great dinner to being a genuinely high-end experience worth every dollar spent. Our server was absolutely impeccable. Informative, knowledgeable, and clearly understood both the menu and the overall dining experience. He knew where the food came from, what paired best together, and guided the experience without ever feeling pushy or scripted. That level of professionalism matters, especially when you're dropping serious money on dinner, and because of that, not once did I look at the bill and feel irritated about spending nearly $200. Atmosphere was upscale and refined without being stiff or pretentious. Just a really well-balanced environment overall. Bottom line: well done on all levels. Between excellent service, from the host to the kitchen staff, and being a bright, cheery place decorated in a modern farmhouse feel (only complaint is the HARD seating), we love this place. Honestly, it keeps bringing us back. The flavors are incredible. It has feta, mozzarella, topped with organic greens, shaved onions, tossed in a lemon/dijon dressing with shaved parmesan. It's a flavor bomb in the mouth. The meatloaf, is to die for. If you're a meatloaf eater this is for you. It's so tender and juicy and perfectly seasoned. Melts in your mouth and the sauce on top is the perfect blend of sweet and savory to top it off. For my two sides this time I chose the fried brussels sprouts and the greens. The greens are always seasoned perfectly and the brussels sprouts were crispy and full of flavor. They tasted even better dipped in my meatloaf sauce so that was a win-win. My boyfriend had the special which was short ribs. For his two sides, he had greens and green beans. The short rib was perfectly tender and absolutely delicious full of flavor and moist for him. The green beans and the greens were also perfect as well full of flavor, just enough fat and butter. It's a great little date spot or a family dinner. They also have outdoor seating covered with umbrellas.
