I kept seeing Seafood Destiny on social media and when I checked it out on Yelp, it got great reviews. I wondered why I never heard of it before or nobody ever recommended it to me? I threw the suggestion out to Sally and she thought it would be fun to try something new so she picked me up, we got on Gate City Boulevard and drove west until we found this place in a small strip mall. The outside won't necessarily draw your attention, but once you step inside this simple takeout/ dine in spot, the experience is totally different. As soon as we walked in we were approached by a gentleman who must have been the owner. He was incredibly kind and appreciative of our patronage. He explained all the dishes and a little bit about the company itself. This guy was full of pride about Seafood Destiny and I was impressed. Besides dining inside, they offer takeout and catering services. He was particularly proud of some of his dishes and when he told me that the crab legs was a special tonight for $20, I knew that was the best fit for me. You pay at the counter after you choose your selection and then have a seat and wait for your food to arrive. We were the only ones in the restaurant, although I did see a few people pop in for takeout. I could not help but wonder with it being so empty whether the great reviews would match up to what they claimed. I got my Diet Coke from the fountain machine with unlimited refills which always makes me happy. After chatting for a while with Sally, this huge plate came my way. The crab legs special for $20 was amazing. Not only did it have plenty of crab legs, but it came with a half-dozen beautiful shrimp with excellent seasoning, turkey sausage, corn on the cob and delicious scalloped potatoes. I ordered a side of asparagus. Although it was tasty. I don't know if the asparagus was worth $5. On the other hand, the main dish was a real bargain!! The food was delicious. Sally ordered salmon with pasta and loved her dish as well. I just ate and ate and ate and ate and eventually devoured the entire dish. Boy, that was good. No doggy bag here! We were each served a special dipping sauce from the Seafood Destiny. It was sweet and tasty but I was happy to just devour the fish as is. It was well seasoned and scrumptious While we were eating, a young man came out to chat with us. Something told me he was the son of the owner or he was indeed the manager or both lol. We had a nice chat about the place and it's history and he really appreciated our visit and hoped we would spread the word. I will! We arrived at 6:30 and before we knew it it was 8:00 and the place was beginning to close. I devoured my last crab leg, got a refill on my diet Coke and we headed out. Both Sally and I discussed on the way home what a delicious meal that was, how lovely the owners and staff were and what a shame that there not more people in the restaurant. I am hoping that was a fluke on a Tuesday night because Seafood Destiny definitely deserves customers. The place was simple, but the welcoming staff, the good priced seafood meals, the plentiful portions, and most of all, seeing the incredible pride and love the owners put into this place made it a winning combination for me I'm always a big fan of family owned operations and Seafood Destiny deserves your patronage. I like Greensboro it's a nice little town. I don't know what the Special Sauce is. But it is life-changing. It's the red sauce that come in little cups. But what you see in their pictures is exactly what your taste buds get. It seems not to be regular deep fried food. I can't put my fingers on it, it's either the seasoning or the breading but it is totally different than what I'm used to. It is perfectly seasoned with the perfect crunch to it. It really comes out on the fried whiting. please do yourself a favor and stop by. Even if you go out to eat somewhere else for dinner and you're in town, just grab a few things for a late night snack. If you're a seafood lover, they definitely have treats for you. wings are awesome. I thoroughly enjoyed the fried oysters. And the crab legs were perfect. When you walk in, it smells like fresh seafood from the door. I love that smell. I wish someone can encapsulate it in perfume one day. I wish we had more time. I saw a couple reviews on social media and read the Yelp comments so I decided to take the 90 minute drive from Charlotte for the "soul" purpose of trying this restaurant. It wasn't a huge place but it has a welcoming appearance. Not a lot of seating so you may want to get it to go and have a picnic somewhere. I arrived right at noon on Saturday when they opened So I ate there. My thought process was to get in early before they start running out of stuff; and also, I may need the rest of the day to burn those calories. I was not disappointed. The food was phenomenal and the service was stellar. Great value for the money. A huge step up from all the steambag seafood places popping up in Charlotte for no reason. Everything was seasoned beautifully. The owner came out and introduced himself and we had a pleasant conversation. If you're either on a budget or want to splurge like I did you will have a great dining experience. Fried clams, hush puppies, lobster, shrimp Mac n cheese, fried crab cake, cabbage (not yet on the menu), fried shrimp, steamed shrimp, turkey sausage (thank you!) all 10 out of 10. Once a rarity in Greensboro, the seafood boil concept has taken off during the past two years, and Seafood Destiny is a good exemplar thereof. An outgrowth of owner Anthony Knotts's backyard boils, the restaurant offers various combinations of crab, shrimp, corn, turkey sausage, lobster, and potatoes. Many of these items are also available a la carte, as are shrimp mac and cheese and green beans, and there are a few fish and pasta offerings as well. There's even a George Floyd Boil, whose proceeds partially go toward a college scholarship for African-American men. As tempting as a full-blown boil was, I opted for something better-suited for one person: the George's Seafood Hoagie. A lunch-only offering, its price tag seemed ridiculous ($18.95 for a sandwich?!), but the pictures shared via the restaurant's social media made it too tempting to pass up. While Seafood Destiny does offer online ordering, it doesn't operate in the way that you'd expect. Instead of selecting a pick-up time, you select a check-in time, and your food is made-to-order upon your arrival. While this ensures freshness, it is also likely to try the patience of the hungry, and I can only imagine what the wait times are without the order-ahead option. Fortunately, I didn't have a particularly long wait (maybe fifteen minutes after arrival), and the sandwich that I was handed by the friendly, hard-working counter staff was worth every penny. The best way to describe George's Seafood Hoagie is a po boy on steroids. It's a roll generously stuffed with shrimp and crab and lobster and pickles and slathered with spicy-sweet house-made red "Errythang" sauce. It comes with an equally ample portion of thinly sliced herbed potatoes. Hyperbolic as it sounds, every bite was bursting with flavor. This is not an easy sandwich to eat - you'll need two hands and several napkins - but it is well worth the endeavor. When you'll actually get your food is a guessing game best not played when hungry, and cheap eats these are not, but for the seafood connoisseur, Seafood Destiny is a must-try. read more

We were wanting seafood and our hunger would have accepted average tastes, but fortunately for us, average does not apply here. The feeling and energy as soon as you open the door is, you at your favorite cousin's house that throws DOWN!! The staff and owner were so welcoming, fun and full of personality. The food was epic from the first bite. Real crab with real lump meat. And that erethang sauce that you can put on erethang is something worth ordering a bottle to take home. 5 stars for Jalen and his impeccable service! He is a keeper and gem foreal! I ordered the flounder and shrimp combo, which both proteins were well seasoned and delicious. I tore that up with the corn! Subtracting one star because the green beans were sweet, which Jalen did tell me had sugar in it and if it was ok - but it was too sweet and the after taste just didn't sit right with me. The first time I enjoyed the George Floyd Broil; 2 snow crab clusters, 8 shrimp, two pieces of corn, turkey sausage, and potatoes. It was a hit and we loved it. This evening I had the Waddell's Crab Cake Broil; 2 crab cakes, 8 shrimp, two pieces of corn, turkey sausage, and potatoes. The crab cakes were good, I absolutely love the shrimp and the sausage (tastes like a mild kielbasa) and the corn is cooked perfectly. The red skinned potatoes are sliced, seasoned nicely and were cooked well. This time around we ordered some yeast rolls and they were so soft and very salty; we thought they were delicious. We also sampled the shrimp mac & cheese; the seasoning was good, almost like a Cajun spice and the topping was tasty. We all enjoyed picking at it. Milder non salty garlic flavors with a variety of dipping sauces if you want. I'm not a fan of the lobster tail. They bake it and it comes out tough and dry. But I enjoy the sliced potatoes and sausage. Asparagus and/or green beans perfectly seasoned and cooked. They are slow on service. I called in an order for one lunch special 30 mins ahead of time and still had to wait 20 mins after my expected time for my food. I don't know if they had multiple call in orders but I was the only customer in the restaurant. I will go back, however I will plan my time accordingly. read more

Seafood Destiny... I've supported the food truck for years whenever they're in my hometown of Winston Salem. But on February 22, 2025, me and my wife decided to go to the restaurant this time around. We came from Winston to support but were deeply saddened and disappointed by the experience. It was around 7:10pm when we placed a to go order for pickup via telephone. We arrived around 7:40, I went in to pay and after I completed my transaction the cashier told me to have a nice night as she was leaving due to the end of her shift occurring. Granted they closed at 8:00pm but she had no issue completing my order. However there was an older lady that took her spot of transactions for customers that had a rude attitude as another paying customer came in after me wanting to place an order. She exclaimed "Here we go, we always get a rush right before closing. This makes me sick, where were they a few minutes ago!?" I was appalled that she would 1) say this openly in front of customers and 2) behave in this manner during operating hours. I understand it's close to closing but after all you still are open so conduct yourself professionally. Anyways, as my order was ready about 10minutes after, she changed her persona and smiled telling me my order was ready just after displaying the rude attitude towards the customer after me. I payed it no mind, took my food and returned home. Only to find the 2 for $40 crab broil was soggy and no where close to the meals that I have grown so fond of receiving from them. My platter had 2 clusters of what seemed to be "baby crab legs" because they were so small and skinny. My wife on the other hand had a small cluster and another decent size cluster but again, they were soggy, cold and as we tried breaking them, they would just bend inside the shell making it nearly impossible to get any meat out of them. She did not want to finish hers but I do not like wasting food nor money so I took one for the team and finished mines. We've been trying to get a hold of the manager for weeks now so I wouldn't have to leave a negative review and could be compensated but after leaving voicemails, posting on their facebook page, and even calling over and over again with no one coming to the phone, I have no other choice. It's just left a sour taste in my mouth with them and their unprofessional behavior. So if you're seeing this, learn from me and don't go near closing hours or you might just end up with the same "destiny" as I've been handed by them. The order was 2 crab leg broils for $40 and a side order of 2 crab cakes (which were fine, no issues there). In total I spent $71 just to be disregarded and disappointed. Seafood Destiny has been on my list for a while and it did not disappoint. I got the crab broil, and being from Savannah GA, I can be a harsh critic but it was delicious. The garlic butter seasoning was evenly on everything --corn, sausage, sliced potatoes, shrimp and crab. Every bite was balanced. There was no need to dip the shrimp or crabs in anything other than the juice, but they did give a house sauce that was like a tangy cocktail sauce with a kick. I was there on Mother's Day, so it was appropriately busy with dining in and takeouts, but the wait was reasonable. The staff were so friendly and the owner even stepped out to speak to each table. The crab legs came out easy, however the flavor didn't reach the inside. The shrimp in the boil was over cooked, which probably comes from cooking it together, but idk for sure. We ordered the grouper plate, side of green beans, and extra sausage. The turkey sausage taste like hillshire, so I'm not mad at it because I eat it at home.. the $$$ crab boil.. sad to say was overcooked. Don't get me wrong, I love supporting black businesses especially the independent/mom and pop type of businesses; however, the time management here is an issue for me. I've ordered from this place numerous of times since having my first plate; and every time the food takes over 45 minutes to pick up. Over the phone, I was quoted a 20 minute wait time for pick up. My lunch break is only 45 minutes and I still have to make a drive back, I call ahead by 20-30 minutes and still wait at least 30-45 minutes in the restaurant. The chairs are comfy enough, but I would like to get my order and go. Respectfully, I love Seafood Destiny and recommend anyone to try their cuisine, but the amount of time in which it takes to get the food I will be ordering from here a lot less. read more

I was in town for a NASCAR race at Martinsville. This restaurant had good reviews, so I thought we would give it a try. Seafood Destiny exceeded my expectations. Originally, I was looking for a place to celebrate my 31st anniversary and ended up coming to Seafood Destiny after my son's college graduation. Thankfully, the storefront has a small dine in area. We were starving and so happy to be able to eat right after the food was ready rather than having to take it home first. We ordered a variety of dishes, a broil, the grouper plate, pasta and yeast rolls. So much delicious food! Best seafood I've had in a very long time. The owner and a few of the staff chatted with us while we waited and while we ate. Very welcoming atmosphere and the Pandora playlist was fabulous I highly recommend checking this place out. Nice, clean restaurant was my first impression. The employees were friendly and super nice. We got the shrimp boil and I thought the spice level was good and the doors well cooked. I especially liked that it contained turkey sausage, since I'm not a pork eater. Admittedly, I had never heard of this place until I received a gift voucher, and I certainly wasn't going to let it go to waste. I ordered online, which was super easy except that it would let me create an account for future orders. I get it, AOL email accounts are unheard of. But mine still exists, just not for the purpose of creating an account. Despite this, I placed an order for the crab boil with one cluster of crab legs, shrimp, potatoes, corn, and sausage. I also added an order of shrimp. My total was around $35. I checked in and paid at the restaurant, and they gave me a beeper to wait for my food in my car. It took less than 10 minutes for my food to be prepared once I checked in, and the staff was super friendly and helpful. I wish I had remembered to take a pic of the food, but the reality is, it looked and smelled so good, I wasted no time in digging in. The shrimp were large, the crab cluster was decent sized, the sausage was delicious, and the corn was great. The real surprise was the potatoes. Whatever seasoning and butter they put on everything was freaking delicious. The potatoes were perfectly cooked and I surprised myself at how I kept going back for bites of them. Even with the seasoning, the crab wasn't overwhelmed and was really tasty (and not overly salty). Important things to note: The crab is at the bottom. I am going to totally embarrass myself by telling everyone on Yelp I called thinking I was missing my crab legs and had forgotten to pick up a bag. But no, the girl chuckled and politely told me to dig to the bottom. And she wasn't kidding. They gave me so much food it was a mound in the container, and sure enough, the crab legs were underneath that pile of seafood goodness. Another thing to note: that's not a yeast roll in the foil. It's your butter cup and be careful when you unwrap it. Don't ask me how I know. I would absolutely give this place 5 stars. I love me some good seafood and this place has it. The food & service are both fabulous. I ordered the shrimp plate which includes fried okra, scalloped potatoes and green beans. I'd return just for the elegantly spiced veggies but my shrimp dish and my guest's grouper dish (yes we shared) were wonderful.
