Big Daddy’s Wings & Things - Bam bam shrimp fries

Big Daddy’s Wings & Things

While scrolling Facebook, I saw a their ad for 25 wings for $25. I was at a church event and…read moredecided to get some wings for dinner for my boys and I. I placed order online at 8:17pm. I got lemon pepper and garlic parm. I wish I could pick more flavors but it only allowed me to pick 2. I also got garlic parm fries that was $5. After placing tbe order, it said it would ready in 62 minutes... WOW! If I had known that, I wouldn't have placed the order, honestly. The event was ending and I was 15 minutes away from the location. I arrived around 8:45pm. It was a little confusing at first once I arrived. It is located inside a city kitchen. Inside, there is a kiosk where you must check in to let restaurant know you're there. They have all the various establishments listed. You can also order on the kiosk if you haven't already. There were about 3 parties already there waiting. There are limited seating inside. At 8:55pm, a lady said that some orders were coming in 8 minutes. My name wasn't on that list, unfortunately. She had previously brought out orders for other people. If ordering online, I feel like they need to make it so people can see how long the wait is for food PRIOR to ordering. Since I had already paid online, I had no choice but to wait and my taste buds were for the food I ordered. Plus, I was very hungry and getting hangry while waiting. At , 9:16pm, I asked for an update for my food. I was told they were working on it and it would be a couple more minutes. I FINALLY got my order at 9:23pm. I then had to drive 15 minutes home. I did eat a couple fries on the way home because I was so hungry. They were decent. They did have a crunch to them though. The wings were dissatisfying, honesty. For me, this was not worth the wait. My wings weren't crispy at all and were dark in hue. I did enjoy the lemon pepper wings more than the garlic Parmesan. The lemon pepper had more crisp but didn't have sufficient seasoning, for me. The garlic Parm flavor wasn't bold and didn't pop or stand out as it should. I love garlic and these two flavors (garlic Parm and lemon pepper) are my go to flavors for wings. I really had high hopes and expectations, especially from all the positive reviews and pictures that I saw but they just didn't meet that this time. I've had way better wings. They were hot but I'm unsure if they were fresh. The size of the wings were a plus! I was on the phone with a friend eating and discussing my experience/dissatisfaction and they suggested that it may have just been an off night because they were busy... My take on that is perfection and always getting it right is not possible. However, I would rather have waited 10-15 minutes longer to get food that was up to their standards and not rushed, than to have waited a long time for a subpar product. For me, what makes it worse is that I've been craving wings! I'm being mindful on my calorie and food intake, so me using a "cheat day" to get what I want and be dissatisfied, is so saddening. I don't know if I'll be giving them another shot. First impressions are everything.

First time trying this place. The set up is a little unconventional but listen to me..... The best…read morewings I've tasted in these streets and the flavor and temperature lasted the 22 minute car ride home. I only stopped eating because I was full. The sweet potato fries even made a great first impression once they home as well. You have to place your order online. This is not a dine in establishment, however, the chicken wings are phenomenal!!!!! Not too bulky. Flavor was phenomenal! Can't wait to try more flavors!!!

IYKYK..just in case you don't..this was my second visit Had the pleasure of enjoying this visit…read morealso. Definitely need to visit more often. The vibe is very chilled. Great tv action! The bartender was very skilled..enjoyed an Expresso martini as well as a smoked old fashioned ( not one of my typical drink selection), but I did enjoy it! Also enjoyed a side salad and wings. The food was delicious as with my first visit. Definitely recommend you go, especially for sports or if want to enjoy a chilled environment!!

This is one I'm especially upset about. We've been here numerous times in the past and had a great…read moreexperience with quality food. On this weekday during happy hour, we had a bad experience unfortunately. Our server was amazing though! Giving her props for her friendly demeanor and great service. Drinks were also cold and refreshing. Where it turned sour: our Chef's Special appetizer plate. The mozzarella sticks were hollow. Not just thin, but completely hollow with no cheese, just an outer shell. The "beef" empanadas had no beef inside. Again, mainly hollow with only a little cheese inside. Overcooked and almost impossible to chew. They were also out of some pickled items that were supposed to be on the plate, and they substituted some old strawberries, which definitely did not complement anything on this plate. We were here for a full meal, but we stopped here and did not order our main courses. ***MOST IMPORTANTLY*** Some employees were engaging in activities inside the establishment, which are not conducive to a restaurant in any capacity. A call will be made to management and/or the owner(s). We're highly hopeful this is a one-off experience and these issues will be rectified going forward. We love this place. We've had amazing food and evenings out with friends and family here. We want to be back, and I would love to update this review in the near future.

So it's high time I leave a review for Old Town Draft House. I've been here numerous times and I'm…read moreonly writing my first review now. Such an amazing spot. Jill and Kayne, who previously created KAU at Revolution Mill before selling it to Pepper Moon, also own Old Town Draft House and Boulder's Bar and Grill. Each and every one is amazing in its own way. Old Town has been one of the longest standing establishments, and it puts out incredible food! Burgers, wraps, apps, salads, wings, sandwiches, Philly's, even a burrito... you name it. Pretty much everything that comes out of this kitchen is a hit. Today I had the chicken Philly. Yep, the best chicken Philly I've had in a very long time. The classic soft Philly hoagie, chicken that's tender and juicy, peppers and onions full of flavor with the perfect consistency (not too limp, not too raw), all topped with oozing cheese that they're not shy with. I'm salivating just thinking about it as I write this...may have to go get another one tomorrow lol. The housemade chips and dip were perfect with it. Great craft beers, local options, and everything in between round out a perfect pub in the heart of UNCG. This one is definitely in the rotation. No matter what owner couple Jill and Kayne do, they do it amazingly well.

This is a location that has been on my bookmarks for a long time, but I'm honestly not sure why I…read morehaven't been there sooner. On a Saturday afternoon, I was in Greensboro and in the mood for some good pretzels and a draft beer, and this hit the spot. Old Town Draught House has a very old bar ambience, without feeling worn out and dated. I love the old dark wood throughout the building. They have a pretty broad draft beer menu, along with normal bar offerings. I was happy to see multiple sour beers on the list, because that's exactly what I was in the mood for. There's no table service, and it is seat yourself, but the bartenders were very attentive, and it was never difficult to place an order at the bar. We ordered a few beers and decided to get deviled eggs and the pretzels as appetizers to share. Food came out very quickly. The pretzels were pretty good, but I've had better elsewhere. Rather than being crispy, they were soft and a bit soggy, but the flavor was great. The beer cheese was on point, although I would've preferred a spicy brown mustard over yellow mustard. The deviled eggs were a bit of a letdown, because it was just a hard-boiled egg cut in half with a little bit of sweet chili peppers and dressing that tasted like 1000 Island on top. When I think of deviled eggs, I anticipate the egg yolks being removed, mixed with a few ingredients, and piped back in. For what was basically two eggs cut in half, the six-dollar price tag was steep. Overall, we had a great experience, although I would likely choose different food options next time. The bar staff were great, the beer offerings nice, and the ambience was a good vibe.
