Over the weekend a friend invited me to come and try out this food truck, as he raved about the food and I decided to try it with him. I ordered the Philly Cheese Egg Rolls, which were decent, the sauce they provide is okay but I'm sure many people will like it, it just didn't do it for me, but it wasn't bad. I wanted to order the Chimichurri Steak Frites but they were not willing to do the fries on the side, so I opted out. My friend ordered the Sticky Bourbon wings which he said were really good and let me try the truffle fries with their signature Blue Cheese and let me tell you, now THOSE WERE GOOD! Whenever I go back I'm definitely getting the fries, some of the best I have had period! The prices were decent, the service was quick and the staff was helpful, patient & answered all of our questions, so all in all it was a good place to try and I'll probably go again to try another dish, so if you're in the area, give it a try!

Food is delicious and plentiful, the service is friendly. I had the baja cod tacos and beignets. Both were excellent.

I had stop by earlier only to find that they had closed early, so check their hours first. The ordering process is reminiscent of the food truck: you order and pay at the counter and they call out your name when it's ready. If you eat inside you just take a seat. If you order to go or (as I did) eat at one their outside tables, you stand by It was fairly busy on the Saturday afternoon, so the wait was about 20 minutes, but the order taker was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. We ordered the fires wing plate with potato salad and okra, served with your choice of cornbread or roll. We also ordered it flounder and shrimp plate with collards and Mac and cheese and cornbread (as a Southern boy, you have to have cornbread with collard greens). For drinks, we had sweet tea, which was served in unmarked but sealed bottles. The wings were freshly fried, cooked perfectly, and the sides were very good. The flounder had a few tiny bones, but was generous, freshly prepared and very good. The shrimp were fine, too. Good collards and Mac and cheese, and the cornbread was good, too. It had sugar in it, but wasn't overly sweet. Prices were reasonable, the food was very good. I'd definitely consider them for a future visit. Aside from the fairly long wait for the food, the experience was good. You might want to check out the daily specials (see the attached photo). I have mixed feelings about tipping when the only person you interact with is the one who takes your order and takes your money, especially when presented with a touchscreen that implies percentages over 20%, but there was a small army of staff behind the counter, so I assume the tips are shared and all of them were obviously working hard. Whether it's called "comfort food," "soul food," or "Southern food," this is a solid entry in the Greensboro area.

I took my food to go. You order at the main counter the give your ticket to the back kitchen and wait to be called. The wait wasn't long at all maybe 10-15 minutes. I ordered the fried catfish, mac and cheese , potato salad , collard greens, sweet potatoes/ candied yams and it came with corn bread. And banana pudding. First off the catfish was cooked to perfect and seasoned well. I burned my mouth in a good way because I didn't wait until it cooled it was so good. For the sides; the mac and cheese was not something I enjoyed the noodles were extremely over cooked and too soft , there was no cheesy top and the cheese was very separated that was there. The greens were sweet and I personally prefer savory greens but if that's your jam you'll love these greens. However the potato salad and yams were perfection and I will get those again. The banana pudding was your topical southern vanilla wafer banana pudding. I did enjoy it and the portion size was great too. It didn't make it through the night. Overall I feel like the do something's better than others and they're worth a visit.

Anthony is my fav bartender but everyone does an amazing job. I love the on the menu jalapeno strawberry margarita, but like this night pictured if I want something else he will make it for me ! And he's never made me a bad drink ! (This wasn't my first rodeo here ). On to the food. This wasn't my first time having the collard sausage dip and I could eat it with my hands it was so delicious freshly made and creamy ! This is hands down the best dip I've ever had and to top it off the fried pita !! My only complaint is there aren't enough pitas to dip ratio but I will order more next time. And I found the dip greatly paired with the catfish. ( no judgement) The catfish is something I've had before but I didn't have the pleasure of the waffles the last time and let me tell you ! This is a work of art. I want to personally meet whoever made this idea of layered fish , greens and waffles but it was heavenly. And I wanted to eat it all but my stomach just wouldn't allow it. I did however heat the leftover the following morning for breakfast and they were still perfect. Last but not least the Mac and cheese was creamy, noodles were perfectly cooked and it was seasoned to a T. I'm picky on Mac and cheese being my favorite food and they do it justice. See you all next weekend!

The dip is always so delicious - it's one of my favorite appetizers ever. The pita is really good too. I think they recently started adding cheese to it too which is good but not really necessary in my opinion. At first, they brought us pita that was really burnt but our waiter told us she requested a fresh batch without us even saying anything which I think is great service. I also tried their garlic parm boneless wings & they were so good. I loved how seasoned & salty they were, although they might be too salty for some people. I really loved it though! Their cocktail menu is also really interesting & creative. It's mostly whiskey of course but they do have other spirits. I tried the peanut butter & jelly Old fashioned and it was surprisingly delicious. It really did taste like a PB&J so I highly recommend. The inside is small but there's a nice outdoor seating area too. This really is one of my favorite places to get food in the area BUT the only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because anytime I've been there remotely close to closing, they definitely let you know & make you feel rushed. I'm not one to go to restaurants last minute when they're closing because I know how that can make it difficult for employees, but being somewhere 45 minutes before they close shouldn't warrant getting rushed. I've been there before just to have a few cocktails at the bar about 45 min before closing & had the same experience. I still really love this place & will keep going (but probably not within an hour or so of closing lol)

Our service was a little hit-or-miss. Our waiter was also managing the bar, which meant we weren't checked on as often as we would have liked. When we ordered, the items weren't read back to us, and unfortunately, the order did come out incorrectly. The drinks definitely a highlight! They were well-made and didn't skim on the alcohol. The meal was perfectly fine, but nothing particularly stood out as spectacular. It's solid pub fare if you're looking for a casual bite. Overall, McCoul's is a decent spot for a strong drink and a cozy, dim atmosphere. I'd love to see a bit more attentiveness on the floor, but it's still a place worth stopping by if you're in downtown Greensboro.
