I swore off this McAlister's location years ago for reasons that, unfortunately, were reaffirmed during this visit. I was looking for a light dinner and decided on my usual salad and baked potato. Due to winter weather limiting my options, I reluctantly gave this location another chance. Big mistake!!! First, my salad dressing was missing...and then I saw it...the dryest, most overcooked baked potato ever!! This potato had to be left over from lunch, if not the night before. The weather prevented me from returning it so I settled and scooped out the edible portions. This experience has solidified my decision to avoid this location permanently. Next time, I'll just drive the extra miles for a better, more reliable meal. (I would've given only 1 star had not the sweet tea been so good).

My father and I got this food door dashed , and we are not from the area. We wanted some good deli food, and boy did we get it. We each got the club, and it was exactly what we were craving and got! The food was fresh and tasted delicious. Next time we are back in town we will definitely be getting this again, highly recommend!

1/2 sub 1/2 spud - once again no au jus
    Bari S.

Sandwiches, Spuds (large baked potatoes w/ a variety of toppings), kids meals, salad, & soups. This location was amazing when they 1st open but it's been awhile & the work force is not as good as it used to be. We order here when we are looking for a quick bite & can run in/out to pick up. Order online & pick up from To-Go shelf. Average food for little above average prices. A sandwich w/ a side or a Spud w/ toppings are both $10 - $14. (See pics) FYI - if you order To-Go and any of your items are supposed to have sauces like au jus, butter, honey mustard, etc. - definitely check to make sure it's there. 3x in a row - Au jus was forgotten & luckily this last time my wife reminded me to ask before I left.

I love McCalisters Deli, never a bad experience. I always get the McCalister Club. Hubby always gets the Ruben. So delucious!! Potato soup is pretty good too.

Chef salad, no bacon no ham, sub turkey and cucumbers, add strawberries, blueberries and pecans

I called in my order and had it picked up. When I received it, my first thought was this is a good looking salad. This was a perfectly made salad and it would have been a perfect salad but several pieces of the iceberg lettuce were brown. I didn't like that but outside of that, this is one of the best salads I've had from this location. My fruit and everything else was fresh.

Cuban Club with side of Mac and cheese
    Korina J.

I ordered the 2 for so I got loaded nachos and half club sandwich. My husband got the Cuban club and side of Mac and cheese. We went and sat down was there for at least 25 minutes before we heard the manager say hey they are sitting over there so then we got our food. The nachos were cold and had hardly no chili on it. My husband sandwich had way too much mustard on it and the bar b que meat and ham was dry and sandwich was cold. The manager said she was sorry about the amount of time it took to get our food but did not offer to get us fresh food or anything else to make the visit right. So will not go back there for a good while. Waste of $30.

I tried this place for the first time. It was okay. I expected more chicken then greens but I love eating vegetables so the spinach didnt bother me much. They have outdoor tables and seatings if you want to eat outside. There food is fresh and service is quick.

    Grilled Chicken King Club

This is supposed to be a chicken king club which costs 15.79 you would think someone would know how to toast bread. This bread looks as if it came straight out the loaf how difficult is it to toast bread. Do better McAlister's deli. Any other time y'all overcook something I can't even get a potato anymore cause y'all incinerate them but you can't be bothered to toast bread.

When my friend stopped in town for lunch on Memorial day, we were hoping to find a good local deli for him to enjoy. We normally go to First Carolina Deli, but they were closed for the holiday. Therefore, we opted for McAllister's to have a quick lunch. I was worried it would be busy at lunchtime, but we lucked out & arrived during a lull in service. My ham & cheese sandwich was so good! It was toasted & the melted cheese gave the bread a moist texture, which elicited from me a sound of delight! My salad was fresh & delicious. My friend enjoyed his meal and he wasn't disappointed by our choice to visit McAllister's. We will definitely be back!

    Tomato & Cucumber Salad

This section of New Garden Rd, is loaded with great places to eat. We found ourselves wanting good deli but our usual place was closed. McAlister's is our new Go To - here's why: they have no problem with substitutions. We both wanted The New Yorker which is corned beef, pastrami, swiss and spicy brown mustard on marbled rye. We changed the bread on both to a baguette and no cheese on mine. The girl at the register was very accommodating and nice. We took it home and chowed. The corned beef and pastrami combo was really good! The potato salad tasted better than it looks and the tomato, cucumber salad was very fresh. This was a great experience!

This was my first time to McAlister's Deli. It was such a cold and rainy day so I was in the mood for soup. McAlister's popped up when I Googled "Soup Near Me" So I went. You have to order at the counter and then servers will deliver to your table sort of like a Panera Bread. However, you cannot see the food items or see your meal being made like at Panera. There is a large menu board with lists of sandwiches, salads and soups to order from. It's always so hard for me to decide when confronted with such choice. I do, however, see potato soup listed and that sounded fabulous and a grey day like today. I interview the server about her favorite sandwiches to help me finalize my decision. A BLT + A it is! Bacon, lettuce and tomato with avocado. It was delicious as was my cup of potato soup. All in all, my meal was really good and the staff was happy and polite. I will definitely go back to try more sandwiches and soups.

Savannah salad and French dip (1/2)

I haven't been to McAlisters in years, but I was in the mood for salad, and sadly Saladworks closed. I ordered takeout at the counter and the gentleman taking my order was very friendly as I was overwhelmed by the menu and trying to figure out what I wanted. I settled on the "Choose 2" and chose the savannah salad and 1/2 French dip. The order was up very quickly and everything was in the bag. This is really important in my book, as I'm sure with anyone who has gotten home only to realize sauce or dressing is missing. Anyway, the salad is decently sized for a 1/2 and 1/2 meal. Move over Panera. But seriously, at McAlisters you can choose any salad , soup, potato, or 1/2 sandwich you want, and you don't get charged an additional $8 (or so it feels at other places). My meal in particular was $10.xx. The savannah salad was delicious. There was a generous serving of grilled chicken, almonds, cucumbers, Gorgonzola cheese, and craisins. I like my salads hearty and this definitely fits. I wanted to like the French Dip but I just couldn't get into it. It was thickly and definitely not skimpy. But it was bland. And so was the aus jus. I felt 3 stars wouldn't be enough, especially considering the level of service I received (everyone was so friendly!). But they need to get some seasoning on that French dip to make it a solid 4 star.
