Mike's has been here since 1989, and this relic of a TV must have been here from the beginning
    Karl K.

Mike's was abuzz with activity when I walked in at 12:30 on a Saturday, and they stayed busy the entire time I was there. College students were coming and going in droves. The food is not cheap here, and for a moment I wondered how these college students could afford it. Certainly I could not have when I was at Florida State University All Those Years Ago (I miss you, George Harrison), but then it dawned on me: these are not ordinary college students--they are Elon students. And if their parents can afford the $54,000 per year Elon price tag, then they can afford to send their pampered child to Mike's Deli. Do I sound jealous? I'm really not. I just felt like saying Elon students are pampered. Let's get back to lunch. I ordered the Reuben, a Coney, a bowl of Cajun chicken gumbo, and a sweet tea. Reuben: Mike's makes a decent Reuben. They use Boar's Head corned beef, which is very good. Oddly, Lox Stock and Bagel also uses Boar's Head, but their sandwich is much more tender. The sauerkraut is good and not overpowering. The thousand island dressing was barely detectable. The bread was okay but could have been grilled more. Soup: pretty good soup with lots of flavors, but it could have been more spicy to match my expectations of Cajun. Coney: I just don't care for Boar's Head franks. They have an odd flavor that I have a hard time describing. Also, Mike's forgot my mustard and slaw. Sweet tea: just ok. Sweet enough and had good tea flavor but also left an odd aftertaste. Mike's is good, but there are just better places to get a Reuben or a hot dog.

We stopped in for lunch today, and came away with less than favorful feelings about the food here (at least the specific items we ordered), though the service was fast and efficient, and the place is kind of funky with the wall loaded with faux retro ads and posters. The Rueben was rather ordinary, with a smaller amount of both cheese and dressing than I've encountered in most area delis - simply ended up rather bland. This sandwich costs $6.49, on a plate (includes chips and a pickle spear) the cost goes to $7.49. Frankly, a few stale chips and an eight of a pickle for a $1 seems more than it was worth. The 2 dog plate special ($8.19 with 2 all beef Coney wieners) produced a great dog with kraut and mustard, but the second dog with mustard, chili, and onions was simply awful. The chili was without flavor, the onions were RED (a total no/no on a hot dog, imo) and were very strong (maybe old). And these were small sized wieners (no larger than the ones you get at Zack's a bit down the street for less than half the price). The price for a single dog is $2.79, goes to $2.99 for an all beef. Simply over-priced and under-sized. Can't really see coming back here. Too many other good choices close by, with better prices.

Deliciousness!! Turkey bacon w avocado!!! Oommmgggggg

Turkey BLT...oh my my my..best sandwish i've had in a while!!! Only complaint is that it was $7 i think?..for a small sandwich and no chips?? hmm this may be a place i find myself "treating" myself to.

Menu on screen and what a picture perfect sub! Mmm.

Best Italian sub around. Can't beat their portions and boars head deli. Ordered via their website powered by grub hub and it was done fast. Love love mikes deli!

My husband and I ordered in the restaurant, but they do have a digital drive thru for online pick up orders. We went a little after noon and the line was somewhat long, but the staff worked quickly to make their way through everyone's orders. I created my own Grains Bowl with half saffron basmati rice, half supergreens, traditional hummus, half grilled steak, half roasted vegetables, fiery broccoli, fire roasted corn, avocado, tomato & cucumber, Persian cucumber, shredded romaine, crumbled feta, and Greek vinaigrette (on the side). I also got a side of the hot harissa pita chips. It took maybe 15 minutes from when we entered Cava to when we sat down with our food. The food was fresh and blended well together. It was my first time trying the steak and it was absolutely delicious. I loved the pita chips too. I was a little hesitant that they would be too spicy, but they weren't at all. They were crunchy, warm, and with a hint of the harissa flavor - which was perfect to me. Pita chips feel like a must now with all Cava entrees. Restaurant was clean, bright, and buzzing with activity. The staff were friendly, but very concentrated on making sure everything was correct. The line to order was to the door when we ended up leaving. Parking is not an issue here because it's in a big shopping center. Cava is my go to place in Greensboro, so I'm excited it's closer to home now. Everyone should go show Cava some support and expect to be patient since the employees are brand new.

I liked seeing nutrition info per ingredient instead of a vague general range on the menu board. It's bright and clean, but it can get busy, and seating can be limited.

Mediterranean Deli, conveniently located on Williamson Avenue just off-campus from Elon University,…read morefeatures tasty, freshly-made, and very generous portions of Lebanese and Mediterranean cuisine in a very casual ambiance. I recently stopped in for lunch while visiting my niece at Elon and really enjoyed the experience! The atmosphere is very casual.. you place your order at the front counter and then grab a soda or iced tea from the self-serve soda fountain and a table while they prepare your plate. Our meals were freshly made and incredibly tasty. I ordered the hummus and falafel sandwich ($10), a generous portion of freshly-made falafel and regular hummus topped off with lettuce and tomato served in a pita, which was delicious and very filling. Just a heads up -- it's a little messy to eat since the hummus broke out of the bottom of the pita. Portions are reasonable for the price and the freshness of the ingredients was obvious. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the staff could be a little friendlier, but the food quality definitely makes it worth a visit while you're near campus. PRO TIP #1: Bonus points for the small sauce and pickled vegetables bar available to patrons no matter whether they grab one of the handful of small tables to enjoy their meal in-house or take their orders to enjoy elsewhere. PRO TIP #2: Mediterranean Deli doesn't have a private parking lot, but there's plenty of free on-street parking on Williamson Avenue and Lebanon Avenue.

Workers constantly watching tv, talking, or just like this last Friday, on their phones. We walked in and the man at the counter & young lady with purple hair did not look up from their phones-NOT ONE TIME. They did not greet us nor ask did we need any help. And it wasn't just us. Another customer came in and they proceeded to ignore them. This set the tone and went downhill from there. The food selection was scarce but we made do. However, the food, especially the sun dried tomato penne pasta was just bland and not good. The pasta was gummy and there was absolutely no flavor at all. We wound up tossing the food. We used to wonder why this place was never busy like the one on Chapel Hill. Now we know why-it's just not as good. Won't be returning.

While there was a wait to be seated, the server wasted no time to take care of us. We were in and out within 30 minutes once we actually were seated at a table. My husband and I shared a small thing of garlic knots (4) and the bee sting pizza. We each got our own small pesto Caesar salad too. The garlic knots were good, but I wish there was more actual garlic than the garlic butter it was sitting on top of. The bread reminded me of a pretzel you'd get at a sports game. The pesto Caesar salad tasted like a regular Caesar salad with a hint of pesto. The bee sting pizza is a combo of pepperoni and hot-honey drizzled on top. I love the combination of pepperoni and honey, but be warned...it was SPICY. Service was great and quick. While I do love takeout at Pandora's, the crust of the pizza just tasted better dining in. This is a super casual, family friendly restaurant. There's a small parking lot nearby or you can find street parking.

They loved the train memorabilia and they ate things like tomato bisque (delicious!!) with a half a sweet lady (grilled turkey, cheese and apricot preserves) in the winter and a sweet lady and water melon in summer. They always have fruit on the menu as a side dish option, fresh if they can get it in season, canned if not. My kids were excited to pick one of the trains off the shelf by the front door to play with for a moment before their lunch arrived. Since the toys were a little sticky from years of play, it taught them to wash their hands before eating and to put borrowed toys away, neatly and I had a rule that they could pick a train to play with until their meals were ready and then they put the trains away and washed their hands and ate. On a recent visit, a very elderly man who moved very slowly left his cane at his table (closest to the pickup window) and came to claim the wrong order. The young man making sandwiches and assembling final orders politely asked him to double check his order number and got the order to the right customers. While the elderly gentleman made his way back to the table to check his order number, the kitchen staff member grabbed the right order, ran through the kitchen to the dining room, and met the man at his table with his correct order. The cook covered a good distance while the customer made it 6-8 feet. The elderly man was impressed with the service and happily sat down and ate his meal, rather than being embarrassed by forgetting his order number.

Super unprofessional comment- and icing on the cake... when our food was ready and my husband went to the counter to pick it up, the other lady in the kitchen said "I should have just packed that one to go". If you want to be done at 2:30- then don't have your business hours open till 3.
