8" Philly Steak and Cheese Sub

Amazing!!!! Our first time here. Everything was fresh and hot. Very friendly service. Would recommend this place over some famous named Italian chains. There was no wait and food was out in a timely manner. Give this hidden gem a try.

Bread on top of the pasta top that had been handled with someone's hands. Wet oil on the top of the bag

Church Street - and these two are at least several notches above the other two. This location is my favorite - it is bigger, more comfortable, has a drive thru, and the food is excellent. The order is simple here - the Special Cheeseburger Basket (with L, T, & Mayo this time, though I usually go with mustard, chili, and slaw for this one), and a Chili Dog with M, C, & O. This cheeseburger is excellent, a bit bigger than their "regular" burger, and it is as tasty as any diner style burger you'll find. The Chili Dog is every bit the burger's equal. It is a bit on the smallish side (many in the Burlington area are, including Zack's), but it is a flavor dynamo, and there are not many as good as this. The FFs have a great look, and are potentially outstanding, but these were not even close to being well salted - so you end up with a fried, tasteless block of starch - if you're gonna fry'em, salt'em! They serve all 3 meals here, and offer typical small town diner fare at each one, including some lunch special with snap, like the Chicken Pie, and others. As always, know your restaurant, go for what they do well - and this place will not disappoint.

However there was an issue with almost every order. My parents were with us and my mom had to send her steak back to be cooked more. I had a 20oz bone in rib eye and it had about every temperature cook possible. Some of it was rare all the way up to a good part of it was well done. My oldest son ordered the mini burgers and couldnt chew and swallow them because of how dry they were so we sent them back and they re cooked them. They were more burnt the second time. They did take it off the cost of our order but then the bills get into a whole different issue. My parents had a coupon for free appetizer which they didnt take off and they had to adjust and then our bills was about $52 and we had a $50 gift card and for some reason only $36.99 was take. Off via the gift card and the waitress didnt give it back to us. We have the gift card receipt that says it had $50 on it so we were out about $13. I dont know if she didnt run the card right or mis charged us or what. We should have looked more thoroughly and didnt notice till we had left. We trusted they deducted the $50. We left a good tip (my parents and I because service was good but now feel like maybe they stole $13 from us). The place was extremely loud which wasn't a great atmosphere for the whole family (our 4 year old and 5month old struggled). We were happy to get out of there but regretted the choice to go. Didnt help I was there for my birthday either.

This restaurant is run by the same folks as Grill 584 (Koury Corporation, I think), and is under the direction of the chef there, David Katz - who was at the late, lamented Boss Hogg in Greensboro, and some time at Bullock's BBQ in Durham. They are offering an dinner menu that is strong on smoked meats - Hand Pulled Pork (basically Eastern NC style with some nice heat), BBQ Chicken, Smoked Turkey Breast, Texas Style Brisket, and "Smackin Good' St Louis Style Ribs, and a number of nice sides. They offer wine and have a decent beer selection. Only non-BBQ meat on the menu is Fried Chicken Livers - this is a BBQ joint setup. The meats are featured in Take Out Specials - pint of Pork BBQ for $9.95, pound of brisket for $12.95, whole smoked BBQ Chicken for $9.95. Sides are available as well. I've only tried the Pork BBQ, and it is every bit as good as that that was served at Boss Hogg - solid Eastern NC style, with some very nice heat. Looking forward to trying the other meats, especially the Brisket and Chicken. Dinner is Tue - Sat, 5 to 9. They offer a small lunch buffet, Mon thru Friday - 11AM to 2PM, for $7.49, including drink, and small salad bar. The items vary from day to day, but include Fried Chicken (very, very good, if a little salty), Chicken Pot Pie, Country Style Steak, Spaghetti, Baked Chicken, BBQ Pork, BBQ Chicken, Fried Fish (Friday), and Baked Salmon. The meats are pretty good to ordinary - the Fried Chicken is very good, the BBQ Pork is not the style served at night - covered with a sweet, tomato sauce. The veggies are ordinary to plain bad - canned or frozen, and poorly seasoned. But the meats are generally worth the price, as is the salad bar.

They have fried chicken, green beans, among other vegetables, biscuits and corn bread. I don't know what they have other days cause I go Monday just to get sauerkraut. They have banana pudding, rice pudding and chocolate something everyday for dessert. Also chicken and dumplings and fish other days. It might be worth calling to see what else cause mondays are really good. Think I'll start checking other days just out of curio. Friendly customer service
