Quick service with pleasant attitude. Small, quaint place with decent beer selection. Decent food selection. The Supreme Court was very good and roasted potatoes.

This place is the perfect hidden gem! We were headed to the outlets and found this cute little place! Love the whole theme and they commit to it with their menu and beverage item names and I love it! Service was outstanding, food came out wicked fast and everything we got was delish! I love a good tuna melt and this one did not disappoint. Their homemade chips are outstanding! Definitely will be visiting again!

This space was cute and unique! Food was solid; service was excellent, friendly and helpful staff for a few Chicagoans making their first stop in NC. Lovvved the wine special; half off. Enjoyed a nice fresh flute of bubbly for a very reasonable price. Sissy loved the mashed potatoes; we all enjoyed what looked like fresh, cut potato fries! The nephew said the salad was fresh, light and tasty! I had shrimp tacos and sis ordered the wings! We finished all the food; took dessert for the road. The blackberry pound cake and Oreo cheesecake fulfilled the sweets craving for sure!

Legal themed restaurant located in downtown Graham! The restaurant nailed it with the theme because the menu items are perfectly named. The restaurant is cozy. There are a few tables inside and out, so it can get busy depending what time you go. My husband and I arrived and it was seat yourself, so we chose a small high-top inside. We shared the fried pickle chips as an appetizer and I had the assault & battery burger (add lettuce & tomato) for my entree. The burger came with a side, so I chose fries. I enjoyed the food, but I found the fried items (pickles & fries) were slightly over salted. Service was wonderful & quick. Everyone who helped us was very nice. Parking was easy to find. There's free spots to park around the square that are steps away from the restaurant.

Very happy with this decision while in the area. A cute little pub-style restaurant with catchy names as a play on the courthouse being across the street. I had the Chipotle Turkey Panini (from the "Not as Guilty" section of the menu) and the Coconut Caramel Pie (from the "Rebuttals"). The panini was crispy and full of flavor without being greasy or dry and I loved the chipotle sauce. The chips were perfection!! Think extremely thin cut handmade and fried to a crisp... dipped in ranch and I could've placed another order. Now let's talk about dessert!!! This coconut caramel pie was also made in house which sealed my decision that I will be returning SOON. Graham crust with a light cream cheese and coconut filling, topped with toasted coconut and caramel drizzle. I left trying to formulate the recipe in my head to recreate at home. I'm counting down the days til I get it again.

Good panini sandwich and roasted potatoes served up quickly. Fun legal themes and names and nice ambiance inside. The service was fast and nice. It looked like they had a good beer and liquor bar as well.

Had to wait forever to even get our drink order taken. Service is very lacking don't waste your time. Food was good but constantly had to keep asking for things like napkins, drink right down to dessert was served without a fork. Not sure how they stay open. Top it off bathroom had no tiolet paper- so sorry i wasted my money. It was hot inside, so we moved to the patio but no wind out there.

All in all, staff are very nice, but were a bit short handed for a Monday night. I had to wait 10 minutes before my drink order was taken, but I was understanding because of the amount of employees working vs. the amount of people inside the restaurant - there were 5 from what I saw - (1 cook, 1 bartender, 1 waitress, 2 busting tables) I kinda felt sorry for them, because they definitely were running around "like a chicken with it's head off!" I got a fish sandwich and fries with wine (white zinfandel). Sorry, I forgot to take a picture of that, however that fish "hangs" off both sides of that bread! On Tuesdays they have $1.00 PBRs. On Wednesdays they have half priced wine (bottles and glasses). On Thursday they have $3.00 drafts. Although they were short staffed, definitely saw team work implemented. It was a little warm inside.... wished they would turn the thermostat to 65°, but that's just me. They did what needed to be done! They close at 8pm, but people were still walking in at 7:55pm & they were all just as friendly! I'm definitely coming back.... but next time on Wednesday! *cheers*

Grilled Chicken Bacon Ranch Tacos on Corn for Gluten-free

This restaurant is centrally located, just across from the courthouse in the town square. Hence, the name. I love towns that have retained their courthouse square, and this is definitely worth loving. The Verdict brought us a consummately fresh Caesar salad. If you go, have one. In fact, make everybody at your table get one. I ate every scrap. Then, the Bacon Chicken Ranch Tacos on Corn. Because I am gluten intolerant, I deeply appreciate any considerations a restaurant will offer me. The tacos! The bacon was crispy, the chicken well seasoned, the slaw was fresh, and The Crema!! The Crema was a perfect topping. Drippy with goodness. Hubby had the Ribeye Steak Sandwich with Red Potatoes as a side. He ate every bite of his steak sandwich, as well. The waitress was great, too - helpful, observant, service minded. I won't steer you wrong. Go there; you'll thank me.

Wow! Great food in downtown Graham! This laidback restaurant is in a historic jail building, so don't post bail on your hunger! The modern offerings are well paired with tasty classics. They had a good kids' menu. Everyone in your group will find something to eat. There was a good selection of gluten-free and dairy-free options! I got the salmon, Brussels sprouts, and hand-cut chips. Parking is accessible on the street. The service is very friendly and quick.

Verdict On the Square was my choice for lunch while in Downtown Graham. The restaurant has a sanitation score of 99.5 that I saw displayed in the window. They also have inside and outside seating that is heated. The inside tables are distanced and the employees working in the front were wearing masks. The restaurant is located in the Paris Building. The menu is what impressed me to eat here. Appetizers are "Call the Docket"; salads are "Farm Detention"; Burgers are :Guilty"; fish are "Maritime Law"; sides are "Cell Mates"; kids menu is "Juvenile Court"; there were more but those are what I remember. Service was top notch here; very attentive and made sure I had the proper sides and dressings. I ordered the District Court Burger and chose fries for the side but there were several options from mashed potatoes to green beans to a side salad. The burger was very good that I think I devoured that and the fries pretty quickly. I also got the Harvest Salad with grilled shrimp to go. The shrimp did not make it to the photo but there were six grilled shrimp. The salad is a leafy green mix; sliced apples; strawberries; grapes; dried cranberries; walnuts; goat cheese and bacon. For dessert the blackberry wine pound cake was recommended. It came out like a piece of art and was delicious as well. The desserts are homemade. This is a restaurant I will return the next time I am back in Graham.

We remembered her from a previous visit, and will request her in the future. Cocktails and mocktails were excellent, as was the sparkling wine enjoyed by one of our party of six. We were surprised and delighted to see foie gras on the menu, and it was perfectly prepared, with an accompaniment of blackberry jam. The lamb belly entree was very rich, but cooked perfectly. The vegetarian plate was beautiful and delicious. Celeriac soup and beet salad were both terrific, and the barbecued shrimp were spiced perfectly. Our only letdown was dessert - only one of the 3 options appealed, so we ordered 3 of those (key lime semifreddo) and found them to be beautifully sweet/tart. We'll be back.

Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable and gave us a rundown of the menu before we ordered. I decided to start with the Cheese Plate, which included 3 different cheeses, buttered baguette slices, jam, mustard, and pickles. I enjoy cheese plates, and this one was great, but I can understand it may not be for everyone. My wife ordered the Red Fish, which had a more Southeast Asian-inspired twist to it. It came over rice and pickled onions and beets, and the flavors were a blend of lemongrass and coconut. The fish was cooked well - nice and tender, not too dry - and the flavors went well together. I ordered the New York Strip, which was delicious - the meat was well cooked, had great flavor, and was a generous portion that was very filling. The only gripe I had was that the char on the eggplant overwhelmed the flavor, so most of what I ate tasted like burnt eggplant. The place is clean and fairly laid back for a more upscale restaurant. If you're looking for a nicer restaurant in Chapel Hill where you might spend a little more, but you'll get great service with interesting food options / combinations, then look no further than Hawthorne & Wood.

The space is modern and elegant but still cozy, with soft lighting, subtle earth tones, and an open layout that balances intimacy and energy. Service was outstanding from start to finish, attentive, informed, and genuinely enthusiastic about the menu. Let's get into the food, because this was one of the most exciting and consistently excellent meals we've had in a long time. We started with They Might Be Tostones, a clever and beautifully layered dish with Murasaki sweet potato, lime-pimentón crema, and chili crisp. It was punchy, bright, and balanced. The Warm Rustic Baguette with whipped butter and sea salt may seem simple, but it was divine, crusty on the outside, soft on the inside, and perfect for lingering. Dirt Candy, a medley of seasonal vegetables with toasted pistachio ail lade, was vibrant and thoughtfully composed. The Big Eye Tuna Carpaccio with red miso-citrus bagna cauda and delicate shoots was fresh and refined, with a perfect acidity and richness. We moved on to heartier plates like the Ricotta Gnocchi with Italian sausage, peppers, whipped ricotta, broccoli rabe, and chili flake. The gnocchi were pillowy and deeply flavorful. The Kabocha Squash & Farro with lump crab, pancetta, and miso butter was savory, slightly sweet, and full of texture. The Pan Roast with flounder, mussels, fregula, and smoky shellfish sugo was bold and briny, with layers of flavor in every bite. Two pasta dishes also stood out, the Ravioli di Manzo with Barolo-braised beef and Parmigiano was rich and comforting, while the Plin Piemontese, filled with pasture-raised pork and finished in crema di parmigiano, was elegant and silky. For dessert, we shared all three options and each one brought something different. The Citrus plate with steamed lemon pudding and lemon curd was light, tart, and texturally playful. The Cheesecake with maple mascarpone and cranberry compote was creamy, nutty, and not overly sweet. But the star was the Chocolate Fondant, extra dark, gooey, with salted caramel gelato and hazelnut crumble. An absolutely unforgettable finish. OakLeaf is a standout. Every dish felt thoughtful, seasonal, and beautifully executed. We will absolutely be back.
