Work travels took me to Burlington today so in my sandwich shop search, I remembered seeing this location. It's very easy to order before seating and there is a pick up window that displays your ticket number when your food is ready. I ordered the portobello sandwich and changed the wheat to sourdough. The bread was nice and toasty and I only needed to add a little salt and pepper to the mushrooms. The same with the pasta salad. My only wish that the veggies were a little fuller on the sandwich.

Southbound Sandwich Works is located along South Church Street (US 70) in a small shopping center. After getting settled into the hotel we were staying at, we decided to get something a little more. After checking reviews for different places, we decided to give this place a try. When we got here, the lot was pretty empty, but it was around 7:45 pm when we got there, and their closing time was 8:30 pm. Once you come up to the place, you can tell right away that this place is train themed. The names on the menu items also reflect this theme. We were immediately greeted by one of the staff. We took a little while to decide since this was the first time here. After looking over the menu, I ended up going with The Highrail sandwich with chips, which is a Philly cheese steak, but told them no mushrooms due to an allergy. A few minutes later, the order was ready. The one who served us at the counter ended up bringing it out to us instead of us going up to the window to get it. My mom had gotten a half salad instead. The Highrail was good and hot, along with the bread being very soft, so it was very good and easy to eat. My mom said the salad was good as well. Overall, this was a good find in the Burlington area. The food was good and so was the service. It was nice and clean as well. The one thing that could be improved is the pricing. The half salad seemed to be overpriced for the size that was actually received. Even though that was the case, I would come back to this place in the future if I'm in the area.

Screen shot from the menu page of their website. No prices on any page. And the order online function is disabled.

Quick service and reasonable prices. Also like the variety of the menu. You can mix soups, salads and sandwiches.

Great sandwiches, nice atmosphere and especially nice people. Reasonable prices sometimes a little wait to order but worth it.

My husband and I ordered in the restaurant, but they do have a digital drive thru for online pick up orders. We went a little after noon and the line was somewhat long, but the staff worked quickly to make their way through everyone's orders. I created my own Grains Bowl with half saffron basmati rice, half supergreens, traditional hummus, half grilled steak, half roasted vegetables, fiery broccoli, fire roasted corn, avocado, tomato & cucumber, Persian cucumber, shredded romaine, crumbled feta, and Greek vinaigrette (on the side). I also got a side of the hot harissa pita chips. It took maybe 15 minutes from when we entered Cava to when we sat down with our food. The food was fresh and blended well together. It was my first time trying the steak and it was absolutely delicious. I loved the pita chips too. I was a little hesitant that they would be too spicy, but they weren't at all. They were crunchy, warm, and with a hint of the harissa flavor - which was perfect to me. Pita chips feel like a must now with all Cava entrees. Restaurant was clean, bright, and buzzing with activity. The staff were friendly, but very concentrated on making sure everything was correct. The line to order was to the door when we ended up leaving. Parking is not an issue here because it's in a big shopping center. Cava is my go to place in Greensboro, so I'm excited it's closer to home now. Everyone should go show Cava some support and expect to be patient since the employees are brand new.

Mediterranean Deli, conveniently located on Williamson Avenue just off-campus from Elon University,…read morefeatures tasty, freshly-made, and very generous portions of Lebanese and Mediterranean cuisine in a very casual ambiance. I recently stopped in for lunch while visiting my niece at Elon and really enjoyed the experience! The atmosphere is very casual.. you place your order at the front counter and then grab a soda or iced tea from the self-serve soda fountain and a table while they prepare your plate. Our meals were freshly made and incredibly tasty. I ordered the hummus and falafel sandwich ($10), a generous portion of freshly-made falafel and regular hummus topped off with lettuce and tomato served in a pita, which was delicious and very filling. Just a heads up -- it's a little messy to eat since the hummus broke out of the bottom of the pita. Portions are reasonable for the price and the freshness of the ingredients was obvious. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the staff could be a little friendlier, but the food quality definitely makes it worth a visit while you're near campus. PRO TIP #1: Bonus points for the small sauce and pickled vegetables bar available to patrons no matter whether they grab one of the handful of small tables to enjoy their meal in-house or take their orders to enjoy elsewhere. PRO TIP #2: Mediterranean Deli doesn't have a private parking lot, but there's plenty of free on-street parking on Williamson Avenue and Lebanon Avenue.

There was an employee there chit chatting with a customer while we waited. She then walked away and said someone would be with us shortly. The stand was unattended and we weren't even sure we were in the correct spot. The opposite lot was full so we parked on the south side and thankfully got it right. It would be helpful to mark the entrance in case we parked the opposite side. The turn in going south has one turn on the opposite end. Plenty of parking. The place looks brand new: nice decor. Server Chelsea was very nice and helpful. She got a chicken pasta Alfredo and I got a shrimp and crab cake sandwich. The pasta was way overdone and mushy. It was even very watery. The chicken was sweet. Sweet chicken and Alfredo was pretty terrible. They said all the chicken has the sweet marinade. They should have specified that on the menu because we would have never ordered sweet chicken especially not with Alfredo sauce. The dish in my opinion was pretty bad. I would give that a 1.5/5. Mine was decent. I liked the dill sauce. The bun was sweet and small for the patty but it was ok. The fries were over salted but they came out piping hot and fresh. Would I eat there again? Probably not. It's a small menu with a lot of chicken dishes. Their signature sweet chicken sauce was a turn off for both of us. It was reasonably priced and the server was nice. Overall I have to give the place a 3.5/5. The waiting when we went in and having ro listen to an employee chatting with her friend was off putting while we waited. Had she acknowledged and said someone was coming would have been fine but she completely ignored us until she finished her conversation before saying anything and that was a good 2-3 minutes. The food was a 2.5/5 and the service from Chelsea was excellent. I can't say the same for the lady that ignored us. I give it a 3/5 for that reason. Rounding it up to 4 only because it was so clean and Chelsea's attendance
