I was traveling thru Burlington NC and as always I wanted Korean food. I ordered gimbap and black bean noodles. The food was ok, nothing special especially for Korean food. The food was small portions, but I wanted it and ate it.

First time visiting this place, with my family, to sit & dine. Small interior with about 6 tables. I mainly wanted to try this place for their gimbap (Korean rice roll) because there is nowhere I can find that sells this near me. While there, I also ordered their vegetable noodle dish. It took about 40 minutes to get all of our orders out (4 people). It did have a sign that said 'cooked to order', which is great, but to wait that long, I was disappointed that side dishes were not included (like how other Korean restaurants normally have) & the portion size didn't seem enough. What I ordered had very good flavor, but the gimbap was TINY and the vegetable noodle dish came with rice (which I was pretty glad about) but there seemed to be more rice than the noodles itself.. Prices were good for what you were being given. Overall, this was an aye ok Korean takeout spot. But if you're looking for some side dishes & bigger portions for your buck, you may want to look elsewhere..

Beef bimbap this is a place I will NEVER visit again!

I'm so disappointed! My first try after hearing wonderful things and I open my box of food to see rice thrown in with scraps of beef. I thought this was made to order but all I heard was the microwave. Then this dry rice and pieces of beef?! I spent $15 and this is what I got? How unprofessional to even offer this to a customer! I will NEVER return and I will be sure to let everyone that I know to not waste money here! I'm so disappointed!!!!

As we approached the restaurant there was signs starting They are only offering take out orders and you wait in your car they will bring it right to you. We were greeted by a a cute older couple and the husband took our order. The menu was short and simple I ordered the tofu bibimbap I asked for fried egg. My son got their spicy chicken bowl. We were told 15 mins and he would bring to our car. We sat in the car for five minutes. We couldn't resist the the donut shop next door that was just taunting us with it's sweet yummy aroma. (Review coming soon) We got donuts and waited another 5 minutes in the car before the uncle came walking towards our car. We had to rush back to the work site but my kid's food looked and smelled yummy as I was driving back. He made many sounds with was an indicator that it was yummy and spicy. I had 5 minutes before I had to go back into the void and I opened my plate and it was soo pretty and colorful. I was having an egg and rice craving. My first bite was heaven. It was like having that childhood craving full filled. You know kind of like when you eat pb&j sandwich even though you hate them now.

If you have a love for authentic Korean food like I do, you MUST check out Mixed Rice in Burlington, NC. The atmosphere is a little dated but don't let it fool you. The food is right up there with some of the best Korean cuisine I've ever eaten. I had to try several of my favorites on the menu which included beef bulgogi on a bed of white rice, japchae (glass noodles with beef bulgogi and vegetables in a savory sauce), duk bok Ki (rice dumplings with a spicy, slightly sweet kochujang sauce), Napa cabbage kimchi and radish kimchi. There is nothing negative I can say about anything I tried. Mixed Rice will be my new regular spot. Don't pass it up if you're ever in Burlington!!

Food was tasty, and tasted genuine. Really good amount of food too! 4 stars because the food wasn't super warm when we got it but we did have a bigger order (4x people).

Delicious! We loved the bulgogi and the glass noodles. I do recommend ordering extra meat but for the price point it's great.

This is the best home style Korean food around. Their kimbap is fun to eat. I also love their red bean buns.

The server sat me right away as I was there just 30 minutes after their opening. By the time I was wrapping up my meal it was more crowded and I witnessed a lot of people come for pick-up. Seems very popular. The menu wasn't too expansive, but it had a bunch of Korean dishes that I would love to return and try. I was in the mood for soup so I ordered their spicy kimchi stew with pork. The food came quickly, again I was there fairly early. The stew was served with banchan (Korean side dishes) and rice. The banchan consisted of broccoli, bean sprouts, kimchi, cucumber kimchi, tofu skins, and marinated potatoes. They all have very different flavors and each of them go well as a side dish with the stew and rice. I prefer kimchi on the spicier side but again that is my personal preference. The kimchi stew came out sizzling and smelled wonderful. I tried all the side dishes while it cooled down a bit. Once I was able to dig in it was packed full of flavor didn't need anything added. I would say it was more mild than spicy but I have a higher spice tolerance than most. Overall I had a pleasant experience enjoyed the service and the food will return with husband and kids to try more of their menu. I hope everything is just as good as the stew was.

We had kimchee, bean sprouts, broccoli, tomato and cucumber, and some kind of fish...whatever they were they were tasty. My husband ordered prawns. They brought them to the table raw and seasoned to be cooked on the metal platter in the center of the table. I got chicken that was already prepared and again so yummy! Both meals came with salad and rice and every table received the appetizers. I will say the price is on the upper end, but it is well worth the price because it was so good. There were families with children and everybody seemed to be enjoying their meal as much as we did!

The biggest disappointment was the pork belly bao buns. Each bun only had a very thin slice of pork belly, so it ended up being mostly bread. Flavor-wise they were still good, but I expected a bit more filling. I also didn't feel like the sides (the coleslaw and pickles) gave an authentic Korean vibe, though everything still tasted decent. The fries were good and the service was great. My waiter was friendly and attentive, which definitely improved the experience. Overall, it was a solid lunch, but the value could be better. I would still come back, mostly because there aren't many places in the Triad where you can get pork belly bao buns.
