Stopped here for lunch on a Friday with a co-worker. It was busy, but we were seated quickly, and although the food took a little longer than expected, it was absolutely worth the wait. The vibe inside is great -- a cool sports bar feel with tons of open space and two separate bar areas. I ordered the grilled chicken, and it was honestly one of the best I've had. Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and served in two pieces, so it was super filling. I also got a side salad, which was fresh and really good. My co-worker ordered the honey sriracha wings, and she let me try one. It was perfectly crunchy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and packed with flavor. My family came here for dinner and it was an amazing experience. Our waitress Kiara was awesome and was very attentive to our table. We asked suggestions about the menu and she gave her honest opinion which was nice. The food was great! We order wings, burgers and sushi and everything was excellent. The entrance tables could be considered outside too which was very cool. The restaurant was clean. The only con was the bathrooms and that they weren't clean but overall everything was amazing. I know it's a chain, but I need to go to Drake's more often because it is GOOD. I went with my husband on a Thursday evening and we were seated immediately at a high top near the bar area. We ordered the warm pretzels & cheese sauce to share for an appetizer. For my meal, I got the Big Blue Burger with tots. You can pick any other side though. My husband ordered the Buffalo Chicken Mac 'N Cheese. Everything was delicious! And service was wonderful. The place can get a little crowded with a wait time, but that's to be expected. We visited on a Saturday afternoon around 330. There was a 30 minute wait, which actually ended up being about 45. I had a friend with me and my 1 year old nephew. They sat us at a high top table with a high chair on the end. The high chair was tall enough to reach the table, but didn't seem very stable as it kept rocking back and forth whenever my nephew moved. We ended up taking him out and just holding him instead. The server said they didn't have another one available. I ended up choosing the fried chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries as my entree. It was a massive sandwich and very tasty. The kids meal was a large portion as well. We got a grilled cheese with Mac n cheese and I was surprised at how much he ate! He really enjoyed the Mac n cheese. I tasted it and it was a good balance of cheesy and creamy. My friend chose a burger and she said it was just okay, nothing exciting or anything she would get again, but it wasn't a bad burger. We both agreed we would come back, probably without a child this time, and try the sushi and order a cocktail. read more

How often can you get SUSHI and BURGERS in the same place? This is perfect for groups when not everyone loves sushi! We came for the sushi. The menu was a mix of cooked and uncooked sushi so it's a good spot for those not all-in with raw fish. I ordered a sushi on special which was a LEMON SMOKED SALMON WITH AVOCADO AND CREAM CHEESE ROLL. It is not a normal sushi item that you find and I really liked the lemon citrus twist!!! I also ordered a SPICY TUNA ROLL TOPPED WITH WHITE FISH. The spice was perfect for flavoring without leaving your mouth feeling like it was burned. Their beer selection on tap is huge, and rotates too much to keep on printed menu. Be aware the printed menu only lists the normal stays. Scan th QR code to see current beer tap list. My son got the mini burgers and his only complaint was that the buns were grilled lol. He loved the Mac and cheese. Drake's is a chain but this seems to be one of only a few locations on the East coast. The atmosphere was laid back and breezy (literally) with open garage doors surrounding multiple seating areas and bars. That was nice. I was apprehensive about the burger/sushi combination on the menu, which was large and diverse. The eel roll was good, although I've had better at Japanese focused restaurants, for cheaper. The roll was cut oddly in that several of the pieces were too huge to fit in your mouth while others were small. The red sangria was not the freshest and syrupy. The service was decent, but insincere. The meal was fast and it was clear our server was ready for us to get out, she didn't ask if we wanted dessert or another round just brought the check abruptly. My boyfriend hadn't even stood all the way up from his chair before she was grabbing his beer glass and bussing the table. read more

I recently got takeout from Drake's Burlington, and it did not disappoint! I ordered the BBQ Burger with a side of fries, and it was a fantastic meal. The BBQ Burger was definitely the highlight--every bite was packed with flavor, and the sauce was absolutely amazing. It had the perfect balance of sweetness and smokiness, making each bite better than the last. The fries were extra crispy, which I didn't mind at all--they had a nice crunch and paired well with the burger. Overall, a great takeout experience! I'll definitely be ordering from here again. After probably 15 to 20 meals at Drake's in Burlington, North Carolina, I feel like I can stay with a fair amount of confidence, this is a solid, four star, location and restaurant, to include products. The food is always been good, with the caveat being sometimes they're deep-fried items and have like a loose Batter to them so like you pick up your fried pickles and like the fried part is literally falling off of it so it's kind of whatever and that's been pretty consistent but love sandwiches steaks seafood burgers all that stuff is always been very good. Price is moderate to moderate high, I mean it's not fine dining prices but it's gonna be probably around $70 or so for a couple to have dinner there. They are usually Pretty crowded, but seating is been consistently prompt, and I've gone at all times of the day at this point so during the day, on a Friday evening, on a Sunday at 4 PM, never really been an issue, especially given that they have a pretty consistent Crowd in there. Service members are pleasant, I've never had a bad experience with one no attitude, and any issues with food has always been addressed immediately with the smile, and if you are going there for a drink, you're gonna find more than likely, a pleasant bartender, who is very welcoming and will serve you The numerous items they have available. We went with our daughters team (so large group )and you cannot make reservations ahead of time but you can put your name on the waitlist so we waited about an hour. Our waitress was very nice and did her best but my food did not arrive until everyone else was almost done eating. The bar is great and when they finally brought my hamburger it was good. Drake's is a really fun (chain) bar/restaurant in Burlington with great food and drink options. Their big selling point is that they offer sushi, along with traditional upscale bar food, something for everyone! Everything I've ever ordered here has been great and I've never experienced any issues. This is my go to place in the area when meeting up with friends and honestly just what Alamance Crossing needs. The service is usually pretty good. Sometimes, parking can be tough despite it being a large lot, depending on how busy they are. I always always always have to order the Crab Rangoon Roll, it's too good not to! In addition to that on my last visit, I also ordered The All American Burger. It's good. Not the best burger I've ever had by any means, but still good. The fries were great! My friend ordered the Baked Lava roll (her personal favorite) and the sliders (not pictured). All very good. I would say their prices tend to be a bit higher than other comparable places, especially for the American food section. Is the food worth the prices? Eh..somewhat. Depending on what the food item is. The atmosphere is what I feel you're mainly paying for, especially in this area when not many other places like Drake's are around. I would definitely recommend Drake's as a good option for dining if you're in Burlington or traveling through an area that has a Drake's as it is a chain. read more

We waited over 10 minutes just to be greeted. After placing our drink and appetizer orders, the appetizer arrived about 10 minutes later--but still no drinks, silverware, or plates to share it. Eventually, four out of five drinks arrived, and we asked about the missing one. Angel shouted to someone else to bring it, explaining she couldn't carry more than four drinks at a time. She took our entrée orders, but when our food arrived, four out of five meals came to the table, and we still had no silverware. We had to retrieve silverware ourselves just to eat. Angel didn't check on us once during the meal, and then a second appetizer--identical to the one we had already received--was dropped off. When we told the server we didn't order another, he said, "It's for the table." Shortly after, another server came over, asked about the extra appetizer, and admitted it belonged to another table. They picked it up and handed it to the other guests. Meanwhile, the fifth entrée never arrived. Everyone else finished their meals, so we flagged down another server to ask Angel to return. When she finally came back, I asked why she hadn't checked on us. Her response? "I'm too busy and in the weeds." We reminded her that we were still missing a meal, and she said she'd check on it. After another 25 minutes, we gave up and asked a different server to bring us the check. Angel eventually returned and explained that there was a mix-up because she didn't have a handheld device and was forced to write everything down. She said she had written down all five entrées, but there was a kitchen error. Eventually, the manager brought the missing meal, but by then, it was far too late to salvage the experience. To top it off, we: * Never received drink refills. * Were never given silverware or plates without asking or retrieving them ourselves. * Had to deal with another server delivering our bill because Angel was "too embarrassed" to return to the table herself. Angel relayed through the other server that she knew she didn't deserve a tip. While we still left one--because we aren't the kind of people who leave without tipping--I can confidently say we will never return to this restaurant. There are far superior restaurants in the area that, at the very least, make sure their guests have basic essentials like silverware and attentive service. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. read more
