Stopped by Drake's in Burlington last night around 9:30 PM with my nephew, and overall this was a very good experience. The food came out looking great. Everything was presented well, tasted good, and despite it being later in the evening, nothing about the meal or experience felt rushed or like we were getting the "end of the night" version of anything from them. Our server, Ty, was excellent. Professional, attentive, friendly, and simply good at her job. She stayed on top of everything without being too much, made sure we had what we needed, and helped make the entire experience enjoyable, which meant a lot to her since this was my nephew's first time here. The one area I'd improve is addressing the front door host area. Last night we stood there a bit longer than necessary, waiting for a hostess, before my nephew noticed the sign next to the stand telling guests to find their own seats. Once we saw it, no problem whatsoever. We grabbed a booth and carried on. BUT even better, if there isn't someone dedicated to the hostess stand later in the evening, a quick "Welcome in! Feel free to grab a seat anywhere" from someone nearby or working the bar (about 10-12 feet away from the front door) would immediately make the experience feel more intentional and welcoming. That's a relatively small issue, but it's also the difference between a very good (5-star) experience and a slightly lower one. Overall, good food, great presentation, and excellent service from Ty. She represented Drake's extremely well and absolutely deserves the recognition. read more

Drakes has a lot of high top tables. The menu has a wide range of options that will surely satisfy your entire group's appetite. They have a range of appetizers, burgers, tacos, and even sushi! I was actually very impressed their side salad. My quesadilla was so good. It was huge. I had leftovers. My son loved his tots and chicken tenders. I had an adult beverage and it was pretty good. They were busy for the holiday. The service was a bit slow, but our waiter was very nice. If your group can't decide on where to eat, this is your best bet. I'm telling you, they have something for everyone. read more

Pretty decent spot for bar food. I had the Southwest Black Bean Burger and was pleasantly surprised-it was flavorful and actually better than I expected. Our server was attentive and helpful throughout the visit, which was a nice touch. My cocktail was pretty weak, but everything else was solid. There are plenty of TVs throughout, so this is a nice spot if you're looking for something casual, want to hang out, or catch a game. read more

Great fireplace, Great staff, great food!! Went into Drakes early on Valentine's Day afternoon. We were seated right away by the fire place. The staff was very pleasant. The fire was warm and toasty. And the food was great. Great way to spend the early afternoon!! Can't wait to go back for some of their weekend specials. read more

Stopped here for lunch on a Friday with a co-worker. It was busy, but we were seated quickly, and although the food took a little longer than expected, it was absolutely worth the wait. The vibe inside is great -- a cool sports bar feel with tons of open space and two separate bar areas. I ordered the grilled chicken, and it was honestly one of the best I've had. Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and served in two pieces, so it was super filling. I also got a side salad, which was fresh and really good. My co-worker ordered the honey sriracha wings, and she let me try one. It was perfectly crunchy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and packed with flavor. Overall, great lunch spot with excellent food and a fun atmosphere. read more

IYKYK...in case you don't.. recommend you try Drake's! This was my first visit, I stopped for a late lunch and was glad I did. I have been bypassing Drake's but now I know! I had the black bean burger with waffled sweet potatoes fries and a side of broccoli, it was delicious!! I definitely will try the sushi next time. The service great, the food arrived quickly. Love the outdoor seating options, it's spacious. read more

My family came here for dinner and it was an amazing experience. Our waitress Kiara was awesome and was very attentive to our table. We asked suggestions about the menu and she gave her honest opinion which was nice. The food was great! We order wings, burgers and sushi and everything was excellent. The entrance tables could be considered outside too which was very cool. The restaurant was clean. The only con was the bathrooms and that they weren't clean but overall everything was amazing. We'll definitely be back again. read more

I know it's a chain, but I need to go to Drake's more often because it is GOOD. I went with my husband on a Thursday evening and we were seated immediately at a high top near the bar area. We ordered the warm pretzels & cheese sauce to share for an appetizer. For my meal, I got the Big Blue Burger with tots. You can pick any other side though. My husband ordered the Buffalo Chicken Mac 'N Cheese. Everything was delicious! And service was wonderful. The place can get a little crowded with a wait time, but that's to be expected. The restaurant is very lively with a sports bar feel with TVs. I'll be adding Drake's into my local restaurant rotation. read more

Can't decide what to get? Sushi or burgers? Drakes got you! Here's our experience. Okay, I got the smash burger and that for me was a 10! Super messy though. My man got the sushi sashimi it was mid but I did ordered some rolls and that was a 10 for me! The drinks were disappointing for us. We travel a lot and know a good drink by the look of it when it's giving to us. The Ambiance is nice I love every detail in the place very welcoming and warm. The staff is nice just a bit slow. read more

Drake's - My man looking at the menu. Hmmm sushi or a burger - Burgers Near Me - Burlington, North Carolina

Wait for a cheddar burger and two sliders was 45-50 minute. The bartender said they were backed up! Wrong! People at the table near the bar came in after us ordered and were eating and we still didn't get our food! Music too loud! Could have gone to Freddies near by 10x faster. When service sucks that bad you start offering deep discounts! read more

Seems like every time I come here I eat at the bar and the service is horrible. Typically I have to wave down a bartender to get them to take my order. Tonight was no different except worse. First the bartender didn't acknowledge me at all when I came in and after about 5 mins came over, no greeting, just "what can I get you". The space where I was sitting at the bar was dirty, it had an empty beer glass and crumbs and so forth on the bar. I had to ask her to wipe down the bar in front of me. Wouldn't that be the first thing you would do when a guest comes in after a friendly greeting? Not here. So it was 10:00 pm and I asked if the kitchen was still open. She told me it closed in 15 mins which I found to be a little odd. A kitchen that closes at 10:15? So I immediately ordered a beer and a sandwich. She brought the beer right over and i sipped on it for the next 30 mins wondering when my food would come out. She never checked on me again during this time. Finally, I had to flag down the bartender to ask where was my food. She didn't say a word and just walked back to the kitchen. She came back and told me they had apparently taken it to the wrong table so they would remake it and have it out in 5 mins. It came out in 5 mins and I watched as the manager that brought it out took it to someone on the other side of the bar. I called out to her to let her know that was my food. She brought it over and politely apologized for the second mix up. The food was good and they did add a comp dessert for my trouble so I'll give them credit for that. I come here only because it's open late, I feel like I expect poor service at the bar because it's that way every time I come in here. These bartenders need customer service 101 training. read more

We visited on a Saturday afternoon around 330. There was a 30 minute wait, which actually ended up being about 45. I had a friend with me and my 1 year old nephew. They sat us at a high top table with a high chair on the end. The high chair was tall enough to reach the table, but didn't seem very stable as it kept rocking back and forth whenever my nephew moved. We ended up taking him out and just holding him instead. The server said they didn't have another one available. I ended up choosing the fried chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries as my entree. It was a massive sandwich and very tasty. The kids meal was a large portion as well. We got a grilled cheese with Mac n cheese and I was surprised at how much he ate! He really enjoyed the Mac n cheese. I tasted it and it was a good balance of cheesy and creamy. My friend chose a burger and she said it was just okay, nothing exciting or anything she would get again, but it wasn't a bad burger. We both agreed we would come back, probably without a child this time, and try the sushi and order a cocktail. read more

How often can you get SUSHI and BURGERS in the same place? This is perfect for groups when not everyone loves sushi! We came for the sushi. The menu was a mix of cooked and uncooked sushi so it's a good spot for those not all-in with raw fish. I ordered a sushi on special which was a LEMON SMOKED SALMON WITH AVOCADO AND CREAM CHEESE ROLL. It is not a normal sushi item that you find and I really liked the lemon citrus twist!!! I also ordered a SPICY TUNA ROLL TOPPED WITH WHITE FISH. The spice was perfect for flavoring without leaving your mouth feeling like it was burned. Their beer selection on tap is huge, and rotates too much to keep on printed menu. Be aware the printed menu only lists the normal stays. Scan th QR code to see current beer tap list. This so a great all around place that can feed a diverse group! read more

Enjoyed the pretzels! They were perfect, soft and chewy. I got the morning glory burger and it was huge. The burger was seasoned really well. My son got the mini burgers and his only complaint was that the buns were grilled lol. He loved the Mac and cheese. I had broccoli for a side and it might have been top 3 broccoli I've had out to eat. Waitress was really great too. Enjoyed our experience overall. read more

Drake's is a chain but this seems to be one of only a few locations on the East coast. The atmosphere was laid back and breezy (literally) with open garage doors surrounding multiple seating areas and bars. That was nice. I was apprehensive about the burger/sushi combination on the menu, which was large and diverse. The eel roll was good, although I've had better at Japanese focused restaurants, for cheaper. The roll was cut oddly in that several of the pieces were too huge to fit in your mouth while others were small. The red sangria was not the freshest and syrupy. The service was decent, but insincere. The meal was fast and it was clear our server was ready for us to get out, she didn't ask if we wanted dessert or another round just brought the check abruptly. My boyfriend hadn't even stood all the way up from his chair before she was grabbing his beer glass and bussing the table. read more

It's been a year since we came here. I received a gift card from the management after my last review because of the terrible experience we had. So, we decided to give this place another try. We returned today for another birthday dinner and I'm gonna say I had high hopes that last visit was a fluke but I'm afraid it only got worse. Service was slow. Very slow. Apps and meals delivered almost all at the same time. Except one that came after everyone else was almost done eating. (They did comp that meal.) My food was only luke warm. One meal, steak was burnt on one side and pretty raw on the other with absolutely no seasoning. We had to flag down someone for a refill. And two different for silverware. I also saw another table sending food back. read more

Absolutely terrible experience at Drake's. Waited over an HOUR for a simple pickup order, only to find out the food had been sitting on their cart the entire time because apparently no one could be bothered to run orders out. I went inside TWICE trying to figure out what was going on while cooks and wait staff stood around on their phones and piles of to-go boxes stacked up everywhere. The worst part was the manager's response. Instead of apologizing or taking accountability, she told me, "I could have stopped at your car to check on your order." That's not my job, t's your restaurant's responsibility to manage orders and provide basic customer service. Completely unorganized, lazy service, and zero sense of urgency. Food sat getting cold while employees ignored customers. One of the most frustrating restaurant experiences I've had in a long time. Won't be back. read more

I recently got takeout from Drake's Burlington, and it did not disappoint! I ordered the BBQ Burger with a side of fries, and it was a fantastic meal. The BBQ Burger was definitely the highlight--every bite was packed with flavor, and the sauce was absolutely amazing. It had the perfect balance of sweetness and smokiness, making each bite better than the last. The fries were extra crispy, which I didn't mind at all--they had a nice crunch and paired well with the burger. Overall, a great takeout experience! I'll definitely be ordering from here again. Adding pictures soon! Update 1-30-25: I recently got the BBQ Burger from Drake's again, and something was missing this time--maybe the BBQ sauce? This is going to bring my review down by one star. Update 2-1-25: I called Drake's back about the missing honey jalapeño barbecue sauce on my burger, and the manager, Cheryl, took care of it by having my order remade. Thank you, Cheryl--my burger was much better! read more

So this was our first visit to drakes! Food, amazing! Nice for my husband to have something he likes and for me to get something I like as well! We have our 6 month old with us & the restaurant isn't too loud at all! Very accommodating! We will be back, thank you for a great first visit! Special thankyou to our waiter Kaleb! read more

What can I say... the food was fine BUT the service was beyond terrible - we had to wait unbelievable amount of time for refill of water - had to ask multiple different wait staff for beers - we waited almost 30 minutes for our food to come out - then we were over charged and and the staff had the audacity to tell us the bill was correct but when we pointed out their mistake all they could say was sorry and said they were understaff! Drake's is a really fun (chain) bar/restaurant in Burlington with great food and drink options. Their big selling point is that they offer sushi, along with traditional upscale bar food, something for everyone! Everything I've ever ordered here has been great and I've never experienced any issues. This is my go to place in the area when meeting up with friends and honestly just what Alamance Crossing needs. The service is usually pretty good. Sometimes, parking can be tough despite it being a large lot, depending on how busy they are. I always always always have to order the Crab Rangoon Roll, it's too good not to! In addition to that on my last visit, I also ordered The All American Burger. It's good. Not the best burger I've ever had by any means, but still good. The fries were great! My friend ordered the Baked Lava roll (her personal favorite) and the sliders (not pictured). All very good. I would say their prices tend to be a bit higher than other comparable places, especially for the American food section. Is the food worth the prices? Eh..somewhat. Depending on what the food item is. The atmosphere is what I feel you're mainly paying for, especially in this area when not many other places like Drake's are around. I would definitely recommend Drake's as a good option for dining if you're in Burlington or traveling through an area that has a Drake's as it is a chain. read more
