Take the second driveway... I followed another car thinking he knew where they were going and realized they didn't lol! I was in the Waipahu area and needed to mail a package after a long couple of holiday the hours and lines has me pushing back mailing a package to a friend and knows that the delay didn't matter though was anxious to get it done. Driving up Leoku Street there is a driveway that seems like the one but it's for the USPS trucks to enter so you need to enter the second driveway which will take you to the post office which doesn't look like it as it has no sign or no suggestions that it's a post office. Lots of parking for easy access and love that they have a self service kiosk for you to mail your package as it's very convenient for all types of shipping as I used it to calculate the estimated cost before deciding on using the flat rate boxes or just on my own depending on the weight that will calculate the cost of shipping. You can find lots of table top to finish packing/writing what you need as this spacious location is very user friendly along with a driveway outside that leads up to a mailbox so you don't need to exit your car to mail your letter is a unique feature not found at many locations. I've been tracking a package that got mailed from California on Monday morning, with a delivery date of Thursday to Kapolei. Well, the Waipahu office got the package at 4am, yet they failed to get it on a delivery truck in time so the package is now delayed. Why? It's not weather related. This is my go to post office location when I need to get flat rate boxes, postage stamps & send out my care packages to family & friends. The staff here are friendly & pleasant. They have greeting cards, pens, packing tape, & packaging needs here available for purchase. I've had a situation with a flat rate box that was returned to me in error, I was assisted by the Waipahu USPS Manager "Sunshine". She took her time to research the issue that occurred on the California side, & she was able to get my box back out for on time delivery. The parking is convenient & the lines do get long at peak times, but they are fast here. read more

Even though I used GPS to find this Post Office, I turned into the wrong driveway. I saw a gate with Postal vehicles in the lot... locked away! Haha... That must be a clue as to what kind of environment this service is in. I didn't see any American flag or large sign to indicate that this is a US Post Office. I guess it was kind of deserted, after-hours, on a Saturday. The doors were closed and locked. Shucks. Other Post Offices have self-service kiosks for mailing packages anytime. Some dumb fuck head post man didnt put my package in my box because it only had my name on the address line but had the rest of the address while putting my other mail in my box with also my name on it. Then sent my shit back to sender in the mainland I waited 2 weeks for it. Now I have to wait another 2 weeks to get it back. Fuck that guy specifically. It was an important package i was waiting for. Depending on what time you go, the line here can be long. They have a decent size parking lot which is great as it can get busy. The staff has always been nice and the line usually moves quickly even when there is long. Today I can at about 340pm and there was no line. I guess it just depends on the time of day and what day it is. The inside of the Post Office has PO Boxes on the left and shipping needs as well as a kiosk on the right. They also have many flat rate boxes available. This location is one of the bigger locations and I like coming here when I am in the area. read more

I had a P O Box at Waipahu Post office since they opened all the good old timers retired. I went in to check my mailbox and I had No mail like I haven't checked it for over a month why ? No mail I stand in line and I've asked the guy why I have no mail? The guy asking the other workers about my mailbox? Took him a while to get the answer He said they Closed my box but I've paid my box from January until June so I was confused and upset. I've asked the guy you have no right to close my Mailbox and return my mail. This is a Federal government Post Office and your all at fault for doing that I had important mail coming to this Address. would award no star if I could. Not only is Kunia the "training location" for this branch but the incompetence on delivering packages amazes me. Either the package will go to the wrong apartment and the driver is too afraid to knock on the door to get the package back or (this is the funniest one) rather then walk around the area to see where my apartment is at, they say that there's no such address and then return the package to sender (knowing that just the day before a package from the same company was just delivere) wow guys! wow, whoever is hiring these people needs gold star next to their name and a special hat that says "Fragile, Handle with Care" Whatever is being smoked over there is getting better and better. Since 2014-2022 we've had the most AMAZING/spunky carrier--Mel. She was never late delivering our office mail/packages, etc. She was about 5'5" but she effortlessly handed us our regular mail AND carried the boxes/oversized parcels into our office during business hours. It was rare that our deliveries ever came in after hours or Mel needing to leave a key/missed delivery slip in our mailbox. We were sad to hear she retired during the Covid pandemic. The carrier we've had since her retirement is a local guy, likely between 30-40yrs old with less than 5yrs on the job. He's never consistent. Most of the time, our packages are posted as "delivered" but, in fact, WASN'T! We've had some of our usual important business mail go missing only to find out they were labeled as "undeliverable" & returned to sender(s) for no reason. He plays cool but really gets a kick making customers go on a wild goose chase for their packages! My boss was expecting 4 packages this week. Only 1 package was delivered to us in hand by the carrier on Monday.. Yesterday morning at 8:30am, I checked our mailbox but it was completely empty. Then we open our office & here comes our office neighbor delivering another package to us. Later that same morning, the carrier delivers another package just by itself & gives me a long story of how he supposedly came on Tuesday but no one was in the office (which is a lie because we were open til 2pm Tuesday & no deliveries were made). So he left the pink slip in our mailbox for us to now pick it up at the station. So I go back to the mailbox before we closed business at noon & SURPRISE--the pink slip magically appeared dated from Tuesday! Mind u it was marked 7/30 as "unable to leave in a safe place" & "First Attempt" to pick up at station by 7/31. Confusing right? Why not just deliver that missed package today when u gave me the other package earlier today--right? How come it was sent back to the station after only ONE missed attempt? Omg..if you're just a lazy jerk just SAY THAT! He's playing with people's livelihoods especially if they're expecting their usual monthly utility invoices, SSN checks or business supplies, etc, in the mail! It's almost 2pm now when get to the Waipahu station all irritated about this carrier's incompetence to pick up the last package. I'm next in line waiting. There was a female clerk & a male clerk. The female clerk with a tattoo design on her left arm (Gretchen) was assisting a female customer that had a language barrier. Gretchen was so unprofessionally loud & condescending while asking the customer about the prescription inhaler she was mailing. Gretchen asked her if the inhalers were aerosol which the customer didn't quite understand. So Gretchen demonstrates, "If you have to pump the inhaler into your mouth like this, then it's an aerosol..which can't be mailed!" Wow..guess somebody had Grumpy Grinches for breakfast! Finally, the patient, helpful male clerk assisting me was so nice. I explained the shenanigans with our carrier & he brought out the package. He said the package was actually scanned in around noon on the 30th so he was confused too as to why it wasn't delivered but returned for pick up instead. UNBELIEVABLE & UNACCEPTABLE USPS behavior! These types of postal employees need to be retrained, reassessed or better yet REMOVED from their positions indefinitely! read more

Monday morning, less than 2 weeks before Christmas and I had to drop off a package at the post office. Small parking lot, a line about a dozen people long wrapped around the side of the building, and only 3 workers at the windows. It was a painless errand, in and out in less than 15 minutes despite the scenario just described. Workers are friendly and efficient. I do recommend coming here during a way less busy time if possible, but know that if you have no other choice, the workers here are nice and will get your mail taken care of quickly. read more

Convenient location for dropping off flat rate boxes. Near the freeway exit and entrance and fair amount of parking. I previously would have given two stars because the employees there have no personality and seem to not enjoy working there. I get it, you have a lot of foot traffic and the line for service is generally super looooong and slow moving. I go there only to drop off pre labeled flat rate boxes because I feel bad scheduling pick up for our super nice neighborhood mail carrier and she's already overworked making deliveries. Her truck is always stacked high with mail order (Amazon) packages. Btw, she sometimes comes into our neighborhood twice...early in the morning to deliver packages and later to deliver mail! HINT to anyone dropping off packages at the post office: use flat rate boxes and prepay your labels on USPS.com so you don't have to stand in line. You can then use the drop off area or box and leave your flat rate packages there! Today I upped the Yelp rating by one star because the person working there actually took the few seconds to scan my package when dropping off! Waipahu generally does not scan in all packages and I cannot track my packages at all till it reaches it's destination! Hopefully this USPS location are upping their game & trying to improve customer service. Would hate to think this was a fluke! read more

I will start that the root of my issue is that I had an incorrect address for my delivery. So that's on me. But, it's a Saturday and I tried all day up until the time they closed to reach someone to see about rerouting my package. Each time I called I let it ring until it maxed out, and turned into a busy signal. I never got anyone to pick up the phone from the time they opened at 9am to the time they closed at 1pm. read more

Worst customer service and get your phone number fixed and actually pick up the phone. 2nd time a package has been put in someone else's box in my community. First time, they helped get it back, this time I put a claim online, received the supervisor for Waipahu saying they were looking into and then crickets. No more emails no calls so I checked on the claim number and they closed the claim as resolved excepted ABSOLUTELY NOTHING was resolved. Now I tried calling again this week and all of a sudden their phone is not in service. I work during the week and they close so early so I can never make it from Aeia to Waipahu to talk to somebody in person. So disappointing! read more

I love Waipahu Post Office they are a big part of the Waipahu community. I have had a PO Box there for many years. I know that my mail is secure and I can access my mail during specific after hours. The cost is minimal and the clerks there are so sweet and always ready to help. I live in a community with an association and they only allow certain mail boxes on your property. Which are unsecured and an open invitation for thieves to steal your mail. So if you live in the 94 block or 76 South area and your looking for a place to receive your mail in a secure environment and avoid identity thief....Waipahu Post Office is the place for you. I had to mail something a few weeks ago, so i decided to go to the waipahu post office. I reached there a half hour early. Instead of waiting in my car, i decided to check my parents mailbox inside of the facility. As i walked in, the facility was really clean. No one was in there due to the post office not being open yet (but the doors were open). As i finished checking the mail, there was about 10 minutes until they actually opened. I decided to stand in line already with my items. They opened on time.. as i walked up to the cashier, i asked if she could assist me in getting my items deliver the cheapest way possible, due to only having a few items to mail. She directed me to the flat rate envelope (i think that's what you call it). She told me to get the things together and when I'm done to come back to her and not stand in line. I did just that. I wish i got her name, but she was super nice (she's the cashier in the middle on saturdays). I was out of there in a breeze thanks to the cashier helping me out. read more

Went there on a Saturday morning around 1000am. Line was about 12 people deep. I was at the counter within 10 minutes. CSR was very nice and helpful. Not sure if this a typical experience during the holiday rush, but they seemed very efficient and courteous at the same time. Horrible!!! I've had packages of mine delivered to my neighbors, I've had boxes arrive completely OPENED, and numerous times I've had packages listed as delivered but nothing was in the mail! I have a lock box too, so I know it isn't a matter of someone stealing my mail from my porch, as that would be impossible. & if you try to call the post office, it is impossible to get through to somebody so don't even bother. Came here on Monday to solve the mystery of my missing package. The online tracking system stated that the package was delivered to my complex's parcel box on Saturday, but I didn't receive a key. Told the clerk this and she was nice and seemed concerned. She had me write down my information and told me that her supervisor would call me after a carrier returned to my complex to track down my box. Tuesday: The supervisor still didn't call me, so my husband went down to speak to them. The clerk he spoke to asked him to do the same thing: write down his information and they'll "call" him back. Well, my husband was a little more firm with them and magically got the supervisor to take swifter action. Five minutes after leaving the post office, he received a call from a blocked number stating that my package has been located and that the parcel box key will be in our mailbox by the time he gets home. (Great!) Here's the kicker: apparently my package was actually delivered to my complex on Saturday, BUT the carrier left the parcel box key in the SAME space as the box. They FAILED to place that key in our mailbox so that we could retrieve it! ‍ If we weren't persistent about this mystery, who knows how long it would've taken USPS to figure that out! All in all, I'm glad my package was sitting in the parcel box for four days and was not lost or stolen. I was worried that the key was placed in the wrong mailbox and someone else had my package. SUGGESTION: USPS should install barcodes in the Parcel Boxes AND the individual mailboxes to scan and keep track of where the packages and the Parcel box keys end up..seems like that would be a simpler solution to avoid situations like this. read more

I visited the Post Office in Waipahu because I was banking a block away. It's s full service USPS well staffed with wonderful hard working clerks who acknowledge everyone and move the line very quickly. I took the opportunity to quietly mention to my clerk that the grass outside the parking lot had outgrown the United States Of America Post Office Marquee. I offered to help clear it; she immediately call her manager to talk to me. He took me to the side and promised me that he had the situation under control. Next week when I went by again -- to my delight --the Waipahu Post Office was amazingly looking like a brand new building. I am so grateful to know people takes pride of their job! Definitely not my favorite! Soooo crowded. The only reason I went here is cause I had to pick up a certified letter. so then I figure, I'll mail my packages too. Well, that was a bad idea. I had to circle twice to find a parking space! And then I got honked at while I was waiting for the little old ladies to back out of their space so I could take it. People are not nice. When I went inside, there was a long line and I noticed the little 'do-it-yourself" corner and thought, if only I didn't have to pick up that letter! I totally would have utilized that! It was very busy here but I have to say that the people working were really friendly and even though I could tell they were super busy they never came across as impatient or tired of what they were doing. Sooooo nice and pleasant. If wasn't for the fact there was a hard time finding a parking space, I would have given a higher rating. For the amount of traffic this place gets, having some more spaces or parking nearby would have been so great! And it was around 2pm on a monday and then... My complaint is with the mail carrier service in our neighborhood! They've been delivering mail consistently late like after 3pm and this is going on for a long time now. Before we used to have morning service. It was really good! The mail consistently arrived between 10am and 11am. Ever since the switch in service. It's been really bad. The post office does NOT answer the phone. Had to drive from town just to see if they still had a package of mine sent to wrong address. If they would have answered the phone, which I called since opening they could've held it there. They seemed a little lost like they didn't know how to figure out the tracking. Once again, twice this year the USPS has lost very valuable information, in March, my Taxes, sent priority and certified. Still haven't been found. Then this month they lost my fingerprints for relicensure in California sent priority, certified and return receipt requested. Got the return receipt, NO SIGNATURE! Called California licensing and they say they don't have the package. Both issues occurred in California... I'm so disappointed, Time to fire the babooze in charge of the USPS DeJoy... Then when you call the 1-800#, it's useless, completely useless. This country's mail service is in the toilet. Time to fire a once wonderful institution and go private. Disappointed. My complaint is towards my Mail carrier. There will be days that go by that our mailbox at the home address has zero mail. I'm starting to feel like we are purposely not receiving our mail. For example I will get mail that's dated and won't receive it till almost 2 weeks after!. My longtime mail lady (Miriam) retired. She was the best! Now, her replacement SUCKS butt! She is ALWAYS late and our mail alot of the times are delivered to our neighbors or our pkgs/boxes left in the middle of our driveway or even stuffed into a residential mailbox!!
