This is a terrible post office. It's so inefficient and I think they could really alleviate these long lines and packed parking lot by really putting up some signs and having a large box flat rate drop box. I stood in line thinking I had to wait even when I had a prepaid large box to drop off when I realized you could just go in and drop it off at the counter without waiting in line on the left hand side when you enter through the doors. There should be a sign out front so people don't have to wait this ridiculous long line. Better yet, if they had a drop box like the one at the airport, people don't even have to wait until the post office opens. This is one hectic post office especially during the holidays and I don't recommend coming here. Airport post office is super convenient and they should really copy their model. read more

My experience at this Pearl City post office was a terrible one. I had postal clerk Mike and I found him to be rude, argumentative and unprofessional. I asked him for help in mailing my son's birthday card as I had a concern about whether or not my card had sufficient postage. I had used the kiosk for the first time at the Mililani Post office, but did not have a chance to mail it, thus my visit to the Pearl City post office where I unfortunately crossed paths with rude postal clerk Mike. Mike also scolded me for not affixing the label correctly on my card and he talked down to me in a condescending manner, just like I observed he did to the previous postal customer. So, do yourself a favor and don't go to the Pearl City post office, not unless you want a headache and a lot of unnecessary stress! read more

Because of Amazon I was forced to visit the post office to sign and pick up my boxes. I've visited the office on a couple of occasions and each time was a decent experience. What I like about the PC post office is the amount of parking. I've gone at random times and there is always a lot of parking available. Service has also been okay. The staff are nice and get the job done but on the occasions I went, there were only two windows open. With only two windows, things can take a while if there's a lot of people. This is the only drawback I feel like with this location. One thing I wish was that they had a smart postage machine like the Kahala one. You can weigh your box and print/pay for your label from the machine. It saves the hassle of printing a label at home (if you don't have a printer). read more

not sure if this is the same driver as another review. she also refused to give her name. she was on the wrong side of the road parked i assume making a delivery. this is not the normal mail person but appears to only do parcels. Anyway park and as my mother in law passed driver decided to pull out without looking and almost hit my mothet she them proceeded to honk and appeared to "yell". ironically that was 5 houses away, guess who had a package coming? us, so she stopped, yelled irritatingly "USPS" while my mom was 6-7 feet away and dropped the package as mom reached to recieve it, through my mom's hand onto a table. dark skin, wears a visor and sunglasses, hair in a bun. she also speeds quite a bit. Came here hoping to talk with a postal worker who would explain all of my options for mailing a large envelope. I got Irene, who was standoffish and unhelpful. I asked her what are my options for mailing a large envelope with tracking and could get to the destination by early next week. She only said Priority Mail Express which was the most expensive at almost $30. She suggested no other options. I actually had to ask her what about Priority Mail Flat Rate, which was much less expensive at $10 and turns out would still be delivered by the date I needed. Going to the post office is sometimes difficult due to the hours of operation. I usually have to leave work a little early to get there before it closes. However I went to the Pearl City Post Office, and today's visit was very nice. For one first thing going first thing in the morning when they open works out well. Today it was not crowded and the wait time was less than 5 minutes. Now days we can do our transactions online or by self serve kiosks but sometimes it's nice to do in-person transactions. My postal associate was friendly and courteous. Whenever I do in person transactions I always enjoy looking at the variety of stamps and of course I buy those forever stamps. read more

I came here to mail a late bill. I pulled up and found a parking spot. This location seems to be more busier on the weekends than during the week days. I just walked up and dropped it off in the letter slot. There was a line out the door for the post office. Pretty crazy. I typically don't come here but I needed my bill to go out right away. The traffic coming in and out of here is horrible because it's located at the corner of the stop light. I try to avoid coming here but it serves it's purpose. I don't come here often. The employees can be grouchy and cut or sweet and nice, but this post office is convenient and accessible to stop on the way to shop at the pearl highland or Kuala street stores. However. During the holidays, the line can be very long, and out the door. They sometimes open their front side door to take customers that are only picking up. Usually only 3 people are working at a time, and inside is small. No kiosk for flat rate or to weigh mail so have to stand in line for any type of service. At that time, I handed 34 international coupons issued by the post office to this employee to use, but I didn't even check it and kept it under the cash register. Caution, Beware! If you use this post office to send out greeting cards with money in them. Someone working here is opening them and stealing the money. I know someone that sent out cards to several different addresses in different cities and states. All of the envelopes turned up opened on the side with contents missing. I stood in line at this post office to get these Forever stamps as I still have SOME correspondence that I rely upon hardcopy letters (old school or just old?) rather than managing through online transactions. I am not a philatelist but, I enjoy seeing the new designs and tributes to various themes. So, what does this have to do with this neighborhood post office? This post office has friendly and helpful staff. There's hardly ever a crowd whenever I go there during the week days. I would NEVER dare go during Saturday or Holiday Season so I can't speak for those peak times. The building itself seems a bit run down but, there is a dedicated parking lot and to me, it's conveniently located right across the street from the Pearl City 24-hour Fitness Club. I roamed in to mail a flat-rate box to my brother-in-law in California and found that on my birthDAY these Elvis stamps were available. The postal worker efficiently processed my package and then asked if I needed any stamps or more products. Yes, I said...how could I pass on getting these stamps?! The staff here are very courteous and helpful. I came to buy the new scratch and sniff "Frozen Treats" stamps--so cute and cheerful. I asked the clerk since they weren't on the display board. To avoid headaches, I recommend only driving here from Kam Hwy, not Kuala St. This post office was here before all the stores opened up in the neighborhood, so it wasn't designed to be inconvenient. There was no Kuala St. 20 years ago. I use Click-N-Ship so I never have to wait in line to mail packages. It even works for overseas packages. It's great! read more

When your postal carrier is marking a item delivered to unit but it can fit in the mailbox or lock box even, this raises flags. The item was NOT delivered to the unit and NO one stole it because i was home all day with my door open. And no it did not go to my neighbors unit because i know them all. I try to use this post office as I live in the area, but its been a crap shoot as some clerks are more helpful than others. I went in this morning to see if they could assist me in trying to find out what was happening to my box that was mailed out on Feb 3 with final destination being Japan. I was receiving daily tracking updates via text messaging. Last update was on Feb 7 @ 734pm which said: processed through LOS ANGELES CA INTERNATIONAL DISTRIBUTION CENTER, then nothing. The guy who helped me said there are delays due to covid and Japan is one of the most restrictive countries where they are not letting people in, so there are no flights and thats how the mail gets there. He said my package is probably waiting for a flight that goes to Japan. We'll, I've sent a box to Japan just about every month, and this is the first time it has disappeared. There are no 'USPS alerts' for Japan & my other boxes may have taken a day or 2 longer to get there, but actually made it into Japan. But really...for the price I pay plus insurance!!! He didnt even look at my original paperwork that I took in for reference & would not help. Not even an offer of passing the buck to another USPS department...zippo, zilch, NOTHING!!! Unfortunately for me, bad customer service will not help me find my box & get it to its destination b4 the chocolates melt I was NOT happy to say the least, then decided to get on phone with USPS. After the rounds of automated messages and a short wait, I was greeted by a cordial attendant who was WAY MORE efficient & helpful than the earlier counter clerk. She confirmed my information and then said she will file an international inquiry to find the status of my package ....thank-you Jesus for this competent USPS worker!! Glad to know there are still some people who take pride and do their job properly She thanked me for using the US postal service and said she hopes that I will hear back from them soon. Keeping my fingers crossed with good news and a delivery confirmation!! With my business I go to a lot of different post offices to drop off my orders. Pearl City is the one closest to my house but they don't have a drop box for pre-paid packages on the outside - it is inside the locked doors during non business hours. The only upside to this is that during business hours if it's busy (like it normally is whenever I go there) they have a click n ship drop off at the front so you won't have to wait in line. If you are looking for one of those kiosks they don't have that either so if you need postage come ready to stand in line. The whole reason why I'm writing this review is because of something I saw this morning (around 10am). The worker - name tag said Frank (bald guy with glasses) was super rude to a customer who was being polite. The poor man was trying to mail 5-6 large flat rate boxes. Frank asked him if they had liquids and stuff like that and the customer said no...Frank gave him attitude back and told him he needed to click yes or no. So the man replied ok no to everything as he's clicking (while he did this Frank was rolling his eyes and shaking his head in irritation). After this Frank asked the man if he needed extra insurance and the man calmly and politely asked what extra insurance was for. Frank got all irritated now and was really brash in explaining what the insurance was for. This was very disturbing to see and out of no where the young guy that works there appeared but didn't say anything to Frank. I sure hope they talk to him because customers shouldn't be treated this way. I don't know the job of the young guy other than he asks if you have questions while you are in line and he carries a clipboard. I'm all for supporting the Post Office because I have family who works for the Post Office but treatment like this is why some of these agents will be/should be replaced by machines. read more

This location is a really tough location. Especially with rail and road construction. Like don't make a left out of here. But there is smoke parking. You can run into long lines but I feel like they move quickly with all the steps the postal workers have to take. This review is for the female Polynesian postal worker from Pearl City who came out to "assist" customers in line. What caught my attention was her loud, somewhat condescending manner as she spoke to an elder man who was trying to get some information. This conversation went on for a good 6-8 minutes as he tried to explain his situation and was obviously confused. This worker kept talking over him appearing to only want to be right verses trying to listen and help this man. About 3-4 minutes in, everyone in line is aware of this mans issue as he is aware that we're all watching this unfold. After being humiliated, this poor man leaves without any resolution. My heart hurt for him. Why would you speak to someone like that? Employees like this give the USPS a bad name. Where's the customer service and respect for our Kupuna? I've never had a bad experience at Pearl City and although this experience did not effect me personally, it was very disheartening to watch. Shame on you! read more

This post office and I clash. It just wasn't meant to be. I get in line and this lady cuts right in front of me. See, it's a sign that I shouldn't come here. I did visit when they just opened so people were waiting. This postal employee lady comes out of counter to assist package pickup people. She helps few people and then she jumps to counter to help regular line. They don't make it clear. So the package pick up people goes from one side of the counter and then gets moved to other side of counter. What in the world. This post office doesn't have drive thru mailbox like Aiea post office. It also doesn't have parcel drop off like Waipahu post office. There's nothing fun or neat about this post office. read more

These stars are for the older man who helped me look for my box that my mom sent that was delivered but my mom forgot to put my appointment #. So I seen that it was gonna be returned to sender 9/1/2020 and by the time I was able to call post office they were closed. I live in back of the post office so I decided to wait for a truck headed back and not even 5 minutes the older gentleman stepped out to open the gate so I asked if he can help me find it , he took my information down and told me he'll try and find it. Next day 9/2/2020 I decided to see if the post office had it there still had it and they told me the carrier had it to try to resend it, my carrier came he said he was the one that return to sender same day so it probably already got went back .. I tried back at PC post office again they said it's gone they couldn't find it . I tried 1 more of place which was airport location and they said they couldn't look or do nothing . I lost hope so I called my mom and told her expect the package back in 3-5 weeks . I really didn't want my mom to pay 71$ again but she said it was okay and her fault . It's 9/5/2020 and at 10a I heard a knock on my door and someone say Usps so I was like what the heck so I open it and a younger guy has my box !!!! He clearly said, sorry we are closed. There were a few customers left finishing up. Here, as I felt devastated, I just wanted to mail my broken hydro flask. I asked him nicely if he could just let me in and mail the item. He looked at me with my three kids in tow, and nicely he opened the door and let me mail my item. One of my goals for the new year is to clear up a lot of stuff I have sitting around the house that I lost sentimental value in. Basically, whatever I can't sell locally, I turn to eBay or other online outlets. For the past couple of months, I've been frequenting the Pearl City post office since it's the closest to my workplace. While I've never had an issue at Aiea, my designated post office, where I go to pick up undelivered parcels and send out stuff on the weekend, I find the staff at Pearl City to be much more helpful. Frank is amazing. The man deserves an award for his excellent customer service. He's helped me numerous times and is always courteous. I recently ran into an issue with a light yet oversized box in which USPS would have charged me nearly $50 to send via priority. Frank took the time to measure it and tell me how much I'd have to trim it down to so that it would go out at a more reasonable price. I've never felt rushed by him even though I do feel bad that sometimes there are about three to five people behind me. He's not the only employee there who breaks the stereotype of a disgruntled postal worker as I've had absolutely no issues with anyone who's assisted me at a window. In fact, I was waiting in a line that was about five people deep and one of the employees apologized and thanked us for our patience since the two people being serviced were taking over ten minutes to complete their transactions. read more

It's right across 24 fitness & Sams club! Since I own a craft shop I come here every week! I also own a PO box here with them too! I love this USPS! The staff are nice and always helpful. They usually have at least 2 people working in the front. They have lots of parking space so I never have to wait around. If you need cards, they sell cute hallmark cards there too! My mother mailed five Halloween cards out to her grandchildren with cash in each. She went into this post office to mail a box along with the cards. The cards were delivered to CA and IL and each were sliced on the side with the money taken! There was no cancellation on the postage stamps either! I approached the desk and the postal worker (I wish I knew his name, maybe Clark? - his Clerk #14 on receipt) he was very efficient and knowledgeable. This review is for my mail carriers 96782..... The Saturday pearl city mailMAN... zero stars!!!!!! He is sooo lazy, and never attempts to deliver certified mail or packages to the door. On two occasions in the last two months, he has shoved pink slips in my mailbox without even attempting to blow his horn or get his butt out of the vehicle... I know this because i was at home watching him deliver the mail (because my dogs were in the house barking at him) for the first instance and i decided not to make an official complaint because it w the first time it happened to me...and the second instance my family was at home...and yet we still got pink slips... This is extremely frustrating because it means i have to pick it up during the day, during my work hours, on a lunch break or i need to take time off from work! I will make an official complaint this week... If there have been problems like this with anyone else, i suggest we report this because its sad that i have to lose out on time from my job (income) because someone else isnt doing theirs... I ordered something on amazon and was notified that my package was delivered into a parcel locker. Checked my mailbox, nothing. Asked the carrier to open all of the lockers to see if my package was in the wrong place, nothing. Thankfully i was able to get a refund. Then again, waiting for another package to arrive, i get a notification that it was delivered. I check the mailbox right after and someone elses package is in there. Now im assuming they put my last package in the wrong locker and whoever found it in their mailbox just opened it and kept it. I called the post office and now i just have to hope they get here in time to check the mailboxes for my package before someone else finds it and keeps it. Second time in 2 weeks. This post office delivers my mail. I had a couple of instances where I was missing mail and a package. I called them and the post masters were able to locate my mail and packages and even had the courier come back and deliver my package later in the day. Excellent service!!! read more

Getting into the parking lot sucks if coming from moanalua road and making the left turn and kamehameha hwy can get backed up right now cause of rail. However the service once inside is fast and efficient. What usually takes long are the customers not knowing how to mail stuff out. The easiest is using the flat rate box.
