We…read moretried to schedule an appointment online at alohaq.honolulu.gov for the Kapalama location, but it was booked through the middle of September. I checked this morning for the Kapolei location and their was a spot that opened up for noon today. It was perfect. He lucked out. We got here around 11:45am and there were people waiting outside on standby. The woman sitting to the right when you walk in checked all the paperwork: social security card, birth certificate and two proofs of principal residence. Then, she had him fill out a permit application and told him to wait for his number to be called. We waited about 15 minutes and they called his number. They gave him an eye test, processed his paperwork and charged us $5 for the card. Then, he had to wait to get his picture taken. We waited another 10 minutes standing in the picture line. He sat in the chair and took his picture. They told him to check his info on the screen to make sure it was correct. Then, they took his fingerprints on the screen. They printed out a temporary paper copy and told him the plastic card will be coming in the mail. We were in and out in half an hour. The workers were on it. They have a small parking area on the side of the building.

There are other offices in there as well as where those who have applied for and been approved to test for Hawai'i Notary Public by the Attorney General. The building is named after Princess Ruth Ke'elikōlani Keanolani Kanāhoahoa of the founding dynasty of the Kingdom of Hawaii and the former Royal Governor of the Island of Hawaii. She was quite an interesting lady and I'd encourage you to do a study if you're not familiar with her! Upon immediate entry there is security that requires patrons to present photo identification. Everyone has been friendly and happy to direct you to where you are looking to go. The atrium in the center is nice and the building is quite clean. Bathrooms are easy to access and there are strategically placed hand sanitizer stands throughout the building if that's your thing. There is street parking directly in front of the building, and a parking garage directly across the street for convenience, too! Little note, the parking garage only accepts cash. There is an ATM on the bottom floor of the building. There is also a little grab and go snack shop on the bottom floor. It looked well to stocked and I should have taken a few photos; my bad! Lots of people, everyone nice and friendly and even with all the traffic it didn't feel crowded at all.

The school administration keeps parents up to date on security concerns, academic state milestones, misses attendances, I mean everything. You're contacted either phone or email. They also utilize communications with parent using teacher's conferences every couple of months. Every quarter there's an award ceremony and in between, the school holds plays and band concerts for students, parents, and guest. After school hours, there is a boys girls club on campus and a couple of after school athletics clubs. Plenty of parking and overflow parking near Campbell high school for after school activities. Remember heavy traffic flow during morning school drop off with the High school next door. Overall five stars. Teachers want their students to succeed just as much as the parents. Don't forget to thank a school educator, encourage your kids everyday, and drive with aloha. M

Went to the bank to cash it since they wrote a check. Couldn't even cash it because they dated the check 6/2021 and on the check it's written VOID AFTER 6 MONTHS. Um hello banks won't cash a check that far back! it's a good thing I'm still here. Anyone picking up your refund check for Year book check the date on your check or you'll be making another trip back there for a cashable check.

BUT their hours are terrible. I finished the 1k books with my daughter, but we just can't get to the library to turn it in. They are always closed by the time I get back to the West-side. Just from its construction billboards announcing this structure, we were excited to see what agencies the JTMC would house or collaborate with. Well, when this center opened in January 2020, and we went to check it out as we noticed its new tenants moving in. This center's six tenants are City and State Agencies as follows. City & County of Honolulu Department of Transportation Services (DTS) Honolulu Police Department (HPD) Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) Emergency Services Department (ESD) Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (HART) State of Hawaii Hawai'i Department of Transportation (HDOT) The JTMC brings together both state and city agencies to focus on improving traffic management and public safety coordination on O'ahu. Led by the City's Department of Transportation Services (DTS) and Hawai'i State Department of Transportation (HDOT), this center's combination of people and automated systems can proactively manage traffic and change the traffic flow in response to or in anticipation of traffic incidents, coordinate traffic information among responders and to the public. Although we didn't roam about the interior of the building for security reasons, we admired the architectural design of this building. We could see themes of Hawaiian tradition and Pacific voyaging and navigation themes. The overall building honors the revival and perpetuation of Hawaiian and Polynesian voyaging. The JTMC's logo is Hōkū Pa'a which translates to "North Star" can be seen on the statue fronting its South Street entrance. The Hōkū Pa'a is in the shape of a shield with 3 distinct design elements: the 7-pointed star, the Pueo (Hawaiian short-eared owl) and, trails or roadways. I'm glad to see these six City and State Agencies put under one roof as it means that O'ahu's public daily commutes will be supported with safety and efficiency.
