Our mailbox has been broken for 8 weeks. I've been coming here for 8 weeks and still hoping the mailbox is fixed soon! They are always busy at this location with people picking up mail- because so many mailboxes in Vallejo (especially community boxes) are broken. The male staff here are always so friendly and nice. The female staff member is constantly rude to me and others. One time she went to the back and told me I had no mail. I asked her (to clarify) what address she was looking for. She didn't remember. I asked her to write down the address and she came back with mail. Another time I got her, and she claimed I didn't have a package. I pulled it up on the email, she scanned it, rolled her eyes and walked to the back. Today, I was standing at the counter, someone else was helping me. She told me to go wait at the blue door. I questioned her and she said wait over there. When the guy helping me came back I made sure to tell him that she told me to go over there and I didn't agree with that. He confirmed, if I am helping you wait at my counter. While he was getting my mail, I was watching her interactions with guest. She is rude to everyone! I was going to write a review on just my experience, I know they are busy and constantly dealing with people... but seeing that she is that way with everyone made me "need" to write this review. She was telling others that they had no mail... same thing that happened to me a few weeks ago. For a business, efficiency is key and I do not see her being efficient or friendly. 5 stars because I know one person doesn't define the whole business... but I took off the one star because I will wait longer for another staff member to help me from now on. read more

Haven't been to a USPS in years. Had to send an important government doc and needed my options explained. The tall Filipino guy really helped us out. Easy to access from freeway. Lots of parking - moderate lines near closing time. Good post office. Lots of parking and lots of stairs. I'm really not sure if I saw a wheelchair ramp - its possible there was one - but the route I took had many many stairs. I noticed lots of po boxes and pick up boxes. Very nice system that people were using. I noticed metal detectors as I walked in. I go use a post office in Fruitvale Oakland all the time - I have to look again if they have those too. If they do I somehow don't notice them. These I suppose are more noticeable as they are in the middle of the room rather than at the front door. People in front of me were sending money by using cash. Big, big bills and lots of them. I suppose that is where problems come into play? I don't know much about this city - I heard it has a bad reputation - from I personally saw looked great with exception of the metal detectors. The customer service at this Post Office was superb! It was cheerful and both the staff member and I had a blast. And the only thing I needed to do was change my address! I ended up buying a book of stamps thanks to the thoughtful reminder. This isn't the first time I've been here. I had to mail packages a few times. This branch stands out for their high morale. I like my mail man, once in a blue moon we would see a different mail man but the guy that comes around my neighborhood is on point and comes at the same time everytime. This post office at times has a line, which can move slow, they tellers just rings you up without much of an emotion. When I think back to some of my poorest service experiences, I think of the DMV and the Post Office. Not this location. The employees here are always friendly and helpful. They offer suggestions on the best way to ship, at the lowest cost option, that best fits your needs. Now long lines are beyond their control, but they move swiftly with many shouts to line like "be with you shortly" and "thanks for your patience". I have be coming to this post office for years & I haven't ever had a problem with the workers until today. Simon was very rude & pushy. I needed to send off envelopes and he refused to send them one by one & insisted I get stamps. I told him no I don't want stamps so he said he can't help me. He instead told me to go to another worker. Inder was very patient and did the job great for me with no problem or incident. Not impressed with my Po box. I opened it couple month ago and already a check send to me is missing and another was send back. I got several envelopes with someone's medical records which stated a different mailbox. I never had any of those problems at the post office in Daly City, so I'm assuming the blame is with this specific location. Of course I will be closing my box. Back in High School, most of the Sophomore girls I knew picked typing class as one of their two electives for the year. It wasn't so much because it was the first year we could take it, or that it was fun. We took it because the football coach taught it and he was about 32 and the most gorgeous specimen we'd ever laid eyes on. Looking back now, he was quite a flirt too. This class should have been an easy A, right? Nah, not for me. The keys had no letters and once teachie-poo took down the "QWERTY" cheat sheet banner, I totally lost interest. It wasn't so much the key memorization that bothered me. It was having to continuously start over when you screwed up so bad even the freshest bottle of white out couldn't fix the mess. Almost every day, the head cheerleader would be at his desk talking his beautiful ear off, while she overly giggled at everything that came out of his mouth. Imagine my surprise when my report card grade was less than stellar. Turns out he was paying attention to the class the whole time and was well aware of how my best friend and I sat in the back with our smuggled-in walkmans discussing how great our lives will be when we marry Billy Idol and Prince. Go figure! Thanks to the Internet, I've redeemed myself and can actually type at a pretty fast pace without looking!! Is this good or bad? Perhaps just a sign-o-the times. Another sign of the times we can thank the Internet for is the total lack of excitement in the good ole snail mail box. Day after day after day, I look and all I find is crap! Bills, bills and more bills. A tie for second is credit card offers and promises of better mortgage rates. Follow it up with smog check coupons and an endless supply of junk mail. Am I getting old (rhetorical) or what? I'm like my granny now who won't give up her rotary phone. Long live snail mail! ------------------- I love this post office. They are friendly and didn't throw a fit when my son was about five and pulled the fire alarm. And now, they have a self service machine that allows you to weigh and process your own packages with no wait!! Today, for less than $5 bucks, I mailed some Valentine care packages to both of my grandmas. Neither one of them have ever used a computer. This is an absolutely horribly ridiculous waste of our tax dollars. The lines are always long and the staff doesn't seem to care (typical govt. employees). Nobody is there to help you and everyone has nasty attitudes. If you have a package to pick up I suggest you clear your schedule because you'll be waiting here forever. I have a problem with my current mailman. He tends to bypass my house claiming the mailbox is blocked with a car whether it belongs to us or not. But he doesn't do that to either side of my neighbors. Lately he wrote on our held mail that the mailbox was blocked, well of coarse it was blocked at 10:30 p.m. who the f*** gets their mail delivered at that time of night?? We have 3 cars, so yes my truck is park along side the mailbox BUT it is approachable. I waited in line to pick up my package and it was about an hour. 15 min later the lady nonchalantly said she can't find it. Not even apologizing. Where do I start? WHERE?! I am so confused at where I should start when writing this negative review, because there are so many negative experiences that I have had at this USPS location and they are all jumping out at me like snakes in the grass. Let me start with my current and worst experience. I recently sold a few items on an online website and for a price around $400 at that. I used the USPS online shipping to purchase some labels and hopefully expedite my wait time at the post office; to skip the long molasses slow lines that the other reviewers are 100% correct about. 3 of my items I purchased insurance on, and one item I chose to take what I thought was a small risk. Boy-oh-boy was I WRONG to put trust in our USPS federal employees! Well, I went to this location to ship my items and saw that the line was as usual: 20 people in a row with slow service. So, I skipped the lines and dropped my packages off in the "Self-Help" dropbox next to the self-help kiosk. MAJOR MISTAKE! Now I have no record of receipt and not even a face to look at or a camera to catch that the items I dropped were received. This being the Christmas season, that left a good opportunity for a thieving USPS employee to see that one of my packages had no insurance and there being no proof of receipt yet. You can already guess what transpired. My first 3 packages with insurance were scanned properly and arrived on time. My last package with the $200 item in it? Gone. I was so foolish to think that these federal employees could be trusted. Well, that package is gone and now all I can do is hope that the $50 basic Priority Mail insurance will cover a fraction of the theft, but I don't even know if that will happen since there is no proof of receipt, not even a camera to see if the item was dropped. All-in-all everyone loses this Christmas because the item I sold was supposed to be a gift for some guy's kid. Because of a greedy USPS employee, that's not going to happen now, and this is the last time that I will trust this service again. Especially this location which is full of meandering employees who don't care about the service they deliver. So, I issue this WARNING: don't buy USPS online shipping services unless you have a way to verify receipt! These federal employees have no scruples and will take your package if they have the opportunity. read more

Avoid this post office at all cost! Three of the four window clerks who work at this post office are extremely rude, unhelpful and make shipping a chore. (The young guy is the nice one. I guess he hasn't gone postal yet.) For example, I wanted to ship a package internationally, but made the mistake of using a label that was originally inteded for priority mail. I had cut off the top of the label so it no longer said priority mail. All that was visible was the white shippiing label. The window clerk notified me (with a snotty attitude) that she was "refusing" to ship the packcage because even though the label no longer had the blue priority strip, she could tell that it was originally a priority label and couldn't accept it. C'mon.....refusing......really? (BTW, I took the same package to the post office downtown on Santa Clara and the clerk was friendly and actually helped me re-label the package so that I could send it out according to post office rules. ) Also, I used to have a P.O. Box at this post office. They are supposed to give you two keys when you open the box, but they only had one key, so they only gave me one key. Of course, I lost my one key. I know, it was my fault that I lost the key, but I expected them to replace it in a timely manner. I waited 5 months for them to replace the key. Let me repeat that. I waited 5 MONTHS!!!. They never replaced the key. There was always some excuse about how the box clerk wasn't available or how they were waiting for a new key. Eventually, I just closed my box because I would have to wait in their long lines everytime I wanted to get my mail. I suggest going to the post office on Santa Clara downtown by the waterfront. They no longer have the long lines that they used to and have been successful at improving their customer service. read more

Maybe they're working slow to be efficient, but it's possible to be quick and efficient at the same time. Lines get backed up because they just take their damn time to do the simplest of tasks. Be sure to avoid the employee that uses his pen to make selections on his touch screen. You'll be there long enough to have a steak dinner. Maybe even dessert. read more

If I could give ZERO stars, I would. I had the most unpleasant customer service experience with them this morning. I was supposed to receive a package Saturday morning, that became postponed til this past Monday, which was fine. It is now Wednesday, and have not received it. My tracker for the package said that it had been received by the facility Saturday morning, and stays on that notification. I called the facility to ask if the package was there, so I could pick it up, and the rude person that answered the phone said that it never reached the facility and that Amazon lied, even though I was looking at the tracker for the USPS website. He basically said that its my problem and to talk to Amazon about it. Not only had the package never come to my house, but my neighborhood has also not been receiving their mail. I am so tired of our mail being delivered after 5:00 pm. Last night the mail was delivered at 6:50 pm. The banks are closed and any work needed to be conducted can't be until the next day.
