Convient location for me, but unlike a normal business, Hours of Operatuin appear to be flexible without prior notice. I showed up at 10am because that is what is listed online. Seems pretty late for the rest of America, but that is their time listed. I show up and the door is locked with lettering saying they open at 10:30? Wth. So I wait and came back later. It says both online and at the door that they reopen at 2pm. So when I arrive the lady yells behind a screen that we open at 2:30pm. Wth? Then as I get service... I received a notice that I missed a package that requires a signature. That's why I'm here. The note said it's available for pickup at this Am Cyn location. They tell me it's in Vallejo. Wth? What happened to second attempts for delivery? I went online to schedule a ReDelivery. Website says that my package is both available for this service, and not available for the service. Ultimayely, It wouldn't let me Reschedule. So I head back to USPS Am Cyn, and... finally received my package. Now I'm glad it was there, but why wasnt it with a Carrier for ReDelivery? They only made one attempt.? All this Annex is good for is buying stamps having a PO box, or dropping off a pre-paid, labelled packages. Other than that, it's useless. I only live a block away, but I'm choosing to avoid this shack in the future if possible. read more

One clerk PO and many times severely backed up. Good service once your wait in line is over. It would be NICE if they would insure the online hours are updated as a lot of people have issues arriving in the afternoon but it's still closed for lunch. Id' like to say that the mail carrier drivers are the worst that I've ever had to deal with. They are lazy and bypass my stop all the time. All tho the older lady that works in the post office is very sweet and gets it done there by herself. The lines can be long sometimes but that's a given, being a small town. read more

It's a small PO here in Am Cyn, and the only one, but i would say the people who works here are efficient.

I don't go to the post office often but this is the only one I'm going to from now on. Only 1 person working and they open kinda late in the day, but the Filipina working was efficient, helpful, nice, and patient. She's the reason I'd continue doing business at this location. Even the customers seemed more chill than other post offices I've been to. My package arrived as estimated and was easy to track with the information on my receipt. read more

Oh how tiny! Blink and you can very well miss it. This little Post Office is tucked being the "Green Roof" plaza, I think it's called Canyon Plaza. Anyhow make a right on Crawford and the second right into a parking lot and there you are! Outdoor P.O. boxes and only room inside for two employees. Service is quick and efficient AND friendly :) It may seem a bit of a tornado in there but at the big locations there's no telling what's behind the walls ;) Now that I know there's a place to mail my packages right down the street I will be there! Hours are Monday - Friday 1030-145 and 230-4pm, Saturday 10-2. Closed on Sundays and Holidays. read more

I found out the actual American Canyon post office building was the official post office at the Los Angeles Olympics. So, for historical interestingness, and the fact that I have a scale at home and can weigh and pre-pay online and only use this post office to drop off packages OR occasionally buy stamps, I'm upgrading my yelp review by a couple of stars. If you DO need to wait in line for services, seriously, allow yourself extra time as there sometimes can be a line since only 1 person is usually working. read more

The place is small and the lines can get long, but their staff stay holding it down!!! There is usually one worker there so one tangible improvement could be to hire another worker and have two staff workers (at least during peak times) so waiting times can improve a bit. I can only imagine how stressful the job (and impatient customers, let's be honest) is for the staff, but they are always so kind and friendly when I've gone. ESTABLISHMENT/LOCATION/PARKING Actual establishment is small but I don't think that's a huge deal. It's located next to the city library, is in a safe area, and has plenty of free parking. Really appreciate having a post office in town. HOURS Their business hours is not extensive and they do close for lunch so make sure to check hours before going! TIP If you are shipping something and have the option to, you can also pre-pack and pre-label your items. Love having a post office in american canyon. It does have one worker at a time and less workable hours, but I can't complain because now I don't have to drive all the way to Vallejo. The workers are always friendly and they are always well stocked on shipping supplies. Also make sure to bring cash just in case their system is down read more

You know only one person works there most of the time and yet you keep coming back complaining how long you had to wait, then that's on your part of being that stupid plain and simple. For you locals that would rather drive to another post office think of the time you gotta drive out there and the time spent in that post office and the time driving back home prolly takes longer than to just come to this post office. I live in Canyon creek and our mailman or person is the laziest I've ever seen in my life I think they come out here just to sleep or visit with someone they suck and should be fired! And I'm in a good mood hoping my check comes today since they drove rite by yesterday because they would've had to take five extra steps to do there job!. Was there today I waited 1 hour and 25 minutes just to get to the counter. This is not the first time this happens and I know that whoever operates this location will not care about my review but at least I'm warning other customers. This places sucks! Super slow service. I will never ever ship anything through this post office ever again ! I will go to ups or fed ex before I come back here ! I shipped a small box of baby gifts to Kentucky and I had a tracking number that showed it was at that facility and it never left or showed up anywhere else ! All it showed was still in transit ! I complained on line several times and nothing ever happend ! I purchased insurance and then when I complained about a box never arriving usps wanted me to provide a receipt of all the things I purchased ! They wanted me to provide proof for there incompetence ! I Do not recommend this post office and I will never ever go back and I will tell all my family and friends to not go there either as that place is so shady !!!!! read more

Yes, the lines can be long sometimes. Of course that is due to usually only having one employee in the office. But my experience has always been whichever employee it is, they are extremely friendly and helpful. Never make you feel rushed. They go the extra mile. Special shout out to the shorter woman who is there most of the time (I think her name is Caroline). She should be an example to all postal employees on how to treat the customers! read more

This post office reminds me of a shack. It's the smallest post office I've seen....even on TV. Went on a saturday and the line was out the door. Though, I guess it would be out the door with only 3 people in line because it's so small. Anyway, one worker on Saturday so when you have people in front of you asking about all the different postage rates and delivery times and not being able to decide, it can take awhile. Small post office (modular building) right off HW 29. Only 1 clerk at counter could be a little wait if people are in line. Reduced hours so check schedule if you want counter help. I mailed out my letters no problems. Just drop in the blue box. Cool backstory is that this was the post office at the 1984 LA Olympic village. You remember the '84 Olympics, I refer to that as the Mary Lou Retton Olympics. Olympic history alone ranks it 4 stars for historical value. read more

The driver speeds down the street. when I track my package it says that it's delivered with 2 day shipping and it's not, then 2-3 more days pass. The lady at the counter either acts like she knows nothing or just doesn't know how to help with simple questions. But really I have had more problems then help, if the USPS ever wants to know why FedEx and UPS do so much better them them, look up the American Canyon Post Office. I literally had FedEX knock on my door at 8pm when the packaged isn't even expected to be delivered yet. read more

I would do a negative star if I could. I don't usually write reviews but this... this is just ridiculous. I have been trying to call the office about 5-6 times now and no one is answering. It'll only take a few seconds of their time to answer one damn question I have. If you're busy, I get it! But at least pick up and acknowledge your customer and say " please hold! ". It is ridiculously that I have called so many times now during your open hours and just get absolutely no response. This is by far the worst post office I have ever had to deal with! They NEVER answer their phones, they NEVER leave packages at the door (even small ones that fit inside the mailbox) and the line is ALWAYS huge and takes forever. If you want to pick up a package you have to plan to wait in line for at least a half hour! This last time I didn't even get a pink slip, I checked my tracking number and it said it has been delivered but was sent back to the post office, I was home all day waiting there was never a knock on the door, and it's not that I couldn't hear it because the dogs would have barked if there was! The worst service ever - the staff have no knowledge beyond rote memorization and Tab A into Slot B reasoning - any complaints are pushed to the main post office in Vallejo or to Napa, depending on whom you speak to - the people in charge seemingly issue made up incident numbers that when referenced at a later date are lost or not on file - Jean or Chris- I don't receive ANY of my mail other than junk mail or coupons - bank statements, retirement fund letters, DMV communications, and even immigration documents have gone missing!!! read more

A small and unassuming post office usually manned only by one person all of the times I've been there. Long lines can form because they are undermanned but they go quickly depending on the customers and their needs, but it's convenient being so close. read more

I hate going to this post office when the younger female is behind the counter. She is so rude and has no patience. In fact I was dropping off a package the other day and I heard her actually yelling at someone. When I see her working the counter I am tempted to just jump in my car and drive all the way to the Vallejo post office. If she hates her job so much she shouldn't take it out on the customers. I didn't see what the the other reviews are talking about at all. Come on it's the post office 3rd most dreadful place to go to in my mind, DMV and jury dutie being ahead. Its not like we are shoping at restoration hardware. There is plenty of parking and no line. This post office, however small is great! I'v had a P.O. Box here for over 15 years. My packages have never been lost or misplaced. There is a bit of a wait as there is only one postal employee assigned to this location. She is pleasant, dedicated and been there for years. I don't understand why this post office only has 1 employee. I went there during the Christmas season and we were in line out in the cold waiting for the clerk who showed up at 11:30. 1 Star just because it exists...it could be worse without it, I guess! The slowest place on earth. It opens at 10:32am because at 10:30, the lady slowly walks to the front door and slowly unlocks the door and slowly walks back to the back and slowly goes to the front desk. Then at lunch, she quickly closes and at 2:32 she does all the slow motions of opening again. At 4:30 it closes again! And you would think that a person who works 2 hrs, has a 2 hr break than works 2 + hrs and is home before 5pm for sure, would have at least a cheerful attitude, but I guess that's too much to ask. My friend and I have talked about applying for that job. It must be awesome and she clearly is not enjoying it. My first task would be to clean up that place so when people come looking for their boxes, they don't have to watch their little box with nice Dolce & Gabbana sunglasses come out of the floor, under a bunch of heavy boxes. Wow watch out for the little short lady that works there she has very little patience and will not break down prices properly she gotten me a few times by saying 13 dollars and start stamping and processing everything so quick before u know it your swiping your credit card for 24 dollars and location only got her working there most of the time seems like shes only nice to certain customers heads up people!
