But, I explained to him I do reviews on Yelp and he then proceeded to make some interesting remarks. All that aside, we recycled 4-5 garbage bags of cans that filled up 2 of their trash bins. Only got $16 back but it's better than nothing. If you're looking for a recycling center, going here is your best bet. Their prices are better than their competitors and they're organized/clean.

No way was I going to Concord Recycling Center (lines are very long). I was surprise I remember Sun's Recycling in Port Chicago (I didn't know this was still Concord) A family own business. I was very impress on the guy unloading my eight big trash bags of plastic bottles into one huge net bag. Very impressive on the guy hauling my plastic bottles. I manage to come to Sun' Recycling Center at a perfect time while there was no people. I manage to come and get out of there fast! Only suggestion is if you happen to have a U-Haul with a bunch of cans and bottles this wouldn't be a good idea to bring your redeem here (you might tick off others who want to redeem their cans and bottles).

Let's start at the beginning, there was a LOT FULL sign at the entrance, not blocking at all & I saw no attendant there bringing cars in from other lot or anything so I wasn't going to trust that, I slowly pulled in & surprisingly found ONE singular spot open right in front! I wasn't sure if it was a walkway to the front but the line wrapped around the next 3-4 spots so I knew I wouldn't be in any way. I got all my recycling in the first two wired bins I could snag near me, it wasn't until I was in line that I noticed a small sign, not even near the empty cans, that described what materials they wanted placed in specific bins. (There's wired & blue plastic ones) I don't believe I followed what they wanted exactly but they still took my materials! So that's good. I had a broken beaker in my glass & mentioned it to the gentleman doing the weighing & he told me they'd take it I'm fine! I watched as he weighed out my minimal amount of materials & then wrote me out a receipt of sorts. I got to the front, the lady on the right took my clipboard & then said the lady on the left will give me my cash. NOW, I had read Yelp reviews on this place before going & a person said a lady fitting this one's description had jipped her $10 ! Off of a $65 total! Insane! So I made sure to check my money before even turning around to leave, I could tell my amount was $11 & I flipped up the 10 & said politely, "this is only $10, I'm supposed to have $11?" She got flustered & apologized while digging out another dollar for me. I'm glad I read reviews bc I might've walked off & got in my car before realizing, then probably would've been too scared to say something! So that lady being a serial jipper & the state of the parking lot, potholes & no attendant are the reasons for stars knocked off! This place is so far east in Fairfield I might as well just go to VacaRecyling, I enjoyed that place!

I used to go to Delta Scrap in Oakley until they closed and they don't deduct for moisture if you tell them they're empty and you get a receipt that gives you a breakdown of weight of the bins, moisture, material and price. Thank you Pavel for responding but that's what I understood when I inquired about moisture deduction on my first visit when I told the guy they're empty and since I didn't get a receipt, I assumed it was deducted. Delta Scrap used to automatically deduct moisture unless you tell them you've emptied them out and that's what I didn't like because they can clearly see they're empty and should be honest about it. He saw that I had my hands full with a crying baby and toddler, he kindly assisted me in unloading and was courteous enough to take the bins up front. They do require you to put your drivers license number, license plate, a signature & your fingerprint in order to get paid out as it is part of the State of California Scrap Law.

In the past they had a system where you could leave a name and phone number for a call back instead of staying on the line. I wish they kept that call back feature. I think it'll be a lot better in the future once the kinks are worked out. On the website they acknowledged the long phone call wait times and said they're actively looking to add more help. Personally I've always been able to get a hold of a person and they're usually very helpful. Last time I was on hold for about 10 minutes before being connected. In the past I've used their online contact form to set up service. Your mileage may vary if you're renting through a big box landlord and the account is in their name. But that isn't Recology's fault. I've called for bulky item pick ups three times in the past couple years and requested bins twice. It's always been very timely! They come when they said they would. Usually that means the next regular service day for your address. The garbage men have been kind. I once overstuffed the trash bin. They still took it that day but left a note saying next time the lid must be able to close or they will charge extra. It is a little unusual they bill quarterly in advance. But what can you do? There isn't a choice for your weekly residential waste disposal. But if there was I'd choose Recology over the competitor that services Fairfield any day. I've never had issues with their service.

Allowed workers to function under terrible work circumstances and did not do anything until recently. Majority of workers are lazy and rude, giving my older relative the majority of work at the time. Issues with materials coming up short likely due to theft. Daniel is a terrible manager and person. He employed his daughter to a managerial position due to his sway of power. Relative would constantly complain about workers being lazy and rude to them and customers, but did absolutely nothing. Needs to be shut down and potentially sued for negligence and discrimination. Do NOT give this barley legitimate farce of a recycling center any of your business.
