I was told by businesses in Pleasant Hill and Martinez that Recycle It would be faster service compare to going to Concord Recycling Center. When I come to this location I already got my plastic bottles and cans separated which impresses the people that work there. I am in and out within five minutes. I am aware of plastic bottles and cans to be separated which I have seen other people still separating theirs which they take longer to do. A good business for a place to get money for your plastics and cans.

But, I explained to him I do reviews on Yelp and he then proceeded to make some interesting remarks. All that aside, we recycled 4-5 garbage bags of cans that filled up 2 of their trash bins. Only got $16 back but it's better than nothing. If you're looking for a recycling center, going here is your best bet. Their prices are better than their competitors and they're organized/clean.

Workers always pick up your bins for you when you're done putting your recycling in as well and receiving your payment is quick and easy via check. Some say you lose more money by turning in recycling by weight instead of per bottle but those like me who just need to recycle and get out right away, this is your place for good value in experience while doing a tedious task. Workers deserve a raise. They work hard to make the process go as smooth as possible for all customers. Thank you for all your help. No way was I going to Concord Recycling Center (lines are very long). I was surprise I remember Sun's Recycling in Port Chicago (I didn't know this was still Concord) A family own business. I was very impress on the guy unloading my eight big trash bags of plastic bottles into one huge net bag. Very impressive on the guy hauling my plastic bottles. I manage to come to Sun' Recycling Center at a perfect time while there was no people. I manage to come and get out of there fast! Only suggestion is if you happen to have a U-Haul with a bunch of cans and bottles this wouldn't be a good idea to bring your redeem here (you might tick off others who want to redeem their cans and bottles).

The last 4 times I've visited, it's been self service, then the woman in the office helps you. She's been questioning me about my cans every time, and told me that the next time I was going to get scrap metal pricing, because the cans didn't have labels on them (the beer label stickers had been peeled off). She also questioned if I crushed them with a machine. What kind of machine? I mean, I crush them, like a normal person, with my feet, so I can fit 4 times as many in a bag, but whatever. Unfortunately for me, it's become a hassle, and awkward trip, so I will be finding somewhere else to recycle.

Let's start at the beginning, there was a LOT FULL sign at the entrance, not blocking at all & I saw no attendant there bringing cars in from other lot or anything so I wasn't going to trust that, I slowly pulled in & surprisingly found ONE singular spot open right in front! I wasn't sure if it was a walkway to the front but the line wrapped around the next 3-4 spots so I knew I wouldn't be in any way. I got all my recycling in the first two wired bins I could snag near me, it wasn't until I was in line that I noticed a small sign, not even near the empty cans, that described what materials they wanted placed in specific bins. (There's wired & blue plastic ones) I don't believe I followed what they wanted exactly but they still took my materials! So that's good. I had a broken beaker in my glass & mentioned it to the gentleman doing the weighing & he told me they'd take it I'm fine! I watched as he weighed out my minimal amount of materials & then wrote me out a receipt of sorts. I got to the front, the lady on the right took my clipboard & then said the lady on the left will give me my cash. NOW, I had read Yelp reviews on this place before going & a person said a lady fitting this one's description had jipped her $10 ! Off of a $65 total! Insane! So I made sure to check my money before even turning around to leave, I could tell my amount was $11 & I flipped up the 10 & said politely, "this is only $10, I'm supposed to have $11?" She got flustered & apologized while digging out another dollar for me. I'm glad I read reviews bc I might've walked off & got in my car before realizing, then probably would've been too scared to say something! So that lady being a serial jipper & the state of the parking lot, potholes & no attendant are the reasons for stars knocked off! This place is so far east in Fairfield I might as well just go to VacaRecyling, I enjoyed that place!

He saw that I had my hands full with a crying baby and toddler, he kindly assisted me in unloading and was courteous enough to take the bins up front. They do require you to put your drivers license number, license plate, a signature & your fingerprint in order to get paid out as it is part of the State of California Scrap Law.

Filipino nanangs who took and placed calls on my behalf for the Co. were completely clueless. Mixing up days of the week, account numbers, giving out almost completely wrong info regarding the process on all fronts. Complete waste of time. And the bulk pick up had to be handled another way in the end, which turned into a hassle. Hassles that could've been mitigated or avoided altogether with competent assistance in the beginning from Recology.

They refuse to change them out because they aren't broken in their eyes however every time one of my tenants puts too much liquid in them they leak all over. The supervisor came out to inspect the trash cans. It takes a lot of arrogance to park in my other tenants' parking spots and stay there as long as he did. My tenants deserve their parking spots ready for them whenever they need them. That isn't your place to park. Obnoxious company. I was telling my wife last night I should keep track of all the times I have to call them and all the times they skipped my account and sue them to get back all the money that is lost with them always wasting my time having to call them. Going to try to upload video of them examining their trash cans. I spend a lot of money on this company. They can work on their customer service. Update: emailed customer service directly and the president of the company after finding his email on the computer. Derek took great care of me. All my bins got changed and I'm assuming supervisor was aware of my complaint. Now I know how to escalate for future use. At least somebody there has their head screwed on correctly.

I typically only have one or two bags as I don't like to have a hunger stock pile at my house. You can also recycle your metal/appliances there as well. Across the street you can drop off your cardboard to be recycled as well. It's better to get a few bucks back for your cans and bottles instead of putting it in the trash.
