I picked up a form and politely asked the woman if it was the correct form for an international shipment. Instead of responding professionally, she loudly stated, "We don't do them at this time," in a way that everyone in the lobby could hear. She did not apologize or offer any assistance. She then said there were only 10 minutes left until closing, even though it was still before 5:00 p.m. and there were only five people ahead of me in line. A few minutes later, she again announced that they do not process international shipments near closing time, claiming that it takes more than five minutes. She then went to lock the side door and came back to me while I was still waiting in line. She repeated that they would not process my international shipment because they were about to close. I told her that I had already heard her say that multiple times and that I simply needed to pay for the envelope. She continued to insist that I did not need to pay for the envelope instead of addressing my concerns or offering any solution. What was most frustrating was that after 5:00 p.m., several additional customers were still allowed to enter the post office. In fact, as I was leaving, four more people walked in, and there was a line extending out the door. I do not understand why I was refused service for an international shipment when I arrived before closing and other customers were still being allowed into the building. I found the employee's tone and behavior unprofessional, dismissive, and unnecessarily rude. I believe customers who arrive before closing should be treated respectfully and provided with clear, courteous explanations regarding any service limitations.

When I tried to address the issue, the staff was rude and dismissive. One employee even had the nerve to ask me whether I was a manager and whether I knew how to run a store. No, I am not a manager of a UPS Store, but I have worked in some form of customer service for several years, and I do know that if a customer arrives before the posted closing time, they should be treated with basic professionalism and respect. Closing early and then being rude to a customer who arrived during business hours is unacceptable.
