The staff is always helpful I have a post office box and they kindly put a key in my box as to where the packages are in larger boxes at the back of the room. The staff recognize and acknowledge each customer. In a pinch you can pick up a greeting card there....nice selection. read more

They always friendly and helpful. Yes it's small and not a huge staff but it's a small town and deff does the job. If your in a terrible rush then it will be hit or miss if you wait in line. But that doesn't bother me as everyone is friendly and easy to start up a conversation. read more

Do note they will not print a pre-paid shipping label so come with it printed. For context, we had to reorder a label last minute, since there is no printer kiosk at the store we had to drive to the Saratoga Library and quickly print it out. When we arrived back at the post office they refused to lend any tape (a post service offering no tape?), so we bought a $4 roll (the cheapest). Was told to get back in line because others were waiting while I walked over to grab said tape roll, about 3 ft away, which took about 10 seconds. With the back and forth we were there for over an hour, simply to drop off 2 packages. One clerk had a friendly demeanor about which was great, the other female clerk was extremely abrupt and made the overall experience frustrating. They should invest in a printer kiosk, there is much customer printing to be done in a post office. I'm still hung up on the lack of tape at a POST office. read more

This is by far the worst post office I have ever been to. The workers are extremely rude, and the supposed postmaster Stephanie is even worse. (I say supposed because I have a feeling Stephanie was lying when she said she is the postmaster.) No wonder there are so many bad reviews for this location! I mailed a package in December of 2020, and it still has not arrived. When I tried to talk to the worker he told me to file a claim online. When I filed a claim online I was told to go talk to the postmaster. So then I went back to the postmaster and she raised her voice at me and told me to go file a claim online. Seriously? If you want to be treated like crap and be given the runaround this is the perfect place to go. Otherwise be prepared to wait in a long line, get yelled at, and not get anything done/resolved. Sanity restored! The WITCH EMILY is GONE! She is now working in Salinas! I feel sorry for the postal workers AND Customers of Salinas Post Office who have to put up with EMILY mean and verbally abusive and emotionally abusive behavior. I have witnessed her over several visits insult and verbally abuse her co-workers and also her verbal tirades at postal customers, especially those who are Seniors and people with English as a 2nd Language. She should have been fired for your xenophobia and Elder abuse, not to mention her abusive behavior at the staff. tldr; thank u tony!! i was expecting a package that was shipped internationally to my residence, but never received a notice about missing the delivery date until the seller emailed me a reminder about picking the package up from my local usps before it got shipped back. i tried calling the customer service center but the automation was absolutely useless, so i just drove over here to retrieve my package. the line was a bit long, but tony at the front desk simply asked a few questions and then immediately located my package! really happy with how efficient our interaction was :) read more

I don't know why too many people have faced issues with them. When I came for mailing a few documents, things were efficient and smooth. The postal operator was polite and efficient. Only issue is ignorant people hogging time with unnecessary questions and cutting the line for random information sessions. Will return again read more

After having received excellent service at this site since 1969 I must say, it has plummeted into the abyss. From 5 stars to one because of despicable, rude, uncaring, whiny management. For six weeks I was receiving mail for another address, same number but much different street name. This was very, very important mail. A student was receiving acceptance and rejection letters from universities... very time-sensitive. I tried everything... notes to the delivery person as well as notes to the post mistress, Stephanie,... all to no avail. The letters just kept coming. Stephanie refused to speak with me. I waited 45 minutes, there was no-one in the office and I could see her milling around the mailroom and she could see me. Why? It was not even a self-serving visit... just concern for the student applicant. When I attempted to explain this delivery problem to the desk clerk he refused to hear me saying very rudely that he was not in the complaints department and he would "close his window" if I did not leave. Lucky for him a customer entered or I would have stood there all day! Mailhold has become a serious problem since Stephanie's tenure. She blames this on the fact that Saratoga has "so many mailholds." Nonsense, it's a management problem. Saratoga has always had loads of mail hold requests Stephanie has told customers that her office is understaffed. Blame assessment on the realities of the workplace does not solve problems. When one of my packages went missing, Supervisor Rhonda Garcia took prompt action to trace the GPS location of delivery and our area mailman Kodi went to the location, collected the package and handed it over to me in person. This is a terrific post office with friendly staff. The USPS service itself is pretty amazing too and I'm not complaining about the cost of a first class stamp. I am completely clueless of the prices and processes needed to send packages in the mail, so when I wanted to send a care package to my friend in Korea, I was hoping the staff could hold my hand and walk through the process. The lady I talked to definitely helped me send the package, but there were a couple incidents that made me feel like she thought I was stupid for not knowing much about the postal service. I was sending some Chex Mix to my friend because she claimed there was no Chex Mix in Korea and she was in love of the stuff while she was in the US. The lady that was helping me made some offhand comments like, you shouldn't even be sending this, it's a waste of money. Hey, if I wanted your opinions on what I'm sending I'll ask..thanks. My friend got a good laugh at my package and that's all I wanted. She was pretty short to me because I didn't know what the cheapest way to send my gift was. I was asking her about the new one flat rate boxes and about different envelope sizes and by the end she was kind of irritated by me. Aside from this one event, this post office has always been really helpful and polite. The lines are pretty short because Saratoga is a pretty small town and the wait in line is usually less than 10 minutes. They have a pretty big parking lot for such a small branch and I've never had to wait for a parking spot. Oh, you can also get your passport picture taken here, a nice little kudos. read more

Not a shocker this Post Office has a two star rating. Carrier dropped off a package at my home today that was torn in shreds and WET...yep. The package was an electronic device that was sopping wet upon delivery. I immediately drove to my neighborhood PO only to turn around and drive home because the PO was WEDGED with people! I guess Covid safety protocols do not apply to this particular branch. I literally opened the door with my mangled package only to turn around and leave. No thanks. There's a maximum amount of people allowed in an enclosed space. This branch didn't get the statewide memo. I get tacos down the street and the owner does not allow more than four people to stand in line inside. There were at least 20 people in line at my PO...ALL indoors. Wow. read more

Rudest people I've ever dealt with. I did not expect this in a quaint suburb. Went there a little early for a passport appointment. One nice middle aged woman called out to a guy in the back who would help me at a separate window. I was instructed to ring the bell when it was time for my appointment. When the time came, I pressed the doorbell and it didn't work. My husband even tried, we were pushing as hard as we could. It was broken. I asked for help at the counter and a different lady, a heavy set dirty blonde with tips dyed blue glared at me and screamed "push it harder." We tried multiple times again, and I asked for help a second time. She shrieked "YOU'RE NOT LISTENING, I SAID PUSH HARDER!!!" in the most aggressive and rude way. My husband came out too and said it was broken. Begrudgingly she hollered for help. In the time she wasted being nasty and barking at us she could've just asked the dude sitting in the back a few feet away from her to open the window. Asian guy behind the window was also bizarrely aggressive and condescending. When he took my son's original birth certificate for the application I was skeptical they really needed the original copy. So he sighed very obviously in annoyance and called the nasty lady over "as a witness" to him explaining this to us. Both of them scoffed at us saying "go ahead and submit without it [original copy], it will be rejected and the application fee won't be refunded." We gave in, finished the transaction and he slammed the window screen down in our faces. They were right about needing to submit originals but was this despicable behavior necessary? They simply do not treat patrons with respect and are shameless about it. I am so disgusted. I would avoid this place at all costs. read more

This is my neighborhood post office so I use it a lot. Experience is hit and miss. Last week, I was trying to send some documents via Priority mail international. I made an online purchase and was trying drop it off in the postal office. And I had 3 pieces paper that came with the purchase, a bar code, a certificate of some kind and a custom form. I didn't know I had to stick all 3 on the envelope so I took it to the office ask for clarification. Oh ma' The lady on the counter told me I have to stick all 3 papers on the envelope. And I was in "thank you" mode and asked nicely that I need some tape to stick the papers...I guess she didn't like the fact that I purchased the service online and refused my request. Stated that if I purchase the service online, she can't help me and I have to find the tape somewhere else. last time I check USPS still S word "service"on it!! read more

After reading reviews .. I guess I am not the only one with lost mail . I sent out a wedding card with a hundred dollar gift card and my friend never received it . It was supposed to arrive after two days, but after 10 days it still never did. Luckily I was able to cancel the gift card and they reissued me a new one but I will never send anything of that value here again. I am pretty sure the post office put it in the wrong outgoing box or it fell in the cracks . This has never happened ... EVER ..at any other post office . If the mail was stolen , I think someone would have used the gift card , but when I called to check the balance it still had the full amount on it ... luckily . I don't trust your valuable mail here to get sent to the right place. I guess this place doesn't give a crap about their customers.. or they would've hired new competent people by now . read more

Was just down there two weeks ago - same great experience as always!

I'm not one to write a negative review to just complain. I just find it terribly sad that the postal workers whom work here have a really foul attitude. I come in with my bin of direct mailers, and the first thing out of the ladies mouth when I told her what was in the bin, was "oh god, I'm not going to deal with that". The lady at the first desk will help you because I don't know how to do that". Then the second lady was giving me a hard time about everything. First she rudely shuffles through the paper. Then after asking me a bunch of questions, I give her a credit card. She tells me now they only accept checks, cash and money order. I tell her I've done this several times already and you do accept credit cards. Without looking into it, she still insists that they do not. Back and forth we go...then she finds that they do in fact accept credit cards and then gives me a harder time about the company credit card. Seriously....these people need to stop acting like they're going through menopause. Be happy, do your job. And if you don't like customer service...then don't be in it. A bunch of lazy a$$es over at that office. I'd give it a zero if I could. read more

I would choose another place if I could. But, as a resident of Saratoga, this post office has better hours of service than the other one (closer to Big Basin). Service is horrible. When asking your questions, they don't let you finish your question before they rudely interrupt, answer this vague and non-pertinent answer, and don't let you squeeze in a response because they try to throw as many run-on sentences to get you to shut up. It seems like I have to get into an argument with them in order for them to understand me. In addition, they almost ridicule you for asking. Very impatient. The postmaster there is an idiot. I had to pull someone from customer service to refer me to someone there that would actually take the time to hear me out and answer my questions. Whoever I spoke to seems to have the only sense of brains to have a normal and functional conversation. Everyone else needs a heavy dose of training for customer service. And, the PO Boxes are ridiculous. I get mail that isn't even mine and more junk mail than actual mail of my own. This post office sucks! But, so far in my time in California, I have yet to have a good post office at any of the three cities where I have had PO Boxes. This place is understaffed, has crappy hours (don't they all though) and unreliable service. I am pretty sure my mail gets lost, discarded, or put in the wrong box often. For PO BOX customers who receive a package too big for their box, there are these large keyed lockers. The postal worker will put a numbered key in your box and then you can go retrieve your package 24/7 without having to go to the counter and bring a slip to exchange for your package. Nice system in theory, and worked great when I had PO BOXES in Texas, but in my year of using this location I have received many packages and NEVER once have they put it in these lockers for me. I always get a slip and have to come back to the counter during business hours, which does NOT work for me bc of my job. I think the problem is people don't pick up their boxes from the lockers frequently, as they all appear to be full. I find this frustrating and lame!!! Oh USPS stop sucking and maybe you wouldn't loosing business to FedEx and UPS! read more

It is 6:05pm and my mail hasn't been delivered yet, nor has anyone else's up and down my street judging from the flags up on the boxes. I looked on my calendar to make sure it isn't some government holiday like Arbor Day or some crap like that....no, its just a Wednesday. Did the mail person take an inordinately long lunch today and get behind? Someone call in sick so the mail person has triple the mail to deliver? The local Saratoga USPS service was pretty dismal before...now it is just plain ridiculous. On the occasional stormy day (amid our drought) we have not gotten mail at all. Is their new motto "Nor rain, nor sleet, nor snow...excluding sunny days" ?? I can see why ppl are calling for the privatization of mail service. read more

The rating for this post office is proof that people will only review certain businesses if they're angry but not if they're satisfied. This post office is GREAT! The employees are very polite and have great common sense. If a line is forming they'll ask who needs particular services that are quick and easy (mail pick up and such) so they don't have to wait behind those mailing packages. I asked someone if I could take a box I hadn't paid for yet out to my car to pack it and she said "Sure, I trust you!" I really appreciate that kind of stuff. The employees even joke around sometimes. Once I brought in a box that measured about 3" x 3" x 1" and as she was putting the stickers on she joked, "I bet you could find a box just a LITTLE smaller.." It's a pleasant surprise to laugh on a trip to the post office. I tried the post office on Steven's Creek of of Hwy 85 once and got in line behind 7 people. I waited in line for 15 minutes before I had to leave because I was still behind 5 people. I'm not used to that kind of BS, the longest I've ever waited in Saratoga is less than 10 minutes. read more

Wish I could give 0 stars because that is the service I received today. I go to this post office to ship over a dozen packages a month. Today I got there at exactly 1PM, the door was not closed but the customer walking out (not even the last one) was asked to close the door behind him. I came to ship packages long overdue due to the christmas holiday, and the man at the door is in my way talking to the employee, so I ask if I can just ship this and he is unsure. He says its not his choice, *because he is obviously the customer* then some old buzzard of a man (you will know who I mean) says "NO WE ARE CLOSED 1PM!" from behind the counter. He is never pleasant to work with I guess I know now he is probably judging me because I am half his age. I look at my phone, its EXACTLY 1PM! I missed it by ZERO minutes, and he wouldn't even let one last guy in... I am less than ten feet from the counter!!! but WAIT THERE IS MORE DISAPPOINTMENT! I go to my PO BOX, yes I also stupidly pay for services there.... and look back, and they let the old lady in who came behind me to ship her mail. I told her on the way out, its too late they won't let anyone in... but like magic she must know something I don't, she goes and asks and they open the door for her to ship her envelopes. Apparently this post office has an age range for common decency. Since I do not look like I am 85, I guess my invisible herniated discs and such do not qualify for their sympathy enough to have common decency. I will refuse to work with that guy for as long as I am stuck using this post office, I will tell them "Sorry I prefer to work with someone without an age range on common decency, and who isn't an asshole" I hope it makes a scene every time. read more

We had an appointment and were seen late due to another worker in the passport area was helping people that had no appointment and there for we were seen late by another female employee who didn't care one bit and said that she would only do one of our applications due to our appt was from 12:45-1:15.
