My job had me in the West San Jose area, and I wanted to drop off an Ebay order I had to ship. I pre-labeled the package, and ideally I wanted to hand it to a clerk. So I go inside the lobby, and there's no clerks at the counter. Customers are just standing around waiting. Oh well, I decided to just drop it in the lobby dropoff. It's a somewhat medium sized post office. It has mail boxes, self serve kiosk, and limited parking in the lot. There's a huge yellow zone at the curb on the street. My truck has commercial plates, so I parked there. Yes! Active unloading! I would come again if needed. See my photo for hours.

Came here to drop off some return packages, they have a sign at the drop-off counter "No UPS or…read moreFedex" and even then i didn't check my printed mailing slips. Turned out my packages were UPS!! And the USPS was closed by the time i returned but i could still go inside and see some people. They motioned they were closed but i tried to explain my situation about dropping the wrong packages and it took awhile but someone finally came over and said they would not be able to find it and that they sift thru and either UPS or Fedex will eventually come to pick up the packages and it will be shipped. I'm hoping she's right and hopefully this helps someone else.

When we arrived back at the post office they refused to lend any tape (a post service offering no tape?), so we bought a $4 roll (the cheapest). Was told to get back in line because others were waiting while I walked over to grab said tape roll, about 3 ft away, which took about 10 seconds. With the back and forth we were there for over an hour, simply to drop off 2 packages. One clerk had a friendly demeanor about which was great, the other female clerk was extremely abrupt and made the overall experience frustrating. They should invest in a printer kiosk, there is much customer printing to be done in a post office. I'm still hung up on the lack of tape at a POST office.

My experience yesterday left me feeling scared and unsafe, including two kids who seem to have been shook up by two different dogs brought in by two different customers. One particular dog was big and sort of jumped at a man as he was exiting and the owner disregarded the sign about no dogs. The second dog was a waggy-long leash hairy dog going and sniffing people... and the wonder didn't do anything. The kids were shuffling trying to avoid the dog. They NEVER SHOWED UP. Tried to "edit the redelivery online" but because the re-delivery has not yet occurred, it cannot be edited. So my packages and certified mail are in limbo- carrier can't be bothered to redeliver, their office is closed, they have a disconnected number, and I can't edit or re-enter the request to 'try again' online. No wonder USPS is a monolith and should be closed forever. Ok...............I called the local office. It's an old VERIZON WIRELESS number that has been disconnected. WTF. Called 1-800-USPS-SUCKS, and after 25 minutes on hold, got an actual LIVE PERSON somewhere in the deep south. She graciously entered "another redelivery request" and gave me a completely different number to call the local Post Office. Tried that number, rang 20+ times, no voicemail, no one picked up. Tried 10 minutes later. Same "ghosting" crap. I work quite a ways from home and I'm hanging around "Dell Ave" from 8 to 4, M-F, to get my package and letter. Plus I just have to share my appreciation for it during the Holidays because we all know that the post office is crazy the weeks leading up to Christmas! It's a tiny post office, one window and only one employee. Every time I've come here to mail something or buy stamps, it's always a calm and pleasant experience, unlike the bigger post office down the street on Hamilton which often has a long queue. Service is typically friendly and efficient here. Big thank you to Maria, who has helped me get stamps and mail out several packages over the past couple of weeks. She's friendly and very helpful! Keep in mind this small post office is closed from 11am-noon everyday for a lunch break, and also closed on the weekends and holidays.
