The most convenient post office in the world! It is a very tiny USPS location and I'm fortunate to live 2 minutes away from there. I am often a busy person that works at a 8-4:30 job also manage an online business which I typically ship my buyers' packages around 5 to 5:30 after finishing work. Their hours are wonderful and I am grateful for them to operate an hour extra daily (including Saturdays) for us since other post offices close at 4 or 5 as the latest. Thank you USPS on East Chapman for being so convenient for me in every way and helping me deliver my buyers' orders on the exact same day of purchase. Your staff are very helpful too! They may be grouchy at times due to the stressful work environment but, they are actually friendly at heart. On weekdays, they close at 5:30 and 4:00 on Saturdays. Isn't their schedule awesome? No other post office in OC opens that late. Kudos to them! read more

No self service kiosks here & parking is a little difficult since it shares a lot with multiple businesses. Not particularly nice, but I was able to ship 2 packages pretty easily! Employee was pretty rude when I asked 2 questions but it's okay. read more

I need to commend this little post office. They have really stepped up their game!! The customer service here used to be awful, but the last few times I've gone, the staff behind the counter have actually had a personality, they greet you with a smile now, and they even have a little bit of interaction. I still never can remember their hours, that's why I'm posting their schedule. I guess the only bummer about this location is the dang parking! You almost get that excited feeling when you score a spot in the front lot - but just know that there are a few spots on the sides, and some in the back. Employees who work here just look and work like they hate their job, We can tell, trust us! Lines are always long and take forever to get simple services. There is never an urge to get the line cleared up. How in the world is there only one person here working on a Saturday? Thats the busiest day of the week. Service is just ok. I have to go yo this location because they open on Saturday, but the service here sucks. I have a package to send international so It was "ready to go" witch means I have paid already and wrapped it well. I paid $150 for my package and then they couldn't read the bar code bc of the wrap. Ok I understand, but at least talk nicely to the customers. I putted 2 pages on the box with the bar code on it and they said we cannot read it. They ripped the wrap and scanned it. Well FYI the bar codes has a CODE, numbers did you know that? So type it! Don't be lazy and don't be rude! Use the words PLEASE AND THANK YOU At least. Very rude woman. Both of them. read more

Not that they'll care but beware closing time is 5min before. Me and three other patrons got there at 3:57p on Saturday. I know thats cutting it close but I had some trouble getting things together. Either way closing was at 4p. Well the door was already locked, they wouldn't open the door and a a lady came out and claimed she had closed at 4:00 exactly. Impossible since i was there before then. These little Post Office's often get a bad rap, and they are on their way out of the Post Master General has their way. Yes, it's small. That's the point. Yes there are line - because it's small, that's the point. But I have to tell you, I found this particular to have the friendliest postal workers. That means a lot to me. It's a not a cold feeling when you walk in. There are several regulars so of course you're going to ask how they are doing. Yep - that takes a little longer, but it's a small post office. This is a terrific little Official United States Post Office located in the back of one of the plethora of strip malls situated along East Chapman avenue, so its super easy to miss it and pass it on by like I did the first time I drove over here. The big main postal office branches like one on Tustin Ave have a GIANT American flag flying out at the front by the street, which you can easily see when driving by. This venue does have an American flag flying, just not mammoth, and it is only flying directly above the storefront at the back of this mall. Easy to miss it. Same strip mall as Orange Kitchen Chinese. (Really good, btw) I almost hate to share how great this hidden gem is because there are almost no lines here, ok, 1 or 2 peeps, maybe, unlike the main branch on Tustin, but I'm feeling generous. Just don't make the line longer, ok? Had to mail some stuff to one of my East Coast sissies. Props for Priority Mail were all right there. Super helpful staff (2 ladies that day.) Only neggie, not their fault, all the cigar smoke outside from the store next door. Just exit and swing wide to the right to avoid. read more

I would imagine that dealing with Vogon bureaucracy paper work and filling out forms would be much easier than dealing with this post office even on the best day. But if you're ever in the mood to rip out your own hair and want to see the prime example of inefficiency and reason enough to de-fund the postal service, it has to be this one as they will get on you for everything ranging from not filling out the DC# address form to how you packed/closed their priority mail package. Maybe it is Vogon bureaucracy at play here. The post office feels like it belongs in an episode of leave it to beaver. Then again, it's situated right near the orange circle, so why should anyone be surprised that this still has the look and feel that colored folks best not drink from the whites only facet. As for the postal employees. I don't know about you, but I have been shipping shit left and right for the past decade or ore without much of an issue. I do believe I got that locked down. Well, I must have been living a lie because the postal workers here are sticklers for anything that isn't by the book regulation wise. First offense - The package is closed but it's slightly off the mark on where the glue goes. Most every post office I would go to would say that it's not an issue and would just ship it off. This lady at the branch just says to me in a judgmental voice: "Mmmmmm, nope, they're not going to like this one" What that means, I don't know. Then she tries opening the package. Now isn't that a federal offense? Then we fix that issue up and she weighs the package and ask if I want delivery confirmation while I continue writing in other packages addresses. This became a problem in itself as well. For some reason they want you to write the full name and address on the DC# form. Just writing the person's name is not enough for them. Hell, the damn receipt tells you which package going where - but they want you to write in every info. At this point I just said F-it. I had a slew of packages going out and had no time to write every god damn DC# to every address given. But man, this post office has got to be one of the worse run and poorly maintained post offices. The location is very convenient to me, very often I just stopping by in there and often waiting in the line at least 5-10 min. Small location and somehow 1 or 2 cashiers in there. They are polite and will help you with anything you want, but will be good if they got ATM machine, it will help the lines to disappear. read more

So I walk into the post office to mail a package. The portly lady is standing in the back off the office talking to another person behind the barrier. Obviously they are discussing air fares for her daughter. 3 minutes pass and she finally acknowledges me. She is obviously annoyed and it shows with her display of arrogance.After completing my transaction , she grabs my receipt and circles two items with her fingernail and tosses it on the counter, she grabs my package and tosses it as if it was going in a trash can. I sell a small number of items on eBay. I sold three comic books and packaged them in a sturdy envelope with a cardboard liner. The only shipping choices offered by eBay was package or thick envelope which this was. The lady behind the counter at this post office would not take it. She had a arbitrary rule apparently made up at the moment that a thick envelope had to be 3/4". I returned home, hand addressed a new envelope and voided the shipping label on eBay. With the voided label in one hand and the hand addressed envelope in the other, I returned to the post office to buy over the counter postage. A different lady looked at my envelope and the label in my other hand and said "what's wrong with that label?". I lost money on this eBay sale due to the arbitrary decision by the first lady apparently not shared by the second lady. Never again. read more

Came here on a whim and boy was I glad to have found it. I had some mail I needed to send out and I also needed stamps for it. I was in a rush so I was reluctant to go in but I gave it a shot anyway. I was super happy Yuki was working because she was fast compared to the other lady that was working (not going to mention her name). Literally, Yuki helped out 5 customers before me while the other lady was helping one girl and this was before I came!!! It was unbelievable... But then again, the post office does kind of feel like the DMV, no one really seems to really care about customer service and the wait can be forever. SMALL BUT MIGHTY! I love this post office. It's small, and sometimes there are long lines, but it's not as bad as the Tustin P.O. I love the people who work here. They have helped me out some of my most challenging postal needs to figure out the cost effective and efficient way to send packages. The parking lot is very small and parking can be a challenge. Sometimes I have to wait for awhile to get a parking spot. DK Donut's are in the same center so I usually get a donut while i'm there. It is the most pleasant, convenient way for me to service my postal needs, and I will often drive further to go here rather than the larger one on Tustin Ave. read more

Just went to this post office for the first and last time. Went to mail a package for someone else and I walked up with the wrong envelope and the lady behind the counter acted like I was the dumbest person in the world. She gave me tons of attitude and was very nasty. I didn't even say anything to her, I was looking for my envelope and she was like, "What r u doing?!!! Come up here?!!!" So I walked over with whatever I had in my hand and she growled,"that's not the right thing! Look at ur package! It has to match!!" I wasn't even done finding my packaging! She interrupted me, which made me walk up to her cuz I thought she was gonna help me but she just screeched at me! Do not live in Orange if you want your packages to come on time. Every time I order something it's at least a day late. I track my orders and the Orange Post Office has already had my package for over 12 hours. Why is not delivered yet. It doesn't matter what the package is or where it's from. Always at least a whole day late. So don't bother paying for faster shipping. This post office will mess it up. read more

I'm not opposed to small post offices or even the little counters inside the pharmacies. In fact, some of the fastest service I've ever gotten at a post office is at the one inside a pharmacies in Tustin. However, this one is one of the worst post offices I've encountered around here. I had to ship something to my aunt. It was just a super lightweight dress that folded down to about 3/4" of a inch, max. I used the priority flat rate envelope which is about the dimensions of a standard sheet of paper. Easy peasy, so I thought. I've used the flat rate envelopes to ship many things before (including articles of clothing) and the only time I've ever been scolded by a postal clerk was when it was practically bulging at the seams, which I think is a fair scolding, but they accepted it anyway. For my package, just to make it slightly more compact and secure, I folded in the top to the inner most ridge-y line, since it seemed to add more height to the package, though it was just air as I didn't squash it down. The clerk at the counter, Alice, said that it was suppose to be the fold closest to the tab, which reduced the height of the package. I mentioned that this is the first time I've ever encountered this issue with any post office and I've always folded it down to that seam regardless of the size of my package. She said I should've had this issue addressed before and suggested I repackage it in another envelope (same envelope, just refolded to the correct sealing fold). I would've but I had already neatly sealed and protected my whole package with clear mailing tape. She said she would just have to ship it via regular priority instead of flat rate. I agreed and ... wait for it... it was just a whopping $.35 more. Seriously. For all the hassle and the waste of another envelope and her time and mine, it was a whopping $0.35. I'm pretty sure the packaging envelope and her hourly pay is not worth that. Mind you, it probably would've been the same exact size and dimension had I repackaged it per her specifications. So save yourself the hassle and avoid this location (and especially Alice) because apparently she'll start a beef with anyone. The person who came in after me left the door open and she sacastically called out, "Would SOMEONE be so kind as to shut the door!?!" The man in front of me whispered that she's always sarcastic and that she never smiles. Worst post office clerk I've encountered and I've encountered my fair share. Stick to the postal workers in Tustin and Irvine instead. read more

Now, I'm not exactly a libertarian, so when someone rants about the USPS I have to step in and say I generally have a painless experience with them unlike private sector shipping. This, THIS is the place people are talking about and after experiencing it personally with my boy Javier J. I have to say, it truly is a Kafkaesque experience (I have never read Kafka). First thing's first, the office itself is small, which is not in itself a big deal. Even the fact that they seem understaffed for a college town can be excused since I live near one, but to add insult to injury the employees there are something else entirely. Every occasion we've been there they've found something wrong with our packages where other post offices simply would ignore it. Flap off 90 degrees? Gonna hafta open your box! Tape sticking out? Gonna hafta open your box! Not a White Anglo Saxon Protestant? Gonna hafta open your box! Don't get me started on the apparent need to fill out customs forms for EVERYthing even if it's going to the magical exotic land of faraway Ohio. By all means go here if you like "nostalgia." Do you like having someone else pump your gas? Do you like big government effieciency with small town smallness (without any of the warmth)? By all means go here! But don't go here if you want anything shipped, I don't know, today. If you need to do USPS go to the one in Huntington Beach, the difference is palpable. Like night and day difference. I've never had a postal employee refuse to accept a package because she thought I way trying to cheat the postal system until I made the mistake of coming here. I showed up with my package ready to go with preprinted online postage. I could have just dropped it off, but I wanted to have them scan it in so I could have a record that I dropped it off. 5 people were in line before me. The first customer was arguing with the clerk about her PO Box. The others in line were getting impatient since this argument seemed to have started long before I showed up. It didn't really go anywhere and eventually the woman was given a phone number to call and left. The next two in line were a father and son who wanted to get a refund on some money orders that they purchased and did not use. This has happened to me in the past before and it was a relatively quick process. Not so much here. The clerk spent a lot of time scrutinizing the money orders and asked to see the son's ID about 5 times. Around the fourth time she checked his ID the woman who was next in line got frustrated and left. By the time the two got their money back it was just me and the guy in front of me. He just needed to mail some tax documents (overheard him on his cell phone) and got pretty frustrated by how hard the clerk was trying to talk him into upgrading to Priority Mail. He eventually agreed, largely because I think he just wanted to get out of there. So now it is my turn. I had spent about 30 minutes in line at this point. With online postage you get a shipping label to print and affix to your package. The label has a barcode and shipping information, but not much else. When I drop off a package at any other post office in the world the clerk says thank you and takes it. Sometimes they automatically scan it for you and hand you a receipt showing the package was dropped off, sometimes you have to ask them to do that, and occasionally they'll give you an excuse on why they can't scan it at the moment, but they will always still accept the package. Well here, before I can even ask for a scan, the clerk tells me she thinks I didn't pay for enough postage. Keep in mind that the price I paid on the online postage site (which is operated by the US Postal Service) is not in any way displayed on the label. The clerk just assumes I underpaid. She asks me the dimensions of the box and I tell her; the box was purchased from Staples which prints the dimensions on the box itself and I had entered those dimensions when buying the prepaid postage online. She weighs and measure the package and tells me the height is an inch and a half taller than what Staples put on the box. She says there is no way I paid for enough postage even though at this point she still has no idea how much I paid. I finally told her how much I paid figuring that if the difference between the online price and counter price wasn't much I would just pay for a new label and get a refund for the online prepaid label. She proceeds to tell me that it would cost over $20 more since that extra inch and a half apparently puts me into large box pricing instead of medium box. I argue a little that I really doubt the box was somehow that much bigger. She proceeds to tell me that she suspects that I am trying to cheat the postal system. She says that prepaid shipping labels should have the dimensions of the package printed on them and since my label didn't have that I must have "denied" (her word) it. I'm not sure how I can deny a computer program that I entered the correct information into and in all my years of using self printed shipping labels I have never seen the dimensions printed on the label, even when shipping larger packages that incurred an oversized fee. Anyways, after much arguing she seemed like she didn't want to give my package back since she was so sure I was using it to defraud the postal service. I finally just grab it off the counter to leave and she warns me that now she knows what I did she would deny my package if I tried to come back and drop it off. Feeling pretty upset, I drove to my local post office (which closes earlier on Saturdays; hence the reason I went to this one). My plan was to just drop the package off in the after hours box. My post office has the self service kiosk which has rulers built into the kiosk. I measured the package and it was the size the manufacturer promised. I used the postage calculator on the kiosk and I gave me basically the same price as I had paid online (you do get a slight discount for printing at home). Even though the post office was closed, a worker just happened to come out to empty the collection boxes while I was there and gladly accepted my package for me. I would chalk this all up to a bad day if it wasn't for all the other reviews on here. This post office is whack. read more

My god did it take forever! I know they're trying to give good customer service, but there is just too much talking when the customer to employees ratio is 6:1. The post office near Orange Circle isn't a bad place if you have all day to stand in line and feel like telling your life story to the attendant when your name is called. There is usually only one person working there each day and be prepared to get reprimanded if you use the wrong box or tape. I suggest the post office on Tustin Ave. It's faster and there's even a guy I like to call Flash to help if you use a debit or credit card and send something within the USA. read more
