I replied I would like to open a po box, a staff member shoved a form at me and walked into the back. That's part 1. I filled out the form and brought my drivers license to a large, heavy set white woman. I opened a pdf of my insurance on my phone- 2 required documents. She said she needed a paper form, so I left went to my car and retrieved the registration. She, then, said she wouldn't accept my valid US driver's license because the address was different. None of these requirements are on the actual form, but fine. I show her an employee id- no expiration date. She insists I go home and get a passport or my military id!!! After each new "requirement", she walks off to the back and pretends I'm not there anymore. I have had po boxes at several post offices including this location, for years- never had an issue actually opening the box with valid id. I did have issues with them losing mail, not being open as advertised, and never answering their phone. I'm filing a complaint, not that I expect much to come of it, but people like her is why this area has such a wonderful reputation. My only consolation is that she is probably a deeply miserable person, to feel the need treat people this way.

You have to make sure you arrive early, like 10-14 minutes early. You need to make sure you have everything document wise you need to make sure everyone in your party is present. The guy that did it before was great. Now I don't know what happened with the staff, but they are short and rude to me. The other people when I came in today they acted nice to. By the way Saturdays are walk ins that you can try IF YOU ARE PREPARED. The trump administration has made getting a passport extremely difficult now and there is no clear communication with staff and customers. It is so annoying when you live 2 mins away and have to rush home to get something. They repeated to me 5x "I have another appointment scheduled you might have to come back". I come back have everything filled out and then it's not clear unless it's in SMALL fine print that everyone is supposed to be present so now, after wasting much of my time I can't get back I have to re-schedule yet AGAIN. I swear to god if I show up 1 minute late they hound me that "I'm not prepared". The value of the customer service here has significantly went down since Covid-19. I submitted a standard USPS Exhibit 5-2b form to request a forwarding address for the service of legal process, which is explicitly protected and permitted under federal law via 39 CFR 265.14. Mark repeatedly yelled at me, claiming "you cannot have someone else's address." When I asked him to stop shouting and requested his supervisor's information, he claimed he was the "final authority," refused to give his name, and called the Belmont Police. When two police officers arrived, Mark lied to them, claiming I was trying to illegally obtain private data. The supervisor was mean, completely unprofessional, and escalated a routine legal request into a police matter for absolutely no reason. If you need a legal process form handled, avoid this branch at all costs.
