Extremely rude, if they were not govt workers or they would definitely be out of business and out of a job. I went in to open a po box, greeted the staff and said I was interested in a po box. Staff reply, "What about it?" I replied I would like to open a po box, a staff member shoved a form at me and walked into the back. That's part 1. I filled out the form and brought my drivers license to a large, heavy set white woman. I opened a pdf of my insurance on my phone- 2 required documents. She said she needed a paper form, so I left went to my car and retrieved the registration. She, then, said she wouldn't accept my valid US driver's license because the address was different. None of these requirements are on the actual form, but fine. I show her an employee id- no expiration date. She insists I go home and get a passport or my military id!!! After each new "requirement", she walks off to the back and pretends I'm not there anymore. I have had po boxes at several post offices including this location, for years- never had an issue actually opening the box with valid id. I did have issues with them losing mail, not being open as advertised, and never answering their phone. I'm filing a complaint, not that I expect much to come of it, but people like her is why this area has such a wonderful reputation. My only consolation is that she is probably a deeply miserable person, to feel the need treat people this way. read more

This post office is great. The people are friendly, our mailman gives our dog biscuits and plays ball with her, and I have never had any problem with the service. They hold our mail when we're away, and always get it right. Our mailman even took the "away" slip for us once because we were late getting it in. All around a nice group of professional people. read more

I've never had any problem with this P.O., other than sometimes longish lines at busy times. The old location (which P.O. had to vacate when plaza was redone, and then the poor workers had to operate for MONTHS out of a trailer!) had three stations, which helped during busy times. This one only has two, but I think that was the best they could do within the space. Everyone I've ever dealt with has been friendly courteous and professional. (Try the P.O. I just went into the post office to mail something I had got and needed to return. I used the original packaging with the return label the business had provided me. When I brought it up to the counter she rudely said, "ummm you can't use a pre-made return label with a priority packaging! You need to pay for your own packaging." And grabbed it away from me. I tried to explain the situation and she was extremely rude. How am I supposed to know about packaging rules?? Instead of explaining it to me nicely, she had an attitude. Worst Post office ever. I ended up having 3 packages not delivered and there is no way to call this post office. I had to go in person to find out that the packages were stolen from my porch. They don't answer the phones and close at 5pm. So unless you leave work early as most people in the US work 9-5, it's nearly impossible to get a hold of anyone. Horrible location and very unfriendly people working there. No wonder why the US post office is bankrupt. read more

Get Rid of that Woman.... I was in the area of Bedford, MA, and had a Small Priority Package that had to be checked in and I needed a receipt. I went into the Bedford, MA PO, and there was a woman there. I had a quick conversation with you regarding the renovations going on in the plaza. I then handed her my package with the label made out prior to arrival and asked her to check it in by scanning it and I needed a receipt. This was insured for $1000 and it is necessary to not leave it w/o being scanned so that it becomes active and trackable. She said that she couldn't do it because I had printed the label at home and saved money (something like $0.30) and because of that, she couldn't scan it, etc. I told her I have never heard that before when checking items in across NE or other parts of the US. The only way to make that label active, trackable and for insurance to kick it, is to have it scanned. It can be done behind the scenes, but my insurance agency requires I have it scanned as it is not trackable until the PO has scanned it and entered their system. I could have left the package with her, and it would have gone to the back room and been scanned, but I would not have seen it scanned nor have gotten a receipt. It really is stupidity not to accept and scan it - it HAS to enter the system. To leave it without scanning could mean that I lose $1000 if it never shows up in the system. Has happened before when dropped of in a mail box without being scanned.... This women needs an update. I didn't ask to speak to anyone else, I just brought the item over to Chelmsford and they scanned it without issue, without questions,, etc. just as ALL other Post Offices have done over the past 10 years!.... This woman has got to go. Get rid of her. Im sure she has worked there long enough to know what really the rules are, and her refusal makes no sense. If this is indeed the rule, then I won't be using USPS for ALL of my shipping - I spend thousands of dollars with them annually. read more
