The postal worker put a totally different country. I called Swampscott PO and they couldn't help me !!! They made the mistake of putting the wrong country on it how can you not help me !? Fast forward to today May 29th after calling the main post office my package is finally back in Swampscott. I called to make sure they didn't send it back to the wrong country AGAIN, thank goodness I did because they had no idea about the package. Yes mistakes happen but not knowing how to rectify the situation is not very good for business. I'm sure I won't get a refund for shipping and it never getting to its destination. It still services as a fully operational Post Office with a facade of the past. It still retains original desks, wall murals, hundreds of brass post office boxes. amazing woodwork and so much more. This post office is over flowing with style and pizzazz. There is plenty of on street parking in front of the post office which is free of meters. The Postal Staff here are very polite courteous and willing to assist with all aspects of postage and shipping. I have always had great service here. I give the Willow Street Branch of the US Post Office a Solid 5 Stars.

I needed to ship in one of those "if it fits it ships" boxes, so I brought my items with me. They even taped it up for me for free (I've had other POs make me buy tape!), waited while I packed it up, wrote the addresses and then they set it up for shipping. It was a great exchange and I'll definitely go back as this is just a 10 minute walk from my house.

They have PO Boxes here, you can obtain money orders here, and the usually have really nice stamps and stay up to date with newly released stamps. It is a smaller post office and while there is a little side lot, its not supposed to be used for usps customer, it is for the adjacent building and the business/customers there. There is street parking across the street and down a little bit further, with a handicap spot right out front.

When I asked for help with packaging, I was basically told I had to do it myself and showed where the boxes were with the packaging materials. I told the gentleman that I did not know if it would fit. He didn't speak very good English and told me if it didn't fit I would have to go buy a bigger box and come back! He was also having trouble with the touch screen computer he was using with the woman in front of me. I waited 10 minutes and told him, "Fine, I'll go to UPS" and walked out! Absolutely no hospitality whatsoever! I will never send packages out from there ever again! My advice, Go to UPS in Swampscott where they met me at the door and couldn't do enough to help. Naturally I pounced on the opportunity to pick it up myself because I was hype & a slave to immediacy. I called and the guy who answered was wildly patient in searching for my package which had gotten there less than 5 minutes before, and confirmed I could come grab it. I thanked him but told him I had a predicament: I have to ride my bike to get there but no chain to lock it, any suggestions. He told me to call back when I arrive and we'd figure something out. This man/angel came outside and hand delivered my packaged to me on my bike. Maybe my bar for people being helpful is cynically low but I felt this guy went out of his way just because and was super kind about the whole thang - esp during a time I imagine has gotta be more stressful than usual for the USPS.

The clerks here are always very polite knowledgeable and helpful. They always have everything you need in stock and I willing to help out weighing packages. Even though the building looks as if it was stood still and time the equipment that they use seem to be right up to date. Yet the post office does not seem capable to following this direction and I have to waste time going to post office. There is always a line. I have never spent less than 10 minutes waiting here. Even for a package pickup, which is the least time intensive action, you have to wait in the ridiculous line. Other post offices I've been to have a separate window. Not here. Unless you are enjoy waiting in line and wasting time and have no life, I highly recommend you go somewhere else for any postal services.
