The staff is extremely helpful and willing to please and go the extra mile. This is a full-service post office. Parking is on street only but there's never more than one or two people in the post office at any given time. I arrived at 7:30 AM to closed doors, which was bad enough, but by 8:00 AM, they still hadn't opened. Their excuse? 'Understaffing.' Yet, there was absolutely zero notification of this on their official website. This is a staggering level of incompetence. It's not even a question of good or bad customer service--there was literally no one there to provide it. Nearly 20 people were trapped waiting inside, all of them in a massive rush because they needed to mail their items before clocking into work. This chaotic mess is a direct result of USPS's systemic mismanagement. It is acceptable to face staffing shortages, but it is completely unacceptable to fail to update your official hours online. You mislead the public into believing you open at 6:00 AM, post a note on the wall saying 8:00 AM, and then fail to honor even that time due to a 'lack of personnel.' They have plenty of material and supplies for shipping needs. The line wasn't long. I was in and out in under 15 minutes. I think that sometimes mailing things can be a little either annoying or stressful especially if you're not 100% sure of how some services work or if you don't have an envelope, etc. However, every time I've gone to this particular mobile van, I've had a really nice experience. I put it in the slot myself for South Boston only and obviously it never got mailed so someone took the money out of the card and the card got lost somewhere and I got a returned to me empty a mess very very disappointed and this is the second time this has happened to me so now I'll have to go to Milton to mail my things because I don't trust this post office anymore the label on the card says return to sender, not delivery as addressed unable to forward. I am so angry with this post office. There has to be something done.
