When you're not in a long line, waiting, the visits here are always quick for me. Sometimes the mailman skips us at work, so I come here to drop off the packages. I also had a stamped letter. There was a long line for the Desk and there was a long line for the self-service counter. Today. The parking lot was about half empty. Exiting sometimes is a while though because of traffic. Like today. Russell was busy. I don't like the position of the drop-box because it isn't connected to the parking lot. You have to enter the street preceding the USPS. And also the opening is pretty narrow, if your package is more than three inches in width, it will not fit. read more

"Where Letters Go to Die: A Gulag Review" I arrive at 5:00 AM, expecting to be first in line. Instead, I find a queue wrapped around the building like the bread line outside a 1962 Minsk grocery store. Babushkas in housecoats. Grown men clutching Priority Mail boxes like they're smuggling defense secrets. Nobody speaks. Nobody smiles. Somewhere, a crow caws ominously. The building does not open at 8:30 AM. The building considers opening at 8:30 AM, deliberates on it internally, consults the Politburo, and then -- MAYBE -- cracks the door at 8:37, releasing a smell like a meat locker that lost power during a heat wave. I do not know what they are storing back there. I do not want to know. I suspect it predates the Cold War. Once inside, you are assigned a number and a fate. Speak out of turn, sigh too loudly, or make prolonged eye contact with an employee, and you are sent to the back of the line -- or, if the postal worker's mood is sufficiently sour that day, to what longtime patrons here simply refer to as "the Gulag Line," a mythical second queue that may or may not loop through a supply closet and back out into the parking lot. I came here today for one reason: to find out what happened to FOUR -- count them, FOUR -- letters I mailed over a month ago. Two to comrades in New Jersey. Two here in Vegas. My poor babushka has not received her money. My vendors are calling me daily, demanding payment, assuming I have simply vanished into the Nevada desert like a man who owed the wrong people money. I have become, through no fault of my own, an international letter-smuggling fugitive in the eyes of my own family. The clerk -- no name tag, obviously, they don't want to be identified by the tribunal later -- informed me with the warmth of a Siberian wind that "mail sometimes takes time" and that there was "nothing to track." Comrade, I don't need reassurance. I need Interpol. I need a forensic mail accountant. I need to know if my letters are lost, stolen, or currently being read aloud at a KGB holiday party. Pros: Excellent cardio from standing for three hours. Free character development. Cons: My rubles -- er, dollars -- are missing. So is my faith in the postal system. This is by the worst post office I've been to in the valley thus far! No matter the time nor the day, there's always a line. Why? Because they only ever have 1 person working the customer service door and 1 person working at the desk. Plus the self-service kiosk always has issues! This USPS location was an extremely frustrating experience for many reasons, but what inspired this review was the behavior of Bianca, the employee working the pickup-only counter. Her demeanor was extremely rude and dismissive. She is condescending for no particular reason and was unprofessional throughout a very basic interaction. I asked a simple question about how to obtain my mail and mailbox key after recently moving. Instead of receiving clear guidance or assistance, I was met with short, rude responses and an unwillingness to help. The tone used was inappropriate for a customer-facing role and made an otherwise routine request unnecessarily uncomfortable. Even the person behind me in line made an empathetic comment to me about how rude she was and how poor this location is, and how much she dreads coming here. This location has a lot it needs to work on. Bianca's approach to customer service reflects poorly on this location as a whole. Basic courtesy and professionalism were lacking, and it is disappointing to encounter this level of treatment when simply trying to complete standard postal business. I would strongly advise management to address this issue. They probably won't considering this place has a 1 star review rating with 600+ reviews, clearly they don't care. Sad. read more

Two of the cards were to one friend in Tulsa, Oklahoma and the other 2 were to another friend in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The zip codes were correctly noted. As of today, July 31, (and well past both birthdays), not one of the 4 has been delivered or returned to me at the return address which was also correctly placed on all 4 envelopes. Fortunately there was nothing of value in any of the envelopes, except my birthday good wishes to two 90-year old friends! Whatever happened to my cards happened to all four! Many of the complaints about this post office has to do with the long lines and the lack of staff working the counters. This is nothing new. Its an inconvenience but not the end of the world. The staff are friendly and communicate well with customers. What is concerning is the noticeable decline in overall USPS service and increase in missing or stolen mail. The LVRJ recently reported a large identity theft problem in the Las Vegas Valley. Stolen mail is a big part of it. There are a lot of new staff and more subsitute carriers, maybe some are contractors and not properly vetted. Whether the problem is with the post office or the local sorting facilities, it needs to be looked at because the scale of it has gotten too bad to ignore and the USPS has to remain a trusted source, it cannot accept stolen or lost mail as normal practice, it has to be the gold standard read more

I have been using this USPS location for years. It's always hit or miss whether it's super busy or not... sometimes there's a long line, sometimes there is not. It's unpredictable. Just arrive with a little grace and patience for the staff. The customer service here is always great, everyone's always been helpful and kind! I've shipped out so many packages and buy all my stamps here. The value can change depending on how you wish you ship the item, and if it's insured or not. They do a great job overnighting mail as well . I wish they had drop off mailboxes outside that would make it even better! Overall this is my favorite post office in Vegas. read more

Customer service needs improvement. I had to ship out a package. After printing the label at the self serve kiosk I went to the end counter. I asked politely to use some tape for the top of the package I forgot to seal. Old lady or grandma replied "you can buy tape or strips of tape". What????? Really this is America now???? Or is it at this location? Because at Summerlin post office where I always go to, they'll be gladly to lend me some tape. Never coming back! Long wait and poor service, when you get to the window the protocol is typically for the person to go in the back and get your package. Here they will take down five people's info then go back and look for all of them at the same time then call out names for your mail when they return to the window. Very inefficient and makes people wait even longer. This location always has a line and it's sometimes out the door. I'm here well after lunch and there's two staff members working the entire location. The customers aren't exactly the most pleasant to be around either as they all seem to enjoy using speakerphones. read more

Always busy here, no matter what time of day it is there is always a line. There is never any sending forms out to fill out. I always have to wait in line get the form from the cashier and wait again before sending my packages. The line to pick up mail is a constant 10 plus people waiting. The positive thing about this location is the workers. They are all so friendly and apologetic, and they really do do their best. It's not their fault half the time. I've never had issues with this post office, but I have seen their pick up line very long - glad I've never had to retrieve mail. I only gave the four stars because nobody answers the phone. I need specific stamps, and they don't always have them, so it'd be nice to know if they have them in stock before driving there and waiting in line.
