The Worst post office I have ever been to! Not only is the service slow but every person there is just rude! By far the worst service I ever received was from Jon!! He grabbed my paperwork from me as I was reading the address to fill in my label, and when I grabbed it back to complete my label.. he snatched it from me for a second time!!! Who the hell do you think you are?? He was even going to allow my box to be shipped out incorrectly. .. thank goodness I asked for the 3rd time and then he told me it was wrong. What? So he knew this and would have just let my box go out this way?? What a total jerk!! I will go out of my way to not ever go to this post office again!! This is my local post office and it basically sucks. I'll spare you the entire history of my bad experiences here, but here's the latest tale. Went there today to mail two tiny, identical size and weight, manila envelopes with cheap gift cards in them. I carefully packed them at home to save time and brought them in to buy the proper postage and be on my way. Went to the electronic postage kiosk machine because I hate waiting in line and answering 50 questions from the workers or dealing with incompetency. I went through all the touchscreens carefully and picked all the appropriate options. It told me it would be 91c to mail one letter which was perfect, but it wouldn't let me do both letters in one transaction, and doesn't take cash, so I gave up on this and went to the window. Even though I was the only customer, it took them 2 minutes to acknowledge me. The guy then weighed and examined my stuff and asked me what was inside (none of his business, but I gave him an honest enough answer so he could ring it up properly). He then told me it would be $2.32, and I said oh but the machine said it's 91c, so that would be the cost to mail both right? He said YES, that's for BOTH. The POS touchscreen at the counter showed another option for $1.14, but he said that didn't apply to mine because it had something rigid inside. I'm like OK whatever, if it's for both then no biggie. He proceeds to put a $2.32 label on ONE of the envelopes and then I realize this guy has no idea what he is talking about but he's already proceeded and there's no going back now. He then looks at me with a straight face and says, that'll be $4.64. I won't even look at him at this point and just give over my money, having now been charged more than double what the actual postage should've been, and basically lied to. Couldn't get out of there fast enough at that point! The hours are a joke too. I can never remember any other post office that closes at 4:30, which means you'll probably have to leave at least 45 minutes early if you want to mail anything before the end of the day. The fact that this tiny inadequate hole serves nearly half of Irvine, a city of over 250,000 people, is ridiculous. And the Sand Canyon post is actually slightly closer to me, but my mail goes through here so I'm still required to drive to this place to pick up mail and other stuff for reasons I'll never understand. Bottom line: USE THE KIOSK IF YOU CAN. AVOID THE PEOPLE AT THE WINDOW. read more

The saving grace of this entire office are the two Asian women who work there. The overweight caucasian employees were rude, unhelpful, and seemed to hate their jobs. I politely asked the man which label I needed, and he acted like I was disturbing him, even though there was no one else in line! I'm sorry I didn't take classes in postage, but don't try to make me feel stupid for asking a simple question. Then when I couldn't find the one I needed, he spoke to me like I was deaf and slow, and acted like I was a complete idiot. And then when I got to the counter and needed two extra seconds to finish taping my box, the lady rudely told me up move to another table. No, I couldn't just slide over... no, there was still no one else in line...I just needed to get out of her face. Other people seemed to receive the same treatment, and we all kept looking at each other horrified. I don't mean it's just a race thing, but I can't remember all four employees' names. The Asian woman who helped me with my passport last week was very helpful and patient, and she took the time to answer my questions. The other Asian woman who wears glasses was extremely sweet to me after being rudely treated by the overweight employees, and she didn't act annoyed at all with my presence. They deserve to be managing this place, since they actually seemed to take pride in their jobs and ate much more knowledgeable as well. I'm generally intelligent, have a college degree, and own a business...so I know I'm not the compete idiot that the aforementioned employees seemed to think I am. But even if I was, there's no excuse to treat another human being like that, especially if there's no one else to help out. I would fire my employee if they treated customers like that. read more

I feel kind of odd reviewing a freaking post office, but if there was such a thing as an upscale post office, this would be it. Beautiful building, drive through mailbox, smiling staff, efficient work flow, separate purchasing area for things like envelopes/wrapping, etc. Only thing that would make this place better is if they provided customers with tape in the self service area. Had to buy tape to close up a package, which was slightly annoying. read more

I go to the post office very often because we work from home. This post office is down the street from my house but I promise you that I will never ever go here again. Yes its very clean and barely crowded, however, these people don't go above and beyond for their customers. These are the slowest bunch of clerks I have ever seen at any post office.....period. The floor supervisor would rather stock boxes then help customers when the post office was busy. Sometimes he walks around and asks us if we have any questions. No! I don't have any questions I need you to get behind the counter and start helping customers. If any of you are being assisted by the blonde lady with short hair....I feel sorry for you. As I stand there and wait for my # to be called she rudely says to me "are you ready"?? I was thinking to myself, of course I am ready, but I am just waiting for you to call my #. Why would they make me take a number but not call it? I don't get it. She proceeds to tell me that I need to do this and do that, but funny thing is I never have this problem at any other post office just at this one. I tried mailing a package that I prepaid for and when she weighed it she told me I didn't pay enough. So i took the package and went home. I didn't know (until my husband told me) that I can actually pay for extra postage when I was at the post office because that lady didn't bother to tell me. read more

The short of it: - hidden location, spacious - plenty of parking - has a self-serve post office machine The long of it: This is probably the best post office that I've been to, pretty clean, nice landscaping, nice building, etc. It's inside a neighborhood so you can't see it off the main street. I think thats what makes this a hidden gem, maybe a lot of people don't know about it so that helps with the crowds and parking situation. I absolutely love that it has a self service machine here. Makes it so much easier and faster and I don't have to deal with grumpy postal workers. You can essentially do all your mailing needs at the self-serve machine, it weighs letters, packages, prints out stamps, asks you if you want to add insurance, etc. This machine only accepts credit/debit cards. Whenever I come here no one is using the self-serve machine, everyone is always standing in line. I guess that's good for me then! read more

I have to say this is one of the most efficient and effective Post Offices I've ever used!! Since moving in the area this is my closest location (sometimes Sand Canyon if I'm on that side of town) but this is my go to spot! They actually have enough employees working at each register! Plus they open the side cashier where you can buy strictly stamps and packing supplies without waiting in the main line! I don't know what the management does here to keep it running so smooth but I've never had any problems at all! The staff actually greets me and doesn't act like cold robots unlike certain locations I've been to in the OC! You never wait more than 10 minutes in line even with complicated shipping transactions, this location runs smooth like a well oiled machine! Even the pick-up window where you wait to retrieve packages they offer to help and ship off packages for you! I've never seen anything like this before and it amazes me every time I step foot inside! Nice post office. Last time I went, there were tons of people waiting but only three Post Office employees doing their job. Well, I don't know if they were actually doing their job or what but it seemed like every person that stepped up to the post office people needed to have some tiny item put in a box. Do it your damn self...jeez. I was next in line and they had to help some lady who was standing by the passport window. Dislike. Sure the hours are fairly limited, but with a drive-by mailbox and a self-service machine you can mail things 24/7. Who needs postal workers when you can do it all yourself? From an aesthetic point of view, this is one of the nicest post offices around - well maintained, nice neighborhood location, and plenty of parking. My one suggestion is that they should install another self-service machine. If you arrive early - before the manned post office is open - there can be a line at the machine and if you are stuck behind an eBay person shipping a dozen different boxes of tchotchkes and knick-nacks you could be in for a long wait. read more

I wanted to ask her if she even cared about getting my business or knew anything about customer service. I have ordered items from Amazon. Usps said parcel room of my apartmeny is full so they take items back to their post office. I have to pick up items myself to avoid redelivery, which can cause same situation. But officer said I didn't bring Id to prove I live in that address. Here's why USPS can't make money: the workers have zero common sense. If you want to encourage people to pack their items at home rather than waste time at the postal office asking if they can borrow packing tape to holding up the line because they don't have the address written properly on items then create a separate line for those who did do all of the above. I had my box packed, wrapped, taped, and labeled already by paying online. Those who did this should be able to get a quick scan and receipt; it takes them less than 5 seconds. I don't want to risk just dropping my box off inside a bin. I want to be able to get the box scanned in and given a confirmation receipt. I do this because of a past experience where I dropped my box off and for two weeks it was not scanned into the system with no movement. Big mistake and I learned. Instead, they want us to wait in a line among people who have boxes opened and not ready to be sent. This line also runs outside the entrance. Sadly this review will do nothing because it's a government organization that just doesn't care and rewards laziness and incompetency. They are totally fine with dealing with people who don't have their stuff together than those who do. Out of curiosity to see if this is an issue in other places, looked it up online and it seems like this is a general USPS issue where workers argue with you about scanning and giving a receipt rather than saving everyone's time and just take the few seconds to do it. They believe a prepaid label with tracking is enough. Not sure if they are that idiotic but no a tracking number is not the same. That tracking number is useless until it's scanned into the system. In addition, having a receipt in case my stuffs gets lost or stolen is the best proof to have. read more

Im surprised no one has yelped about this post office yet. maybe i shouldn't yelp it so it stays empty. hehe. i used to go to the post office on sand canyon but that post office is waaay too packed. and i will not go to the one at uci/campus. that one sux balls. it's small and PACKED. but this little one hidden away in the residential area of northpark is juuuust right. it's close to my house and never crowded. the only time i've ever seen it packed was during the holidays but now it's slow again. love it! the clerks are all super nice. some i recognize they had transferred from the sand canyon office. the only downfall of this post office is that they open later 8:30am and close earlier than sand canyon. weekdays they close at 4:30pm. sat they open at 10am and close at 1pm. just wanted to give a shout out to my post office of choice. =) read more

Like other post offices, this branch functions as a drop-off point. The staff is much nicer than the Sand Canyon branch even when I say or do something awkward or clumsy and I have not misunderstood anything that their staff has said so far. Unlike the other two branches, this location only has one automated stamp-dispensing machine and it's usually being used by someone. They have slightly fewer cashiers available (in comparison to the Sand Canyon branch) so it takes a little bit longer to wait for a cashier during afternoon tea hours, but no one ever seems to walk in with a bucket full of packages that need postage, so it's comparably faster than a busy location. There is always a lot of parking, and there are a lot of trees next to a brick wall in comparison to the other two branches mentioned so one's other members of one's party can sit in the car with shade while one goes inside, instead of being cooked like at the other two locations (of course, best to be leaving the air conditioning on, it's not like it reduces the temperature). Few park on that specific side of the parking lot, so one will have all the shade to themselves. Their retail section closes at 4:30 PM, which is earlier than most others in the area, but their outside mailbox (singular) is labeled slightly later than that. Their express mail cutoff is 2PM. read more

He did not take the time to communicate efficiently when I had questions, gave me incorrect information and dismissed me when I asked for clarification. What was the most frustrating was he told me I was wrong and that I had to just deal with it. I felt very disrespected. read more

I am the brilliant one who purposely parks in the other aisle, at the very end. When I leave, no pedestrians nor vehicles to slow me down. Have to say, though, that left turn is so blind it's not even cool. There's typically a greeter when I drop by, and they are cool at directing the flow of customers. Just experienced terrible customer service! Discrimination at its best is what I experienced. Too bad I didn't get her name. But she was working inside by package drop off. She is either Hispanic or white, with short dark hair pulled up with blonde highlights. Her window/door was open and all I asked was if an appointment was needed for passport application. She gave me a smirky look and said I needed to wait in line to ask a question. Wow! A simple Yes or No would suffice. But instead you decided to respond in a demeaning way. I come to the post office once daily, sometimes twice a day with a minimum of 10 packages. Lately when I have been going, they have not been putting our flat rate boxes for customers. So today when I arrived, I went into the post office and again, there were no boxes out, not a single one. I walked up to the counter to ask for some, specifying that I need small ones. The lady behind the counter grabbed a small box, showing me to verify the size. I said yes, I need the small ones and I need about 10. She put the box back (on the huge stack of flat rate boxes behind the counter) and said to me, "you need 10? Get in line". I was dumbfounded that she couldn't take 15 seconds to reach behind her and give me the 10 boxes I requested (that are always supposed to be out, for customers to take). Needless to say, if you are looking for a friendly, pleasant experience, avoid this establishment at all costs. read more

Original review: The female brunette supervisor, Delfina, is not qualified nor willing to resolve customer issues. She will not do anything she says she'll do, and she will withhold information from you until you start pressing her with questions. If you don't constantly monitor what she is doing, she will make it seem as if she tried to do something. She does not know how to mediate any issues and would rather dismiss you as she hides in the backroom, waiting until you leave. A couple of other employees there, however, definitely have a genuine willingness to help. They've done more to help resolve an issue in half an hour than Delfina "did" in the 6 hours I've checked up on her. read more

If you want a long wait for counter service, this is the place to come. There are four stations, but yesterday only one was open for the first half hour of operation even though there were more than 10 customers in line when I arrived. Finally a second window opened, but it still took over 30 minutes to get to it. Rarely have I been here during operating hours when the wait is shorter than 30 minutes. Now that COVID is supposedly still happening, most of the line is outside, so don't come in the heat of the day unless you want to swelter. The only redeeming feature here, is that the lobby is still open until late at night and on Sundays, when so many other POs that used to be open most off hours are completely locked up. When the new automated machines were installed a few years ago, they scarcely worked and everything had to be punched in over and over to get any result. Uhhh, what is this place. I stopped by yesterday to send a few packages but I knew I was going to use the automated postage machine anyway, so I'm not sure why I was rushing to get there. The self-service lobby is open 24 hours anyway! And it's equipped with lots of flat rate boxes, is well lit, clean, and well-maintained. I normally go to the Sand Canyon post office when I'm in Irvine, but my mom just notified me of this one which is much closer. Checked it out today and am way pumped for this post office. First of all, like the other reviewer said - they got the R2D2 drive up boxes installed. That's cool, fun, timeless, etc. Walked inside and the place was empty. The sand canyon post office has taken me up to 45 minutes-1hr to deliver a package. This was in and out. Awesome. read more

So this is my local post office but it is a pain to get to. I work behind this post office in the commerce buildings, but there is NO way for me to walk to it. El Camino would pass right by it if it went all the way thru, but because of the gated community you can't do that. The really nice thing I have to say is that it is completely empty!! Due to the COVID19 mandates my office has been force closed. I'm also a mom & currently homeschooling a child who isn't able to go to school. In the past I never had to rely on a scheduled residential pick up. However due to the changes I am now heavily depending on USPS to come & pick up my mail. As a responsible customer I went online to schedule a pick up. Usually they pick up when they drop off the mail. Unfortunately today & a few other days that wasn't the case. These idiots never look at their pick up lists or care to pick up anyone's mail. I have even paid $20 for them to pick up at a specific time & they never cane. I called the station & spoke to the RUDE MANAGER! I know who she us because she's the bat shit crazy one that I usually see yelling at customers in the station. Well apparently she's rude over the phone too. This psycho started making up excuses for the carrier who never picked up my outgoing mail today. She said unfortunately it's a new person on the route & they may not get to it. Are you flipping kidding me? That wasn't acceptable. I told her that this is for my business & my mail has to go out today. She literally yelled at me & hung up the phone. Then I tried to call back .....she purposely didn't answer. I'm filing a complaint against her & writing a letter to file a complaint against her. Enough is enough. She can't keep treating customers like garbage. If you're unhappy with your job....get a new one. Be grateful you have a job right now. People are loosing their jobs right now due to COVID19. You ungrateful b*tch! read more

This post office is so unorganized and messy. I have sent so many packages through this post office and they always either go to the wrong address or they are lost. Whenever I report this issue to the post office they don't take any responsibility and don't even bother to fix my problem. Don't waste your time here.
