I don't often leave reviews for places so just know that you all really STINK. No matter what time or what day you go here, it is always packed to the gills with people. It is the slowest moving line in existence. This location routinely refuses to deliver the dog food that I order through amazon. Its a 41lb bag of dog food and you are a DELIVERY COMPANY. Every job requirement in the United States of America requires its employees to be able to move 50 lbs (I sit at a desk all day and I am required to be able to move 50 lbs); you are a DELIVERY COMPANY REFUSING TO DELIVER a 41lb box. What the heck is wrong with you? I am able bodied and can come waste an hour of time waiting to pick up a box that should be delivered to my doorstep, but what if I was a disabled person? I paid $25 to have something sent signature required and took the day off work to be available on the delivery date. If I could give different ratings for different employees, I absolutely would -- because this location was a tale of two completely opposite customer service experiences. My kids and I came in around 3:30 PM and waited our turn like everyone else. While in line, we watched one employee, Monica, dealing with a very loud customer who was saying all kinds of things that clearly frustrated her. I get it -- difficult customers happen. But the problem was how it affected our interaction afterward. When it was our turn, Monica immediately seemed irritated. She asked if I was "sending this to Korea?" and then looked me and my kids up and down in a way that felt unnecessary and uncomfortable. She then proceeded to unwrap my already‑sealed package and tell me I needed to buy USPS "approved" tape -- something I hadn't seen mentioned on the USPS website. Still, I complied, bought the tape, and repackaged everything. We went back in line hoping we'd get the other worker, Michael, who had been smiling and friendly the whole time. No luck -- we got Monica again. As I set the package down, she suddenly asked, "Did you try to hit me with your box?" I was honestly stunned. I explained I only had one hand free and definitely did not hit her. Instead of accepting that, she insisted I "tried" to hit her and refused to help me any further. She then passed my package to Michael, who was polite, helpful, and even gave me tips for shipping to Korea more cost‑effectively in the future. The contrast between the two employees was huge. Michael deserves 5 stars -- friendly, calm, and professional. Monica... not so much. My kids even asked, "Why is that lady so mean?" I had to jump through a million hoops and go through the window multiple times just to mail a package. Bring tape, they won't even give you an inch. You go to the post office in Ohio and you feel like you are dealing with a human being that actually has a soul and treats you like a person. You go here and you feel like you are dealing with a hostile alien from another planet. No wonder the post office is failing. There was only one person working. I was trying to get a change of address and mail forwarding confirmed. The lady had no idea what she was doing. I have changed addresses from LA to OC and all they needed was a mail showing that I used to live there. Irvine was making a very difficult to have my mail address changed. They were requesting very formal documents like a mortgage or Trust from my old address. Previously, when I have changed addresses, they have never asked for this private type of document. An old mail or shipment package with my old address should suffice. The lady was trying to follow protocol, but the protocol did not make any sense at all given that one of the addresses I was trying to forward from was a PO Box. Legally, I cannot have any mortgage or Trust sent to a PO Box also the PO Box was only active for a few months so I do not have access to any of the mail now. How am I supposed to change my mailing address? I'm going to another USPS that can actually help. read more

The service at this location has really improved. Many of the employees are very experienced and have told me ways to SAVE money on shipping costs. At first, the lady asked if I had an appointment for one person. I told her that I had my young son with me, but I accepted to apply for him separately. She took the documents and then told me that I couldn't apply for him separately. Then she said she didn't have time, but if the next person was late, they might accept us. We filled out the forms, but then she started asking very personal and irrelevant questions. In the end, she said she would send the documents, but that he wouldn't be issued a passport. This post office is located in the best real estate area in the heart of the City of Irvine to serve the growing population; however, the location just doesn't fill the bigger issue of poor services and lackluster customer care inherent in the public sector specifically tax dependent and heavily subsidized mammoth like DMV and US postal service. Most of the tellers are decent folks waiting for the retirement, the unseen mail sorter had done some great disservice by stealing mailed check and passing it off to the criminal partner who forged my signature on a rather large check and cashed it using a Long Beach Based Naval Credit Union! I went through the Postal Inspector's Office and the official reporting process a year ago and still haven't heard from the dysfunctional federal government's broken branch. There is an Asian male clerk whose head is so big its a wonder how he got it through the door coming to work! He speaks with arrogance well beyond his knowledge and abilities. I brought a soft cover book my daughter authored and had printed. Stood in line to mail it "third class printed matter rate". Male clerk took a look and stated it doesnt not qualify for third class bc it was advertising! Nowhere in this book is there a single ad! He then weighed it and told me the cost for first class mail. I asked him about priority mail and he said it can go by priority. He told me to get a priority envelope in the lobby but I told him the lobby was out of priority envelopes. I've had some pretty poor experiences with the mail delivery in Irvine from this office but my latest experience highlights that this place needs better management. They falsely claimed that they delivered my package to a parcel locker, but nothing came so I opened a re-delivery case + also by phone with very specific info denoting what had happened. They then lied on the notification saying it had been re-delivered to a parcel locker so I called up again and asked if they could please re-deliver. Then I found out today that my item had been returned to the sender... WTF!!! My take is they never attempted a re-delivery and decided it was not worth their energy and returned the package to sender. Staff is friendly and keeps the line moving. It's a newer post office, which is fine, but it would be better if it wasn't such a boring, cookie-cutter design. Post offices in the past had a classic design and had the atmosphere of being in an important place. I was at the Sand Canyon post office in Irvine (which is generally good except for a faulty machine I used lately that resulted in a package being returned to me for more postage -- only time that ever happened with mail I sent from machines there) yesterday (Sunday), and the lobby was closed. It used to be that the lobby was left open so you could conduct business with automated services after hours. The outdoor box was so full of mail that you could literally see the mail coming out of the top. This is ridiculous, especially at Christmas time. If crime is of concern, they should invest in cameras and keep the lobby open. read more

I was in there today 11/25/25 right at 4:28 (they close at 4:30) just to pick up two boxes and a tracking label from the self-serve area and the short little Indian man that works there jumped out of nowhere and yelled at me that they were closed. He was so rude it actually startled me. I explained to him that I wasn't mailing anything and I just needed to grab a tracking sticker and two boxes. The place was still full of people so me grabbing a few supplies would not have taken more than one minute. It was all from the self-serve area so i have no idea why he yelled at me like that. You know you're adult when you have a favorite Post Office. I will go out of my way to go here over the others in the area and I have no shame in proclaiming that. For starters the parking lot is spacious, tons of parking and there's actually room to pull in and out of parking spots without worrying about hitting another car that is driving by. (What a concept). They have a pretty wide lane designated for drop off in the mailbox as well. No more worrying about curbing your rims on a narrow turn - win! I also appreciate that they will lock the box for long weekends - for your mail safety obviously but that doesn't mean you won't be able to drop off your mail. They partition part of the front office that includes the self service machine, a drop off for packages and two others for mail. I have found that things move along fairly quickly here which is very much appreciated! The other morning I brought my son to submit his passport information. We arrived to our appointment about 10 minutes early and we were done and out of there in less than 5 minutes. Just a heads up things move quickly if you have all the docs prefilled out and you bring the necessary copies, if you forget to copy something they can do for you - but at a charge. Also side note make sure you tape up your packages cuz they'll charge you for a bit of tape as well. Lastly, this needs to be said - stop blaming Postal Workers for things that are out of their control. It is not their fault that you chose to wait until the Thursday before a holiday to send out a package and then get angry that shipping costs are high or there is a delay in delivery times. Yelling at the Postal Worker isn't going to change anything. I have seen the workers here deal with verbal harassment on more than one occasion and they take it in stride and patience. A few things to note: - This Post Office doesn't always pop up on the GPS, so make sure you scan the map for it. - Take advantage of the self service machine - although things move pretty quickly here it's even faster to just use the machine. You can buy stamps and prepay for packages there - in and out in a jiffy! - They also have a large collection bin for stamped packages in the lobby if you don't need to track just toss in and be on your way. - If you need passport services make sure to book an appointment online ahead of time. read more

However, when I brought my package containing a lithium battery sticker, they said usps would not ship it out. But I looked online and it said It was allowed if it was built in the device. So I took off the sticker and told them there was a battery and the second time. There was no issues and I was able to send the package. Unfortunately, this is the usps close to me, so I do go here often when I need something and don't have time to drive a bit further out. But wow, never again after my recent interaction which shows that nothing has changed here. Regardless of a package being sent internationally or domestically, they ALWAYS give you an attitude, like "why are you sending so many things?" Or "are you sending used items or new?" Umm... are you for real? It's none of your business. Are you in customs? They have had us list every item for them in the customs forms such as "1 scifi book, titled .." and "1 history book, titled .." instead of listing just "2 books". And funny thing is, either way we do it, they still ask us to change it to the other. Like, why did you not list each book specifically or why did you list each book specifically?! And when we list everything, they always roll their eyes at us and make unapproving noises! We've tried talking to the manager multiple times but no luck. I've even filed a report with USPS but they didn't tend to it. One person, specifically, always behaves like a child! If she decides to help me, she always asks irrelevant questions or keeps huffing or puffing as she's doing the paperwork as if she hates her job, or in some instances, even leaves her desk in the middle of her work. I'm not even joking. I try to avoid her if I can. Last time, she left for like 20 mins and I was just standing there confused! The employees should be trained and trained and then retrained! Worst post office that I've ever been to. These idiots keep a red lock box on their blue drop off mail box 24/7 to where you are forced to park, get out of the car, and drop off your mail inside. Best part is if you're an adult working normal 8-5 hours they make it physically impossible to drop off any mail because their drop off mail box is locked at all times. For my business, we have a lot of requirements that involve a high level of service and in that regard, the staff here are great. I may come in and need to do a massive Proof Of Mailing or I may need to buy $5,000 worth of stamps. It's an easy in and out and the people who work here have always been nice and helpful.
