This post office is HORRIBLE. They won't answer their phone even if you let it ring 100 times. Their drop box next to the automated postage machine in the lobby you cannot open - it's broken, and it's been broken for many months. I've notified them many times about this and they simply won't do anything about it. The counter help just doesn't care. This post office is the worst I've been living at my residence for over 2 years and I've been having difficulty with my mail. I live in a duplex and there's times where I get my mail delivered to the front. I recently did my income tax and I had my check stolen I have high believe that it was a mail carrier because she told me once that somebody got fired for stealing checks. The service at the line is terrible there is times where the line is over 20 people and there's only one person at the window. I spoke to the window manager John Lee and he told me to put a vacation hold on my mail because it was being stolen I just walked in there and they said that I can do that. Must be the worst post office. All the staffs are extremely slow and rude. They all act like they are doing favors for all the customers. I only live a mile away from this post office. The lady at the first window is completely rude and so is the man manager at the time, dropped off a UPS package by accident and ups doesn't have it! Then the time waiting in line to get served at the postal window won't seem so long. Once at the window you will know exactly how long you had to wait in line by your stop-watch. I have never had a bad experience going to this post office... and I have been going here for over 30 years. Yes it's an inconvenience that they took out the drive through mail boxes and locking down the facility after hours, but that was due to mail thefts. I grew up in this area and this post office has always been horrible. The employees are rude and they never pick up the phone when you call them. The only reason why i go to this post office because its convenient but the service is horrible. I walked into this post office watching the two asian workers arguing for an hour. I was the second in line and it takes half an hour to get out. Just because the lady doesnt know what she was doing and i've been there more than 20 times, she should know the routine of international shipping. Her name is Kim she's asian and has blonde hair. She looks crazy and nice but super rude and doesnt pay attention to detail. So if you're there try to avoid her. In fact all the workers are the same way. The parking here is terrible. The lot is too small and it's very busy! However, the staff have always been pleasant to me during my trips there. I like this post office, it's fairly clean and air-conditioned. They have so many Post office boxes and there seems to be 3 windows opened at a time(like most Post Offices). I'm glad I found this place. Now online the www.usps.gov page for this location says, 24 hours. However, when I last visited here there was a "New Hours" sign on the door. I forgot to read it. This is probably the worst post office I have been to and unfortunately I have to make weekly trips here and argue with the counter ladies about my mail not being delivered. I recently moved to a new construction community and my mail was not being delivered due to the area being under construction which I completely understood. Once the construction was over my mail was still not being delivered so I went to the post office and asked for my mail like usual. EVERYTIME I go the horrible customer service ladies argue with me about how they have never held mail there and that they would don't do that unless it's a vacation hold. I keep having to explain that yes you have held my mail and if you would go check you will see my mail is there. I have had different people out right refuse to even check to see if my mail is there and another lady who argued with me about my mail being put on hold in the first place. I don't go there to argue, I go there to pick up my mail and brave the lines that I shouldn't have to because my mail should be delivered now but for some reason the courier can't get it right. This crappy customer service mentality is the reason people are paying their bills online and doing e bill statements. Who wants to deal with this mess when they don't have to?? This post office is very infuriating in trying to get ahold of by phone. It takes many times calling before someone picks up and sometimes when it's picked up there's no one there and it just hangs up. When it's an actual person who picks up they will leave you on hold for a minimum of 30 minutes. They also don't keep appointments with people to help solve problems with mail delivery problems. Gardena USPS has once again failed to actually deliver my packages. They claim to and mark the orders as "delivered" but I never receive them. Most recently this week my package was nowhere to be found yet the carrier claims to have "thrown the package over the balcony"--( I don't have a balcony). This is absolutely unacceptable & the carrier should be fired for their incompetence. I filed a complaint and am waiting on the representative to resolve my issue. **Update*** I had emailed a complaint online on the USPS website yesterday and the representative called me today and told me my issue should be resolved within a few days. The carrier personally knocked on my door today and delivered my package! Which should have been done INITIALLY. He apparently delivered it to the wrong address. Not sure how he got the package back. The package was also halfway opened however all the items where there. Anyhow, glad I got my package & shoutout to Josephine Bravo customer service representative for helping me resolve the issue. If anyone has this issue or similar it works to be proactive if I didn't file a detailed complaint online I would've lost out on money and my items! read more

I had a bad experience this post office today. Some of the clerks are nice, but I met the worst clerk who name is Ms. Kim today. She put big pink flower on her head looks little crazy, but I was right she was really crazy hysterical woman. Anyway after she told me the price, I tried to swipe my card. Ms. Kim was yelling at me "wait!!!" I said "excuse me?" Ms. Kim yelled at me "I said wait!! you've been waiting a long line you don't even listen what I said. Customer don't like to wait!" I couldn't believe what she said to me...I did't even swipe my card yet and it's not big deal anyway. I told her "Firstble I don't like your way to talk to me. Watch your voice tone." Our Mailman Delivered a small padded envelope for me today. Except it was empty. It should have contained a 32 gig micro SD card from Sandisk. But had a nice slit on the bottom of the envelope, enough to get the cardboard back out. I know it was an employee who cut it open when sorting for the mail carrier. I can't give this Post Office any stars because it's just that bad. Recently new to the area. My first impression was that this place is disgusting as they had ANTS crawling all on the counter where customers are being serviced. Secondly, after moving into my new apartment I realized that I needed keys from the post office to get my mail. After going to the Gardena Post office on Redondo Beach Blvd. and putting my name on a list they told me someone would call me in 3 days so I can pick up my key. 6 days later, no call and so I took off work to go there and my name was on the same list with nothing being done. Luckily for me the maintenance man happened to be there and he met me at my apartment and changed the keys. I had mail in box for two weeks! I gave him $20 cash and he left. Last week I had a USPS ticket saying I had a certified letter at the post office that I needed to go pick up! I went there on Saturday to a ridiculous line only to finally get up front for them to tell me that they couldn't find it!!!!!! The lady behind the window assured me that her manager would call me in a couple hours. I'm still waiting......two days later. THE WORST US Post Office EVER!!!!! read more

They were unable to deliver 1 of 2 packages in a single day? How can one package get delivered and the other be undeliverable with the identical same address? After more than an hour on the phone, there was still no resolution to the problem. I really with it was possible to give a 0 star rating! My mail was delivered at 10:30pm on Wed night, by a carrier with a light strapped to his head. What in the world is wrong with USPS? Whenever my regular carrier goes on vacation, the problems start. Usually carriers at least get to the house before 7pm. Once they came at 8pm. This particular time they beat all records. A few times in the past 5 years they never showed up at all for anyone on the block. Those times were not holidays. . It is impossible to contact anybody to complain, as USPS doesn't have a good customer service hotline. (It closes by 5:30 Pacific Time). I have emailed several complaints. No response. They have left notices that I wasn't home and that I have to pick up packages at the local Gardena Post Office, when in fact I was home, my spouse was home, and they just didn't want to deliver them.... Here is a normal trip to this post office...I go to pick up my package, after having to park down the block due to lack of parking in the Post Office lot, I get in line. There are multiple windows, with only one person working them. There are at least 10 people in line, 5 of which hardly speak English and want money orders. Two or three Postal Employees are walking back and forth behind the window, not making eye contact with the customers and doing nothing. When you finally get to the window there is a 50/50 chance the Postal employee will be rude. I never spend less than 20 minutes in line, no matter what day I go. There is no working Kiosk as you find in Torrance. No priority boxes available in the lobby, and the place is run down. It needs to be demolished and a new facility built, with properly trained employees and more parking. I am beginning to really, REALLY, dislike all government workers. . So many of them are rude, lazy, entitled, and stupid. It is amazing anything get's done at all. This is the worst rating I have ever given a business and it is well-deserved. On January 4th, I decided to mail a gift to my sister who lives 140 miles from the Gardena Post Office. The gentleman at the front counter, was very personable and professional. I told him that I wanted to ship the package as quickly as possible as it was a replacement for a Christmas gift that failed to function. He stated that since the destination was in such close proximity, there would be no need to ship it Express Mail for over $20 when Priority Mail at a cost of $6.40 would arrive in the same amount of time. Priority Mail receives special handling and also includes $50 worth of insurance. I opted for Priority Mail and that's where the fun began. I checked with my sister and two days after I mailed the package, she had failed to receive it. She tracked the package and even though she had a tracking number, the USPS website stated "Status Not Available." Since the Gardena branch office is open until 7:00pm and is close to my job, I decided to stop by and explain my dilemma. The supervisor told me that he could not locate my package. I guess the packages ship out of LA and they showed the package arriving there but they could not determine the present location. They had no idea when the package would arrive. The supervisor explained that Priority Mail has no guaranteed arrival time. I agreed but I explained that his employee explained to me that my package would arrive the next day and he had actually talked me into utilizing that method of transporting my package. I was shocked that they could not locate my package as I am employed in the transportation field and having the ability to track packages is a necessity. The supervisor also explained to me that they handled hundreds of thousands of items a day, etc. I agreed, but I explained to him that his organization employs over 600,000 persons most of whom do nothing but handle mail. Today, seven days later, the USPS tracking site states the same "Status Not Available." and my sister just called to say she received the package. All I can say is the Information Technology System for the USPS is in dire need of improvement. Giving a customer a tracking number that does not allow you to track your package, calling a method of transporting your package, "Priority Mail" when it is anything but prioritized, and then having the audacity to tell a customer that you have no idea of the location of their package, to me is "felony dumb." If the destination of your mailed item is one hundred miles or less, I would suggest hiring a runner as a person can walk one hundred miles quicker than your mail can be transported by the U.S. Postal Service. read more

Terrible service. Had some boxes shipped to me. Only two packages arrive. One was missing. I called multiple times and got a woman telling me she checked and the package wasn't back there even though it was tracked back there. After about a week or two I called back. There response was, wasn't there even though it had been tracked to that location. I physically went up there and talked to a manager. Told her the situation. She checks in the back and there's my box. Smashed to pieces, contents falling out. I asked how come I wasn't notified or why wasn't there something put in the system that I had to come pick it up. There was no response she was just as clueless as I was. It's a shit show on all levels. I don't blame the manager. However they're running their system is shitty. I had another incident where they had marked a package as delivered and I'm calling the apple store looking for my product when it was delivered two days later. When I talked to a manager she said she would get down to it. I'm sure nothing happened. If you have something valuable, don't send it through USPS, pay a little extra to make sure your items are delivered. read more

You'd be hard pressed to find a worse run post office than this one. I go to the post office 2 or 3 times a week. I used to visit and have P.O. Boxes at 2 other locations - both in the valley. Both of those offices were well run. Unfortunately I got a P.O. box at this location before I knew how badly it was run. Some of the clerks are good. I feel badly that they get so much abuse from their incompetent bosses and the brunt of the hostility from the customers. One of the clerks is an absolute rude ass. I got into a shouting match with him a few months back. I hate incompetence. You can forget ever seeing or talking to the post master there. He/She is never there. The cowardly supervisors always stay in the back and don't come out. Some years ago they installed bullet proof glass at this office. Story goes they actually had an armed robbery there years ago. Well, now I think it's there to keep the clerks safe from the customers. Ha! Imagine that, a customer "going postal". Sometimes there is only one clerk and a long line of customers, but there's plenty of clerks in the back hiding and not working. There's always one clerk available for pickups, but most of the time they don't need that clerk. He could be doing that and processing customers,, but noooo... that would be the competent way to run that office. The latest for me is they put a lock on my p.o. box which I paid for one week before the deadline. This is the second time it's happened. I never had that problem with my previous po boxes. It's one week later and the asses still have a lock on my po box. Who the Hell do you have to go to to have this office audited? Someone else needs to take over this post office. Someone competent. For those that have to use this office the reason there is no longer a drive thru box outside is that criminals were stealing the mail, then taking checks - washing them - then putting a much larger dollar amount and then cashing them. It's also the reason the parking lot is a mess. Everyone has to go inside to mail something. Then when they got rid of the box outside the criminals came inside late at night and were stealing the mail out of inside drop box. Then the office changed the hours and now closes at 8PM and does not stay open all night. You can now only drop letter size in the drop box. The larger package drop got closed up. read more

On 5/26/15 I dropped off a package to be mailed, now usually when I've went to other post offices they would scan the shipping label and give me a receipt, but the guy that helped me must've been too lazy to scan the package and give me my receipt, to make a long story short I might have to miss making the money from the eBay item I should because I'm unable to track the package, and to add injury to insult when I called the customer help phone number, the lady told me that if have to wait 5 days before I could do something, so I'm going to probably lose money because this asshole was too lazy to get off of his ass and do his job, if you're an eBay seller avoid this place by all costs, I wanted to give a no star rating because I don't feel that this location even deserves a 1 star rating. read more
