This post office has horrible customer service and delivery service. This is the second time i was suppose to receive a package and both times it says "delivery attempted but no access" this is ridiculous because there are two entry's to my apt building. I went to the post office and asked them why does this happen and one lady said "if it's late and unsafe then they won't go in" mind you, the delivery attempt was at 10 am. Also, why did she ASSUME that where i lives was unsafe. I will be making a compliant to corporate because they are completely unprofessional. All I could see when I first walked into this post office was a broom, a gallon of bleach, hot soapy water, a rag and a big bottle of window cleaner---this joint was a total mess. Floors grimy, trash all over the floors, and the counters and windows with visible dirt. The line was backed up almost out the door but it's open till 5pm on Saturdays which gave it a +. Why everybody bitchin , it's the government , I went on a Saturday , sure they don't answer the phone the line was 7 people the most it took less than 5 minutes to be done , also the lady asked if I want priority or signatures required and so on she took time to answer my inquiry . I've never had a problem here other than parking and getting in and out of the lot. Yeah, they aren't the most friendly bunch, but they do try to get you taken care of as best they can. The line moves fairly fast and you can't fault the workers because I've never seen them not being busy with the customers. The best thing is that this is the main post office, so when you send something out...it gets there very fast. I also use the Crenshaw PO and things take a day or so longer, I think because it then goes to the main PO before it is on its way. read more

Ever since they took out the drive-up drop off center I feel as if this place took a turn for the worse! Every time I come in here I see an argument between customer and worker... Never fails lol. We have not received mail for 14 days. No one will meet with us to discuss it. Amazon said all of our packages are being returned back to them by USPS. CVS said my medication was delivered and in the post office's hands but they say the postal lady has it. She hasn't delivered it and they're not punishing her for it. I also have very important letters I need for my daughter's college in this mail. We receive email pics that they are in there but post office says the mail lady has it and she has yet to come to our house. They made my husband wait 45 min to speak to a manager and then told him she left! Also, we filed complaints and the complaints says they were dealt with and closed when no one has talked to us?! I have never seen such evil in my life! Who withholds medication from people and their paychecks? They should be thrown in jail. My husband has gone to the post office six times now taking time off from work and still nothing has been accomplished. It's not the BEST post office but I have been to worse, believe it or not. Yes, one time my mail was stolen and I did try to file complaints but no one ever seemed to care. Finally I filed one with the Police Department instead but nothing ever came of it. It seems like a failed system if at no fault of my own, things I purchased and have the confirmation of payment and shipping, then my packages (two separate ones from two separate sellers) say they are delivered but end up stolen from my gated home, and I have NO recourse. I know it's not the PO's fault but they were not very helpful. They told me to call a number that just rang and rang. I went BACK inside days later and finally they gave me an email address but no one ever got back to me. Other than that one incident, there is a long line but it goes pretty quickly and your business gets handled just like any other post office. I feel bad for the employees there. This post office is always, always packed. Sometimes I've had to ship something and walked right out when I saw the line. I've done this several times when it wasn't the holiday season, so be prepared for extra, extra long lines now!! The service is what you would expect at the post office, sometimes friendly and sometimes indifferent. They have good rates on boxes here and I got one because they used to be open 24 hours. This also used to be the few offices that stayed open until 7pm for regular business. Now they close at the same time as the other ones and the PO boxes are only available until 8pm! Everything is well stocked and clean but the limited box hours and excessively long lines make this only a mediocre post office. read more

The service I received here is terrible. First I asked a guy the cheapest way to send a package and he weighed it and told me $7.50 through priority mail; I asked him "what about the flat rate priority mail" and he told me "no, this is the cheapest". Not the case, the $6 priority envelope worked just fine! Second, i hand them two other packages that I had already paid the postage on and just needed a receipt. They told me I had to PAY for a receipt!!!! PAY FOR A RECEIPT! Lol what! I asked to speak to a supervisor and she told me the same thing. Mind you this isn't my first time returning to either of these companies and i've always retained a receipt from the USPS with no problem. Our mail is suppose to be delivered by Gardena but two months ago they stopped delivering our churches mail. They are rude, and seem to go out of their way to try to make things difficult. Because of the poor service I have had to had my mail sent to my home instead of the church. read more

The counter closes at 5:30pm not 6pm... 6pm is for self service such as dropping mail in mail box or checking your PO boxes. I arrived to the door at 5:31pm and doors were lock. The employee literally blocked the doors as another customer & I were approaching. Horrible customer service & there were people inside that were awaiting so it's not like the registers & place was prepared for closure. My review is with the postal service in general. Maybe everyone else knows this but it was news to me. The expected delivery date indicated on the receipt is "just an estimate" and an investigation cannot be started unless to priority item takes longer than 5 days to be delivered. I sent a package priority mail to Lousiana on 06/23/18. The expected delivery date was 06/25/18. According to the tracking, the package went from Gardena, to Los Angeles on 06/23/18. On 06/25/18, it was in Dulles, VA, then it went to Merrifield, VA and to Washington, DC. The package then went back to Merrifield, VA on 06/26/18. When I contacted the post office I was told the expected delivery date was an estimate. What? read more

People wonder why the USPS is bleeding money like crazy every year ..... well .... from all the reviews on here, it should be very telling! My recent experience dealing with this branch and LA USPS and whoever is on their USPS hotlines make me wish USPS should just go bankrupt and lay off every one of them and start over. Of course - I'm being mean and I'm sure there are nice people that work hard at USPS, but seriously ..... get your SH*T together USPS. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So recently my company sent out an International Express Package (ETA 3-5 business days). It was picked up by our usual mail carrier at work, along with many other packages/mail and off it goes to "la la" land .... never to be found again (as of present). So after mailing it out, we decided to track it a couple days later and there was no status update on the USPS website. Figure some times they are slow to update ... and by 5th business day, checked again and still nothing. So that's when the first phone calls to USPS started. Their reply was that "oh don't worry, just not updated etc." But for a EXPRESS package - on the 5th business day, its SUPPOSE to be in the hands of the receiver already. Anyways, to save you some reading time .... called many numerous times to different USPS customer service agents - ALL OF THEM RUDE, UNHELPFUL or LIE TO YOU - none of them can assist! Its like they all took the same "HOW NOT TO BE HELPFUL" class or something. Pretty much the customer agents will "re-direct" you to someone else or tell you to call someone else or put you on hold forever. I can tell you - many of the phone calls to USPS took 30-40 minutes average to be PICKED UP (if its even picked up). So you are sitting there listening to their commercials, saying how USPS is great so ship with them. Yea - waiting 30 minutes to talk to a person that can't even help you and just rudely put you off .... uh huh ... "GREAT my @ss"! One of the supervisors on the USPS phone line - pretty much straight up lied and said "Oh your package is held by the US Customs" .... If thats the case, then please give me the US Customs tracking number for the package. Even called the Customs and their service was SO MUCH nicer and helpful than USPS. They kindly explain the run-down, how it works etc. and told us, US Customs does NOT HOLD out-going mail/package and even if they did, they hold no more than 48 hours. So pretty much - they called "lie" on USPS. And after the experience dealing with USPS - I believe US Customs! So a couple days and rounds and rounds of phone call were ALL no help - brings me back memories of the Merry-go-round .... going no where. Decided it was time to hit the main post office in the area. Went to the Post Office to see the POST MASTER twice on two different occasions - he keep saying he doesn't know or push the blame to some one else. When we gave him a claim number, he doesn't even bother to "TRY" to look it up. Basically saying "no way the package was there" and he went into explaining how the package can be else where etc. He thought I was some newbie that hardly mail anything so by using some explanation that works on regular joes - its not going to work with me. Finally I got pissed - our business ships hundreds (if not thousand+) of packages/mail with the USPS every month, so I know roughly how the system works and pretty much know the post offices in the area. While I'm no expert, but dealt enough to know whats up. I explained to him about the issue and basically tell him to cut the cr@p. I'm not trying to blame him on anything but I'm trying to find a solution to this issue. The whole time speaking with him - just makes me feel that no one wants to find a solution to this but instead they just want to kick the problem down the road or to someone else. Finally, he said to call the inspector general to open investigation because "MAYBE" the carrier stole it. (He did not say it in those words but I get where he was going). LONG STORY SHORT - Over two dozen phone calls (or more) to USPS, speaking to their useless, rude, bitchy customer service reps at many different locations/departments and visits to the Post Office to see their Post Master .... all came out with different stories. I thought Congress was good at "solving problems" ... wow ... USPS takes the cake on being the most inefficient organization. If you have some thing important to mail - go with FedEx or UPS. Its probably worth the extra few bucks - hell, even if its not that important, just go with them. If you don't have to use USPS, don't. Oh - if you need to go down to the USPS office to see the Post Master at this branch - try to go early or something. Because the office tends to have a line of people that have issues the Post Master can't or don't really care to solve, in my opinion. read more

Worst post office ever. Removed all of their outdoor mail receptacles, and reduced their "24 hour" lobby hours. If you can't make it there before they lock the doors, you can't even mail a letter. Found this out the hard way when I had to mail a payment with a near due date. The automated postal center made things bearable for a short time, but it's very difficult to use when it's inside a locked building, and your outside of that locked building. I've also had packages addressed to me gone missing. I have no idea where they went. I do recall a woman protesting on the sidewalk outside of this post office with boxes and a sign saying that they stole her packages. read more

I can't believe they actually offer a survey service for their work critique. I'll be looking that up after I finish here. Rudest service ever. I needed to send a package for my daughter in law. The apt number was iffy so I needed to ck on the number. Michelle the attendant was completely annoyed. Mind you the office is empty....it's 10:45 Tuesday morning. I then asked for insurance. She started now she needed to void the transaction and handed me a sticker and advised to fill it out. I double checked in the correct address....fill out the form and get in line again. Once I finished I returned with my form filled out. She then loudly and inappropriately starts to say " ohh lord jesus christ".....for you see I had failed to fill out the envelope and this was her way to voice her disgust in front of a now full post office. The Postmaster General really needs to investigate this branch. Two years ago an Asian lady at the counter screamed at me when I came to pick up a package. She screamed "It is not my job to find your package!" I figured she had a bad day and I let it go. Today, I went to pick up a package. When I got to the counter, an Asian man directed me to a separate line for package pickup. The supervisor Lily then helped me but she could not find my package. The company that sent me the package said the tracking number shows that it is at the post office. I even called UPS just to check and UPS said the they no longer had the package and that it is at the post office. I got back in line and the Asian man said that USPS holds packages for up to 15 days. I just heard Lily tell the lady she was helping before me that packages are held up to 30 days. I even overheard that same lady before me complaining to Lily that what Lily was telling her was different than what the Asian man was telling her. Apparently that lady was at the post office yesterday and all she wants is her check. Inconsistent information seems to be the norm here. I spent half an hour at the post office this morning and I observed four angry community members within that time. Furthermore, so many mail carriers have quit from this branch over the last few years it's hard to keep up with who is delivering mail because the routes are all split up. The post office used to be a friendly part of the community. I acknowledge that they play an important role in sending and delivering mail and checking to see that the contents are safe. I've observed a steep downturn in customer service at this branch and the workers at the window are very curt with bad attitudes. read more

It is conveniently located on Redondo Beach Blvd -- on my route to the 110 freeway entrance, but doggonit... it all goes downhill after that: 1. Parking is horrendous. No matter what hour I go, there is a line of cars waiting to pull into the lot. 2. This area seems to attract.... an interesting demographic.... of the weirdo variety. I have seen some interesting things happen here, at B of A across the street, and the Albertson's a few blocks away. 3. I retired from the USPS in 2004. This must be the worst post office. The carrier scanned my package as delivered but we never got it. The window supervisor, Jun Min Lee is rude, useless and doesn't care. He gave the number of Lashawn Smith , the delivery supervisor's phone number. She doesn't answer her and no voice mail either. I tried for 2 days. I returned to the Post Office to talk to Ms Smith in person. She was not available. I asked to talk to Cynthia Campano, the Gardena Postmaster. She was not there. This Post Office doesn't have any supervision. The Postmaster is MIA. Maybe this is why the window lobby has a bullet proof glass more than a bank. BTW there was 5 other customers looking for their packages and Mr Lee just walked and sat on desk until the 3 other customers left. The worst ever. I'm ashamed to say that I retired from the USPS. It was never like that before. The postmaster was accessible. Postmaster office was always available to hear complaints. They always refer to call 1-800-275-8777 which is total waste of time and useless. We need to reform the whole US Postal Service.... does anyone where we can write to or complains to either than the USPS? I filed so many complaints with the 800-275-8777 and nothing happened. This has got to be the worst Post Office in the Western Hemisphere. I am forced to use this post office because I mail EDDM in the city of Gardena. Each and every time I pay online and bring in my postcards for delivery, they are lost. They can't find them, they don't know what happened, "let me talk to the carrier", "Oh here it is, I found them". The EDDM mail should never leave the facility and should be delivered the next day by the mail carrier. And you ask, How do I know it's not delivered? I live on the route that supposed to receive the postcards. There are musical chairs when it comes to carriers, no consistency. Most of the carriers don't know what EDDM mail is, so you can't expect them to deliver it. I never have these issues when I get EDDM postcards delivered in Westchester. I think the issue is that NO ONE knows how to receive or what to do with the cards when they are brought in. Training Issue... read more

This is the worst post office I've ever been to. 1st off they lost half of our mail when my boyfriend's brother moved out. He filed a single change of address and they still send my boyfriends mail to his brother and some of his brothers mail to us. We are still waiting for a Netflix disc that's been missing for 2 weeks. Not only that but I'll drive to the Carson or Torrance post office when I need to mail something or buy stamps because this post office is RIDICULOUSLY slow.
