Never leave reviews on post offices but don't count on this place. I dropped off two small packages that already had pre-printed postage. No one in line so I asked the service window postal worker to simply scan the packages to show I dropped them off. The worker said "do you need a receipt?" I should have said yes but I didn't want to make her job harder so I said, "no it's all good as long as the packages are scanned. " Well guess what ? She only scanned one of the items. She wasn't busy as there were no customers and still couldn't manage to run a scan on 2 small packages? I've never come here and honestly will never come back. If that one package gets lost I have no way to prove I dropped it off. I asked so little of the postal worker but I guess it was still too much. read more

Friendly staff, always a line to visit the tellers. They do have a pretty awesome and fun selection of stamps to choose from. The parking lot can get a little crazy at times, I don't recommend trying to get and out on a lunch break though, everyone else has the same idea, and you will wait forever. There are new machines in the lobby area that allow you to avoid the lines altogether, unless of course you're sending a package. The machine will weigh and print out the right amount of postage and easily charge your credit or debit card. At that point all you have to do is walk a few feet to the drop box, drop it in and go. No line, no fuss, no muss. Just the way I like it, nice and easy. read more

I think this is where stunt drivers go to train or graduate. The drive thru mailboxes are angled so that you can only reach one while IN your car. That's usually the case if both lanes have cars otherwise you can angle yourself better. That being said it's still stressful when someone decides to wait for a car to pull out or drop someone off. The side street has shade and parking spaces. You can easily park here to keep your car cool while you enter this place. You will need zen-like patience while you wait and hear other people complain about crap until it's your turn. The last time I went there was an Asian guy that took care of things QUICK and at least left me feeling like he actually tried to help me. I hardly go inside anymore, but he's the guy I hope to get when I walk in. Some tips: -The Passport stuff doesn't require you to wait in that huge line. It's actually a separate line by a white door at the very end. Just be sure to knock on the door or quickly tell someone you're waiting. Or else you don't really exist. -You drop packages off near the entrance by what looks like a flippable surface type of a counter. Don't worry about the lack of surveillance on those packages. That's .. how it is... -It depends, but some times you can try to pick up a package at that same drop off location. Just bring your slip and depending on the person you may be helped. When you do, your back will BURN because of the angry stares you'll get from other people. It's just the fact that you're getting some sort of assistance while they aren't. You scumbag. read more

I was waiting in line to sign up for a P.O. Box. While in line, I saw two roaches crawling on the median in line, that holds all the various forms people might need to fill out. They were actually crawling, on the stacks of forms, moving from one stack to another. Think about that the next time that you go to fill out a form at this post office. Beyond disgusting. Not only did I leave line immediately, deciding I'll drive 20 min farther everyday to a different post office for a P.O. Box, but I can't stand the idea that all mail and packages previously received at home, came through this post office. God knows how much of my mail came in contact with their roaches. These were also the smaller kind of roach, that tends to infest indoors, not the big suckers who mostly live outside. To see two crawling around like that, around so many people, in broad daylight, you know there are many, many, many, many, more hiding, that wouldn't make themselves seen in daylight, or near humans. Horrible customer service. I paid for 2 day shipping and they shipped it to the wrong address. First carrier supervisor I spoke to took down my phone # and name and said she'd give me a call back once she contacted the carrier to see if she could get it back. 5 hours later never received a call back. Called them again and a different lady answered. She was very rude and wouldn't let me talk. She put me on hold for 10 min then when she answered again she gave me an answer about my package and just hung up, didn't let me say a single thing. Rude rude rude. read more

And I was placed on hold for a good 10 mins and this lady named "Mary" who said she was a Manager/Supervisor cause I had asked for one said that she can't help me and there's nothing she can do like saying it in a rude way. I sent over an hour at the post office and I left very up set with the entire process of renewing my passport. The instructions to renew a passport is not very clear and the little lady behind the counter was not very nice or helpful with her sarcastic self. The part that really confused me was the fact that it costs an extra $50 to submit the renewal application in person but if I mailed it in I save that??? Very backwards in my opinion. I dislike leaving negative feedback, and know that bad word travels faster than positive, BUT..... My experience has been very upsetting. I ordered (off of ebay) a birthday gift for my boyfriend that was supposed to arrive last Thursday (1 week ago) and, due to MY MISTAKE, I forgot to change my work address, so it was delivered at my old location (I will totally take the blame on that) - however, when I went to look online, it stated "Tried to deliver - left a notice at 9:55 am" So, on their helpful website, I continued to go to the "re-delivery" page, and set it up to where they would hold the item in house so I could come pick it up in person. Monday, I went in, and was surprised at how quickly the line was moving (high hopes) but when I gave the lady the tracking number, and BOTH addresses (the old and new office address) she was unable to find my package... WHAT? So, as nice and understanding as I am, I gave her my phone number and she promised someone would be in touch. (She had to wait for the "guy" she needed to talk to to get back from lunch.... two days went by and I had not received any phone call. Yesterday (Wednesday) I called the 1800 usp customer service - she stated that according to their records (computer, w.e) they have my package and she doesn't see why they weren't able to find it. I filed a complaint and I was to be called within 24 hours... I am now, as I type, on hold with the USPS in burbank because I had NOT received a call. And she is now looking for my package... I cross my fingers it was misplaced, and I can pick it up today, but if it was lost I REALLY HOPE to be refunded my money so I can buy a new present.... I mean... what other options are there? Luckily my boyfriends birthday is not for another week or so, and this isn't an URGENT package.... but what if it had been? I just don't understand how things get LOST, and if they DO, why is the customer service so terrible? Treat others how you would want to be treated! I wish I could give them zero stars for customer service. I recently moved to the area and I am having trouble with my mail, I went to the post office trying to fix this. Angela was "helping" me and for every question I asked she huffed and puffed as if my questions such a problem. She told me she she couldn't help me. What the heck is going on with our Burbank Post Offices. You don't care about your customers anymore. Lousy lousy customer service!!!! I have pointed out to the Supervisor at the facility that our names are all on our mailboxes and the carriers continue to put mail for every Tom, Dick, and Harry in the boxes!!! 4 times out of 10 when I request a pick up from the USPS site, it doesnt get picked up and I don't even ask for a special pick up I ask for regular mail service hours. This post office is always crowded, and on top of that the service is really slow. Would it kill the workers to smile a little, and give us a mere illusion that they enjoy their job? Sometimes they have only 2 lanes open and the line is so long that you are there for over 30mins waiting in line. On top of that, they don't refill their priority boxes all the time so you are savaging looking for boxes inside while trying not to get smothered by the huge line of people. Are you getting a Passport? READ THIS 1) If you're going on a Satruday, get there at 8:00am. The post office opens at 9:00am, but getting there an hour early WILL SAVE TIME. 2) Have your driver's license photocopied, both FRONT AND BACK. There is NO photocopy machine at this high-tech facility. 3) Get your passport photos done at CVS ahead of time. It's cheaper and you don't have to be an ass by holding up the line. Basically, I got there at 8:30am. There were three people already waiting. Little did I know that two of these three were holding the line for their whole family. Once I got in, the family just before me a) did not have their passport photos and b) had no photocopies. The woman behind the counter let the husband leave, get in his car and drive to the nearest photocopier. Meanwhile, we were all let waiting without doing a thing. By the time I was done, it's 10:00am. I was there for 90 minutes, and I was the 4th person in line. That said, I actually felt sorry for the woman behind the counter. She was really nice, and it's not her fault that the US post office doesn't equip their office with something as simple as a Xerox machine. read more

USPS dropped my package in my backyard and my dog ate it!!! USPS mailman was being paranoid about someone stealing my package from the front of my house. So he went all the way to the back and threw my package over our wall into the backyard with our three dogs! When I got home, my $200 CD collection was all over the yard. The CDs were damaged beyond recognition. I asked the mail carrier personally why he had done that and he said he didn't want to leave the package in the front where it was visible. I filed a claim with USPS and they said it was not their fault because it is comparable to the package being left outside and it getting damaged from rain. IM LIVID! By far the absolute worst experience i have ever had. I called ahead of time giving them my tracking number and was told that my package was there and to come in to pick up. I go in there and am told by lazy, disgruntled worker, SENG, that my package is not there and that it was sent back. He did no even look up the tracking number. I told him that I contacted the sender, and that it was not sent back. He then told me to go to someone else who told me it wasnt there. After telling me story over and over someone checked a " magic compartment" in the back and voila - 1 hour if time wasted, there was my package. Worst post office ever. True story: ordered 5 products online same day, received 1 of 5. If they were a baseball team they would be at the Mendoza Line! How can the pizza boy have a better success rate than a government agency that's been around since 1775!?! 1971 if you want to split hairs. If I wanted a success rate of .200 I'd use a goddamn carrier pigeon. If I wanted a 1 in 5 chance of ever seeing my mail I'd request to have my mail delivered via horseback, in the dead of winter and a food ration that would make the Oregon Trail look like a pleasure hike. The term "Good enough for government work" can't even fly when 4 out of 5 packages ends up missing and when I ask the delivery man what happened I get " I don't know, your building is confusing." It's your job to decipher the rather easy task of knowing addresses. If I had a 1 in 5 success rate at my job if get canned so fast it would be epic. You wouldn't even make the cut to work a fast food drive thru if you messed up 4 of 5 orders! On to customer service: Don't even bother calling, I can't even tell you if they understand the concept of a telephone. The device that's been around since 1892 and the concept of such hasn't changed since. I once called at 11am and left it ringing for 10min with no answer, drive over shortly after to see the place fully staffed. Crazy yes? While waiting in line I preform a little test and called the same building I'm standing in to get the same result. Why even bother installing and paying for a phone line!?! If you talk to someone face to face they are great and nice humans but don't expect them to find said lost packages. For all they know the back warehouse is a giant black hole taking in and sending your much needed parcel into the 3rd dimension of narnia. Avoid this post office if you can. It is too busy. The line often stretches out the door and I find some of the staff act as if it is they own the business and its their money on the line. Go to the North Hollywood PO on Lankershim if you want a passport and if its just posting stuff try the Toluca Lake PO on Riverside. I find this PO very impersonal. read more

I noticed there was a long line the first time, but didn't see anything negative at all, particularly because the line moved so quickly. I've since been back a dozen or so times, and everything about this post office is really great. I've never known such personable and caring postal workers. In fact, even our local courier (also in 91505) is the friendliest person to frequent our office. I've got nothing but love for this place, and I hope the reviews turn around for them. I sold a pair of boots on eBay and came to this post office and put my pre-paid box right on the counter where they told me to. Two days later, the boots were still not in the tracking system. Usually, when I drop off a pre-paid package, they get entered into the system by the end of day, or latest on the morning of the next day. I called the post office on a Wednesday afternoon (like 2 or 3 PM) to ask what happened. The phone rang, rang, and rang. I called them like 4, 5 times. Finally, after letting the phone ring for 5 minutes, my phone service automatically disconnected the call. So I drove over to the post office to ask what happened. The guy who helped me was nice and pleasant enough, but he basically told me the package is fine, it sometimes takes a while, it will be in the system by the weekend. Then I asked them what the deal was with the phones not working. He said, and I quote, "Oh, haha, the manager doesn't like to answer the phone in the afternoon. Call in the morning between 8 and 10 AM. Haha!" Seriously? You have a phone number and I call during regular business hours, there's no voicemail to leave a message, the employees treat their phantom phone as some amusing quirk, and I have to call when THEY feel like picking up??? By the way, it's been a week and my shoes are still not in the tracking system, and my customer still hasn't received it. I literally put the package directly within the post office walls, and it still went missing. Now I have to apologize and issue a refund to my customer, then try to wrangle the $13 postage fee back from these fools. Now, thinking back, a creepy-looking woman in line WAS eyeing the package with great interest when I left, so I wouldn't even be surprised if someone stole it before they even had a chance to take it off the counter. A lady tried walking out of the doors only to be approached by a running post officer making her turn around to avoid opening the door for me. They let her go out of the back entrance. Don't drive up and drop your mail from your car into one of the 3 collection boxes. They are always full and your mail won't go down into the box far enough, the next person can reach in and grab your mail. I know because I noticed that my mail did not go down, so I reached in to get it back and I got a handful of someone else's mail as well. My 90 year old neighbor told me that this place used to be a dairy farm where everyone from Burbank came to get their milk. The back parking lot used to be a cemetery? Well, that explains a lot. I had a mail hold- when I went to pick up my mail they said it was out for delivery, even though when I placed the mail hold I requested that I would pick it up. The mail never arrived. No one at the office could help me find it track the mail that was lost. They continued to say it was with the carrier out for delivery- they continued with this response for a week.
