This is the worst post office and the fact that it's in the heart of Beverly Hills just adds to the irony. There are a few pros but if you can go somewhere else, you should. The few positives: The building is clean and very easy to get in and out of. Lots of parking Safe neighborhood And that's about it. The cons? Well just read the other reviews. To sum up, they are always severely understaffed and don't seem to care. One time, I waited over 45 minutes to pickup a package when I asked the single staff member working the counter why there were literally 30 people waiting, she said to ask Rep. Lieu as this post office fell in his district. Needless to say, people in Beverly Hills are not used to getting this level of service. And there is no recourse. "AVOID THIS LOCATION AT ALL COST! I had a package to drop off and was in the area of the Maple Drive Post Office in Beverly Hills. When I Yelped for directions I read the horrendous reveiws for this location. Many of the bad reviews mentioned that employees often call in sick on Mondays and Fridays to extend long weekends. It was Tuesday, so I thought it would be okay. Boy.....was I wrong!!! I arrived at 4:00 pm and there was only one postal worker helping customers behind the counter. There was a long line forming outside the door and signs posted apologizing for having only one person on duty. After 20 minutes, a woman in a red dress and high heels appeared from nowhere. She met us in the post office lobby and began taking packages behind the counter, then she would come back out and greet the next customer, instead of allowing the customers to come to the counter. When it was my turn she asked if I needed a receipt? I said if course I do! She looked ticked-off and carried my package behind the counter. Instead of waiting like the other customers, I followed her to the counter. I asked her if they were short staffed because of the government shutdown and she said no.....it was because the employees still thought it was Martin Luther King's birthday. I was beginning to feel like I was in an episode of the Twilight Zone. This made no sense at all! A few days later, we received a message from the recipient informing us that the package never arrived. When we attempted to track the package we realized that the post office employee gave me a receipt for the wrong package. There was no way for us to complete a proper claim. When I tried to call the location there was no one who would pick up the phone. I'm out $95.00, plus postage, and even got a bad review on EBay!! read more

Thank God there's Yelp so I can tell the world how much of a sh_t hole this place is! I dread and I mean dread receiving mail and packages coming from this post office. I shop and sell a lot online and always prefer the other two private companies. I have all of my mail and packages shipped to my office because frankly I dont have time to wait for my package at home. This PO is a shining example of why this country is being privatized. The lazy incompetent government workers can't do their job right. I don't believe all post offices are the same because my step-dad himself was the post master for another So Cal location for 38 years. This office is notorious for sending the wrong mail to the wrong addreses. Once I ordered a text book and 1 week after it shows delivered on their website the book still has't arrived. I went to their location and it was even worse. The sign says out for lunch at 11 AM and it is already 1 PM and those guys are still chatting in the back. (You could hear them laughing from inside) They finally open at 1:45 and the guy tells me my package is not with them anymore and they have no idea where it is. Really? The book finally comes in a week after. Our shipping department has to return mail to them constantly because they keep sending us someone else's. How's that for efficiency? Fast forward a few months ahead and here we go again. An item I've been expecting is missing. Their site says it was delivered to me on the 27th. Would I be here at Yelp if I had the darn thing already? For f_ck's sake please just do your job! If you try calling them good luck, no one answers. It's a shame to have federal employees lose their jobs just so losers like these can keep theirs. This branch is a waste of money and should be shut-down. My first one-star review! Because this PO is a small taste of hell. I would love to give this PO the benefit of the doubt, but it NEVER fails that every time I'm here I leave frustrated. Sure, they get the job done when they are helping you, but getting to the front of the line is a whole new story. Often I've seen nobody at the front desks for long periods of time. Also, the workers move at a pace slower than molasses (literally, like, when they walk) and stop to casually chat with other employees. Another recurring theme is whenever I'm in line, the other patrons are constantly complaining among themselves...that can't be a good sign. I was was in a line 5 people deep...and it took 40 minutes! As several others have mentioned, this post office provides the worst delivery service I have ever experienced, and seriously needs to be investigated. I have had more parcels magically disappear in the 5 years I've lived here than in the 45 years I lived elsewhere. Can't be just a coincidence. Once again this week, Amazon says the package has been delivered... but of course we've never seen it, no one ever signed for it, including the 24 hr security guy who receives all packages for the building. And as with the other times someone has foolishly tried to send us stuff via USPS, I feel pretty confident it will have gone missing when I ask them about it tomorrow. Aaarrrggghh! If I could give this place NO STARS I would. Not only are the 11am-5pm with a 2pm-3pm lunch hours completely ridiculous to pick up a package, their customer service is beyond awful. I had to go there because the zip code was wrong on my package. After calling the main line and having them tell me my package was there, I went to the PO only to have the lady behind the window tell me my package was at my actual zipcode's post office. She did this without looking in a computer or looking to see if my package just might actually be behind her. After I was flat out LIED to by the lady she brought her supervisor to talk to me and he told me that my package was probably sent back to the sender but they couldn't say for sure. The package hadn't been scanned anywhere at this point in 4 days so its in USPS limbo and could be anywhere. BTW- if you buy insurance or tracking, it only works until it is delivered, if for some reason it has to do back to the sender, it no longer works. Tell me how much sense that makes. Shouldn't insurance cover a package until it is in the receiver or sender's hands safely? Needless to say- this only confirms why I only use FedEx or UPS. Unfortunately not all my sender's are on board yet. read more

Just the worst. Only went there because it was convenient, but will avoid like the plague whenever possible. Lady behind the counter could care less that she was rude to me and treated me like I was the dumbest person on the planet. Granted, I had to ask where on the package to put the return receipt label. I mean really. How stupid am i? I almost lost it when she gave me that disgusted look (and audible sigh) when i asked, but kept my mouth shut figuring she would likely put my package in the garbage if I made any comment back. There's no other way to put it: the wait times here are awful, and probably only getting worse with the budget troubles the USPS is going through. It's almost a guarantee that this place is going to be understaffed. I've never seen them open more than two registers, and most of the times I've been in lately they've only had one counter open. The employees' attitudes are actually usually pretty good, especially for the circumstances. I know it would be a tough work environment to spend all day with perturbed customers, so I honestly respect them for doing their best with what they have. The long wait times aren't unique to this post office (the one on Beverly by the Grove is actually usually much worse), so the only thing in this day and age you can do to deal with an understaffed/underfunded USPS is print your shipping labels online, drop your packages off, and avoid the line whenever you can. read more

Worst post office ever! I'm usually cool and calm and it takes a lot to get me mad; but after a visit to this post office, my blood was boiling. I visited the post office to pick up certified postage slips and cards for my office since we ran out. I went to the little table and there was only two left. I noticed a LOOOONG line for people who are mailing things, which I wasn't, so I went straight to the counter and stood aside until an employee can just hand me some from the back. I waited for 5 minutes until she had a break between helping a customer and asked her for the cards, she handed me the green cards. I also needed the slip and mid-sentence for the slips, she stopped me and said "you have to wait, I am with a customer." Seriously? All she had to do was grab some slips and hand it to me. So I waited. After another 5 minutes, I was getting frustrated and turned my back to check out the post office, since it was my first time here. What do you think I see? A WALL of cards and slips. This damn lady couldn't just tell me to turn around to grab the cards from there?! I was so mad. I was about to grab the whole stack so I didn't have to return to this hell hole. I've never really had a bad experience at a post office and wondered why people would complain. Now I know why. read more

I waited in line for 45 minutes to set up a post office box, was told to wait in another line for an additional 20 minutes... when I finally got to the counter, I was told to go back and wait in the original line! Their employees are absolutely clueless! While lines collected more than 20 people, the staff was seen casually chatting and laughing with one another. Time is precious, people! I sincerely hate writing bad reviews and only do so when I feel there is a real flaw in the system. I was having my mail held while on vacation for two weeks. I facilitated this through the USPS site. My instructions were to pick up held mail at the post office upon my return. Unfortunately things did not run as smoothly as that. I stopped by the pick window at the post office five times over the span of 10 days to inquire where my mail was. In the process I filled out 3 (of the same) forms where a manager was to call me with information. As echoed by other reviewers, I find it odd how such a large post office only has one person at the counter. When I explained my frustration to the service representative, her suggestion (which I believe to be sincere) was to "write the Beverly Hills Courier" with complaints. Fair enough, but I just wanted my mail and to not necessarily start a lobbyist campaign against the BH Post Office. She then called her manager, "Miss Jones", who was rather brusque to put it nicely. The long and the short of it was she had no idea where my mail was, that by "doing things online there are always issues", and that my held mail would eventually make it's way to my home. Suffice it to say, it never happened. If anyone affiliated with the USPS happens to care enough to read any of these reviews, I think there is an overall frustration with not just this branch but the overall system b/c those who work there could not care less about items that can often be very important to the customer. In addition, there is no accountability, no real person to contact or speak to, no direct resolution phone number, etc. Again, while this is about my experience at BH Maple Drive branch, this goes across the board. In the end, I resorted to doing what I probably should have done after round 2 - called the parties that I was expecting important pieces of mail and had them reissue/resend whatever it was I was expecting. read more

Worst Post office in the country. It's huge -one of the biggest in the country, but not enough counter staff, they never answer the phone and I formally requested a manager to contact me once about a lost package and never heard back from anyone. I started with my PO Box at the 90213 Post Office on Little Santa Monica and Beverly Drive in the 1970's. It's the same PO Box number and zip code but it's been moved 4 times landing at the Maple drive and 3rd location in the 90's. (My box moved at the 90210 location 3 times -so frustrating to go in and find they moved your box). I really miss the old Will Rogers Post Office. It was always easy to get in and out of there. They had someone manning the yellow slip pick up window all day. This Post office is very slow, the workers are rude and don't want to help. They give you the wrong slip and make you fill it out and wait in line again and then send you off to repeat with another slip. (That's happened twice) The yellow slip office is open about 3-5 hours a day, but they often open late and close early, or aren't open the times they post which is so frustrating. Around Thanksgiving 2016 they were closed for 5 days, but only put a notice up, stating that 2 days they would be closed. ...when I finally got in, my PO Box was moved again! The only reasons I gave it 1 star, is that they have an efficient passport office - at least it was 5 years ago. AND there is a good underground parking lot. (...but now they've moved the entrance to the furthest point from parking.) read more

Regardless of how often or seldom I use USPS, each time I am reminded by the indifference, lack of energy and lack of knowledge, and lack of any type of customer service!!! First the give me green slip to go to a certain location, I go there and they send me to another place! I asked them to call to make its there, they find out no one is even there. The want me to wait until it arrives Then they get my number to call me. Then call me and say go drive around your home looking for the post office car and wave him down! Pretty building, plenty of parking. That's it. Window opens at 9 AM. At 9:05 the grate opens. One person comes out and starts preparing her station for work. The line is 8 people deep. She continues. Another comes out and starts preparing a station to work. Stops. Goes to the back for a while. Comes back pushing a cart. Goes back again. There are 10 people in line. Station 1 is now ready to serve. First customer goes to window, and starts unloading a huge bag full of little pacakges for shipping - all certified. Third worker comes out and helps worker # 2 push carts around. Finally goes to open a window. Gentleman in the middle of the line demands to speak to "the postmaster" Worker 3 leaves her station to go look for a supervisor. Worker 2 still pushing carts around. Maybe 10 minutes later, a rumpled looking guy comes out, looking like he just got out of bed, wearing a grey Post office t-shirt. Worker #3 stands beside him. Irate gentleman in middle of line proceeds to explain to him that all the stations need to be prepared before opening time, so there isn't a line up of 15 people watching while they set up their stations. Everyone stops working in order to watch the show. Supervisor scratches head and finally says "I understand", before turning and wandering off. Worker #3, having done her duty to the irate gentleman in the middle of the line (who has cost us an addtional 20 minutes in line so he can have the satisfaction of a rant), is now ready to serve the next customer. When ever I have to post some mail or question a missing package I begrudgingly make my way to this post office location. Countless times I have gone and been given false information with a phony smile and a less than appreciative demeanor. Now I am not the manager at this location so I cannot motivate anyone to work or at least pretend like they want to be there, but I would appreciate it if someone actually stepped up. I gave this place 3 stars because their is potential. It's a newer facility that opened up (great). But also because I went in today to ship some late packages for the holidays. I had boxed these packages at home and brought them in thinking I would save a buck. When I put the packages on the scale I was amazed that they would cost $20+ to ship. Esther (remember this name, branch manager), rather than taking my package and shipping as is suggested another method for delivery to help me save a few dollars on my packages. I've been in here at least a dozen times in the past several months. Every single time there is a SINGLE person working the front counter so it is VERY slow. Granted, the people working the counter are very nice once you finally get there. Thankfully, for uncomplicated things like small parcels, priority flat-rate, and letters, there is the DIY postal machine to the left which is usually wide open. Also, if you are PICKING UP a parcel, don't waste your time waiting in the main line. Go around the corner to the right and go down the first hall to the left... knock on the door in the far left corner. PROs: Free underground garage parking or metered street parking. Generally nice counter clerks. Nice, large, climate-controlled modern building unlike the post offices I am used to. CONs: Can be very slow. Also, likely because this is Beverly Hills you get a lot of entitled, road-rage, blackberry types who huff and puff because they have to wait to be served. Watching them boil over is fairly entertaining so that could be a PRO depending on your perspective. The moral is don't come in at 4:30 pm expecting to receive efficient service. #1) 30 other people had the same idea and will be in line in front of you and #2) this is a government-run facility which is by definition inefficient (whoa nelly, healthcare!). read more

I've been here a handful of times and have mixed feelings about the place. It's sorta like fishing-- you either get there on a good day or you don't. Parking here is a problem. Not because there aren't open spaces, but because extremely slow and old drivers in big cars take 5 minutes to back in or out of them. I no longer try parking near the PO, I either jog my mail over, ride my bike, or walk around the corner after parking on Burton. I'd recommend this for anyone looking to maintain their sanity doing household chores. I've waited in line for a VERY long time here. We're talkin' 20-25 minutes. The other day there were only a few people ahead of me and it still felt like eternity before I got back to my car. The clerk who helped me was a little chatty and unlike most of the USPS staff, didn't ask if I wanted stamps. This was a day I indeed WANTED STAMPS. And I forgot, so I ended up in line... again. I eventually got the stamps I wanted but I wish they'd put prettier ones in the automated machine. It would save people like me a lot of time in line and would earn them some more stars! read more

People clearly aren't doing their jobs at this post office. I had a package "misdelivered" to this place several days ago, and it hasn't budged. Both of the Culver City USPS stores have been absolutely astounded by the level of incompetence when I've called and asked for an update. I've never had any problems with the Culver City post offices, but this one just won't let go of my package. Which is already a week late thanks to ISC Chicago. I've tried to get in contact with this post office and after 10 minutes, no one has answered the phone. I'm far from impressed. Update: After more than a half hour, I finally got through to someone. I was told that the package was sent to the Culver City post office, which as far as I know, is untrue, because the Culver City post office has claimed that it is still in Beverly Hills. The woman on the phone was also incredibly rude to me. When I gave her the tracking number, she actually shouted "that is not a tracking number," and I had to explain to her that yes, it is, I'm literally looking at the tracking info on USPS right now with that very number. After experiencing SEVERAL catalog orders from last Christmas that never delivered, I found that all of them had been turned over to the Beverly Hills post office from FedEx or UPS for the final delivery. Each time I had to call the Catalog company, they have to resend the item (& some were out of stock) at their expense & expedited shipping. Just this week I had 3 packages from a catalog company ship them UPS & you guessed it, found out through the UPS tracking that it went to "a local post office", & that supposedly 2 attempts were made for delivery for each package with notices left. Never happened. I'm in a high rise building everyday, & no attempts or notices were ever left. I think they've got quite a racket going on at Maple Street. I'm tired of listening to Postal workers saying they are sorry when they can't even track where the package went once at the Post Office, or they try to say that maybe the packages weren't addressed properly. Really? Like UPS or FedEx would take the package partway to California just for fun I've filed yet another useless claim just like I did last year with no resolve.
