This is the VERY worst poorly run post office in the city of LA! I've had my PO Box here for 30+ years! There has NEVER been a self-serve kiosk available here which could significantly reduce the line. No dedicated PO Box staff which could help the line if they did. Consistently poor service for more than 25 years! Start all over!!

It had metered street parking and a very short line of customers inside. I actually dropped my cards into a slot and stood in line for more stamps. A clerk called out, "Anyone want stamps only?" I raised my hand and moved forward! It was a quick transaction. The only improvement would be for the supervisor to not distract the clerk while a transaction is happening! Ha!

And it's bizarre because there is a big parking lot in the back with open spots but signs everywhere saying for employees only. It's a huge location with a bunch of PO Boxes inside, but there's trash strewn about inside & outside, things are messy, it's quite dirty, the poor barrier the staff is behind is covered in carvings - it's just a mess! It must be really hard to work at this location honestly and I applaud the staff for handling so many people in a chill manner. At least the person who helped me was chill and we wished each other good days! :) However there was only 1 staff working thru the line while the other was tied up for the entire 30 minutes I was waiting. I can only speak for an older woman who works there. Upon going up to her, she was just speaking loudly to her coworker and not really paying attention to me or what she was doing. Which okay, fine. I came in to drop off a package and the label I had wasn't able to be read, which is okay and I understand. But the way in which this staff member spoke was unprofessional, unhelpful and lacked courtesy. I'm always polite to workers so I would hope that I receive reciprocal treatment. You can access the parking lot from 3rd Street. Remember to take your parking ticket to get it validated. The best way to get to the post office from the 3rd Street parking lot is to take the entrance located near the Banana Leaf restaurant, see picture. That way seems to be the most direct shot to get to the other side of the Farmers Market.
