This Post Office location need some love and tender care lol! They have no parking for customers - I paid a meter to pick up a package being held. BAH! And it's bizarre because there is a big parking lot in the back with open spots but signs everywhere saying for employees only. It's a huge location with a bunch of PO Boxes inside, but there's trash strewn about inside & outside, things are messy, it's quite dirty, the poor barrier the staff is behind is covered in carvings - it's just a mess! It must be really hard to work at this location honestly and I applaud the staff for handling so many people in a chill manner. At least the person who helped me was chill and we wished each other good days! :) However there was only 1 staff working thru the line while the other was tied up for the entire 30 minutes I was waiting. Like wowza, these long lines at non peak weekday times - had to spend my whole lunch break here - and no parking - nahhhh. I will never go to this location willingly again! read more

I understand that working at the post office is likely stressful and frustrating. While I have empathy for that, I don't understand how unprofessional staff can be. I can only speak for an older woman who works there. Upon going up to her, she was just speaking loudly to her coworker and not really paying attention to me or what she was doing. Which okay, fine. I came in to drop off a package and the label I had wasn't able to be read, which is okay and I understand. But the way in which this staff member spoke was unprofessional, unhelpful and lacked courtesy. I'm always polite to workers so I would hope that I receive reciprocal treatment. She cut me off before I finished speaking, when I was asking a question and offered no alternative solution. It was an off putting interaction and I hope the customer service can be at least improved to some level of standard. read more

I rarely come to the post office . Unless is completely necessary. They were holding a package because supposedly my mailbox was full . Which was not true. But anyways I came made line and I saw how rude was one employee calling the client over. So there wasn't a long line I was the third person. There was clerk that started yelling at the woman in front of me. There is a glass window between us but she was yelling "hey you you !! I am talking to you "... then she said "I am Not talking to him I am talking to you . I don't need him" she startled the poor older woman and the older woman began apologizing like if she did something wrong . PREFACE: I have NEVER had problems with other drop boxes. EVER, but somehow, I had trouble with this one. I put a small package in a blue USPS drop box with tracking. This particular USPS drop box is ruled by Pico Heights Post office. After 15 days, I called the main USPS phone line and was transferred to this location. I spoke with Ms. LaMoore. She was rude, didn't listen, and provided me with contradictory information. First she said that it's possible that the package was actually delivered and was not scanned along the whole process, then she said that it's possible that the package is at the "processing center" waiting to be processed because the USPS is understaffed. WHICH IS IT?! Basically, she used many words, but had absolutely NOTHING useful to say. I am actually convinced that the package was stolen by a USPS worker. I don't buy their stories about people with stickies on the end of fishing poles going through drop boxes. REALLY? It's never happened to ALL THE OTHER things I dropped in other boxes! What makes most sense to me is that the driver picked it up. Saw where the package was supposed to be delivered to. Sees that the package has a tracking number, but knows that the package will not be detected by the customer or USPS unless it's scanned. The USPS worker simply keeps it. Never scans it. Then USPS worker then returns to the "USPS processing center" with the things they decided NOT to steal! Thereby leaving the customer refreshing their tracking page to an item that no longer exists because it's been stolen and technically doesn't exist anymore! Ms. LaMoore said she would call me back within 24 hours with an update. That call never came. I am not saying this is true for other locations, as I have had such good and honest experiences with other USPSs and their workers, but for THIS location, I do believe this to be true. I believe a USPS worker stole my package. It's the only simple explanation for this experience. This place is bad news. Never. Ever. Again. read more

I have never had a bad customer service interaction at this location. The counter agents are very knowledgeable of the products and services. They truly help every customer efficiently with their mailing needs with great professionalism and warmth. I had all info ready, pictures of the package in their drop off area, date, exact time, tracking number etc. The girl says to me "What do you want me to do about it? Call the 1800#" I told her I understand that there's a 1800# because the tracking information didn't update I figured all they would do is make a claim (which is exactly what happened.) Parking wasn't fun. I actually ended up grabbing a meter, running in and out as fast as possible... and getting lucky... no ticket (I had no change). Alice C. said on 4/13/09 that a hobo opens the door when you enter and exit, like a doorman, asking for change... on 12/23/10 this was still the case. I wouldn't be bothered if it weren't for the smell. I think I'd rather hold my own door as I enter and exit than hold my own breath. The employees clearly communicated their disdain for working. Lots of attitude when I didn't know exactly which form I needed to complete for each task I needed to do. The long-ass shopping list of add-ons was a bit annoying too... "Do you need anything else today? Stamps? Passport photographs? Shipping materials? Scissors? Tape? Commemorative stamps? Listen, I don't really write Yelp reviews but I had such great service that I have to write about this. Long story short, I accidentally Priority Express mailed my visa and passport to a vacant address and it bounced back to the Pico post office the day before Christmas. What typically happens at that point is that the mail would then be sent back to me. I live in the Portland area and at this moment I need to get this to the embassy as fast as possible. This morning, I was able to talk with postal employees on the phone. I worked with a staff member who personally tracked down my envelope. Fortunately it had not left yet. She helped me weigh out my options to ensure it got to the embassy on time and home girl even had that shit done before lunch. I really appreciated how they were able to help me. I've never wanted to curse out someone until this, and I am a peaceful and caring person. This woman was so set on eating her cashews and doing minimal work until the end of her shift that she refused me service for absolutely no reason. She claimed they have a limit and I said that I'm leaving town and had to carry the boxes over by hand. I can't take them anywhere else. Half listening she decided I don't know - that this was too important for me and brought back my package that she had taken and decided not to ship anything for me. She then went to the back to put packages on the truck and twenty minutes returned and said it was too late, that she couldn't keep them overnight. She said they were closing shortly anyway. It wasn't even 4 pm and I've never heard of that rule.. And when I asked for a supervisor she said she was it and made up a fake name when I asked what hers was. Seriously. Thankfully they completely fired the miserable staff last year and overhauled the entire place. All these horror stories posted on here were 100% true, the old staff literally decided to establish their own lunch hours and close the post office, got caught, and got thrown out. You really have to mess up to get fired by the post office, it's an achievement. The place now has baseline courtesy, which I guess is a great privilege we should be thankful for, but the lines are crazy. Average wait time is around 30 minutes based on my trips there, it's busy all day because it does not service 9-5 office people, so all sorts of characters are in there needing weird niche things. Only one kiosk open at a time, the Vermont/USC station is much larger and faster and would recommend you go there. Better drop off options too and an actual parking lot. THEY WILL TICKET YOU IF YOU PARK IN THE RED ZONE AT THIS LOCATION!! No parking available. read more

The woman who initially helped me was endearing and called me sweetheart and honey which wasn't condescending, again, very kind. Was in and out in 10 minutes. I work near this post office, and it is such a far cry from the beautiful, clean, friendly and efficient post office I usually use in Pasadena. I use a PO Box here, so I can usually skip the horrendously long lines with only one person working every single time. There are other people working but they are normally walking around aimlessly. The only time I have to interact with anyone is when I need to pick up packages, and the lines are so horribly long, and the clerks have a terrible attitude. There used to be some nice clerks that transferred from the sixth street post office when it closed, but I don't see them around anymore. read more

This post office is stealing mail. When I order things online - no problem, but each and every time I get a package from home...it just never comes. Once my Mother got the box returned to her opened and resealed with only one of the items left in the box. This is SO troubling!! It's the USPS. This is not supposed to happen. Use FedEx or UPS if you want to get your packages. The number for the Postal Police is 877-876-2455. They are the only "police" that can handle this. read more
