This US Post Office is open until 6pm on weekdays and 3pm on Saturdays! It's a savior on some days with most other USPSes closing at 5pm. They have a ton of PO Boxes (oookay Hollywood) and a Parcel Drop box which is where you'll usually find me dropping my prepaid packages. It's a beautiful building with it's own Hollywood Star right outside the entrance. If all you need is to drop off things with no human interaction, this is a great USPS.

On December 12, 2025, I went to the USPS office at 1615 Wilcox Avenue, Hollywood, Los Angeles, CA 90028, to ship 18 packages to my regular clients. A USPS clerk named Rita initially began processing my shipments. When she reached the sixth package and saw that I still had more packages--and since it was close to closing time--she told me: "I will not accept any more packages from you. You must use the self-service machine." I calmly explained that Media Mail cannot be processed at the self-service kiosk and that I had waited in line like everyone else. She dismissed my explanation, pointed to the line behind me, and said they were about to close. She then refused to continue serving me. As a result, people in line began making rude comments toward me, such as "Hurry up" and "Are you the only one here?" I said that I had waited my turn and again asked Rita to complete my shipments. She refused. I asked for a supervisor. On the wall, I saw a sign listing Supervisor Maria Ayala. Instead, a young man who later said his name was Michael approached me and said, "I'm the supervisor. She's not here. I'm in charge." He told me to follow him to another window near the entrance. By that time, the packages Rita had already accepted had receipts issued, tracking numbers attached, and price labels printed. He then told me, "Take your packages." I said, "How can I take them? I haven't paid yet." He replied, "You can't pay." I showed my credit cards and said I was ready to pay. He said, "I don't know anything. Take them." When I returned to Rita's workstation, both Rita and Michael were gone. No one came to help me. Other employees told me, "We didn't serve you. We don't know." My packages were missing. I felt forced to call the police to report what I believed was theft of my USPS packages. After that, Rita suddenly reappeared and pushed the packages back through the window, then slammed it shut. I noticed that all price labels had been removed, even though the tracking numbers were still attached. In my opinion, the transactions were deliberately reversed to avoid responsibility. The most disturbing part is that while standing nearby, I personally heard Rita speaking with coworkers and clearly saying, "I hate Muslims." That day, I had come to the post office after Friday prayer, wearing traditional Muslim clothing--a white garment and a Muslim head covering commonly worn to the mosque. Based on my personal experience, I believe I was denied service due to religious discrimination. I am sharing this as my personal experience and opinion so others can make an informed decision before visiting this USPS location.

Came in around 11 am on a Friday to ship some Trader Joe's to our family in Hawaii. Saw many reviews mention there's only 1 employee working and that was the case but glad we were in and out in 15 minutes; got lucky with only a few people ahead of us in line. I'm glad Apple Pay is accepted. Paid $25 for a "large" flat rate box. Wish boxes came in bigger sizes because it basically only fits a small bag of snacks.

If I could give this place ZERO stars I would. Do yourself a favor and go ANYWHERE else! Worst experience I've ever had. 25 people in line, only 1 person helping... Several workers walking around laughing as if we (customers) have all the time in the world... People were yelling & cussing, confused, angry... I went to the teller (when it was my turn) and she shut the window and walked off - no one said anything, no explanation. Just an overall "F#CK YOU" mentality. Trust me, this is the nexus of hell and you will only leave a worse person if you go here.

The service request. They never called or anything.

Any free parking around post office?

Right across the street! If you carefully read the sign in the lot, during the business hours USPS is opened, you don't have to pay (I've seen some people accidentally pay). However, this isn't necessary. I've come here for years, and the lot… Read more

So, this will be a review in (hopeful) progress... *fingers crossed*…read more I ordered 5 pairs of shoes from a vendor in China. The vendor seperated the shoes into two separate e-packages (two pairs in one, three pairs in the other). - Both packages left China on November 7th. - Both packages made it to the US on November 9th. - Both packages were "Processed Through Facility ISC Los Angeles" the same day, two minutes apart from each other (9:14am & 9:16am). - I received one of the packages to my home here in Saint Louis, MO yesterday, November 13th. (LY933850883CN) - The other one, however, is still stuck in the standard "Processed through ISC" state. Ironically, the one that was received and processed two minutes later (9:16am) is the one I received. What could be the reason for the delay on the package that was received the same day mere minutes apart?! Perhaps that one looked a little more "interesting" to the person debating whether or not to steal it? I certainly hope not. "Expected Delivery" for the remaining package is this Friday, November 16th. *holding breath* I'll keep updating but based on SO MANY of the other reviews this could take some time... Update (11/17/18): Interesting, the second package has now made its way to the Omaha, NE Distribution Center. Why it went there, who knows... especially considering the first package never passed through Omaha. Meh, I'm just glad there's movement of any kind based on seeing others packages being stuck in the LAX ISC black hole. No eta on delivery tho...

My package from Japan (now worth $6k) was lost/stolen here…read more When the tracking stopped updating for days, I looked into this facility and immediately found out it's infamous for being a black hole. I was worried, but the sender couldn't do anything until the "required waiting period" passed. Japan Post tried to investigate but couldn't get anywhere because USPS was unresponsive and provided zero useful information. Three months later, USPS finally admitted the package was lost. Japan Post couldn't even refund the full amount because USPS has so many lost-package cases lately that they found the situation suspicious. This item is extremely important to me, and I can't buy another one due to how expensive it has become. Meanwhile, another package of mine went through SF ISC and cleared customs instantly with no issues. So yes, the problem is this facility. I filed a police report with LAPD but they said lost package was not their responsibility. If you're buying expensive items from outside the US, ship with DHL if possible. Don't risk it with USPS.

The differentiators are usually if they have good parking options (the answer here is YES, a lot that you can usually snag a spot in but just make sure to exit at the stoplight instead of getting caught in the Grove's traffic's crosshairs) and the humans working there. Goooooooodness this post office disappoints on the staff. I see staff not respond to customers' as they ask questions while they chat to each other between the windows. I experience the same half the time, just no response. My friend went in to bring mail from a past resident & they just grabbed it and cut him off not letting him finish a sentence. The line gets sooooo long sometimes and I'm sure the crabby staff doesn't leave anyone feeling good about their experience here. The Post Office is open 930am-5pm every day but Sunday if you need teller assistance, but the lobby opens at 6am each day! And the good news is the self service kiosk and a drop box for packages both reside in that lobby. That's all I need 99% of the time I pop into the post office so lucky me. One day when I went the Drop Off Box was closed though so it can't always be counted on! The next day it was back open though so all was well in my world. I was so happy they fixed it so quickly. For dropping things off, this post office works well for me. However, It's weirdly the most unfriendly post office and that's such a shame if you need to interact with the staff.

I explained that although the boxes were identical in appearance, they were being shipped to different addresses, so I preferred to process them one at a time to avoid any confusion. Despite this being a simple process of scanning QR codes to print labels, she said she was too busy, told me not to come next time and to use the self-service kiosk instead, and stated that she could no longer help in this way. Her overall tone was irritated and unprofessional. She also incorrectly identified which receipt belonged to which package, causing confusion. I immediately asked her to verify the package information to ensure accuracy, but she refused, stating that the packages were already in processing. I was simply trying to prevent a shipping error for QR-code-based shipments, but I was disappointed with the handling of the situation and the level of customer service provided.
