03/17 5:40 pm. I came in a bit late to the post office because for whatever reason my package was marked "cannot be delivered. Available to pickup". The worst luck landing this location with the rudest employee ive met in my life. The moment I walk in immediately the guy goes "we're closed check the time." Im sorry you dont know how to communicate that in a nicer way. Keep in mind 2 other customers were there as well and being helped. I let him know I simply needed to pick up a package and nothing else that would take more of his time and he rolls his eyes and ignores me. Luckily for me the other man working at the time was kind enough to give me the time of day and let me know that if I write my name and tracking # down he can reschedule the delivery. In my frustration I let the rude man know that it's not hard to be kind and just not speak in a rude way. He then proceeded to threaten me letting me know he'd hurt me if I didnt leave the store. When I asked why he'd beat someone over a mail he said he'd be "doing other things". I let him know that i'd let the police know if he touches me and he said "call my godfather hes part of the police look him up". Nice. Now you think because you have family in the force you're above the law. The guy is willing to make death threats to a customer for the slightest inconvenience. Parking seems to be the only pain when it comes to this location. When you can find it easily, that's the biggest signal that they aren't crowded. As far as the customer service, it's efficient and quick. You're not standing in line too long because the employees move around and handle business efficiently. What I love about this location is the different provisions that are offered to handle b business. There's plenty of P.O boxes, self service machine, plenty of packaging and boxes to ship items. Mail carrier lost our building key, again. This is the 3rd time. Whoever Bree is, she doesn't listen to the loud speaker or her supervisors. We waited 15 minutes for her to go collect my mail. She never came so supervisor had to do it herself. Manager, is never there, no email, no phone number- it's like she knows her building is trash so she doesn't put her name on it. This USPS location is beyond a nightmare--it's a complete disaster! The staff are the most incompetent, rude, and lazy people you will ever encounter. I've never been treated so badly by anyone in customer service, and this place takes the cake. I walked in, smiling and trying to be polite, but the employee couldn't even be bothered to glance in my direction. The attitude was disgusting, and I haven't even mentioned the so-called "manager"--she's even worse! If the manager is that unprofessional, it's no wonder the employees are so awful. The service is painfully slow--there were three employees literally just sitting there, gossiping away like they were at a coffee shop while over 17 people waited in line! Just FYI, this location is dedicated to Marvin Gaye who actually died near here. So props to all the mailworkers who have to deal with all the bs that is going on. It's bad enough you have to deal with the elements, dogs and risking life and limb going to the worse neighborhoods, but now with politic trash. In light of the pandemic going on these guys are still out there delivering our mail. Amazingly I haven't noticed everything is still getting delivered ina reasonable time. Only one person works the window. If you are picking up a package, that person doesn't start until 9:30am even though the post office opens at 8:30am. Don't bother going to the blue door and ringing the doorbell or knocking for help with vacation hold mail pick up because they will never answer it. Do not make money orders here unless you want your money lost. The passport acceptance agent failed to submit my money order with my passport application and as a result delayed the entire process. I went in person to get clarification and was dismissed several times by employees claiming the only person with access to money orders was the agent who I never saw again. After speaking with USPS customer service and opening an investigation, I was advised to go in and speak with Deneen. She went through a manila envelope filled with lost money orders. Looks like a mistake that is continuously occurring. She apologized and informed me that the agent was moved to a different US Post Office. I felt uncomfortable as an employee followed me to my car to ask me for my phone number after I declined the first time. Overall, horrible experience and I will never step foot there. read more

Wow I have been meaning to write this: Please don't steal people's packages. I would say 95% of the staff here have no intention of helping with 5% of the staff actually trying to help as inefficient as they are. The 95% of the staff will always listen to you and then tell you: "I can't help you", "It is not our responsibility", "It is a human error": like really? I am like is it possible for you to do your job correctly. The people here are friendly, but basically there are no results or resolution to anything. I would say this location is a mixture of incompetence with a touch of someone with sticky fingers internally stealing items based on my perception. When and if USPS will actually do an investigation on this location, I am not so sure. I keep on seeing reviews on different LA USPS offices of people missing packages so there clearly are bad workers within the LA branch of USPS. I am from San Francisco and this has not happened to me before. I opened a PO Box and had an international package delivered here from UPS. A worker here signed for it and then when I went to pick it up, they couldn't find it. Their apparent answer was that if they couldn't find the package, it should have been returned to sender. I went to the UPS customer center on Blaine Street and they told me that this issue happens between USPS and UPS all the time where they never give the return to sender packages back. Their GPS coordinate tracking indicates that the package is still with this post office "somewhere". Also, I did talk to some of the workers here and they just told me to claim for the lost package even though it says delivered. Clearly, someone at this branch is taking people's packages and then telling people to claim the lost package while they keep the items. Based on my overall experience, I would say even with a PO Box expect packages and mail to go missing. I would say to follow these rules. 1) If USPS, please ship items here below $100 or even $80 that you don't mind go missing or have a chance of being stolen. Do not ship cash, gift cards, gift certificates, personal checks, and cashier's checks with a chance to go missing. Also, if you have an international package, be aware that your package may go missing either to their inability to read the label or that someone there took it. Use Paypal or a credit card in case you need to claim the loss. 2) If UPS, use UPS My Access to reroute your packages to a UPS pickup point or the UPS customer center on Blaine. If you use that option, make sure to input your address first onto UPS My Access to make sure the entire address matches. For the 90007 area, the city is called Dockweiler in UPS address and not Los Angeles. If you use Los Angeles, the UPS My Access will not redirect. 3) If FedEx, redirect using the tracking info to a Walgreens for pickup. 4) For DHL, reroute and pickup at access point on Sacramento Street. I have done this after that first fatal incident and have not had an issue. Also, if you sign up for a PO Box here, make sure they have your name and unit number on the PO Box itself as well as on their internal clipboard. Failure to do so will make your package have a higher chance of going missing. I would say I have no issue with UPS, FedEx, and DHL deliveries. USPS is something you need to keep an eye out on. Also for this location to maximize your chances of getting the item, make sure to go on the day the package or letter says it is delivered so they have a higher chance of finding it. If you need a package delivered for sure, I would look into an off center PO Box location with trustworthy owners as well as workers. The outside PO Box location told me they have to match the USPS price as well as duration so it makes sense to me. read more

I mailed two letters in November going to different locations, form the same place, neither of them made it. I'm still waiting for an expensive gift from Christmas 2022. It took three months for me to get two packages at different times, from different places. They once delivered a package for Los Angeles to Inglewood. If I could give ZERO stars I would. Save your time and go somewhere where you don't have to wait 30 minutes in line for one form. Today I came around 3:20pm. First time before I came today line was unbearable with one person by themself helping the line already reaching the door. I ended up just leaving. Second time which was today I tried again to update a change to my address and the line was the same way but I stayed since it's the closest one to me, Unfortunately for me I got the new guy who was with someone having that had to watch him work and help guide him; I asked for the address change form and he spoke very unclearly and gave mumbled instructions. I told him to repeat it and he was just mute then changed what he said the first time about needing to scan the ID after filing out the form. Other locations take your form and check ID right at the window and it's done correctly. Instead here they're just like "um drop it in the box over there or mail it" Why do the workers also shun people away when they have questions or need a form that they can fill out while they are in line. They act like they can't answer your question. It's a simple job. Absolutely lazy and poor service and wastes people's time and energy. Please find a better system here and team. read more

I hate this post office! I tried to cancel a money order and had to wait in line for an hour while 1 person served customers. Another did passports, and when finished with passports just disappeared and left the other worker by himself. The sole worker took his sweet time between customers, and didn't even try to look busy or friendly or helpful. Dude I'm sorry if you hate your job but do you have to make everyone else suffer for that? One-legged guy on crutches had to wait an hour with the rest of us with no accommodation. In the end I couldn't get my money order cancelled because they claimed they didn't have enough cash on hand ($200). I had seen him do 3 money orders for over $500 while waiting. Conveniently located across from some, this post office boasts numerous lazy employees who refuse to do anything helpful if it's past lunchtime. These people act like their jobs and duties are something optional. You work here, literally have to serve us. That's how it works. Save yourself the time, energy, and frustration and to go a different post office. Started off using the automated machine. Had to go through the process twice because it wasn't adding the unit number on the recipient's address. Double-checked both times. Figured I would write the unit number on the printed label, machine printed my return address as the sender address. Time to go to the window and get this fixed. Two tellers, both doing passports. NO ONE to take care of regular customers, which numbered about 10 just standing around while passports were taken care of. Then, one of them just leaves their window, leaving 1 person to take care of customers. She helps about 6 customers before it is time for another passport. No one comes out to help until 10 minutes later. When I finally got to the teller, 30 minutes after standing in line, he told me I used the machine wrong, even though I am not an idiot AND I double-checked the address TWICE. If you want to fix things at this post office, hire more workers (or make the 7 that I saw walking around and sitting doing nothing do their jobs) and stop blaming customers for technical errors. read more

It sucks that things are in turmoil and that everybody is in a perpetual bad day. I hate bad reviews, and I hate poor behavior but I am going to consider this a "paying it forward" and hope that the woman who was belligerent with me will read this. I didn't get her name because I was really taken aback- this should be a 1 star review but I am so over the negative and I completely get the frustrations everybody has. One of them knocked on the door because we haven't seen a human face the duration I had been standing there and an employee came out to confront me and immediately assumed me- the only white person to have done so. I get the air of the crappy racist sentiment that has been present and have been sensitive to this and I get where she is coming from given the abundance of Karen's stomping around. I didn't do it ,but I did appreciate somebody else recognizing how long we had been waiting. Nobody wants to be tucked inside with strangers these days. She came back out and was abrupt- hey she is having a bad day and sadly had zero ability to try and smooth things over with her misunderstanding. Shit is volatile- I get it. After a while she stomped out and yelled "here" for someone to drop the eviscerated box in the parcel pick up slot and stormed off. No chance to tell her that I was just waiting and was fine with the time, no chance to wish her a better day- nothing. All of the plates are present and the contents aren't damaged. I'll consider that a win in times of covid-19. We take what we can get ? I am deeply saddened to be someone else's outlet for frustration, but fuck me I get it. I really hope that she can find the air of change to be relieving and she can find a better outlet than perpetuating the pain onto others. If I could punch a racist for her I would ,but distancing directly gets in the way of it. I hope she reads this and knows that I get it. There is definitely some racism going on in this location if you go there you will know what I'm talking about. Don't ship from this location, cause they will loose your package (aka steel it) as I didn't learn my lesson until I shipped with them twice in different occasions and th3 packages never made it to its destination, and had a package shipped with them and was held at this location and got lost, a $925 package was held there how did they loose it, so again aka stole it. Made a passport appointment to this location on 1/26/23 for 2/23/23 at 1:30pm. When I arrived they told me that they haven't offered passport services since October 2022 and nothing could be done about it. Both my husband and I took time off from work and they just said I had to reschedule or go to the post office on central and maybe they would take us, but they usually don't honor appointments after 12 noon. I waited in line to mail a package and obtain a receipt showing it was mailed. The line moved pretty quickly. When it was my turn, the first thing the woman clerk said to me was I could have used self service. I told her I was aware of that but need a receipt. Then she said it would give me a receipt, all I have to do is READ the instructions, they are easy to understand. I couldn't believe I was being spoken to in that manner. Was she calling me dumb or is she just lazy! If you don't want to service customers, then you need to be in the back throwing boxes or sorting mail. If I want to be waited on by a real person, that's why she is there. I have had other dealings with employees at this post office and they are rude and inconsiderate.
