This post office is absolutely terrible. Their laziness and lack of customer service are beyond frustrating. My package was marked as "available for pick up," so I made a trip to the post office. When I spoke to the first employee, I explained the situation and she asked for my address, then quickly went to the back. Less than a minute later, she returned, saying my package wasn't there and might be delivered the next day. No effort, no care, just a brush-off. I left and called USPS customer service, who told me the package was probably in the bin for tomorrow's delivery and suggested I speak to a manager. I returned and spoke to a different employee, who asked for my ID (which the first person didn't even bother to request). She went to the back and actually checked, coming out with my package. So how did my package magically appear when the first employee said it wasn't there? Her laziness is the only explanation. She didn't bother to do her job, didn't check properly, and wasted my time. It's infuriating that one employee took the easy way out while another did what should have been done from the start. This kind of service is unacceptable, and this post office needs to do better and stop hiring lazy ass people. read more

I would like to leave a glowing review for such a nice and helpful gentleman named Bernard. For the last two days, I was stressed over a package that said it was delivered however it was not in my mailbox. I filed a claim today and within the hour, I received a call from Bernard from this USPS location. I was pleasantly surprised to hear from an actual human being, who reassured me that he will be working on this case and he will give me updates throughout the day. Not only did Bernard call me with updates, but he called me with some great news that my package was located. He asked me if I can come stop at the USPS and pick it up and mention that since their doors are locked, I will have to give them a call when I arrive. I arrived to USPS, but unfortunately, the phone lines were already down, I felt like if I waited a little bit, he would check the door and he did. I'm so grateful for his patience, his time, and just being such a good person. USPS is usually really on it with delivering packages, this is actually my first experience with something being delivered to the wrong address. But wow within hours going from discouraged to finally having my package in my hands thanks to Bernard. I'm so incredibly grateful he is such an asset to this location. I just want to let it be known that I really appreciated him taking time out of his day to keep in touch with me every step of the way until I physically picked up the package, even though their location had technically already locked their doors. The absolute worst post office anywhere in America! I come here multiple times a week because it's the one to go to in my neighborhood. The majority of the women working the counters are just plain miserable and rude. If you don't like your job then get another one, but why is it everytime the same attitude. Even if you try to go above and beyond to be friendly they will just be flat out rude. Over the past year this place has just fallen apart. The window drop off has broken and they haven't fixed in a year, so if you have an oversized package then they will most likely not want to help you because they have to get up and walk around. Then the blue drop box is broken and they have refused to fix that for about a year as well. So when dropping off you literally have to wait in a long line with 1 person who will 9 times out of 10 be rude because they hate their job, or you have to ring the bell then wait forever for someone to come. Most people like receipts for their tracking so they can rest assured their packages are tracked but getting that here is a big chore. Most the time the self kiosk system is broken or not working too or jams up. For instance machine wasn't working when I arrived and I had to wait in line but then once at the counter the woman was rude telling me I had too many packages and that she's the only one working. Well how is that my fault that they only have 1 person working the counter. Packages are ready to go and just need to be scanned and then get a receipt, very easy and very simple, yet this seems to be a huge problem for the women at the counter! This place is mismanaged and they need more employees and a review so they can re-train some of their staff on how to be more friendly and what their job description entails. It's not right how this location operates. People use this post office a lot and pay good money for their packages yet when we arrive it's just rude city here and having to walk on egg shells for the sensitive window employees who are not happy having to be there. Are there any good post offices? Maybe in some small towns, but definitely not in LA. I hate to say it, but there is a reason the business model for the US Post Service is failing; They suck!! So at this Ray Charles location, it mostly sucks too. I gave it two starts for it's name and the readily available parking spaces. I've been using this post office for 20 years and the sucky-ness of this location has neither improved or worsened. It's always sucked and remains quiet sucky to this day. Ms. Kim, a new post agent, is unknowingly so damn aggressive. I will wait extra just not to get her. There was a handsome, tall clerk who was a ray of sunshine, but was promoted and moved up. A few years ago, they literally gave me outdated paperwork for Passports, and I filled it all out, made my appointment and went downtown and was denied because I had outdated paperwork. I do wish the whole post office service of the United States would get their act together, so they can compete and survive. But if they don't, it will be no fault, but their own. read more

This post office has the LAZIEST people I have ever encountered. There is a reason I usually go to the one on Venice bc every time I come here I'm shocked by another level of rudeness or laziness. Went in to get a receipt for a few pre-paid packages. I have a small biz and do this weekly but typically go to ALL the other locations in the surrounding area bc customer service is better and people are nicer. THERE IS NO ONE ELSE IN LINE, NOT A SOUL INSIDE THE MAIN ROOM. The woman directs me to the self service kiosk - sure, no problem. There's a family of 10 trying to send packages I wait for 5 mins but I'm in a rush which is why I came to this terrible location to begin with so I go back to the lady who is literally twiddling her thumbs doing nothing and I'm like they're gonna be a while I need to get a receipt. Then she tells me the limit is 5 packages and huffs and puffs that she has to - you know - do her job. Literally takes 30 secs. Let me be clear: I go to every single other surrounding location on the reg and everyone is so nice and accommodating. I have literally gone with 40 packages to check in and they just help me bc that's their job. I even know all the people at the other locations by name. This is the most uninviting and off putting post office location I have ever visited. Except for a couple of clerks, most of the clerks are rude and condescending and like to yell at clients to get out of line and use the self service kiosk. It is okay to inform customers of the kiosk, but it is not okay to do it in such an aggressive, rude, flippant condescending and THREATENING manner. This is by far the absolutely worst customer experience I've ever encountered and it's quite disgusting. I went to pick up a package that I missed since I wasn't home at the time. One lady directed me to the blue door to push a button so someone can assist me. I went to the door and pushed the button multiple times - almost 15 minutes has past and still no one responded. I went back in line, told the lady that no one was responding to the door. Before I had the chance to finish my sentence she cut me off and said "you have to give them a chance to get to the door". I then proceeded to explain to her that I pushed the button multiple times and have been waiting a while, but she went ahead and still said the same thing "you have to give them a chance to get to the door". I then asked her very kindly, "do you know about how long it will take?" She then flat out ignored me and didn't respond to my question. Well, unlike most of the reviews I've read about this post office my experiences here have been nothing but pleasant. My daughter was going to school in New York, so I was constantly sending get packages. The employees were always helpful with ensuring that I sent the packages at the most responsible rate possible. They always told me the importance of insurance but never pressured me into purchasing it if I didn't see a need. This dirty unkept post office has reached it's ALL TIME LOW! I swore I would never return to this filthy place that looks like it should be on Skid Row, but I happened to be in the area and needed to drop a package off and it was close to closing time. As I stated in the past, the staff members here are a joke! This group is so unprofessional ad idifferet about everything.. you find yourself looking around to see if there's a hidden camara somewhere because SURELY this must be a joke of some kind and we're all being televised! lol Here's the latest, they have a postal clerk, an elderly Asian woman waaaay past retirement age, who not only has minimal command of the English language, she is the ANGRIEST and MOST RUDE person I've ever encountered working in a government job! Not only is she rude, she is also very immature in her dialogue with patrons. It's actually hysterical to observe once you get over the initial shock that the US government has yet...once again... hired from the bottom of the barrel. CLEARLY this woman is on PSYCH MEDS ( no joke intended) and neglected to take her recommended dosage prior to entering her work place. What a character! I was so shocked by the behavior this elderly worker displayed, I was afraid she was going to come out from behind her protected glass and " go postal " on the patrons! I asked another worker about her ODD behavior and...listen to this...when asked I asked if something is wrog with her and do they get get complaints about her behavior...the response was " EVERYDAY". An older age Asian woman with bob cut hair yelled at me the whole time when I arrived there at 2:57 pm. She can't carry a simple conversation or answer a question without yelling and expressing her annoyance. I was returning something with a printed label. But didn't have envelope so I looked around to find a white priority envelope by the line. I stood in line for my turn to ask if that was what I needed to use. But I hear her yelling from inside through her speaker while helping another man in front of me. She yelled "we close at 3. SO you not ready, I can't help you." So I said " oh? I wanted to ask you if I should use this because I've never done this before so I don't know what to use. " She continued to yell, "omg! You are not ready, we can't help you! Omg! No! That's free! That's for priority! You have label? You need to buy! " and pointing to the corner with brown paper bags for sale. So I replied " okay, I can buy" I got to the window. She yells you don't have tape for the label? Omg.... We don't give tape! You can't ship!" I asked, " do you have any tape for sale?" She yells. " you want to buy? Yes, we have tape to sell" I replied "yes, where do you have it? Is it there?" Pointing at the corner where I got the brown envelope. She yells " no! Everyone takes it if we leave it there. It's here! You want to buy it? " I said " Yes. Do I hand you this label? " She continued to yell. " No, you do that! I don't do that! You tape your own label! Just wait! I had one more regular letter size envelope that I wanted to mail so I asked her if she can send this priority for me as well. But when she put it in her priority mail envelope. The written zip code was half covered by the border outline of the priority envelope. She yells again, " omg, you wrote too low! We can't see! See?! We can't see the zip code now in this envelope! Omg!! ! You fill this sticker out! I tape the label! Give it to me!" She slips over the sticker with from/ to for priority mail. So I wrote the addresses and hand it to her! She said " we close at 3 on Saturday! What time is it now? " I remained silent and didn't want to snap at her. It was only 3:05 pm. I believe it would have been much faster if she knew how to listen and talk without yelling. I asked for receipt for the returning package. But she waves her hand in front of my face as if I am a little kid. She said "wait!" She lacks social skills and understanding of her job or the customers who doesn't have any direction. It caused me so much stress to deal with her for few minutes I was there. So I can only imagine how people who has to deal with her daily suffers. I hope she treats her coworkers better than her customers. The African American worker next to her was really polite. She said " please give me a few minutes, I will open the door for you" and as she was opening the door to let me out she said " have a wonderful rest of the weekend! Okay?" .. ....... I wished her great weekend as well. It comes to show such simple courtesy goes long way with others. This lady seemed so magical with using "please" and normal calming tone after dealing with the rude lady. Props to the African American worker who helped me with the door. Shame on the Asian woman! The award for most rude and condescending employee in the U.S. goes to Tamika Mason , employee at the USPS on La Brea and Washington Blvd. It was a really tough decision because to be quite honest , 99% of the employees there deserve the award too. They definitely all get a participation trophy. Mason gets a rating of 0 for her customer service skills, 0 for her communication skills which averages out to an overall score of 0. If this happens to be your local post office, I suggest you get a PO box elsewhere because I consistently have packages say that they were "delivered" and signed with my initials even though they weren't. The problem is clearly internal theft by mail carriers. After multiple times of this happening I started to have my packages set for pick up at this branch which is unfortunately the only option that USPS provides me. This is where I had the misfortune of meeting Tamika Mason. On a scale from 1-10 her kindness is a -100. Clearly she needs therapy and anger management classes and I sincerely hope she can get those. So please be warned, if you're ordering generic items from Amazon and feel ok taking a risk and simply filing a claim if you don't receive them, you'll be ok. But if you are getting an important, or valuable item shipped to you, stay away from this location. I feel like there needs to be an undercover investigation of this location because it is out of control. Especially how they treat their customers, I've never witnessed anything like it. They are however extremely vigilant of any customer recording or even taking a pic inside. I noticed an elderly lady get screamed at for taking a close up picture of the package she was sending. She wanted proof of her sending the package to someone and was facing the wall when she did that, however the employee wasted no time and began yelling at her claiming she had committed a federal crime by photographing inside a USPS location. A simple and kind explanation would have been sufficient. I will be looking into this because this may be their tactic for being able to treat people however they like with any repercussions. I will be speaking with my lawyer about the legality of the claims made by the employee. Theres a difference between their policy and the law and if I'm not mistaken, you are able to photograph and record at the post office so long as it's within the public areas. US Post Office - USPS LOCATION ON WASHINGTON BLVD AND LA BREA - Post Offices Near Me - Los Angeles, California

DO NOT COME TO THIS POST OFFICE! This post office was just about the worst one I have visited! None of the post offices in the area of Los Angeles are good, but this one is even worse than the one located right near my house in downtown. It makes the downtown location look like a palace! And the downtown location is horrible too because those employees make up their own hours and just tape up paper signs to the door when they want to close and leave early for the day! But nothing is as bad in comparison to this location! I was trying to mail some cards internationally for my graduation to my family. I told the clerk that I was mailing these to Canada and to Italy. She understood that or at least she acted like she did then proceeds to keep asking the other clerk which stamps need to be used because she obviously did not know what she was doing! She gets out the stamps that are for the USA forever stamps, I questioned her on that because I knew those were not the right ones, the ones that go for international mail, have a flower on them, and they say global. She kept assuring me that those were the right ones and Was definitely getting a snippy attitude because she kept thinking that I was questioning her. But it's because she was wrong! So she goes ahead and charges me for the USA stamps that I did not ask for, then tells me to put the stamps on myself, I then tell her how these are going international Mail, and then she blames me, saying that I did not tell her that these are going to Italy in Canada, she told me that these could not be exchanged, and cannot be refunded so that I had to keep the Forever stamps and pay the difference and purchase the global stamps. Keep in mind that should've been done the first time, and I should not have to do another transaction! I told her this is her fault and USPS's fault because I did not ask for those. She proceeds to turn off her microphone and starts mouthing off and calling me names, and cursing me out to the coworker and saying I'm not going to go back-and-forth with her and other words of profanity, and very bad language! It was absolutely appalling, and there was no need to talk to a customer that way ever! I was very calm about the whole situation And it should've been a 2 to 3 minute. Transaction turned into about 15 to 20 minutes! Finally, she finds the stamps with the help of her manager and I told her how I was not paying the difference for her mistake, so finally she goes and pulls the money out from her own purse And pays me the difference, it was very ghetto and not professional at all, because that is not policy that you can go into your personal belongings and pay a customer out of your own pocket! But at that point, I did not even care because I was owed that since she did not do what she was supposed to do. And nothing about her outfits said that she was a USPS postal worker, she had on a brown trenchcoat and casual clothing. If she was not behind the counter, I would've thought that she was just another customer. Absolutely ridiculous, they have no rules and no supervision over there. I will never return to this post office again, because I hope that the letter will show up to Canada and Italy. This incompetent worker even gave me the correct, postage! Absolutely ridiculous. These people do not know their a-s-s from a hole in the ground. Mind you I have work to get to, and I was quickly stopping by on my lunch break, this, of course, mishap made me late to work, and I got in trouble with my manager because I was late getting back! The employees here need to be properly trained or better yet this post office, location should be closed down! The USPS, customer service and general helpfulness if there ever was any has definitely declined to nothing over the years, and I am highly disappointed in them! I regret that I forgot to get her name, but the 5-star review is for the lady I spoke to on the phone the afternoon of Monday May 13. I called regarding a package intercept that had gone wrong and had been stuck at this branch for days. She went out of her way to take my information (and you know how annoyingly long those tracking numbers can get) and went searching for literally 20+ minutes to locate my package. That had to have been a royal pain in the a** but she was professional, patient, and polite the whole time. If it wasn't for her my package could have very well been lost.
