This is probably the best PO on the west side. Parking is tight, but the service is superior.

This is my local post office, and it's become a gem. I have taken to walking there on the way to the beach, or dropping by with a quick project. The staff has been super courteous and friendly, and I appreciate their hard work on behalf of the community. Be nice to these guys, especially when it gets super-crowded in the line or the parking lot. read more

This location is relatively easy to maneuver on a weekday, but the service is inconsistent. Parking is available on both sides of the building. Ramon is incredibly pleasant to work with while Rajah is incredibly rude. I stopped by on a Friday afternoon with a couple of questions regarding a package I planned to ship, and I was met curt, cold, and unacceptable customer service with Rajah. She answered my questions under her breath so I could not hear her and didn't provide me with all of my shipping options, even though there were only a couple of people waiting in line behind me. I decided to ship my package at another location because of her service - I hope to personally give her this feedback in the future. read more

Opened an online account and input all my information to create the account, and was on the final screen after confirming my information , including my two security questions (place of birth and favorite sport) and my mailing address (a PO Box), and the submit button kept changing color to indicate responsiveness to my touch, with a quick star circle that said loading, but it didn't look like it was processing properly. Later, after I placed a call to the USPS Technical Issues department, the website said it neither recognized my account name nor my password for the account I had just set up. Furthermore, the usps telephone representative wasn't even in the usps computer system, indicating mail and wire fraud and phishing. read more

One of the worse USPS in California. Two of the same people always working here, usually one cashier is available sometimes both. Always long lines and the workers are very rude insulting me and yelling at me to leave when I come ask why 4 packages I dropped last week didn't even get scanned at all while another one was delivered. The 4 package were obviously stolen from their tables as this post office has no drop box for packages (wow!) and high number of shady crowd. Never offer help even after hours in line, just insulting and aggressive to a business customer that use USPS hundreds of times a year. Both the man and the lady working here shouldn't be working in any customer service position, very offensive and out of line. Not even complaining about my package stolen from their table, but about the way they handle customers. read more

A semi-secret, tucked away little post office right in my 'hood! Lucky me! Chirstmastime notwithstanding, it's usually fairly empty and easy to get your packages sent, stamps bought... you know, all of your regular post office things. The people who work there are really nice. Don't be scared by the loud and gruff older man who usually sits on the lefthand side of the counter. He's really a sweetheart under his rough exterior. Just a few complaints: No automatic postage machine, so if there's a line for the counter you have to stand in it. Oh, and they're very very strict about their credit card policy. If your signature isn't on the back of your card they won't accept it (even if it says 'please check ID' like it does on the back of mine.) So if you're the type who doesn't sign your credit cards for security, make sure you bring your debit card or cash. Other than that it's easy peasy to get stuff done here, and that's a rare thing to say for a post office! Go snail mail! read more

I've come in here several times because I live right by this post office and the lady who works at the counter has been rude to me EVERY SINGLE TIME. Today, when I came in, there was another very nice lady (I've never seen her there before) at the door who helped me figure out what box I need and how to ship internationally. Then, when I got to the desk to pay, I was trying to figure out whether I want tracking or not so I looked something up online. There was no one else at the post office and another man working behind the counter who could take customers had any come in (which no one did). The lady behind the counter was rolling her eyes at me and telling me "common, make a decision now!" She was extremely rude and made me feel like she was doing me a favor by taking my packages. This is my neighborhood post office, and these employees are by far much nicer and helpful compared to any other postal worker I have known. They know me, and they are always willing to help me and ask how I am. Lines move quickly, unless there is some annoying customer mailing 50 million packages at once and then realizes you can't ship liquids. Either way, the three guys who work there are great. They aren't open for service on Saturdays (except PO Boxes are accessible). Parking can be a pain/limited, but like I said it moves. read more

The staff are pretty rude. I've been going there for years and you really have to be over friendly with them to be treated decently in return. They both (the only two that work there) seem to be happy when I don't have enough postage on something and have to pay more. The Pros: This place is within walking distance of my home (but for those of you with cars, the parking situation is a nightmare - so you might want to avoid this post office if you can). Also, it's usually not too crowded in the middle of the day. The Cons: Ramon, one of the postal workers. He was especially rude to me, hence this review. I was talking to my mother (via a mouthpiece, attached to my phone) while I waited in line to get my mail. Now, before you think: Oh she's one of THOSE people - who yaps loudly on her phone, completely oblivious to the unsolicited noise pollution she is spewing.... Uhhh, NO. If they were giving out awards for *Person Most Likely To Be Considerate Of Other People In Their Surroundings*, I would win. Every Dang Year I would win. I hate to be immodest, as I'm certainly not perfect, but I damn sure know my strengths by now. Anyhoo, as I'm waiting in line, I talk into a magazine & lower my voice, so as not to invade the ears of my fellow wait-ers. I notice another man ahead of me talking on his cell phone, as well as people in line talking to each other. A man in a wheelchair starts talking really loudly to his companion, then he starts yelling disparaging comments at the postal workers - in a seemingly friendly manner, though. He's so loud that I can hardly hear what my mother is saying, but whatever, no one cares to admonish him (& rightly so, I think). He stops shouting after awhile & we all continue our conversations. Eventually, it's my turn to approach Ramon at the counter. I politely request my mail, he gets it & hands it to me, I smile & graciously thank him. I start to head toward the exit, but realize that the door is locked. Ramon had locked both exit/entrance doors precisely at 5:00 pm (this is typical for him to do), so that no more customers can enter the post office after Closing time. However, this also means that the customers who are already inside get locked IN, until he comes out from behind the counter & lets us out. (By the way, isn't this against the law? I mean, in case of a fire - aren't we supposed to have access to at least one unlocked door? Hell-o??) I look around to see that he's with another customer already, so I wait until he finishes, to let me out. No biggie; I can wait. (As long as a fire doesn't start, of course - in that case, he better duck.) In the meantime, I turn around to face the wall next to the door (so as not to project my normal-toned voice onto everyone else, mind you) & I continue speaking with my mother. Then I hear Ramon say: "EXCUSE ME, CAN YOU TALK LOWER?" I was so flabbergasted when I realized he was speaking TO ME, that I think my initial response was "Huh?" I took a moment, looked around at the remaining people in line WHO HAD ALSO BEEN TALKING AT 'NORMAL' LEVELS, & let's just say that Hell hath no fury like a woman being treated unjustly. Oh Hell Naw. Are we in a library? A church? A place where silence or hushed voices is/are mandatory - or even appropriate? Um, NO, little man. Also, you've seen to it that I'm TRAPPED in this post office until You unlock the door - am I supposed to hang up on my mother while I wait to be released?? And even more important: How dare you single ME out for doing something that (nearly) EVERYONE ELSE in that post office was doing?? Gee, for SOME reason, Ramon, you felt no need to admonish the shouting MAN in the wheelchair, or the rather loud MAN on his cell phone... am I picking up on something discriminatory in nature here? Hmmmm. So I say to Ramon (in a civil manner, believe it or not) "Ya know, that's really rude. I'm not the only person talking in here." He comes out from behind the counter & proceeds to unlock the door so I can finally escape his smarmy face - yet he CONTINUES to REPRIMAND ME on my way out the door: "No, YOU'RE being rude, blah, blah, blah." I have no idea what else he said, because frankly, if you refuse to listen to me - I refuse to hear you. Simple as that, really. I just know I had to get out of there before I unleashed a torrent of F-bombs on him with my poor, sweet mother on the phone. My mother, who - for the record - is the only person in history who's ever been allowed to *reprimand* me. So that'll be the F-ing Day when a rude little postal employee named Ramon gets to do it.... But I'm not bitter. I just hope, for his sake, that Ramon learns to keep his sexist little mouth shut - the next time he hears a Grown-ass Woman SPEAK. (Hint: we don't blindly obey *authority* (LMAO), we don't apologize or acquiesce when we've done nothing wrong, & we don't whisper whilst men are permitted to shout.) read more

Opening the doors on time, even with the limited schedule they have, should be a simple task. But the SaMo Post Office near Ocean Park and Neilson just seems to have a hard time. I head to work each Saturday morning and make a detour to pick up my mail. 3 out of the last 5 times at 9:00am the doors were still locked (opening time says 7:30a.m.) Others were standing outside angry just as I was. I was told it happens frequently. I don't know how they get away with this. P.O. box fees here are outrageous. read more

The only reason it's got stars at all is because the gentleman was kind and helpful. Kathy "with a K" watched me tape an entire box, only to tell me that I couldn't use that tape. Not another person there - she waited until I walked up to tell me I couldn't ship with that tape. I LOVE this post office! In Hollywood, post offices are a pain the waits are so long and the staff are so overworked that I can't blame them for seeming half asleep. But, this post office is TOTALLY different. I cannot emphasize enough the short wait (which is unusual for USPS) and the lady (I can't for the life of me remember her name, she is a dark lady that works at the left register) she is the sweetest woman and will always help you so fast and so friendly love her!! I just moved from Santa Monica. It's been a year now and one of not many things I miss is this P.O. People there are nice, helpful and friendly. Yep, sometimes the line could be long. But since I was home all the time, so I could just go when it was supposed to be less crowded. Sometimes I happened to hit a busy time. One of the reasons was because they tried to help their customers by explaining things, answering questions. So it could get slow. But that was understandable and no big deal for me. read more

This post office is tiny so it's really only an outpost of postal convenience for locals like myself. While there are 3 registers, I've never seen more than 2 open so there can be a long wait during busy spurts. If you're not within walking distance, I'd recommend visiting another post office. read more

The only post office I don't dread going when I need to mail stuff. It's a smaller office, but line is only always shorter, a.c during the summer months, and staff is nicer than the usual/other post office/government workers. Maybe it's because the beach is just a walk a way, but nevertheless the staff is better and they do take care of your package! read more
