Customer service has always been excellent and often times, the people here go above and beyond to help & always with a smile! Busy Bee: Yes, at times, the line can be quite long, but patience is key, especially leading up to the holidays! There are usually two & once in a while, three stations open & they do a great job getting people through the line as quickly as they can! Parking: Free & plentiful! Note: There are numerous gift cards, as well as fun and thoughtful greeting cards to look at while waiting in line! Also, plenty of post office boxes, lockers to retrieve some of your packages & a station where you can weigh your own items and get postage to mail your package! They also have a variety of cool stamps to choose from, which I always enjoy! Outside: There are also gorgeous flowers & plants along the side of the post office gate & walkway! Fun Sightings: Often times, I've even seen cute dogs in line with their friendly owners! Once, someone started singing as we waited in a line! Overall: Over the years, I've "always" had a pleasant experience & leave with a smile! Everything. Absolutely everything. Customer service is the pits. I've had personal mail packages stolen from my residence because workers just dump everything to the floor despite online requests (via website/app) with instructions to please leave at front doorstep to broken, cracked merchandise . I've repeatedly brought this up to no avail. I've lost at least 3 packages containing designer clothing to lobby poachers. Then there's the "lost in the mail"instance where a package that was sent back to USPS office never surfaced. No accountability, no concern, no friendly faces. Unless you're elderly and always there. Pffft. Hire NEW people at front desk please. New faces, new fresh and can-do attitudes would be great. It's gotten to the point that I have my personal shopping purchases mail sent to another postal service drop off provider in another CITY and COUNTY. USPS Venice stole a $2500 package that required a signature of an adult. The package was "Out for Delivery" in VENICE, CA 90291 on August 2, 2025, 7:44 am and by August 2, 2025, 9:52 pm there was an alert saying "Awaiting Delivery". Latest Update: We now anticipate delivery of your package the next business day. We apologize for the delay. That was almost 2 weeks ago and NOTHING. I am going to press charges as this is unacceptable and it's clear there's internal fraud taking place. read more

The post office provides a valuable service. I get that. I mean where else can you mail a letter anywhere for $0.55. And most of the employees are nice and helpful as can be. Been coming to this location for 17 years. However... Today I came in with an insurance claim - about $150 on an insured package. Supervisor Joyie is the worst - completely rude and unprofessional. Didn't know she was both an antiques AND forensics expert. Despite seeing the package completely mangled (see below), she insisted the damage was not caused by the post office and must have been caused by the shipper. Right... Pathetic customer service from a "supervisor." I feel sorry for the rank and file there - if she speaks to me, a customer, like that, imagine how she speaks to employees under her. Wish I could give zero stars. Unfortunately, this post office services where I live in the Marina. The incompetence of the people who "manage" this post office is zero to none. Several weeks ago, an opened priority package was delivered to my locked mailbox. The item in it, a birthday gift, from my dear friend in NY, an 88 year old woman, who went into the trouble of buying a gift for me and mailing it, was stolen. Now, I have no clue who might have stolen the item. However, my apartment complex provided me with footage of the mail-person delivering the already opened item. I called various numbers to file a complaint - 877-876-2455; 323-586-1250; 323-586-1200 - all to no avail. I also filed a report with the Sheriff's Office in Marina Del Rey, but what can the officers do? Quite understandably, they have bigger fish to fry. I had a problem with a missing package several months ago, that's why I'm all the more frustrated and upset. Looks like NOTHING will be done about this. Apparently, there will be no consequence for the mail-person who did not follow the alleged protocol of putting a stamp on the open package to document the problem, even though the "managers" know exactly who this person is. One of the managers gave a flimsy excuse to the effect of the stamp not working or out of ink. Then, she took my phone number and said she'd call me after looking into the matter. It's been 3 weeks and no call back! I went back to the post office 3 weeks later and another manager gave me a number to call. Ugh. Really? I informed her I'd already called that number and she gave me a blank stare and the same dismissive attitude, "we don't take complaints here." While I was at the post office the first time, there was a very irate customer who also said he was not receiving his packages. The "manager" was being very dismissive of this customer, so it seems to be an equal opportunity dismissive and unprofessional attitude. I'll stick to my Mar Vista Post Office for much better customer service. On the upside, the Filipino woman who works there (and I only put her race and gender for identification purposes and I'm only guessing she's Filipino) was very sympathetic and helpful in the two occasions I went to the Venice Post Office. I come here all the time. They always have only 1 or 2 people working & are as slow as molasses but they always provide the service, which I am thankful for. Be aware they open their doors at 9am, (sometimes a couple of min after) and they will be ready to lock that front door at 4:59pm, so when the clock strikes 5pm you are SOL. I had a friend send me a package to my Venice address. The package showed "delivered & left in mailbox by carrier" however the interesting part is I don't have a mailbox. I filed 2 claims and nothing was ever resolved. The representatives on the phone were so nasty and mean. I literally had to give up and let it go because it was not worth my time and energy - everyone had a defensive attitude, no one was willing to help and I must've dealt with 5 people over the course of a couple weeks. In August I ordered an icemaker and I was having it delivered to my place in Marina Del Rey. They did not deliver it... because at my building they notify you every time you get a package and it was very sketchy when I got a notice saying that they delivered to my zip code and no address. I checked with each of the package room and I checked with all of the resident service is people and nobody ever saw that package. I filed a complaint and plaint and they said they were going to get it for me and that I had insurance so I would get the money back the money back. The only call I got was a brief call from some woman very hurried saying that they would be looking into it do it and what do you know the next thing I got was a survey saying how did my service go with my problem . Never a word never a resolution it was terrible. The 2 women that work at the window are lazy and they don't care about their job I went in now twice to try and get informed delivery for delivery for Marina Del Rey. I have a permanent mailbox up in Sarah madre but I want to get informed delivery for delivery for my things at Marina Del Rey especially because of this debacle that happened with the Post Office The one woman told me I needed to have a barcode for her to scan so I went back on the website again and said I was doing it in person and they gave me a barcode. The 2nd woman scanned the bar code And then it asked for 2 forms of ID .. So much for doing what tbey want and it not being enough. I gave them my passport and then they wanted another form of ID which I do not have my new address on I tried to show them that I pay rent to that place by the payment app and she said it wasn't acceptable and that I would need to find an i.d. with my new address on it which I will never have. I'm not changing my driver's license because I don't know how long I'll live here and and I have a permanent P.O. Box up in Sierra madre. I'm sorry but this should be an easy thing, there should be some trust, I WELL showed who I was Gah! there should be some accommodation to actually serve people but these people really hate their jobs. It's like they're so stuck with the rules that they don't see people. Why on Earth would I want to have informed delivery at a place that I'm not at? They could see that the pictures were me. They could have seen that I actually pay my rent there if they would have Looked at the app I had on my phone they said that apps weren't allowed. Well get with this Century! I asked to talk to the postmaster tomorrow on the phone to see if anything can be done about either situation. For all I know one of the postal people is sitting at home making ice with my ice maker. I want to note something. I am only talking about the people who work in the Post Office at the desk not the delivery guys. Those guys work such late hours at our apartment complex to make sure that people get their mail and it's a big job because it's a big place. I would do a separate review for them because all of those guys with their mail trucks are amazing and very very helpful.. But the people at the Post Office should be fired for the way that they treat people in there. There was a long line of people and apparently there were other people that could come and wait on people but the woman waiting on me didn't call anybody until about 20 minutes later. Even mailing a small package seemed to be a chore for the 2nd woman.. I had a secure Box but I asked for a little piece of tape and instead of using packing tape she used scotch tape like it was gonna be a huge deal to use the actual Post Office tape that they always use. This woman does not go the extra mile she doesn't even go the mile. I'm glad I don't have to judge Marina Del Rey on this one terrible Venice Post Office. The Marina Del Rey Post Office is not better. I think they all hate their jobs. I hesitate before I write this, don't want them to get more crowded but even when they are, it moves smoothly. The employees are attentive to their job. No extended chats but there can be a nature of warmth about them when there's low stress in the air. So far... everything makes faster than the PO I can walk to; on time and safe. If you want your package stolen, THIS is the place! Dont send anything of value or the supervisor herself will tell the delivery person to "deliver" the package and take it right back, then when you file a claim and complain because you have the scheme on CCTV, they claim harassment and say THEY will call the cops on YOU! The VENICE and MARINA DEL REY USPS office LOCATION and the missing package!!! i tracked my package at 6:20 am it left venice. i'm waiting for it to be delivered to the lockers in my building. no delivery no usps updates. at 7:39pm I received an update that at 3:20pm an individual picked up my package at the Marina Del Rey post office??? status on the delivery updates states it has been delivered? I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANYTHING- no delivery has been received , this is grand theft now I go to the police department and file a police report and to the post office demanding the video footage of the thief who works inside the post office who is stealing packages. This is not my first incident with this marina del rey location and theft, if you order something they want and it's shipped by amazon they know amazon replacement policy so items go missing out if marina del rey post office. Instead of a sullen front desk staff ready to dismiss you with a curt word, I was greeted with a big smile by a wonderful woman named Keita. She went out of her way to find my parcel, the last box under a pig piles of mail! Not only that, I dropped my ID at the post office and SHE WALKED TO MY HOUSE AND PERSONALLY HANDED IT TO ME! Let me start by saying I am literally at the post office 5x a week dropping of priority mail items (I sell a lot of things on Poshmark/Tradesy and also use the USPS for work shippin), I have NEVER been more insulted than I was today. Usually, I come in, put my items in the free priority mail envelope, a customer service associate tapes my PREPRINTED label on the bag, and I leave. Today I walked in, went to the counter and the woman said "what do you need" and I said "just tape" and she said to me "we don't provide tape to customers, you have to tape it at home or you can buy tape over there (for $10.99 a roll). I let her know I come here and the Santa Monica location many times a week and have never ever been told that. She told me "someone should've told you, we can't tape labels on items and we don't give stuff for feee but I'll do it for you this once". Her name was Vicky. As if it would've killed her to help a girl out, on Labor Day weekend, with 2 pieces of tape, but then she had to talk to me like I was a idiot and basically second guess that I haven't been told before that I can't use the scotch tape at the post office... Totally RUDE and totally INSULTING. I've had bad experiences at this location before as far as wait times, but never have I been talked to or treated like that at a UNITED STATES POSTAL OFFICE. Worst post office in America except the Marina del Rey location. Don't go there! The people their are so condescending. I swear every time I'm waiting in line there is an argument between customer and postal worker. For months now we have been going days with out mail delivered. You can't call the post office and talk to a supervisor or post master. Instead you wait forever and get crappy customer service over the phone with a person working from home that has no updates on when your mail will arrive. Tracking says it was delivered or no post box on-site. What ever!!! Total lies! If you go to the location you will treated so badly by a woman who speaks to you like you are in the hood. If you get a chance to speak with a supervisor there. He is a young unqualified and stressed out individual who has no answers. He was however able to give me three days of mail that wasn't delivered to our address. You can hear people yelling back and forth in building behind the front room. When I drove up, I looked behind the building, and there was someone sorting mail on the concrete. WTF???? This place is under-staffed and most of the employees hate their jobs. One post man said he is working 12-14 hour days, 6 days a week, and is gonna quit. We could see a man sitting inside, and when we peeked through the window he snickered, then looked away. People continued to come up and look in the window - he refused to make eye contact, as they knocked he ignored. Wow... after reading so many bad reviews I'm regretting not reading them before my employment here... The woman everyone on here is complaining about is named Joyce Spu... I understand the demand and occupation. Furthermore, I understand what it feels like as an employee to simply not be able to help a customer or another fellow employee because you just don't have all the answers. I walked into my first shift as a seasonal employee and very excited for the opportunity. I was quickly let down and given a reality check as to what culture has consumed our government jobs and what has been created as an outcome. Before I even got to open my mouth to tell Joyce Spu that I was reporting for my first shift, she was extremely rude and unprofessional. Being very loud and asking "what I wanted" all the while becoming frustrated with another employee she was helping on the computer. Maybe she was having a bad day, so I stuck my tail between my legs and waited in a corner where she told me to wait after finally LISTENING to what I had to say to her about my employment there. Also after she directed me to stand in the back of a huge line because she thought I was a customer cutting the line. Another clerk saw my distress/disappointment and called me to her window. While walking over Joyce continued to yell at me saying she didn't tell me to go anywhere. Gotcha dictator. I'm not supposed to jump until you ask me too... cool... After that embarrassing ordeal she finally called me to the back where she wrote everything down on printer paper including her direct line which is now not a working number.... She eventually apologized to me. The damage was already done. I unknowingly walked into a 12 hour shift of lifting scanning and throwing. Hard work and I really appreciate and respect the CA's now more than ever. I resigned because my whole experience that day was just epically terrible and I never wanted to return. Unfortunately, I had too because now it's been a month and I have no pay check for the 12 hours I worked. Nor has anyone contacted me regarding my employment there... I went in on Wednesday and they did not have a check for me. I asked to speak with Joyce -- twice. The first time the Clerk said she'd look for my check herself and let her know. Joyce never came out. Second time I asked the Clerk said Joyce took a phone call... I wrote a very detailed resignation and I'm sure she heard of it. Maybe she was too chicken to come out and talk to me face to face. I called her two hours later. (BTW USPS has a veeeeeery hard time answering phone calls) She put me on a hold so she could find someone to help me. I was on hold for an hour. I hung up called back and spoke to Eric (an employee) he said she already went home... She put me on hold and then went home. I called back the next morning for a Mr Morris as I was directed and Joyce rudely answers the phone and continues to raise her voice as I call her out on her unprofessionalism. I've called everyone at this point and I still haven't been paid. Accounting said my hours were never inputted. The union rep said she can't really help me because Venice is out of her jurisdiction and they don't support seasonal workers. Now I have to file an EEO complaint which could take months. For ONE 12 hour shift! I took a copy of my time card to Venice on Wednesday all SHE had to do was take it make a copy give it to Mr Morris and handle the situation because THATS HER JOB NOT MINES. I don't get paid for calling around looking for my paycheck and making sure my hours are properly accounted for! Mr Morris if you're reading this I have been trying to call you for days! Please reach out I really don't want to wait months for one paycheck. It's unfair! I don't know exactly how long it took for the new Venice post office to become as dysfunctional and brutal to wait in as the old Venice post office on Windward Circle, but they are there with a vengeance. Still in line and waiting while they attempt to find packages for two customers with no luck for 15 minutes. The line is now out the door, and no customers are getting served. I've lived in Venice for almost 20 years. The Venice Post Office has ALWAYS been an issue. They simply can't get it together and continually lie about the status of my mail/packages. Their website never is correct either. It's really frustrating to be waiting on packages/parcels only to have them pretend that they attempted delivery. Bottomline: Pretty much what you'd expect from a USPS outlet - inefficiency, long lines, cramped awkward space - but without too much of that negativity that you get at other government places like the DMV. TELLERS: There are three positions that are usually fully or at least 2/3 staffed albeit with the usual inefficiencies. One teller shines above all the others, but one is not enough to carry the entire weight of this enterprise. PARKING: The parking lot is relatively small, but there is enough turnover for you to find a spot. One holidays or crowded times, the local neighborhood usually offers up a spot or two of parallel parking. Note, the big staff lot in back IS NOT FOR CUSTOMERS. Waited in line for 30 min after the self-service kiosk wouldn't give me the option send my package via media mail, only to have the lady at the register refuse to slap a piece of tape on my mailing address I wrote out (since I was relying on the kiosk to print out the self-adhesive label when I paid for it). After 2 MONTHS, 2 change of address filings, and 7 trips to the post office, I was informed that my name is no longer associated with my address of 8 years and they can't tell me why or what I need to do to get this fixed. ANOTHER review to add to this post office's awful rating. This office has lost three of my packages in a matter two weeks! My packages were nicely packaged and labels taped on precisely. I dropped them in their package dropbox and haven't had tracking register. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt during these covid-19 times, but I've filed a claim for all of these packages and USPS says they've never been scanned in. Either they're sitting at this post office or they have an internal thief. How can so many consumers file the same complaint for one office!?
