Here are the hours. Only one person works there and she deserves a break

Friendly and good customer service! Only one person works there and she deserves a break. See photo for hours.

Typical greeting when I arrive here. You can't call first because there's no actual phone they answer.

Typical greeting when I arrive here is a sign in the middle of the morning saying closed. Will return later. You can't call first because there's no actual phone they answer. And they don't return when they say they will. A 20 minute post office errand takes an hour. If they were a real business they would fail. I'm only here because it's been four days since my overnighted package was shipped. I only come here because they make mistake after mistake. Such bad service. If friends could just listen when I say please use FedEx. It's cheaper...

Do not go to this location. It should be shut down.

USPS really needs to look into this location and possibly shut it down. The employees here are the laziest, rudest people we have encountered in a long time. Today (4/3/2020) at 11:45am we went to send out a return package but wanted a receipt due to the value. There was a makeshift sign out front saying the employee was on "break" and would return at 11:45, at 11:48 am an older man strolled up and asked my husband (who was holding the large box) if that's all he needed and to just leave it there in the hall. What? So he tells him we need a receipt & he replies "you don't need a god damn receipt, it will be scanned and you can check it that way" are you f'n KIDDING ME! I can't believe this USPS employee would speak to a customer in that manner. We in no way were leaving our package with this piece of sh*#. Last year, we went to mail a package here and it was the same nonsense with a makeshift sign saying they were gone. It seems this is very common. Truly, this location should be shut down and I will be reporting the employee we encountered today. And to that miserable man- the postal service will soon be obsolete so karma will catch up to you sir.

The postmaster shuffling around the parking lot while customers wait in front of a locked post office, during regular business hours.

Just the worst. I don't think I've ever had a successful visit to this location. Every time I've been here I had to drive to another post office to complete my task. The only reason I've made the mistake of frequenting this building, is because my mail carrier does not consistently deliver my packages and will leave them here. I'm typing this review while sitting in front of the closed office during regular business hours. The postmaster has posted a hand drawn sign that says he'll return in 15 minutes. I can see him wandering around the parking lot in uniform humming and drinking a sprite.

Here he is walking away, "I might not be back" he says.

Years later and this is still the worst post office in Los Angeles. My package was dropped off at this location yesterday. Tracking says my package is at this location. Myself and 3 other customers were locked out during business hours and denied access to this location. If you ever get a package delivered here, have it redirected to a different facility. The worker will pretend to look for your package and then give you a fake number to call that never answers. This happens regularly at this location and I am shocked that the laziness and lockouts are still happening. Instead of Yelp, file a complaint directly with the Inspector General at uspsoig dot gov/file-online-complaint if you want this disrespectful behavior to stop. Giving a one star on Yelp does nothing to help our community get better service at this location. This man needs to retire, it is abundantly clear he has no desire to be of assistance to the good people of Playa del Rey.

Undelivered packages piled on the desk in the customer area as defense for the impending zombie apocalypse.

Busy Bee: Yes, at times, the line can be quite long, but patience is key, especially leading up to the holidays! There are usually two & once in a while, three stations open & they do a great job getting people through the line as quickly as they can! Parking: Free & plentiful! Note: There are numerous gift cards, as well as fun and thoughtful greeting cards to look at while waiting in line! Also, plenty of post office boxes, lockers to retrieve some of your packages & a station where you can weigh your own items and get postage to mail your package! They also have a variety of cool stamps to choose from, which I always enjoy! Outside: There are also gorgeous flowers & plants along the side of the post office gate & walkway! Fun Sightings: Often times, I've even seen cute dogs in line with their friendly owners! Once, someone started singing as we waited in a line! Overall: Over the years, I've "always" had a pleasant experience & leave with a smile! I'm always happy to see the smiling faces of the people who work here, they are amazing and quite genuine; love it!

I've repeatedly brought this up to no avail. I've lost at least 3 packages containing designer clothing to lobby poachers. Then there's the "lost in the mail"instance where a package that was sent back to USPS office never surfaced. No accountability, no concern, no friendly faces. Unless you're elderly and always there. Pffft. Hire NEW people at front desk please. New faces, new fresh and can-do attitudes would be great. This has to be one of the busiest post offices in the area, yet I've never seen more than two people working. Many times there is only one person working. I once went in at 8:30 AM, when they open and there were 9 people in front of me, and only one poor guy working. The line didn't shorten after me either. So it was about 20 minutes waiting. However, I've been here before with the same situation and it could be a 30 minute wait time. This isn't bad management but the gutting of USPS in real time and this is the effect. For a post office with this much volume, there should be at least 2 people working at all times. The employees were very nice and efficient, but I would stay away from this location because of the sheer volume. Perhaps it's the big parking lot that attracts people to this location. Not sure, but always expect a long wait time.

Since I was already nearby getting food next door, I decided to give them another chance, but unfortunately, I had another frustrating experience. I brought in an Amazon return exactly the way it had originally been shipped to me -- in a sturdy, secure box with a latch. The employee told me I needed to "box it up." I explained that this was the original packaging it came in. She then changed her explanation and said it needed to be taped because of "Amazon's policies," despite the fact that I was returning it in the exact same condition it was delivered. The employee offered to tape the package, but wanted to charge me $2 just for a small amount of tape. What made the situation more frustrating was that I took the exact same package to another UPS Store afterward, and they accepted it immediately without any issues. This location consistently feels like it creates its own rules and tries to charge customers for every minor thing possible. Customer service return procedures should be more consistent between UPS Store locations, especially for simple returns. I have returned many Amazon packages in the past through different UPS Stores, Whole Foods, Amazon Fresh, Kohl's, and independent mailbox/shipping stores, and none of them had an issue with this type of return. Unfortunately, this experience confirmed why I avoided this location in the first place. Poor customer service, inconsistent policies, and unnecessary charges have made me decide I will not return here again.
