My experience at this post office has been very disappointing, largely due to the behavior of a manager (or supervisor) who walks around the lobby speaking down to customers. He openly shouts at people and acting in a confrontational manner. At one point, after I placed my pre paid package in the bin, he directly asked me what I was sending. I explained that it was a 3D-printed plastic product that I sell. He continued to question me in a way that felt more like an interrogation than normal customer service. Very odd questioning for no reason. This consistent type of behavior toward customers is inappropriate and unprofessional. I intend to file an official complaint with USPS regarding how customers are being treated at this location. read more

I've been coming here since 2010. The ladies here are so nice. They always greet everyone with a friendly smile. They're knowledgeable and quick. They're the best! Also there's tons of parking never have an issue finding a spot. Also I was in there today maybe 15 mins total [multi tasking off to the side after I was helped] & people came & went & it was unreal to see so many customers that were just in my opinion rude & ungrateful. This is a nice location tucked away off the beaten path, but it does the job in terms of servicing the area and seems pretty safe, easy and convenient for the El Segundo to Manhattan Beach (beach cities / south bay) residents as an option, for at least drop-off and self-service type drop offs. I didn't interact with any employees or lines for service, so I don't know if being a supposed small boutique post office causes any problems in service levels including longer wait times or not. Parking is interesting in that it's tight to drive into the lot and turn left into the parking lot area for the public which is a one-way angled parking design, so you really need to go a little past the 1st entry where the truck come in (employees only area) and pass the post office a little bit, then turn right into the parking lot properly and find a parking spot and park more easily. read more

Every time I come into this post office there is a line of people. There are three stations and there is either one employee or I'll be lucky if I see two but it doesn't matter because the line is to the door. Why they closed the Main Street El Segundo location is beyond me because they obviously need some back up. I didn't see one happy face in line I did an about face and left the premises. read more

It beats the USPS in Marina Del Rey, Westchester and Playa Del Rey. There are no transients in the surrounding neighborhood and plenty of parking solely for the post office. read more

I am amazed the supervisor didn't know the rules of conduct in the Post Office. Poster 7 hanging on the wall explains that Press can be there and record. He did nothing to deescalate the situation and educate the public on their rights and of the First Amendment Auditors, Free Press. If I could give 0 rating I would. Recently I've dealt with so many lazy workers who don't care about their job. I've witness my local mail carrier throwing up packages from the street to a 2nd floor apartment. Also have them marked my packages as delivered even though they never attempted to drop off. And they even marked my home address as business closed. Yesterday we had our lazy mail carrier leave his USPS plastic mail crates on my porch with other people's packages inside. Ive been here a few times whenever I'm in the area. I normally use the self-serve service. I did have a question one time but the staff was not helpful. Have you ever noticed that reviews for certain kinds of places are always pretty much bad? Hotels. McDonald's. POST OFFICES. You see, I guess people have better things in life than to write good reviews for these kind of places. Rather, you have people who are so angered by their experience that they simply must vent; instead of punching their wall, they take to the keyboard. While this isn't wrong, it makes it tough to get a real gauge on how these places are. This post office doesn't deserve the 1.5 star aggregate score it has. In reality, it's a fairly standard post office. I liked how parking there was easy since it's in a location with mostly corporate buildings around (and a soccer field across the street) and how the layout was...standard and expected. There was no wasted time trying to figure it out. Also, the line was about four people long during lunchtime, and I spent less than 10 minutes there. That's good time for a post office these days. Also, the woman who helped me out was cordial, which also is great for a post office these days. So, since I have nothing better in life currently to do, I will be not the hero these unfairly poorly-rated businesses needs, but the hero they deserve. read more

I don't understand why anyone would ever come to this location?! The people working here are so rude, not friendly or helpful in any way shape or form, literally on their phone.They behave like i came to their house and asking them for something! They charge way more and takes much longer for delivery. I have a side by side receipts. One of the better post offices, usually more staff than other post offices, they have more customers so there is sometimes a line, but it is easy to pick up and drop off our packages and mail. Staff is super friendly and as efficient as possible give the constraints they have to work with. Windows are only open M-F so they are not an option on weekends if you need something that only the window clerks can help you with. They do have a 24 hour kiosk for those weekend shipping needs. read more

YELP 100 CHALLENGE 2017: 42/100 Been here many times. It's THE smallest post office I've ever been to. But it's one of the most convenient. Yes, there's usually only 1 person handling ALL transactions. A 2nd might pop out of nowhere asking if anyone in line is there for mail/package pick up. Sometimes the line is long, sometimes there isn't one at all. It really is a hit or miss. But the one constant is that the staff is ALWAYS patient and nice. Doesn't matter who you get, they're really cool peeps. Another plus?! Tons of parking spaces. That was never a problem. I keep reading lines are long... and they can be at times. During tax season & and holidays, what post office doesn't experience this? My experience has been a good one. Almost every time I go, someone is out in the lobby to assist. They don't seem to rush anyone they are helping. There has usually been more than 1 person at the counter. Often, in other PO, there are lines out of the door and 1 person at the counter. I've always had really pleasant people. Other PO employees are unpleasant and seem irritated they are doing their job, impatient, God forbid greet you or even respond to your greeting or look at you. However, IF another employee walks through, they manage to be pleasant talkative and human interacting with them. I know customers can be irritating a times but why do we all suffer because of the small few. Anyway, I wish I knew names to give shout outs because I see the same ones most of the time, and they are super nice. read more

This review is for 24 hour kiosk access. IVE NEVER BEEN TO THIS POST OFFICE DURING BUSINESS HOURS. The story goes like this: I went to LAX post office (on airport blvd) to ship a package on sunday, since they have a 24 hour kiosk. Plus los of packaging supplies in lobby. So i was happy about that. Got there and I was ready to ship package and retrieve some free priority mail packaging supply. That place was unusually locked! Notice in front door said "due to security purposes, the new lobby hours are as follows....SUNDAY "closed." That made me angry. Bad review is going there. So I searched for nearest post office with 24 hour kiosk. This El Segundo location showed up. A couple miles away. I arrived to parking lot. Some one was just coming out from either retrieving mail from po box, mailing something or shipping w kiosk. The fact that this place was actually opened 24 hours is what made my morning. I was able to ship my package. The kiosk box was full of packages. So i couldnt put it in there. However, the small box under regular outgoing mail is an alternative. I used that box. I took away a few stars for lack of available free priority mail shipping supplies (flat rate boxes, address labels) and other free shipping supplies (documents). This is unacceptable. All of the free document (return receipt, signature required, registered mail, etc) slots were empty. read more

Pretty much most post offices in California are inefficient - this one fails miserably just as well. In a time where package & mail theft has become commonplace & the post office employees add more discouragement. The list of mishaps & delays is too long to list, its sad we have to live with their sloppiness and not caring. DMV is starting to looking better, that's just so sad. read more

Just visit your local post office to find out why places like Mailbox Etc and others have been able to open and survive. Don't get me wrong, some of the people who work here are friendly and do try to help while others couldn't care less (as witnesses daily when I get my mail out of my box at home - shoved it, magazine covers ripped, junk mail squished). But here, you can get a PO Box so, if you move a lot, you don't have to send in all those change of address cards (also nice if you don't want too many people knowing where you live). The PO Boxes here are expensive ($100++). I used to have one in south OC and it was under $50. At the OC location, if I received an item that was too big for my PO Box, they would put a key in my box that directed me to train-station-type boxes where I could retrieve the item without having to stand in line. This location has those boxes but, from what I was told, have lost the keys to most of them. So, they place a card in your PO Box which requires you to stand in line to get your item. Most times, there is only one person behind the counter and at least 5 people in line trying to figure out the cheapest way to mail something they haven't wrapped already to some friend half way across the world. If you are really lucky, there will be two people and no line (good luck!). Really disappointing to pay so much to not have this service available. Definitely will be looking at one of those independent mail box places next time I need one. On the plus side, if you do have a PO Box here, that side of the building is open 24/7 so you can pick up your mail whenever it's convenient. Just hope you don't have a card in your box requiring you to go back during business hours. Good luck! read more

Two front desk female workers at the U.S. Post Office in El Segundo, CA were horribly rude to me today, August 11, 2020, especially the middle-aged Caucasian. A younger Asian was also rude to me, but not quite as bad. The black female supervisor was nice but not helpful, unable to explain why my Priority Mail I sent to the IRS on July 30, 2020 has still not been delivered. My favorite post office. No lines usually and staff are very nice. The parking lot and location is very convenient.

This post office is no where near where I live but it's so worth the drive because 1. They take social distancing and mask wearing seriously 2. They are friendly and helpful 3. Service is quick! This post office is clean and organized and the staff is so nice. The post offices near my house are filled with trash and instead of helping you tape something they just throw a roll of tape at you with nothing to cut the tape and tell you to cut it yourself. It's worth the extra drive for the sense of safety and the friendly staff! Highly recommend! read more
