I have been frequenting this post office since I was a child. I have always had a decent experience. This time, we came for passport services for our child & we were WALKING OUT before our actual appointment time. Came in 10-12 minutes before our appointment, we were greeted & walked right into the office. Ms. Ida (pronounced ee- da) was an absolute gem! She is hilarious & efficient. We had all our documents in order beforehand. Both parents have to be present along with the minor. I feel like if you come prepared, you'll be just fine. Expecting other adults to hold your hand through the process & getting frustrated at them for your lack of understanding is unfair. They are very kind & helpful but please understand you are not the only customer there. We paid via debit at the counter & Shiekh was also very pleasant. Overall 12/10 experience! read more

After driving like I was in Grand Theft Auto, I finally arrived at the post office at 5:57pm and tried my hardest to park the massive minivan my boyfriend rented. As a petite woman who's 5'2", this was a bit of a challenge, and I didn't even pull all the way into the teeny, tiny parking space because I didn't want to scrape the car on my left or the concrete pole on the right that I was wedged between. I raced to the doors right as they were about to lock them and caught my breath. One more guy made it behind me. The line was long and going all the way out into the lobby, and even though there were only 2 postal clerks behind the counter, the line was moving fast. The clerk who helped me was a friendly lady whose name I don't recall. She may have been wearing a name tag, but I forgot to check. She asked for my tracking number and ID, then went back to retrieve my package. She came out a moment later, I signed for it, then bid everyone goodnight and happy holidays. In and out in under 20 minutes! I was surprised at how patient and friendly both clerks appeared to be, considering the long, holiday line. I'm sure it will only get crazier and crazier leading up to Hanukkah and Christmas, so try to get there sooner than later, and give yourself ample time to beat the traffic and navigate their small ass parking lot. The employees at the service area were friendly and efficient. However, the woman who handles the passports clearly hates her job. She was rude, menacing and kept racing her voice and making us feel uncomfortable for even asking questions. She shouldn't be there and it looks like she's had several complaints in the past. Please do not come here for passport services - we are now back for the third time trying to get a passport for our daughter because we keep receiving conflicting information. I've not been to the post office, well I can't remember, maybe 10 years ago? The post office is across the street from my home. Here I am with two parcels to send to my sister and GF. I did package them myself. But there's so many different postal rates!?! I just jumped in line and decided to figure it out when it was my turn. Roemy was the only postal clerk, so it took a bit of time. When it was my turn, he explained my options. I borrowed his sharpie and addressed my packages and jumped back in the line. No problem. Mailing a postcard in Los Angeles, California... After I found an appropriate postcard with a picture of the Southern California coastline at CVS in the Palms area, I addressed and stamped the card right away. I wrote a short note to my friend in Germany. It will take a while to get to its destination, but it's fun to send and receive old school "happy mail"! According to GPS, the closest post office was this one on Motor Avenue. I was really happy to find a free, covered parking structure attached to the post office building. I walked in and saw a short line of customers. I just dropped the card into the slot and went on my way! How efficient is that? This post office does new passports--my mom in her senior years applied for the first time. The process was in a separate office and very accommodating for my mom's age and disability, which was a relief. Shout out to Ms. C for her kindness, knowledgeability, and accommodation. They took a terrible quality photo of me and when I asked that they fix it, they just said "we can't keep taking more photos" and rushed me out. And this is after they had spent an inordinate amount of time attending to two customers who went ahead of me, so I don't know why they were not extending the same courtesy to me. The photo is very clearly not compliant with the passport photo requirements - it's blurry and has shadows in the background. I'm going to have to go elsewhere to get these retaken. Been coming to this post office for years and I feel they have improved! Staff seems more efficient now than before, which means line goes faster. I used to avoid this post office but now I'm more inclined to come here A good size indoor parking right next to the entrance is another good reason -- makes it easy when you have lots of packages. I know the post office industry is struggling, but these offices need to be improved greatly. They're never fully occupied. There's always a long line. There's three booths and only two people working them. I've never seen three staff members work at all three desks. There's always homeless hanging outside and no security. This review is for the passport services, as that was what I came for. Making an appointment through the USPS website was okay, and there is a small line that runs parallel to the post office line, easy to mistake one for the other. Thankfully it wasn't too busy but there are no chairs or waiting area. However, I want to compliment the employee who runs the passport office. Mary is helpful, efficient, and shows amazing customer service. She is friendly, and even when I didn't have everything correct and ready, she was patient with me. The office also does photos, and she is very quick to get those taken care of. I saw her helping a family ahead of the line and she even went out of her way to try and entertain a fussy toddler who was getting upset at being stuck in a stroller for so long. It is heartening to see someone be genuinely happy at helping others in their job. I would trust her with any passport services. read more

How did I know know of this location? Easy parking and friendly service. Noticed they are well stocked on packaging supplies and cards, which is nice for on-the-go gift mailing. There were almost no line, I'll take a 5min wait over the super busy at least 20min wait line at the Sepulveda location. This is my go to post office from now on! read more

Louis DeJoy ruined the USPS, but there are still some employees who care. Went to the Post Office late on a Saturday to speak to someone in person, as there has been NO MAIL delivered to my apartment building since Wednesday. The woman at the counter, Lakisha, explained that they were short staffed on carriers and were doing their best to get the mail out. She did help me track down my two missing packages, which should have been delivered days before. It took her some time to find them, but she persisted. SHOUT OUT to Lakisha!! What a special person! I wish more USPS employees were that customer service oriented. She really helped restore my faith that the USPS isn't totally lost. I am so unhappy with the United States postal office that they would allow a manager who is so unprofessional to run this office. The excuses that I received from this manager after she finally called me ... after two weeks of me going into the facility asking for her and four times was told she was there, but could not come out from the back because she was too busy I still am not receiving my mail.!! What is going on with United States Postal Service at this location, I have lived in Los Angeles for over 50 years and I have never once had a problem like this at any postal office. I went to the post office for the first time. I needed passport service. I was actually impressed how great that was. I have been to another location for passport service before. Although I had an appointment, the stuff who was supposed to assist me was out for lunch. People who also had appointments after me were also waiting for the stuff coming back. We ended up waiting for 40min. One guy left because the wait was too long. Because of my past experience, I was not expecting good services at U.S postal office. An exceptionally terrible experience. Dropped off three packages and conveniently only two were scanned in. The package with the highest value was not and now two weeks later my customer has canceled their order due to not having received the shipment and I have lost sales. This USPS branch provided me with zero help and claimed that I never dropped it off. I asked if I could speak to the branch manager and review the video surveillance of me clearly dropping off THREE packages. They will not help you at all nor will they even try to find the package. Based off of the other reviews on this branch I'm convinced the employees are pilfering through packages and taking what the want. Will be reporting this branch. Worst post office I have experienced. Put mail on hold two weeks prior to when I needed it to start. The mail would be held some days and not others so I was still receiving mail while on vacation. They told me maybe all their carriers didn't 'know' to hold it. Then when I went to pick up mail within the 10 days after the hold was over (as they tell you to do), I was told that the mail was not there for me. That they were out delivering it. I have tons of missing mail that I know came in through informed delivery but which I never got. The people working there tend to be rude and like you are bothering them when you ask questions. So, let me get right down to it. I'm simply reviewing this location for what happens while I'm there. I'm not looking at how they deliver my mail, whether they deliver at all, or anything else this post office does. I'm just talking about going into the physical location to mail or pick something up. First, I've never had any issues with the people at the counter. There are two women who are regularly there and they're always very nice and accommodating toward me. I've come in several time through the years and they always remember me and ask me questions and seem to take an interest in repeat customers. Second, it's a post office. A bureaucratic organization that is the butt of many jokes. Lower your expectations and then you'll be pleasantly surprised. I don't expect it to move efficiently, I just need it to move decently. And that they do. I've been to other locations that barely move and the counter folks are so rude that you wish it didn't move so you wouldn't have this person. Third, the self-serve kiosks are usually available. I use them with ease and sometimes the lobby attendant floats around checking on them. Final Word: Better than many. read more

I live in a locked gated building. My mailbox is large + Locked. I track every package. The past few months Im missing packages that were "delivered in/at mailbox". Its now averaging to one a month. I've been a box renter of the same box for almost 30 (thirty) years and have had positive experiences with Palms Station staff except for over the past two years. There are three specific employees who have repeatedly spoken to me in quite condescending manners and one who mid-year this year 2021 caused a two-month delay in renewing my expired box rental. This same employee most recently became indignant toward me because I've forgotten to bring my box key with me on at least three visits over a period of time and she demanded that I pay for a new box lock (and keys) a week or so ago. This seemingly was done out of sheer spite as my box was NOT locked due to any non-payment; I just forgot to bring my key each time. Yesterday, I picked up my mail from my box and discovered a 6-month renewal notice to renew by 12/31/21. However, I'm still miffed about this employee's lack of courtesy over delaying my renewal from spring to summer of this year and the contempt shown me just last week about getting my mail out of my box. The second issue has been with an employee who answers the phone whenever I call to speak with the Box Department person on duty to check to see if mail is inside my box before going to the post office. Again, I have received snide remarks from this employee on many occasions. This person usually speaks to me in a derogatory fashion. The third person working the customer counter area who has been snide with me on at least two occasions is one who is addressed by his last name and "Mr." by the staff. (Note: not sure of this individual's last name; he reminds me of the record producer Chris Iverson.) Most recently he said something to me when I was upset about having to pay for the new box lock and key by making a completely disrespectful comment that could be heard by everyone in line and at the counter at the time this occurred. Finally, in late November and early December, 2020, I mailed a retirement greeting card to a friend in another area of Los Angeles with a $50 bill inside. She never received it. Also, In early December 2020, I mailed a Christmas card to a relative in Maryland who never received it. Both cards with cash were mailed inside the lobby of this post office. I learned a lesson then: do not ever send cash by mail. It should be noted that both of these occurrences were reported to the station manager at that time. I've observed several different station managers of this particular station over recent years. Hopefully the newly-appointed station manager can correct the poor customer service I've been receiving from the above mentioned employees. All other staff that I interact with at Palms Station have been courteous and respectful except the above mentioned three individuals (and an employee in early 2020 who pushed my shoulder with her finger as I was attempting to enter the station to get to my box to check on my mail one minute before closing time. That individual, a female, has not been observed in the customer service area since that incident. read more

I had to go through the process of contacting USPS customer care after the woman at the counter told me, "You have a question about postage you bought at the kiosk? Nothing I can do about that." Going around the staff here was literally the only way to speak with a competent person (and USPS customer care was extremely helpful). Given the sheer number of specific complaints, I'm surprised this location has yet to see an overhaul in employees and/or management. Fingers crossed it happens soon. read more
