Artist beware, I had been searching for weeks to find a place to do #artcopy. It means making a print of your art work. I am relative new but accomplished impressionist painter. I had heard the going rate for making a copy was 5x the rate I was charged here. I was so excited, I left the SFV at 3 pm just at the start of Friday night traffic. They finished the job before leaving and their price was so reasonable, I couldn't wait to share with my friends. They went out of the way to clean up and improve the image. I used to go to Westside Print Center whenever I wanted to print and bind a draft of a manuscript. But I stopped going a year or so ago because of an encounter I had there, and I wanted to share that because I hoped they wouldn't do this to anyone else. Anyway, I had requested a printing of a book, one-sided, and when I arrived, it was double-sided. I said that was wrong, and the woman who was helping me denied that it was, but when she pulled up the email, she admitted it. She offered to let me come back later and get a new copy, but I said no, and I left with the copy. When I got home, I changed my mind. It was going to be a lot harder to make notes an annotations on a double-sided print, so I decided to go back to the place. Unfortunately, I forgot the copy she gave me at home. When I arrived, she asked me for the original copy. I said I didn't bring it. She said she didn't want to give me a new copy unless I returned the old one. I asked why, and she implied that it was so I wasn't stealing free copies. I was a little put out by this (it was their mistake that started this, after all), and I said, well, my place is a long way away, I would prefer not to make the round trip for a single copy. She said, well, then just come back the next time you're driving by. I said, look, I don't want to bring it back, I don't come here often, just let me pay for the new copy. She refused to let me pay for it, and printed a new copy and gave it to me with the attitude that I was a con man who had come up with a scheme to get free copies. I would have paid! I tried to pay! Still, when I left, she reminded me to bring back the original the next time I was there. Anyway, that was a couple years ago, and I haven't been back. I hated being treated like a thief, and I wished they'd just let me pay instead of trying to guilt trip me over a $12 copy job. I probably won't ever go back because it just made me feel bad, but like I said, their printings had always been good before then, reasonably priced and the quality I needed. I recommend going so long as you don't mind the possibility of being called a thief when you're trying to pay for goods and services. read more

I had a small batch of wedding invitations printed online with Shutterstock and the results were meh... alignment was weak and color was just OK. So I looked and realized Westside Print Center was actually down the street from me and had them do the same job. Not only was the finished product in my hand MUCH faster, but the print quality was absolutely superior. (Enough so that I felt compelled to write this.) Came for a quick standard printing job on 2 sheets of paper so I could mail something out. Emailed them what I needed printed and the price was $1. So looks like it's 50 cents a sheet. The Westside Print Center is chock full of rude, crotchety employees. An older redheaded woman snapped her gum and appeared annoyed when I explained I needed to print a 3-page PDF document. I was purposefully ignored for a long time and finally had my document printed out but with major attitude. The redheaded woman attempted to explain "You have to understand it's hard to get up for a 3-page document." Well, guess what folks? When I have a bigger job (and I have a few coming down the pipeline), I won't be going back here. I normally like supporting smaller mom 'n pop shops but for these kind of printouts, I'll be sticking with Kinkos. They're much friendlier there. Word of advice for the WPC: Treat all your customers equally, big and small jobs alike. read more

I have gone in twice and was almost taken back by how rude and unfriendly they are. I have read a few reviews saying the same thing so apparently I'm not the only one with this experience. Usually I am a customer at the Kinko's in Culver City on Jefferson. Not because Kinko's is any good, I just hadn't discovered Westside Print Center yet. In fact, I hate going to that Kinko's because their staff is incredibly rude and really make customers feel unwelcome. Thankfully, someone mentioned Westside Print Center in their review of that Kinko's, so I decided to give them a try. Most of my print jobs are small, 30-50 copies printed from a thumb drive. So I walk in this morning and was immediately greeted by Carla. I told her what I needed, handed her the thumb drive -- no problem. She showed me some paper samples and in a matter of minutes she had my copies, and even cut them for me (it was a 4-up layout), for less than what Kinko's charges, and without any of the attitude. Carla even suggested next time that I email the file to her first and she'd have my copies waiting for me when I got there. It's such a pleasure to experience this kind of friendly, knowledgeable, customer service. read more

Just a note that if you just want to do your own copies on a self-serve machine, PIP might not be the place for you. There's no self-serve copy machines but an associate will do it for you for $0.25/page. They were nice enough to point me in the direction of CopyMax (part of OfficeMax) up Venice a bit in the direction towards Helm / away from the beach in the plaza with Albertsons where it's only $0.09/page for self-serve. Contrary to what the other reviewer stated, PIP has plenty of parking available in the back. read more

The team at WPC saved our behinds! We had a last minute pitch meeting and needed 5 copies of a booklet and only had a few hours to get them printed. I was in there, and then outta there in an hour with 5 great-looking saddle-stitched and trimmed 20-page booklets! Good color, no streaking or creases. Service wasn't warm and fuzzy, but it wasn't rude. I don't mind that -- this isn't a fine-dining establishment, people! Worth noting: - $10 minimum on CC purchases. - Parking behind the building. - They also offer large-format printing and offset printing along with their digital services. We'll be back! read more

The worst place to go. I went in and I wanted to print a menu. I asked to see what kind of paper they had, and if they had any samples...Every response "Shirley" gave was "well what do you want". Shirley was absolutely no help at all. And after I had to imagine everything in my mind, she was charging me $46 "before the print" so it would've ended up being probably 60 or more or less for 20 menus...Went to KINKOS. Spent about 17 on what I wanted and it was an absolute breeze. Don't OVER PAY. Save your $$$ read more

I live three blocks away and pass by this shop every other week, but I've always gone to Kinkos to have my files printed out before class (I'm a graphic design student). For some reason, after reading the reviews posted here beforehand, I always thought that the place only printed in bulk quantities. All i really want is to print out 9-10 pages of 11x17 colored paper maybe once a week. Some lady on the phone said that the price was $1/sheet of paper (colored 11x17), BUT only if the pdfs were combined. Well, I ran out of time and the guy who helped me quickly combined my pdf files, checked my jpg for resolution size, and even calibrated the machine so that my colors would turn out as close as possible! WTF! Kinkos NEVER does this! And Kinkos charge me $1.75/page for poorly calibrated print outs! AND they printed my pieces on 15x17(?) sized paper so that my 11x17 prints would bleed, FOR THE SAME PRICE. AAAANDDDDD the quality of the prints are freaking amazing!!! Yeah, if you couldn't tell already, I'm a huge fan. read more

I used this center for all of our wedding printing needs, including invitations, seating charts, escort cards, etc. I have no graphic design experience, but learning Inkscape and using Westside Print Center gave me professional results at probably 20% of the cost. The staff here was willing to print samples so we could see how everything looked, gave some layout advice, and gave recommendations on types of paper stock. This isn't the kind of service you'll get from an office mega store, and I'm glad for the opportunity to support a local business. read more

I've worked on two printing projects with Westside Print Center and been very pleased both times. First, I came to Ruth for assistance in printing table cards for a big event. She troubleshooted with me and only charged me for the final product. Yay! Second, I worked with several members of the team to print an 11x17 scrapbook. They taught me how to lay out my document in InDesign correctly, even creating a miniature dummy book to help me understand the mechanics. My printer ran out of ink so I would normally come here. Office max is one block down and they both cost the same for a regular black and white print. 10 cents a copy. I was on my way to work and had to print and ship something really quick so I stopped in to westside printing. They asked me if my travel drive is mac or pc based. I said it's mac based. The woman who helped me tried to connect my travel drive on her pc, while her pc took forever. They tried to connect it to another pc, when they should have just used the mac computer they had in the back room. So while I was waiting, I asked if I could pay first, because I was in a hurry and wouldn't it be easier to just ring me up since I was standing right in front of the cash register? The woman said okay, it'll be 2$. What 2$? For one regular b&w print? I thought it was 10 cents? I come here often and I've never been charged 2$ "yeah it's 2$ for a service charge" Um ok but why? because you had to print it on a mac? There's no sign that says that. Maybe it's because I wanted to pay for the print right away? I don't know why..... "nevermind, you can just toss that I'll go one block over to office max" "ok it'll be 10 cents just today but next time that won't happen" As a designer I visit many print shops and I have NEVER been treated this way. I get better customer service at kinkos, and that says a lot. Thanks for nothing westside printing. My friends and I will never be visiting this place forever. can't believe you mistreat returning customers this way. This place deserves no stars. I have only written very negative reviews for two other places because they really deserved them. I hope you go out of business soon. read more
